Weather forces postponement of GOP caucus in eastern Maine

The Washington County caucus was originally scheduled to take place Saturday at Washington Academy in East Machias. But organizers have pushed back the caucus to next Saturday with the National Weather Service issuing a winter storm warning calling for 6 to 10 inches of snow and hazardous driving conditions.

Party officials planned to declare a winner Saturday evening, even with more caucuses scheduled for the coming week.

RP in Maine

As I sit at 12 PM EST near Bangor Maine there is light snow with no accumulation on the streets. The weather was much, much worse, when Ron Paul paid us a visit 2 weeks ago with very large turnout (including me). Were it not for the large Ron Paul contingent at last weeks GOP caucus, it would have been like the yearly financial board meeting of a country club.
