The Power of Israel over the United States

There is much idle chatter from liberals, leftists and progressives, claiming that Netanyahu’s ‘brazen intervention’would backfire;

There have been times when history has played tricks with man and…has magnified the features of essentially small persons into a parody of greatness--Rabindranath Tagore(on Benito Mussolini)

How is it that the ruler (Benjamin Netanyahu) of a puny country (Israel) of 8.2 million (6.2 million Jews) with the 37th biggest economy (GDP in current prices) in the world dictates war policy and secures the willing submission of the legislature of the largest economy and most powerful military empire in the world?

What significance does Netanyahu’s speech to the US Congress have, beyond the fact that he uses it as a platform to attack the elected President of the US, to denounce US peace negotiations and to demand that Congress adopt policies designed to precipitate a war with Iran?

BEX Alert!!! - "Hayden On Iran Deal: Listen to Intel Officials, Push Obama's View Aside"

Before signing off on an agreement with Iran, Congress should heed the advice of officials at the Department of Energy and intelligence professionals — not President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry — about Tehran's "intentions and capabilities," according to Gen. Michael Hayden, the former director of the National Security Agency and Central Intelligence Agency.

"We need to look at the deal in its entirety and frankly push the president's view on the deal aside, push Secretary Kerry's view on the deal aside," Hayden, a retired four-star Air Force general, said Monday on Newsmax TV's "America's Forum."

Crazed Washington Drives the World to the Final War

Westerners live in The Matrix, and the presstitutes keep them there. The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, and the TV channels perform as agents (as in the Matrix film) actively suppressing any glimmer of factual reality.

Western people have no comprehension of the real reasons for Washington’s murderous interventions in Yugoslavia, Middle East, Afghanistan, Libya, Ukraine, Indonesia, or Latin America. The most transparent lies are fed to people too ignorant to recognize the lies. The lies have cost huge numbers of deaths and injuries and are leading directly to war with Russia and China.

Assad Key to Any Political Solution in Syria

The Syrian civil war has been completely lost in the quagmire that is ISIS and the wider problems stemming from Iraq and the war waged upon it by President Bush and the neoconservative establishment. The dangers of meddling in Iraq were clear to anyone who had read even a few pages of modern Middle Eastern history, but few in Western power circles were honest enough to question the policy and call on their governments to think twice before meddling in Middle Eastern affairs.

Berlin Rumbles Washington’s Hidden War Agenda

Berlin and the rest of Europe need to move fast to underpin diplomacy with Russia and to head off Washington’s death-wish plunge into the abyss.

Washington’s reckless attempts to scuttle the shaky ceasefire in Ukraine are unnerving Germany. The German government feels, with good reason, that the Americans are trying to undermine its recent efforts to mediate a political solution to the nearly year-old conflict, which has caused at least 6,000 deaths and up to one million refugees. Not only that but the violence between the ultranationalist regime in Kiev and the pro-Russian separatists in the east is threatening to spillover into a wider war that could involve Russia and the rest of Europe.

Israel Shamir: Who Killed Nemtsov

The Russians are worried that pro-Western neoliberal party will regain the positions they lost after 2000, and dead Nemtsov will indeed be more useful for his cause than alive one.

Anyway, while the mourning and the funeral did not cause any breach of peace, the march did not turn into a Maidan or Tahrir, and Bernard Henri Levi did not land on the Red Square, the Putin’s government got cold feet. For a long eight days Russian police looked for the murderers, and meanwhile the Yeltsin’s cadres, people of nineties assaulted Putin from within and the Western media and officials from without. President Putin is not a Genghis Khan, he is a non-confrontational bloke whose great ambition is to live in peace and harmony with the West while defending Russia’s vital interests, and observing interests of Russia’s wealthies and worthies. He also wants to be accepted as an equal among the world’s great, East and West.

We saved Jews 3 times, Netanyahu should revise history lessons – Iranian FM

Iran has no intention of destroying Israel and has actually saved the Jews three times in history, but the current Israeli regime is a threat to Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said.

“Israel threatens to use force against Iran almost on a daily basis… Of course, if they did use force against Iran, we would defend ourselves, as we have done with great sacrifice in the past. But we are not invading, we are not threatening anybody. We have not threatened anybody for 250 years,” the Iranian FM said.

“We never had the bomb. We will never have a bomb. We’re not looking to have a bomb. We do not believe a bomb is in our interest. Whereas [Netanyahu] does have a bomb. He has 200 nuclear weapons,” he said.

US War on ISIS a Trojan Horse

Ulson Gunnar
Activist Post

In August of 2013, even as the words came out of US President Barack Obama’s mouth regarding an “impending” US military strike against the Syrian state, the impotence of American foreign policy loomed over him and those who wrote his speech for him like an insurmountable wall. So absurd was America’s attempt to once again use the canard of “weapons of mass destruction” to justify yet another military intervention, that many believed America’s proxy war in Syria had finally reached its end.

The counterstroke by Russia included Syria’s immediate and unconditional surrendering of its chemical weapons arsenal and, with that, so evaporated America’s casus belli.

Few would believe if one told them then, that in 2015, that same discredited US would be routinely bombing Syrian territory and poised to justify the raising of an entire army of terrorists to wage war within Syria’s borders, yet that is precisely what is happening...

Washington Yanks British Bulldog into Line

The gross interference by Washington in Britain’s forthcoming election on the vital issue of budgetary priorities clearly demonstrates that British «democracy» is but an appendage to an American leash. And the leash is being yanked to pull the snarling bulldog into line.

In a brazen show of bringing-to-heel in their «special relationship», American political and Pentagon chiefs are openly rebuking the British government to maintain its huge military spend on the NATO alliance – to the possible detriment of already withering public services in austerity-clobbered Britain. The imposition by Washington raises serious questions about the nature of democracy in Britain – the self-proclaimed «Mother of all Parliaments».

Bibi Joffrey and the Flower of Zion

The walls are thick and strong beyond imagining, but the elders who sleep in the bowels of Zion know that this rumbling at their foundation marks well their inevitable fall.

The first great stone has hit the ramparts of Zion. The elders within the walls, down in the bowels of the fortress, have sat bolt upright, as they have felt the unmistakable rumbling vibration. Their eyes, which are usually narrow with the self-regard of the power of their own devious cunning, have suddenly gone wide with fear, as instantly they know that the inevitable has arrived upon them.

As another great stone finds the wall, and shakes the very air, these elders fly from their beds with great alarm.
The walls are thick and strong beyond imagining, but the elders who sleep in the bowels of Zion know that this rumbling at their foundation marks well their inevitable fall.

According to a press release from the Anti-Defamation League, Farrakhan's powerful speech, in which he correctly identified the Jewish state of Israel and Jewish criminals largely controlling the United States federal government and mainstream mass media as being behind the events of 9/11, once again reaffirmed "his status as the leading anti-Semite in America."

US Considering Openly Arming Syrian al-Qaeda Faction, al-Nusra

As reported at Antiwar.com, the US and some of its regional client dictatorships are prodding the major al-Qaeda faction operating in Syria, a brutal terrorist group called al-Nusra, to “re-brand” so the US can openly arm it.

Wikipedia notes that al-Nusra:

…is a branch of al-Qaeda operating in Syria…

…has been designated as a terrorist organisation by the United Nations, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Turkey.

…is generally made up of native Syrian mujahideen who adhere to Sunni Islam. Its goal is to overthrow Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria and create an Islamic Emirate under Sharia law.

Members of the group have referred to the United States and Israel as enemies of Islam, and warned against Western intervention in Syria.

al-Nusra is also, according to both the United States government and ISIS itself, affiliated with ISIS, formerly known as AQI – al Qaeda in Iraq.

The Council on Foreign Relations notes:

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a palm to forehead moment, at industrial-strength velocity, upon reading this.

Over and over again, this Administration has proven itself pathologically, and collectively, unable to think a scenario through to its logical conclusion.

Does this administration actually believe that after unseating Bashar Al-Assad, that al-Nusra will meekly, quietly throw down its arms, and give its assent to any western-centric puppet put into Assad's place?!?

I don't know the odds the bookies in Vegas would give to such a potential outcome here, but were I a betting woman, I would not bet that this will happen.

Upon gaining control of Syria, Al-Nusra will most probably have a far different geopolitical agenda for Syria from that which the US government thinks it can, and will, provide the US.

And most likely, it will be a far more vitriolically anti-US government than is that of the Al-Assad government.

Mainstream Media Discovers What Created ISIS - Global Warming!

Brandon Turbeville

After five years of intense fighting and destabilization raging across Syria, Western mainstream press has finally discovered the true cause of the so-called “civil war.” It turns out that all of the analysts in the alternative media suggesting that the situation in Syria was the result of a NATO destabilization campaign and foreign-backed invasion of terrorists in the form of al-Nusra, al-Qaeda, and ISIS were wrong. In fact, even those mainstream analysts who have suggested that the foreign invasion was actually a legitimate rebellion were apparently mistaken.

Thankfully, the mainstream press has discovered the true cause of the Syrian crisis – global warming.

BEX Alert - "Alan Dershowitz: Obama 'Obligated' to Answer Netanyahu's 'New' Proposal"

President Barack Obama "totally misled the American people" by saying Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during his Tuesday address to a joint session of Congress, presented no new ideas about striking a deal with Iran over nuclear weapons, Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz said Wednesday on Newsmax TV's "America's Forum."

"The prime minister said, 'If the world leaders are not prepared to insist that Iran changes behavior before a deal is signed, at the very least, they should insist Iran changes behavior before a deal expires,'" said Dershowitz.

"His proposal, and it's a very sound one, is that the sunset provision doesn't kick in unless Iran does three things — it has to stop being the world's greatest exporter of terrorism, it has to stop bullying neighboring countries like Syria and Lebanon, and it has to stop calling for the destruction of Israel.

Netanyahu Invites Arab Diplomats to His Big Speech—and Gets Rejected

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is refusing to meet with a group of ardently pro-Israel Democratic senators next week in Washington, but he very much wants to see the faces of Arab ambassadors in the audience during his controversial address to Congress.

The National-Security State’s ISIS Racket

Never mind that the national-security apparatus produces the very threats it then uses to scare people with. After all, did anyone hear of ISIS before the U.S. invaded and occupied Iraq, a country that had never attacked the United States or even threatened to do so?

No. That’s because there was no ISIS before the apparatus invaded and occupied Iraq. It was the invasion and occupation, along with other interventions by the apparatus, such as in Syria and Libya, that has produced ISIS, the new, scary enemy of the day.

But of course, no statist wants to hear that. The national-security state is akin to a god, one that is keeping them safe from all those scary creatures thousands of miles away from American shores, creatures that are brought into existence by the very policies of the apparatus itself.

Webmaster's Commentary:

ISIS is a tool of American military training and funding; a "terrorist organisation du jure" which allegedly beheads people, and tortures puppies.

And if you have a hard time wrapping your head around that, please look at the following:

As reported at beforeitsnews.com:

In fact, there is a direct link between those terrorists and the U.S. foreign policy. Last year, Spiegel declared that Americans were training the Syrian rebels in Jordan to oust Assad.[8] But the evidence went back to 2012: “Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials. “The officials said dozens of ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.”

This was reported at globalresearch.ca:

The Washington Post would report that the United States military accidentally dropped by air at least one pallet of weapons and supplies that ended up in the hands of the so-called “Islamic State” or ISIS. While a combination of factors about this particular story appear suspicious, including SITE Intelligence Group’s involvement in quickly disseminating an alleged video of ISIS terrorists rooting through the supplies, one fact remains. While the US claims it has “accidentally” allowed weapons to fall into the hands of ISIS terrorists, in reality, the US has been arming, funding, and aiding ISIS and its terrorist affiliates either directly or through Saudi, Qatari, Jordanian, or Turkish proxies since at least 2011.

And this, reporteed at thenewamerican.com:

Some astute U.S. lawmakers who previously warned that Obama’s strategy of arming al-Qaeda and other jihadists in Syria would backfire did speak out about the insanity. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.), for example, outlined those concerns on Fox News after the president’s speech about supposedly degrading and destroying ISIS. “The one thing we need to remember about all of this,” he said, “we need to remember how we got here. The reason we got here is we took it upon ourselves to topple secular dictators who were the enemy of radical Islam.” But what about all those air strikes Obama is supposedly conducting against ISIS? Well, according to the Assad regime, which is locked in mortal combat with ISIS and other Western-backed Islamists, Obama’s unconstitutional military adventures, perhaps not surprisingly, have done nothing to weaken it. “All the indications say that (Islamic State) today, after two months of coalition air strikes, is not weaker,” explained Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem in a recent TV interview cited by Reuters. The most powerful military in the world could not even “weaken” a rag-tag group of terrorists after two months of air strikes and countless millions worth of military support to “moderates”? If that is the case — which sounds rather implausible — perhaps Americans deserve a refund for the hundreds of billions of dollars spent each year on the military. More likely, though, is that, as top Obama officials have explained openly, the real purpose of the “anti-ISIS” war is to remove Assad — at least initially — on the road toward “world order.” “I recognize the contradiction in a contradictory land and a contradictory circumstance,” Obama claimed in September 2014, downplaying the insanity and deception as if it were all some confusing misunderstanding. The week before those comments, though, his own ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, admitted in a separate TV interview that deposing Assad was among the real goals of the administration’s “contradictory” Syria policy. “The training also will service these troops [Obama’s so-called ‘moderate rebels’] in the same struggle that they’ve been in since the beginning of this conflict against the Assad regime,” Power said, contradicting the key selling point for arming “moderate” jihadists — to fight ISIS.

So folks, the very force the US government is decrying and condemning verbally is that same force that the the US government is supporting, covertly, monetarily, and with US weapons.

Deal with it; the words "credibility" and "Federal Government" can no longer be used in the same sentence.

Top Secret? Jordan Furious After Pentagon Reveals Anti-ISIL Training Site

The Pentagon has altered records to try and cover up its disclosure that one of its training camps to battle Islamic State militants is located in Jordan – information Jordan had requested be kept private.

The slip happened last week as a Pentagon officer briefed reporters on condition of anonymity. In an effort to hide the screw-up, the Pentagon has since redacted any mention of the training camp from its public records, the Washington Times reported.

The Pentagon typically only discusses aid partner nations provide to its operations against Islamic State militants only after those partner nations have publicly spoken about those contributions.

The meeting will be the first official visit to the White House by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, who has been Qatar's ruler since June 2013.

The meeting was announced cordially, with the White House saying in a statement last week that Obama was looking forward to discussing "political, economic, and security issues of mutual concern to our two countries".

But those security issues -- which are set to dominate the talks -- could also provide the greatest friction between the two leaders, analysts said.

Qatar an ‘important ally,' UK defence sec claims amid terror backing allegations

British Defence Secretary Michael Fallon praised Qatar as one of the UK’s “most important allies” during a meeting with his Qatari counterpart on Monday, amid allegations that the Gulf state supports terrorism.

Fallon met with the Qatari Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Hamad Bin Ali Al Attiyah, to discuss areas for military cooperation in the fight against the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).

After the meeting, Fallon praised the Gulf state for being among the UK’s “most important allies.”

Yemen: The World's Newest Failed State

In Yemen there is no longer a government or a president. On January 22, after the Houthi, (Zaydi Shiites) militiamen in the north besieged the presidential palace in Sana’a, both interim President (since 2012) Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah (of a caretaker government which secured parliamentary confidence in December 2014), resigned. Washington has closed its embassy and many other countries, Western and non, have done likewise. Four southern governors, including those from Aden and Abyan, which has been the epicenter of the US drone campaign against al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), have refused to resign, in solidarity with President Hadi. Houthi militias dispersed an impromptu pro-government demonstration days after the takeover; the occasion served as an opportunity for the Houthis to wield some power as they brandished weapons in the streets and made numerous arrests.

US ‘eyeing new air base’ in Iraq amid talk of major offensive on ISIS

Washington is working to install a new air base in Iraq’s Kurdistan to be used in a campaign against Islamic State (ISIS), media report. This comes as the White House’s special envoy on ISIS speaks of a ground operation in Iraq against the militants.

This time an American stronghold in the region will be deployed in Erbil, the capital of semi-autonomous Kurdistan region in northern Iraq that is expected to be used as a logistics hub to supply primarily munitions for warplanes of the US-led coalition against ISIS militants.

“The base is close to Erbil, the capital of the regional government…The warplanes will do surveillance, but the warplanes which will bomb ISIL targets will not take off from here,” Helgurt Hikmet, spokesperson for the Ministry of Peshmerga (Kurdish self-defense forces) said, as cited by Anadolu Agency.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No matter what Obama has promised, we will see troops on the ground in Iraq, and most probably, Syria; the "good reason" will be to "conquer Isis" the real reasons will be to re-control Iraq, and create regime change in Syria.

We already have 4,000 additional ground troops about to begin staging in Kuwait.

As Congress mulls America's war with the Islamic State terror group, more than 4,000 Fort Carson soldiers prepared Thursday to leave for Kuwait, where they will take over as America's largest ground force in the troubled region. The 3rd Brigade Combat Team bid farewell to the post in a ceremony and soon will serve as U.S. Central Command's Reserve force in the Middle East - the first soldiers into battle if a major combat force is used to battle Islamic State fighters.

You cannot bring people 'in country' and expect them to "wait" before deployment. They must be utilized, and quickly.

And BTW, does anyone, except me, remember the cleric Muqtata Al Sadr, who demanded that the US honor their SOFA with the Iraqi government, or our troops would come under attack?!?

This guy is still alive and kicking.

I shudder to think about what he and the Mahdi Army will be willing to do, if he sees that US troops are back, on the ground, in Iraq.

UN Security Council Demands Houthi Rebels Relinquish Control Of Yemen Government, End Violence

The United Nations Security Council on Sunday unanimously adopted a resolution demanding that Shiite rebels immediately relinquish control of Yemen's government in a crisis that has pushed the Arab world's poorest country near collapse.

Arab countries have been pressing for the use of military force against what they call the rebel group's "illegitimate seizure of power." But the resolution approved by all 15 council members at an emergency meeting does not act under Chapter 7 of the U.N. Charter, which would allow it to be militarily enforced.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A small memo to the UN Security Council: JUST HOW, PLEASE, DO YOU INTEND TO ENFORCE YOUR DEMAND?!?

Are these people going to give up graciously and apologize for having taken over the government?!?!?

In the immortal words of my late grandmother, "The horse is already out of the barn."

For whoever at the UN Security believed that the power of their words, with no military action, would have any effect here, we need to talk: I've got a diamond mine in Topeka to sell you!!

Escalation: US Sending Over 4,000 Ground Troops to Kuwait

President Obama hasn’t gotten approval for his “intentionally vague” Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) against ISIS, but the Pentagon is already scrambling to escalate its military presence in the region in preparation of the ground war it would start.

Over 4,000 ground combat troops from Fort Carson’s 3rd Brigade are being sent to Kuwait under this new deployment, where they will make up the region’s largest collection of US ground troops, which will include heavy armored vehicles.

Even as President Obama continues to deny plans for a ground war, it’s not a secret what the troops are being sent to Kuwait for, and officials say they’re prepared for “any contingency,” which in this context means a fight with ISIS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF Obama does not get the Congressional Authorization for a use of force, he will do what he wants with one, or several Executive Orders.

It is a fascinating component to his personality, as a former lecturer on Constitutional Law, to see that he believes, as President, he is absolutely and utterly above the law.

Extrajudicial assassinations in foreign countries? No problem! The sending of forces to the Middle East to project US military power and ultimately engage in ground combat without Congressional approval?!? No problem! To surveille everything everyone says or writes in a blog to determine if they are a "threat potential"? No problem!!

He just did the last one yesterday, via Executive Order.

As reported yesterday in zerohedge.com:

Here come the "information sharing and analysis organizations", or ISAOs. * * * In the aftermath of the Snowden whistleblowing scandal which has now all but been forgotten, there was a brief period when it seemed the growth of the US spying apparatus would be halted if not put into reverse. Those days are long forgotten and later today Obama is expected to to sign an executive order "that aims to make it easier for the government to share classified cyberthreat information with companies." The spin, as proposed by the WSJ, is that "this will be effort designed to spur collaboration and deter hackers, the White House said." In reality what Obama's latest executive order will do, is expand the universe of entities that has access to the trove of private confidential data contained in the vast government spying apparatus, which as has been made all too clear now focuses as much on US citizens as it does on legitimate foreign threats, and further eviscerate the concept of individual privacy in the US. From Reuters: The order sets the stage for new private-sector led "information sharing and analysis organizations" (ISAOs) - hubs where companies share cyber threat data with each other and with the Department of Homeland Security

Isis war to extend far beyond Iraq and Syria under Obama's proposed plan

Sources say White House plan will bless anti-Isis war for three years and ensure that Obama, like George W Bush, will hand over two wars to his successor.

Several congressional sources familiar with the outlines of the proposal, all of whom expected the White House to formally unveil it on Wednesday, told the Guardian the so-called Authorization to Use Military Force (AUMF) would bless the anti-Isis war for three years.

Congressional language to retroactively justify the six-month-old US war against Isis will not, they said, scrap the broad 9/11-era authorities against al-Qaida, as some congressional Democrats had proposed, meaning the two war authorizations will coexist.

Asked if the anti-Isis AUMF opens the US to a second worldwide war against a nebulous adversary, one congressional aide answered: “Absolutely.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The 3 year timeline in this authorization is a lousy "gift" with which to burden the coming administration, and seems to bring about the conditions leading to a perpetual state of war, something which appears to be what both parties want, in the names of those military industrial corporations which support, overtly, and covertly, both parties.
The establishment of perpetual war is a lousy principle from which create foreign policy, and really lousy for We the People.

Deserted US Embassy In Yemen Immediately Seized By Armed Rebels

.... And it's gone.

Moments after its US inhabitants leave the embassy in Yemen for one final time, it is now officially owned by the new, less than supported by the US, rebel regime.

ARMED HOUTHI REBELS SEIZE U.S. EMBASSY VEHICLES AFTER AMBASSADOR, DIPLOMATS LEAVE COUNTRY - LOCAL MEMBERS OF EMBASSY STAFF

Webmaster's Commentary:

Closing an embassy is many times a prelude to a war against those people who took over the country.

Whether this will happen remains to be seen; all that we can say, with any certainty, is that the Obama Administration's policy in Yemen has been an abysmal, epic flustercluck.

The United States, Britain and France said Wednesday they were closing their embassies in Yemen amid the turmoil in the wake of the Shiite rebels' takeover of the country.

The closures — almost four years to the date since the start of an Arab Spring uprising that ousted Yemen's longtime autocratic ruler — were an ominous sign for the faltering, U.N.-brokered negotiations between the Houthi rebels and their political rivals, They also threatened to plunge this impoverished Arabian Peninsula country further into international isolation.

Emirates Launches Airstrikes From Jordan on Islamic State

The United Arab Emirates launched airstrikes Tuesday against the Islamic State group from an air base in Jordan, marking its return to combat operations against the militants after it halted flights late last year.

The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces said Emirati F-16s carried out a series of strikes Tuesday morning, according to a brief statement carried by the Gulf nation's official WAM news agency.

The fighters returned safely back to base after striking their targets, the statement said. It did not elaborate, nor did it say whether the strikes happened in Syria or Iraq. The militants hold roughly a third of each country in a self-declared caliphate.

2,000 UK troops, RAF spy plane bound for Jordan to combat ISIS

The UK will send 2,000 specialist troops and a spy plane to Jordan to aid its efforts to defeat the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), a government source has revealed.

The decision follows criticism from the Commons Defence Select Committee that the UK was not committing sufficient troops or resources to the area.

An initial group of 60 military planners will join a coalition HQ in Jordan, which will be used to co-ordinate support of Kurdish and Iraqi troops, followed by a further 2,000 who will mainly act in a training capacity, the source told the Express.

The UK’s increased involvement follows Jordan’s decision to extend airstrikes from Syria to Iraq.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This situation is escalating exponentially, and I have to wonder: will the RAF be bombing ISIS infrastructure, or that of the Syrian government, in order to "soften Syria up" for a UK/US/Jordanian ground strike in order to achieve regime change here?!?

Only time will tell, but I am seeing a massive increase in military activity in Iraq and beyond.

US shipload of weapons and ammunition arrives in Lebanon

The U.S. ambassador to Lebanon said Sunday that $25 million worth of weapons and ammunition have arrived in Beirut, the latest American assistance to Lebanon’s army as it fights Islamic extremists along the border with Syria.

Ambassador David Hale said the equipment includes more than 70 M198 howitzers and over 26 million rounds of ammunition and artillery “of all shapes and sizes, including heavy artillery.”

Hale told reporters that Lebanon has become the fifth-largest recipient of U.S. foreign military assistance. He added that weapons worth more than $100 million were given to Lebanon last year and over a $1 billion worth in the last eight years.

He said the U.S. help to Lebanon will continue “until the job is done.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

What, I wonder, is the actual meaning of Ambassador Hale's very ominous statement that "...the U.S. help to Lebanon will continue “until the job is done.”?

I wish he had been more specific on that.

Does this mean that the fighting will continue until the world accepts US dollar hegemony at the cost of millions of lives and infrastructure destroyed world-wide?!?

Three days of bombing targeted ISIS depots, barracks and training centres
Officials had promised to retaliate harshly after Moaz al Kasasbeh's murder
Campaign, believed to be targeting Syria, called Operation Martyr Moaz in pilot's memory.

Webmaster's Commentary:

LEAKED EVIDENCE: Sen. John McCain Involved In Major Islamic Conspiracy To Establish Islamic State

Recently revealed conversations between the Pentagon and the Gadhafi regime in 2011 show that then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was serving the Muslim Brotherhood by pushing a false narrative to justify the removal of Muammar Gadhafi, as Shoebat.com has reported. With the help of corroborating evidence, we’re closer to proving that Republican Senator John McCain was likely just as invested in facilitating the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya as Hillary was. FLASHBACK - Biden Admits the Origin of ISIS

US Vice President Joe Biden has made the latest in a series of chastening apologies, after the United Arab Emirates expressed “astonishment” at his Thursday remarks. Biden called US allies “the biggest problem” in fighting terrorism in the Middle East.

“The UAE’s counter-terrorism approach reflects a pioneering national commitment that recognises the extent of the danger posed by terrorism to the region and to its people,” said Gargash in a press release.

The assertions were in stark contrast to the incendiary remarks Biden uttered in an unguarded moment during a Q&A at Harvard University on Thursday, in which the official accused the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey of inciting radical Sunni elements to raise their weapons against Assad, who belongs to a sect of Shia Islam.

We need to look much deeper here to see who may have had a hand, albeit indirectly, in the horrific death of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh. Jordan is far from innocent when examining who is responsible for the creation of ISIS.

It has been known, for almost two years now, that Jordan has been allowing its territory to be used for the training of rebels fighting the Assad regime in Syria. The “effort is led by the US”, but has also included French and British instructors. The British element was providing “logistical and other advice” to the rebels; with ‘other advice’ possible being tactical information.

The Failed 'Yemen Model'

Last September President Obama cited his drone program in Yemen as a successful model of US anti-terrorism strategy. He said that he would employ the Yemen model in his effort to "degrade and ultimately destroy" ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

But just a week ago, the government in Yemen fell to a Shite militia movement thought to be friendly to Iran. The US embassy in Yemen's capitol was forced to evacuate personnel and shut down operations.

If Yemen is any kind of model, it is a model of how badly US interventionism has failed.

Benjamin Netanyahu Stuns Israel Backers by Embracing Republicans on Iran

Within one week, the fundamentals of the mainstream pro-Israel community have been shaken like never before.

Its centerpiece legislative effort — the drive to impose new sanctions on Iran — has been frozen in place and, more importantly, the notion that support for Israel is a bipartisan issue in American politics has suffered a serious blow.

The source of the setbacks suffered by the organized Jewish community could be tracked down to one event: House Speaker John Boehner’s January 21 invitation to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to speak on Iran in front of a joint meeting of Congress — and Netanyahu’s acceptance of the invitation, by prearrangement — without consulting Boehner’s Democratic counterparts and without telling President Obama about his outreach to a head of state to visit. From that moment, events spiraled downward quickly, leaving the community with more questions than answers and with blame being assigned in all directions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Representative Yarmuth: there are many times when the goals and needs of the Israeli state are not the goals and needs of the American state, or its people; during those times, We the People, including those who elected you, demand your full attention, and support to, the goals and needs of the American people, particularly when they do not coincide with those of the Israeli government.

The passage of these new sanctions by Congress against Iran will be a prelude to war: you, as a logical person, have to understand that.

If Iran is attacked, one of the oldest practicing Jewish communities in the world, from the times of ancient Babylon, may well be obliterated. As an American Jew, sir, how do you feel about that?!? Are these brother and sister Jews merely "collateral damage"?!?

IF the P5+1 is unable to come to agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program, this coming war, most likely to be instigated by Israel, will draw the US in, and probably Russia and China, on the side of Iran.

I would like to politely remind you that at this point in its history, the US military does not have the troop strength; the manufacturing; or money necessary to insure a positive outcome with either Russia or China in a conventional war; and that is what makes the military scenario so scarily dangerous.

Representative Yarmuth, I would very strongly caution all those who may be thinking about advocating for the passage of these sanctions on the following; please be very, very careful about what you wish for as an outcome here. The unintended consequences of such a war could be both horrific... and irreversible.

Pelosi: Netanyahu speech to Congress could wreck Iran talks on nuclear weapons

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s scheduled speech to the U.S. Congress in March could damage the Obama administration’s attempts to broker a deal with Iran on nuclear weapons development, the senior U.S. House of Representatives Democrat said on Wednesday.

“Such a presentation could send the wrong message in terms of giving diplomacy a chance,” said Representative Nancy Pelosi during a news conference on the sidelines of an annual retreat for Democratic lawmakers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a native San Franciscan myself, Congresswoman Pelosi, I am simultaneously cringing, and wondering if you believe you should be congratulated for your magnificent grasp of the obvious.

Congresswoman Pelosi, of COURSE, that is precisely what Netanyahu will attempt to do with his joint address to Congress, then figure AIPAC will take care of the rest of the damage to American diplomacy with their usual basket of tricks. And if he and AIPAC are allowed to get away with sabotaging the P5+1 talks (to which, BTW, Israel is NOT a signatory), here is the probable outcome.

1. It will become painfully transparent, to both Americans and the world, that Israel has a stranglehold on American foreign policy; therefore, the US can no longer be perceived as an "independent, honest broker" in ANY dispute in the world, and will be shunned as a pariah.

2. The Iranian delegation will leave the peace talks permanently, understanding that it is futile to try to broker any deal with the US continuing to be held in Israel's Svengali-like grip.

3. Israel will most probably attack Iran, bringing the US military in on their side. In fact, were I a betting person, I would not bet against the possibility that Israel might attack Iran's nuclear facilities before the P5+1 talks have concluded; Superbowl Saturday, when most Americans are focused on football and food, might be

4. Hezbollah will attack Israel from the North.

5. The casualties on Israeli soil will be far higher than predicted.

6. Russia may well join Iran in their fight against the US and Israel; Russia and Iran have just signed a military "memorandum of understanding" this month.

So, in summation, unfortunately, just because leveraging more sanctions against Iran would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly counterproductive thing Congress could do at this time, is absolutely no guarantee they won't do it.

I am sure that those of you in Congress who are heavily invested in stocks in the military industrial complex will be very happy to see more sanctions go down, because, most generally, sanctions are a prelude to war.

1,000 paratroopers from Panther Brigade headed to Iraq this week

The 82nd Airborne, and more specifically its 3rd Brigade Combat Team, are no strangers to Iraq.

Since 2003, parts of the brigade have deployed in support of U.S. efforts there on at least three occasions.

Now, more than three years after the U.S. military presence in Iraq was thought over, about a quarter of the Panther Brigade will return with a new mission to help train Iraqi forces to fight the Islamic State.

About 1,000 paratroopers from the brigade will deploy this week as part of the Operation Inherent Resolve mission.

The deployment was officially announced in December and is expected to last nine months.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US has sent "trainers" for the Iraqi military, frequently during the previous occupation of Iraq; I seriously doubt that these "trainers" are going to get a much different reaction.

Unless, of course, the term "trainers" is simply a euphemism the US government and military thought, for one second, the US public would swallow, for troops pre-positioned to attack in Syria, Iran, or defend Israel against Hezbollah.

U.S. counterterrorism operations ongoing in Yemen

President Barack Obama defended his counterterrorism strategy in tumultuous Yemen Sunday, saying efforts to root out a dangerous al-Qaida affiliate there would not be affected by the political vacuum in the country.

The U.S. campaign against al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula is heavily dependent on using drone strikes to take out terror targets. Obama has held up that approach as a model for the military mission against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria, which relies on airstrikes instead of U.S. ground troops.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"...political vacuum", my ASTROLABE!!!

Mr. President, the Houthi rebels have flipping taken over the country, and the President and Cabinet have resigned (if not fled, outright, from the country.)

IF your strategy had worked, sir, the rebels would not have taken over the country, period, end of discussion.

In the immortal words of my late maternal grandmother, "The horse is already out of the barn."

You policy for Yemen can only be described as another "epic fail" in foreign policy for you.

And I had to appreciate the delicious, bitter irony of timing here: this happened precisely on the day you made the SOTU speech.

Doing the same thing (like drone strikes) over and over again, in precisely the same way, yet expecting a different outcome is a classic psychological definition of insanity.

Sir, get a grip, get a clue, and would someone in this guy's inner circle please sit this man down, and have a chat about "reality" not being a fabrication of his imagination, but very, very real facts on the ground which, although unpleasant, are completely true.

John Boehner invites Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu to address Congress

U.S. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday to address a joint meeting of Congress on Feb. 11.

“In this time of challenge, I am asking the prime minister to address Congress on the grave threats radical Islam and Iran pose to our security and way of life,” Boehner said in a statement.

The invitation came a day after U.S. President Barack Obama said in his State of the Union address he would veto legislation that toughens sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to John Boehner: forgive me, sir, but how in the name of Heaven does Iran pose a grave threat to the lives of Americans, or Israelis, for that matter?!?!?

Iran hasn't started a war in over 200 years, and their negotiators at the P5+1 meetings are working, to the best of the IAEA's understanding, to achieve a meaningful, workable pact with the West on their nuclear energy program.

I would also like to mention that Iran has one of the oldest continuing Jewish populations in the Middle East, and many of them are so contented in Iran, that they have no desire to move to Israel.

I would strongly suggest that you view the video "Don't Tell Mother I'm In Iran", filmed by a charming young videographer, who meets with Jewish members of the Iranian community in Tehran, including a merchant who is himself a member of Iran's Parliament.

Sir, Prime Minister Netanyahu has not been shy on demanding that the US invade Iran and "neutralize" the country for Israel's benefit, without the IDF lifting a finger.

I would, very strongly suggest that if Netanyahu wishes Iran to be "neutralized", that the Israeli military is strong enough to take care of that on their own.

And JUST IN CASE you did not get the memo (as I did, this morning, websurfing the news), Russia has just signed a military pact with Iran. This means that a US invasion against Iran will mean war with Russia.

So sir, do you have the gall to state, bluntly and publicly to the American people, that we have the troop strength, the money, and the manufacturing, to insure a positive outcome to such a conventional war against Russia?!?

Were you telling the truth, I don't think you would be so brazen as to answer the above questions with an uniquivocal, difinitive "yes".

Protests Escalate in Bahrain as Authorities Crack Down

- Thousands of Bahrainis held nationwide rallies demanding the release of opposition leader. Bahrain’s top opposition figure Sheikh Ali Salman has called on people across the Persian Gulf country not to remain silent in the face of the Al Khalifa regime’s atrocities and press ahead with their protests.

Bahraini forces attack anti-regime protesters

Bahrainis have held yet another protest in the capital, Manama, against the Al Khalifa crackdown on anti-regime demonstrations.

Security forces on Thursday opened fire on the demonstrators demanding the release of detained opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman.

The forces also stormed into a mosque in Manama and arrested a number of protesters.

For Sale To The Highest Bidder – How Middle Eastern Governments Are Buying Off The US Political Process

The quaint notion that the U.S. political system remotely resembles either a Republic or a Democracy should have been abandoned long ago. Any lingering illusions were surely extinguished last year, when an academic study empirically proved that the USA is nothing more than a corrupt oligarchy.

While having super rich and powerful American oligarchs running the show is one thing, the reality of the situation is actually far worse. Thanks to a recent article in Vice, we now know that foreign governments are aggressively employing their extraordinary wealth to advance their interests here on American soil. In many cases, these are autocratic regimes, which not only do not care about the best interests of the nation, they are often caught actively funding ISIS and even perpetuating 9/11 itself. Here are some excerpts from the piece:

Webmaster's Commentary:

It doesn't surprise me that these former politicians are whores for the money - ANYONE'S money; but this behaviour simply makes abundantly, and painfully clear that they absolutely do not give a rat's anus about We the People.

Warning to Nations: Don't Cross Israel

With France taking measures decisively sympathetic to Islam, why would Muslim zealots suddenly choose THIS MOMENT to murder a dozen French citizens, an act that would certainly turn French public opinion against Muslims and in favor of Israel?

Jan 09 07:23

THE CHARLIE HEBDO ATTACK 7.1.2015 We should be swift to condemn atrocity, but slow to jump to conclusions

We should be swift to condemn atrocity, whether from East or West (and West has been guilty of plenty) but slow to jump to conclusions as to perpetrators or motive of violent outrages such as this one today, in the offices of Charlie Hebdo, the French weekly satirical magazine. Recent history and events have taught us that, at least.

The reality is that these barbarous acts are embedded in, and cannot be extricated from, the whole Middle East mess, for which we cannot escape partial responsibility. The bottom line is that the role of France and other Western countries in Syria and elsewhere has probably more to do with today’s outrage than a few cartoons and the issue of free speech to which the public’s attention has been directed.

The greatest trick Obama ever pulled was convincing the world America isn’t still at war

The holiday headlines blared without a hint of distrust: “End of War” and “Mission Ends” and “U.S. formally ends the war in Afghanistan,” as the U.S. government and Nato celebrated the alleged end of the longest war in American history. Great news! Except, that is, when you read past the first paragraph: “the fighting is as intense as it has ever been since the U.S.-led invasion in 2001,” according to the Wall Street Journal . And about 10,000 troops will remain there for the foreseeable future (more than we had a year after the Afghan war started ). Oh, and they’ll continue to engage in combat regularly . But other than that, yeah, the war is definitely over.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And I can nearly guarantee you; the current wars are prologue for future wars, potentially against China and Russia to prevent the end of dominance by the US dollar.

The US government is financially on the ropes, and the only way the members of this government have known, historically, to get off those ropes, is to wage war.

This country experienced two massive depressions, followed, inevitably by war. Although the presstitutes dare not mention it, we are in another massive recession right now, because all the decently paying jobs, which used to support this country's middle class, have been offshored/outsourced to places with nearly slave labor wages.

And please, if you don't believe me, take a look at this; last year, Charlie Rangel, the senior Congressional Representative from New York, introduced a bill to reinstate the draft; but this time, should this be passed, it will be coming for both our sons and our daughters. When last I checked this month, it is still in Committee, waiting for the "right emotional moment" to be passed.

Political Crisis in Bahrain: Major Protests Following Arrest of Opposition Movement Leader

The Secretary General of Al Wefaq Society was arrested on Monday 29th December and remained in custody for one week. He had been summoned by the Alkhalifa torturers and questioned for two days before the dictator decided to exact revenge from him by detaining him for one week. Sheikh Salman is known for his soft language and tone, and has steered Al Wefaq within the Alkhalifa laws. But the tyrant has been enraged by the decision of the political societies led by Al Wefaq to boycott the regime’s hollow elections in November. It was a strong slap on his face because it showed the lack of popular support or legitimacy to his rule. The Alkhalifa and their Saudi and British backers had hoped that those elections would provide a plausible exit from the political crisis that has engulfed the country since the eruption of the 14th February Revolution.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You didn't need a crystal ball to see this coming, over the last several years.

In 2015, we may well see peaceful movements for change in Bahrain turn violent.

And Saudi Arabia, with a projected budget deficit of $38.6 billion for this year, may not have the money to send in Saudi troops to put down demonstrations, as it did a couple of years ago.

The US Navy's 5th Fleet calls Bahrain its home. So what will the Al Khalifa monarchy ask the US government to do, I wonder, and to what degree will the the US government comply in suppressing unrest in order to keep the Navy's Fifth Fleet there?!?

It will be curious to see how this unfolds.

America stabs its Arab allies in the back

The US-Arab alliance is one of the strangest and most interesting in the world, perhaps even in history. It is certainly the most one-sided, whereby America takes everything from its Arab allies and gives them nothing in return. The US attitude is disrespectful, untactful and inflexible. Washington gives Arab governments nothing to work with and nothing to give to their people, not even a fig leaf for appearances' sake.

The most recent example of this disrespect by the US was its open contempt for its Arab allies when it voted against the draft UN Security Council resolution to end the Israeli occupation of part of the occupied Palestinian territories. This resolution is based on what is known as "international legitimacy" despite the fact that the Palestinians went to the Security Council stripped of all their historical rights. However, this did not help them or gain the acceptance of Washington, which seems to disregard the Palestinians in particular and the Arabs in general.

With Israel ‘war crimes’ gambit, PA risks loss of US funding

In initiating a war crimes probe against Israel with the International Criminal Court, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas may fall afoul of US legislation that would mandate defunding the PA. The US funds the PA to the tune of some $400 million per year.

Even if Abbas’s ICC investigation gambit does not play out — and Palestine’s route ahead at the ICC is strewn with legal obstacles — it is viewed by many leaders of the incoming Republican-controlled Congress as the latest justification to reexamine the PA’s American funding.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Should the US stop funding the PA, other, more local, Middle Eastern countries could well pick up the slack, like Qatar.

US warns Bahrain opposition leader's arrest could 'inflame tensions'

As Sheikh Ali Salman remains in custody after leading protest against November elections, state department says more unrest may be on the horizon.

The State Department has expressed deep concern over the detention of the Bahraini opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman, warning the arrest could lead to more tensions in the island kingdom.

Sheikh Salman, head of the al-Wefaq Islamic Society, was arrested on Sunday after leading a protest rally against elections in November which his party boycotted. He was remanded in custody for a further week on Tuesday.

“Opposition parties that peacefully voice criticism of the government play a vital role in inclusive, pluralistic states and societies,” the State Department said in a statement on Wednesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is hypocrisy writ large, on the part of the US State Department, and it stinks to high heaven.

Because Bahrain is home to the US Navy's 5th fleet, the US government has continued to enable the Sunni Al-Khalifa monarchy against its largely Shiite population. So far, these protests have been peaceful.

But these protestors have not only been arrested, tortured, then imprisoned after their arrests in a complete kangaroo court environment; the first responders who treated their wounds, meted out at the hands of the Bahraini police, have also been arrested, tortured, and jailed also.

The outlook for any real peace and democracy looks pretty dismal indeed.

The last President Kennedy said it best: "where peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

‘Caught in dragnet’: Innocent charities lose millions due to anti-terror laws

British charities working in conflict zones are being cut off from millions of pounds worth of funding due to counter-terrorism legislation, a report published on Wednesday suggests.

The paper, produced by the Demos think tank, shows that a wide range of charities, especially those operating in the Middle East, have been affected as major banks continue to shut down bank accounts they believe might be linked to funding terrorist activity.

“Certain users of the banking system deemed to be high risk have found it ever harder to receive, send and store their money,” said the Royal United Services Institute’s (RUSI) director for financial crime and security studies, Tom Keatinge, who authored the report.

“In the worst cases they have had their bank accounts closed, losing financial access.”

America stumbles through another year, spreading chaos and trivia everywhere in its path

Senator Graham, regarded neither as an idealist nor a voice for peace, is only doing what so many American politicians do under the unbelievably corrupt, money-drenched American election system, and that is to make ridiculous public statements about the Middle East in return for generous dollops of campaign funds from the world’s most tireless political lobby, that for Israel. You might think that the lobby itself would tire of funding backwater blowhards demanding the other ninety-five percent of humanity play the game by America’s rules or America is picking up its marbles or chips or whatever and going home, but clearly it does not.

America’s Toxic Middle East Allies

U.S. allies in the Persian Gulf have a history of directly supporting or at least allowing private funds to flow to terrorist groups. This phenomenon has its roots in the U.S. and Saudi-backed Afghan insurgency against the Soviet Union, which included aid to the so-called “Arab Afghans” who joined the indigenous insurgency. The impact on Saudi society, and the broader Middle East, was profound.

At the same time, Gulf monarchies view these terrorist groups as a serious threat. But the Saudi state is inhibited in dealing with terrorist financing, as it cannot afford to estrange the powerful clerical establishment that permeates society and is comparatively unabashed about funding jihadists.

Bahrain Adopts Israel Strategy To Alter Demographics

Prominent Bahraini human rights activist Nabeel Rajab accused Bahrain’s ruling family of seeking to change Bahrain’s demography by adopting a strategy similar to that used by the UK in the creation of Israel.

Talking to Iranian news channel Press TV, Rajab said the systematic naturalization of foreigners and the deportation of locals after revoking their citizenships are proof that al-Khalifa family is implementing the same strategy that Britain implemented in Palestine.

Dozens of Bahrainis have had their citizenship revoked and several have also been deported since Bahrain adopted the Bahraini Citizenship Law last year stipulating that suspects convicted of “terrorist” acts could be stripped of their nationality.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable.

And a short memo to the Al-Khalifa monarchy: in doing this, you are sowing the seeds for this monarchy's destruction.

US meddling to blame for ‘all Arab world sufferings’ – Sudan president

The bloody conflicts in Iraq, Syria and Libya are the result of the interference by the US, which wants to gain control over the rich natural resources of those countries, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir told RT.

“The people in Sudan believe that the since the fall of the Soviet Union [in 1991], injustice and oppression has prevailed around the globe as the US became the sole hegemon and began running things with impunity in many regions, including ours,” Bashir said.

In his interview with RT’s Arabic Channel, the Sudanese president labeled Washington’s policies in Middle East and North Africa as “harmful and destructive.”

“Just look at what’s now happening in Iraq and how it spread to Syria. All the suffering that is going in the Arab world is the work of the US,” he said.

Pentagon in Denial About Civilian Casualties of U.S. Airstrikes in Iraq and Syria

The Pentagon accepts that with many hundreds of allied bombings aimed at Islamic State targets since August, there is a “continued risk inherent in these strikes” for civilians on the ground. But that doesn’t mean the United States will offer compensation if it kills them.

The United States is not planning to grant compensation for civilians killed in airstrikes in Iraq and Syria, Foreign Policy has learned, despite claims by credible groups that at least 100 noncombatants may already have died in the 16 weeks of U.S.-led bombings.

The decision, confirmed by a senior spokesman for U.S. Central Command (Centcom), the military command organization in charge of the air war, marks a significant departure from recent conflicts, in which payments have regularly been made to those affected by U.S. military actions.

In a 300-119 vote, the House has approved the newest annual military spending bill, pumping another $585 billion into the Pentagon for assorted wars, including the newest war against ISIS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia and China are making deals around the globe to get what they want. What is the US government doing?!? Creating wars and more wars.

And BTW: any military professional worth their salt will tell you, and in no uncertain terms that you cannot win what is essentially a ground war from the air. And this will, ultimately, translate, into more boots on the ground in Iraq and Syria.

Zionism And ISIS: Opposing Forces Or Two Sides Of The Same Coin?

Over the past decade, the Middle East — the cradle of civilization and the birthplace of the three major monotheistic religions — has become a flashpoint for religious extremism and fascism. The general public has grown used to associating radicalism with Islam, even to such an extent that the general notion is that the Islamic faith is the expression of religious extremism par excellence.

Yet such assessments have generally failed to take into account an equally dangerous radical trend that has been unfolding in the region for decades — Zionism.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I remember, as a kid, watching Khrushchev at the UN, banging his shoe on the table, and the translation of what he was saying was given as, "We will bury you!", which was construed by the "translator" as a threat against the US.

Of course, that was a complete mistranslation, and misrepresentation of what the man actually said. The real translation was "You will bury yourselves."

I think of those Jews, many of whom had escaped death during the Holocaust, who founded Israel.

And I have to wonder: is what Israel has become what they really wanted to see evolve?!?

A viciously apartheid, xenophobic culture, hating Muslim Arabs so intensely that many in government and Jewish faith communities have, sometimes very publicly, advocated their own, "Final Solution" to "The Arab Problem"?!?

There is a term in psychology called "enabling". It is when someone encourages someone else to do something that is bad and risky for that person, but -for their own reasons - continues to encourage this bad behaviour.

When one nation enables another nation's bad behaviour on the world stage, as the US does with Israel, the ultimate outcome cannot be good. And the US has done absolutely nothing to ameliorate the Israeli government's continuous onslaught against the Palestinians. Please note the following, from the Latimes.com, published on 24 July, 2014:

It was supposed to be a place of refuge from a devastating war. Hundreds of people were crammed into a United Nations-run elementary school in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday when the converted shelter was hit by a series of explosions. At least 15 people were killed and more than 120 injured, according to local health officials. Survivors said they had packed their belongings and were gathered in the schoolyard awaiting evacuation when the shells hit. But the circumstances remained murky late in the day. The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees said it had asked the Israeli liaison office repeatedly for a window of time in which to evacuate the staff and displaced people who wanted to leave the school. “We got no answer,” said Adnan abu Hasna, a spokesman for the U.N. Relief and Works Agency, or UNRWA. Survivors said they were waiting to leave when the shells hit.

These actions, coupled with brisk annexations of territories in which Palestinians have lived for generations; the routine torture of prisoners, including children;the daily killing of Palestinians in peaceful protest all lead to one inevitable conclusion: that Israel, as a country, is hell-bent on a complete genocide of all Palestinians, and a complete reconquering of the land, to, at last, create "Eretz Israel", or "Greater Israel."

I would strongly caution both the Israeli government, and certain religious leaders to be very, very careful about what they wish for here.

A physical victory in this regard may well lead to a moral, and spiritual curse upon this nation so intense that it can never, ever be unbroken.

Saudi Arabia Declares Oil War on US Fracking, hits Railroads, Tank-Car Makers, Canada, Russia; Sinks Venezuela

When OPEC announced on Thanksgiving Day that it would maintain oil production at 30 million barrels per day, chaos broke out in the oil market, and the price of oil around the globe spiraled into a terrific plunge. The unity of OPEC, if there ever was such a thing, was in tatters with Saudi oil minister smiling victoriously, and with a steaming Venezuelan oil minister thinking of the turmoil his country is facing [OPEC Refuses to Cut Production, Oil Plunges off the Chart].

During the closed-door meetings in Vienna, Saudi oil minister Ali al-Naimi told OPEC members that OPEC had to combat the US fracking boom. If OPEC cut output to raise the price of oil, it would lose market share, he argued. The way to win would be to allow overproduction to depress prices to the point where they would destroy the profitability of North American producers. And they’d have to cut production, rather than OPEC.

Oil at $40 Possible as Market Redraws Politics From Caracas to Tehran

Oil’s decline is proving to be the worst since the collapse of the financial system in 2008 and threatening to have the same global impact of falling prices three decades ago that led to the Mexican debt crisis and the end of the Soviet Union.

Russia, the world’s largest producer, can no longer rely on the same oil revenues to rescue an economy suffering from European and U.S. sanctions. Iran, also reeling from similar sanctions, will need to reduce subsidies that have partly insulated its growing population. Nigeria, fighting an Islamic insurgency, and Venezuela, crippled by failing political and economic policies, also rank among the biggest losers from the decision by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries last week to let the force of the market determine what some experts say will be the first free-fall in decades.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is precisely the outcome the US government wanted to see happen, particularly concerning Russia, and coupled with US sanctions.

I would, however, strongly caution this government to be very careful about what it wishes for here: global destabilization could well have an industrial-strength blowback for this administration, and for which it may be singularly unprepared.

Obama's Mercenary Attacks On Syria Are Breaking The Law

According to the Washington Post the U.S. administration is discussing to increase the numbers of CIA trained mercenaries in Syria:

The Obama administration has been weighing plans to escalate the CIA’s role in arming and training fighters in Syria, a move aimed at accelerating covert U.S. support to moderate rebel factions while the Pentagon is preparing to establish its own training bases, U.S. officials said.

The administration knows very well that the legal ground it is standing on is very, very weak. The people it trains are criminals and do not observe basic laws of war or human rights. The administration's solution to breaking the law is trying to change it:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Breaking - and or changing - the laws of this country in order to achieve their objectives, is nothing new to this Administration.

And those objectives here have to do with wars creating private personal profit of the large corporations, coupled with the continuation of the hegemony of the US dollar.

We know that regime change in Syria, according to this Administration, is the prelude to regime change in Iran: but at what cost to our troops, militarily, monetarily, or morally?!?

From an historical standpoint, sending in "advisers" has never augured well for this country. So far, any training of rebels against Al-Assad's military has been an exercise in complete futility.

And because it is understood in military circles that one cannot win what is essentially a ground war from the air, when will we see the first US boots on the ground in Syria, if, in fact they are not already covertly there?!?

With this article stating "Around 2,000 Syrian fighters are slated to be given military training, which is set to begin at the end of December.", I would not be surprised to see US boots on the ground in Syria the very first part of next year, late winter, early spring.

BUT there is a teensy-weensy fly in the ointment here. As reported September 13th 2013 in examiner.com:

As noted on the official website of the University of Washington's Jackson School of International Studies (Jenkins, 17), the Russian Federation maintains mutual defense treaties with both Syria and Iran. Russia has stated on more than one occasion that “Iran is our close neighbor, just south of the Caucasus. Should anything happen to Iran, should Iran get drawn into any political or military hardships, this will be a direct threat to our national security.” An Attack On One Is An Attack On All... With the civil war ravaged Syrian nation bordering America's Turkish NATO partner to its south, if any of Assad's forces strike sovereign Turkish territory, the Ankara government could not only legitimately strike back, but every NATO member state would be treaty bound to militarily assist in any armed response. Subsequently, both the Russians and the Iranians would have no choice but to come to the defense of their mutual ally in Damascus.

So, any US military incursion into EITHER Syria or Iran will require Russia coming to either country's aid militarily.

And I have to wonder: is a full frontal US military attack against Syria their "back door" to a war against Russia?!?

And to our President, Congress, State Department and Pentagon: I would like to politely suggest that I am, surely, not the only American to have figured this out.

Airstrikes Fail to Slow ISIS' Iraq Killing Spree, Database Suggests

U.S.-led airstrikes have failed to slow the number of ISIS attacks and its defiant militants are now racking up a higher body count than ever before, according to data provided exclusively to NBC News.

Analysis of IHS Jane's Terrorism and Insurgency Center's (JTIC) database shows the current face — and pace — of the group's battle for Syria and Iraq.

Data showed that ISIS massively stepped up attacks after conquering the Iraqi city of Mosul on June 10 — and has stepped them up further since airstrikes were launched in August. Deaths caused by ISIS also climbed since the key city was overrun and have continued to rise since the U.S.-led coalition started bombing the militants.

“The airstrikes certainly aren’t impairing their ability to intensify their attacks or carry out their campaign,” said Matthew Henman, head of the JTIC. “They’re not cowed by them, they’re not afraid.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

IT appears to me that these jihadists are taylor-made as the "excuse" for invasion 3.0 of Iraq, in an attempt to "groom" the American people toward yet another war here, to control both the oil,, and the monetary denomination in which that oil is sold (read: the US dollar).

Anyone with any insight into military tactics understands one thing: any military force cannot win what is essentially a ground war from the air.

Considering how "well" the last two invasions of Iraq have gone, it would be the most pig-headedly, ham-fistedly stupid thing for the US to reinvade now.

Unfortunately, however, just because something is a spectacularly stupid thing to be doing is absolutley no guarantee that the US government and military will not do it.

And... by the way, does it appear that both the Pentagon and State Department are experiencing SMD (selective memory disorder) regarding one guy here, who has the loyalty (including a commitment to fight) of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis?!?

I am referring, of course to Muqtada al Sadr, the Shiite Iranian cleric, who could mobiize an army in Iraq in a heartbeat. IF this guy still considers our country, and our military "the enemy" of the Iraqi people, (and there is no evidence to suggest that he has changed his mind on this issue), our soldiers are going to be in a world of hurt here, and hated by all sides.

I would also like to politely point out that until Saddam Hussein was lynched by the Americans, Shiites and Sunnis lived comfortably side by side, with no real beefs against each other.

US policy paper reveals desire for construction of full-scale extraterritorial army to invade Syria. Such an army is being built in Iraq and Turkey and it's called "ISIS."

Jordan recalls envoy to Israel over al-Asqa Mosque clashes

Jordan has recalled its ambassador to Israel and moved to lodge a complaint at the United Nations amid attacks by Israeli troops on Palestinians at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds (Jerusalem).

On Wednesday, Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Nsur asked Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh to recall the Jordanian ambassador, Walid Obeidat, from Tel Aviv in protest at what he described as Israeli violations in al-Quds and the holy sites there.

The Jordanian prime minister also instructed the country’s delegation at the UN to file a formal complaint with the UN Security Council against Israel.

Pentagon Downplays Mounting Losses in Iraq, Syria

Major losses on both the Iraqi and Syrian sides of the ISIS conflict emerged over the weekend, with ISIS routing a pro-Iraqi govt Sunni tribe and massacring hundreds of them, while Jabhat al-Nusra, al-Qaeda’s wing in Syria, forced a key US-allied moderate rebel faction to surrender.

The Pentagon is trying to downplay the problems, despite these both being clearly huge defeats for their strategy in the ever-escalating war, and is mostly falling back on semantic arguments to deflect concerns.

The Pentagon is trying to downplay the problems, despite these both being clearly huge defeats for their strategy in the ever-escalating war, and is mostly falling back on semantic arguments to deflect concerns.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, it appears that the US has become the USI: The United States of Incompetence.

Unfortunately, the same malaise which seems to have infected the rest of the administration has also hit the Pentagon, and that is the complete inability to think anything through to its logical outcome.

And if there is one lesson that the Pentagon should have absorbed from the Vietnam war, it is that you cannot win what is essentially a ground war from the air.

But let me give you an alternative scenario; if the US government had invested just a very paltry percentage of the money it has spent on the wars against Iraq and Afghanistan on stable, clean alternative energy, which will drive a tank, or power a plane, NONE OF THESE WARS WOULD HAVE BEEN NECESSARY IN THE BLOODY FIRST PLACE!!

The US government patents the device, and the world comes scrambling to the US for this energy.

OF course, THAT... would be logical.

And logic and the US government have not had a comfortable, long-term relationship in quite some time.

Why is there such an explosion of violence across the Middle East? Here's an alternative view...

Not so with America and the war in Syria. “Right from the beginning of this crisis, I never truly felt that the issue was about President Assad,” she says. “It was about the weakening and destruction of Syria. There has been so much destruction – of hospitals, schools, factories, government institutions, you name it. I think the Americans take their battles against leaders and presidents – but only as a pretext to destroy countries. Saddam was not the real target –it was Iraq. And it’s the same for Libya now – America told everyone it was about Gaddafi. The real issue is about weakening the Arab armies, whoever they are. When the Americans invaded Iraq, what was the first thing they did? They dissolved the Iraqi army.”

9/11 Was NATO’s License to Expand Globally

The 9/11 attacks on the United States undoubtedly benefited a number of actors, including the American military-intelligence complex, Israel, and most definitely, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The Cold War-era, the area of responsibility for which had long been confined to Europe and North America, used the provisions of Article 5 of the NATO Charter – which states that an attack on one member is an attack on all – to extend NATO’s power deep into Eurasia, particularly in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

After engaging in out-of-area invasions and occupations of Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Libya, and Syria and, again in Iraq, against the «Islamic State,» the «North Atlantic» military bloc has transformed itself from a Cold War defensive alliance into a global offensive axis of nations that acts with or without United Nations authorization.

US War on Iran Takes Bizarre Turn

It is not Western policy that indirectly spurs the creation and perpetuation of terrorist organizations, but in fact, direct, intentional, unmistakable support.

This support would manifest itself in perhaps the most overt and bizarre declaration of allegiance to terrorism to date, US Army General Hugh Shelton on stage before terrorists of the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq (MEK) and their Wahabist counterparts fighting in Syria, hysterically pledging American material, political, and strategic backing. MEK was listed for years by the US State Department as a foreign terrorist organization, but has received funding, arms, and safe haven by the United States for almost as long.

Who Lost Yemen?

The Huthi’s stunning rise to power is mainly the result of four factors: the incompetence of the interim government installed in 2011, former president Ali Abdullah Saleh’s desire for revenge against those who ousted him in 2011, Saudi Arabia and the UAE’s sharp turn against the Muslim Brotherhood and the astute political leadership of the Huthi movement itself.

The Huthi movement began in the 1990s as civil rights movement for Yemen’s Zaydis. Zaydism is a form of Shiism adhered to by Yemen’s rulers for 1,000 years until 1962, when Yemen became a Republic. The Zaydis believed that the descendants of the Prophet Mohamed’s family through Fatima, one of his daughters, and Ali, her husband, were the only people qualified to lead the Muslim community, and thus people claiming such descent formed a religious aristocracy in northern Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One factor, which goes completely unmentioned here, is the US government's support for the Al-Hadi regime, which was no less corrupt than that of its predecessor.

The late John Kennedy said it best: "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

These trade negations have been passing under the public’s radar, because they have been taking place very discreetly behind closed doors. Like the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which was signed in Ottawa between Canada and the EU on September 26, wordsmiths calculatingly picked the name TTIP to try to hide the fact that it is a free trade agreement.

Notice that ISIS Isn’t Beheading Swiss Citizens

Like the United States, Switzerland has a welfare state and a regulated society.

Yet, notice something important: Switzerland isn’t the subject of terrorist attacks, and the Islamic State isn’t beheading Swiss citizens. Wouldn’t you think that if radical Muslims hate the United States for its freedom and values, they would also hate Switzerland for its freedom and values, especially since the freedom and values of the United States are similar to those of Switzerland, with one major exception?

So, what’s that major exception? Is it possible that that major exception could provide a clue as to which comes first: terrorism or U.S. interventionism?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let me say this straightaway: I do not condone ANY violence, period, end of discussion. That which is hardest, true, good-faith negotiations, is always the best.

However, that having been said, the American government's interventionism and pre-emptive wars (for profit, and maintaining the US dollar as the world's reserve currency) have not won it many friends around the world, particularly if people who have had innocent family members or friends slain, or maimed, as a result of the US government's mucking about with other people's countries.

Yemen Shiite rebels set sights on strategic strait, oilfields

Shiite rebels who breezed into the Yemeni capital unopposed last month are now widely thought to be moving to cement their grip by snatching a strategic strait and oilfields.

The militiamen known as Huthis stormed into Sanaa on September 21, easily seizing key government installations, and they now man checkpoints and run patrols across the city in almost total absence of the security forces.

The rebels, who Yemeni authorities accuse Shiite-ruled Iran of backing, have refused to quit Sanaa despite a UN-brokered deal to give them more influence with the Sunni-dominated government.

Numerous sources in Yemen say the Huthis are now setting their sights on prized assets like the narrow Bab al-Mandeb strait leading to the Suez canal, as well as oilfields in Marib province.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These rebels are very smart, in seizing strategic, revenue producing assets in the region.

I just hope that the Yemenite people get a lot more of their oil revenue, manifesting in schools, health care, and infrastructure projects than they did under al-Hadi.

Time will tell.

FBI Director Warns of ‘Khorasan’ Threat

In comments on today’s “60 Minutes” program, FBI Director James Comey warned that the Khorasan group is “serious people, bent of destruction” who plan to attack the US “very, very soon.”

Comey insisted the US had to act as if the Khorasan strike was “coming tomorrow,” but conceded that they don’t know whether they plan to attack “tomorrow or three weeks or three months from now.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to FBI Director Comey: if there is a "big bang" in this country, it will mean that neither you, the NSA, the CIA, or the FBI, or military intelligence has been able to protect us, and should be collectively SACKED instantly after such an event occurs.

And the US government has another serious problem: few Americans believe ANYTHING this government says anymore, because it has completely paralyzed and crippled its own credibility.

Should there be a crisis inside this country (like a real, exponential outbreak of ebola here), even if the information the government was disseminating was accurate, it would not be believed.

Even if we defeat the Islamic State, we’ll still lose the bigger war

As America’s efforts to “degrade and ultimately destroy” Islamic State militants extend into Syria, Iraq War III has seamlessly morphed into Greater Middle East Battlefield XIV. That is, Syria has become at least the 14th country in the Islamic world that U.S. forces have invaded or occupied or bombed, and in which American soldiers have killed or been killed. And that’s just since 1980.

What Civilian Casualties? To Barack Obama, Women And Children In Syria And Iraq Are A Subhuman Species

One former Obama administration official said the new White House statement raises questions about how the U.S. intends to proceed in the conflict in Syria and Iraq, and under what legal authorities.

Wait, someone actually wondered under what legal authority the Obama administration is killing innocent people? How dare they: don't they know Obama has a Nobel peace prize, so none of his actions are subject to any scrutiny: surely the president himself is his own best moral censor.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am deeply concerned that these strikes, which are both deeply immoral and illegal in the extreme, are going to a larger regional war which, at some point, will include Russia.

As an American who cares deeply about the future road her country is taking, I cannot support them at all. All people in the world should have the right to peaceful self-determination.

But then again, in the grand scheme of things which originate in Sodom on the Potomac, this may be precisely the plan by those in the bowels of power in DC: a regional war which ultimately leads to war with Russia.

I would very politely like to point out that there is no guarantee of a positive outcome to such a war with Russia, because the US military doesn't have the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure such an outcome.

And that is what makes the military scenario so scarily dangerous.

Biden blames US allies in Middle East for rise of ISIS

US Vice-President Joe Biden has accused America’s key allies in the Middle East of allowing the rise of the Islamic State (IS), saying they supported extremists with money and weapons in their eagerness to oust the Assad regime in Syria.

America’s “biggest problem” in Syria is its regional allies, Biden told students at the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University on Thursday.

“Our allies in the region were our largest problem in Syria,” he said, explaining that Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the UAE were “so determined to take down Assad,” that in a sense they started a “proxy Sunni-Shia war” by pouring “hundreds of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of tons of weapons” towards anyone who would fight against Assad.

“And we could not convince our colleagues to stop supplying them,” said Biden, thus disassociating the US from unleashing the civil war in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Perfectly predictable from a man - and the administration he represents - who is pathologically incapable of taking responsibility for ANYTHING!!

That Obama knew this was going on for years, but was impotent to do anything about it?!?!?

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable.

Fox’s new poll and the lie that could lead to more war

I’m guessing most Americans imagine annihilation when they hear the word “defeat.” But it’s worth noting that when he talks about his plan to “degrade and destroy” ISIS, the president is not. And that, ultimately, gets to the heart of why the campaign against ISIS remains so worrying, and why Obama’s depiction of it when he’s speaking to the nation at large is still so reckless. As the Daily Beast’s Michael Tomasky argued weeks ago (while calling on the president to intervene), and as Obama himself has explained when speaking with journalists or experts, destroying ISIS is well outside U.S. capacity. It’s something people in the region will ultimately have to do for themselves.

To avoid being sucked into another doomed invasion and all-out war, that’s something Americans should’ve understood from the beginning. It’s something the president should have told them. He didn’t; they don’t; and the new poll from Fox may be just the beginning.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This writer does a marvelous job of missing the point entirely.

Those in the bowels of power in DC desperately want another major war as a way to potentially get out of the economic crud in which their policies have placed this country, and misdirect people away from the real, honest causes of their financial misery.

In World War I and World War II, the US got out of the financial messes it was in through war. However, I would strongly caution to those few adults in the bowels of power that World War III may not produce the desired result here.

They want control over all Middle East oil, and the currency in which that oil is sold.

The US public is being "groomed" for another major war in the Middle East, plus a war against Russia.

The US has gone out of its way to surround Russia with nuclear missile encampments on its borders.

I would like to politely point out that the US military does not have the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia; and that is what makes the military option here so scarily dangerous.

US Expands Syria Strikes: Not Just a War Against ISIS

US airstrikes seem to be expanding in scope today in Syria, with four different provinces of the country hit in attacks, including areas where ISIS is virtually non-existent.

President Obama has been insisting it is an oversimplification to say this war is America versus ISIS. Indeed, that’s the case, but while the president is seeking to downplay the scope of the conflict, the signs are that he’s at war with actually a much broader swath of the Syrian rebellion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is obvious to even a casual observer of the current geopolitical scene that these bombings of Syria are engineered to generate regime change in Damascus.

The questions which need to be asked are, will Al-Assad attempt invoke the mutual defense pact Syria has with Iran, to assist him against the US, and if that happens, what will Russia do to prevent any attacks against Iran, and stop the US from bombing Syria?

In the shadow of Iran a new UAE oil port is transforming energy sector

In response to Iran’s strategic grip over oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a new export route for crude from the Persian Gulf is growing on the coast of the Arabian Sea, with the potential to transform global energy markets.

Giant tankers now queue in lines stretching for miles to load oil or refuel at Fujairah – a sleepy sheikhdom in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – after the government invested billions of dollars into building a giant oil pipeline across the rugged Hajar mountains, with the aim of ending the potential stranglehold that Iran could place on the nation’s exports of crude.

The 21-mile-wide Hormuz channel handles a third of the world’s oil-tanker traffic and connects the Persian Gulf’s sheikhdoms to the Arabian Sea. Fears that Tehran could choke off exports shipped through it have been a concern weighing on oil markets for decades.

Israel PM warns Iran greater threat than IS jihadists

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Monday at the United Nations that a nuclear-capable Iran would pose the gravest threat to the world, far outstripping the jihadist terror from Iraq and Syria.

"Make no mistake, ISIS must be defeated," Netanyahu told the UN General Assembly, referring to the Islamic State group.

"But to defeat ISIS and leave Iran as a threshold nuclear state power is to win the battle and lose the war."

Netanyahu spoke a week after US President Barack Obama took to the UN podium to appeal for international support for the US-led coalition firing air strikes to defeat the IS jihadists.

The prime minister took a swipe at Iran's "smooth-talking" President Hassan Rouhani, accusing him of seeking a deal on Tehran's nuclear program without scrapping any bomb-making capacity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And so, Israel's nuclear capabilities are absolutely no threat to the world, Prime Minister Netanyahu!?

And IF the US government had any male attributes whatsoever, it would follow the letter of its own law, because under the Symington Amendment, the US is forbidden to give either any any money or military aid to a country which has either a nuclear weapons program or nuclear energy program, but refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, and refuses to allow its nuclear sites to be inspected.

Israel is such a country.

The US government breaks its own laws with impunity.

So why should civilians believe, for a second, that they need to obey any laws Congress passes?!?

The stench of these double standards stinks to high heaven.

Bahraini fighter jets join Syria strikes

Bahraini fighter jets have joined US-led air strikes in Syria to prevent extremist fighters from expanding throughout the region.

The US operation included the Royal Bahrain Air Force (RBAF) and military forces from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and Jordan, which was part of an international action plan to stamp out the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organisation, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I try to stay as logically focused as humanly possible, when I am posting.

But there is one thing I want to share with our readers, because I am pretty sure that some of you will have a resonance with this.

Monday, when we got the news here on Oahu that President Obama had begun a a series of air strikes against Syria, I felt as though he had knocked on our door; I had graciously let him in; and then he proceeded to knock this 65 year old gal to the floor with a sucker punch to my gut.

That is how completely betrayed I feel by this government right now.

And for God's sake, look at the company the US government is keeping in this Administration's "Coalition of the (allegedly) Willing, 2014"!!!

Saudi Arabia, which carries out beheadings frequently, and Bahrain are two of the worst human rights abusers on this planet, and probably on a couple of others as well. (do we call that Species rights abuse on other planets?!?)

So THESE are our allies, chosen in order to take out Bashar Al Assad, who has done absolutely NOTHING to the United States?!?

President Obama, there is nothing that can take the moral stench out of this decision you have made, nothing whatsoever.

The country I used to believe I lived in exists no more; that is one hell of a hard reality to get my head around, but it is the absolute, stone cold truth.
