Gaza death toll rises over 1,000 as bodies are recovered

The toll in Gaza rose above 1,000 dead on Saturday as more than 1,000 bodies were pulled from the rubble of homes throughout the coastal enclave during a truce, medics said.

The grim milestone came on the 19th day of a conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement, during a 12-hour truce that allowed Gaza residents to pick through the ruins of their homes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The only thing that will get the Israeli government to stop this genocide is for everyone doing business with Israel is to stop, immediately, until a permanent cease-fire is in place.

Otherwise, this slaughter will continue until Israel has killed every Palestinian Gazan they think they can get away with killing.

Palestinians pull 85 bodies from under Gaza rubble

An Israeli air strike in southern Gaza hours before a humanitarian truce was declared killed 20 people, including 11 children, most of them from a single family, medics said.

Separately, the bodies of at least another 85 Palestinians were recovered from rubble across Gaza on Saturday, raising the overall Palestinian death toll in the 19-day Israeli terror campaign to 985, the overwhelming majority of them civilians.

“Ambulance crews have recovered the bodies of 85 martyrs under destroyed houses, including children and women, across the Gaza Strip, bringing the total number of martyrs to 985 as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip,” Emergency services spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army said two more occupation soldiers had been killed, taking its toll to 37.

Israeli sniper killing wounded civilian

UPDATED 22/7/14: The young man who was murdered in Shajiya after being wounded by an Israeli sniper, has been confirmed as Salem Khalil Salem Shammaly, 23-years-old, resident of Shajiya (http://palsolidarity.org/2014/07/woun...).

20/7/14: International and Palestinian volunteers accompanied Civil Defense and other rescue crews, as well as family members, into Shajiya, in an attempt to locate survivors of overnight and ongoing shelling by the Israeli army. A young Palestinian man, in a green t-shirt, who hoped to reach his family's home, was shot by an Israeli soldier while crossing an alley between buildings. Two additional rounds struck him as he lay injured on the ground.

It Turns Out Hamas Didn’t Kidnap and Kill the 3 Israeli Teens After All

After Israel's top leadership exhaustively blamed Hamas for kidnap of 3 teens, they've now admitted killers were acting as "lone cell."

Webmaster's Commentary:

From my post on July 1, 2014:

"First off, HAMAS has in fact denied any connection to the three teens, which makes sense when you think about it. After all, HAMAS and FATAH need world support for their new unity government. A stunt like kidnapping and killing three teenagers destroys the very public support the unity government needs. This is clearly something HAMAS is not going to do, but of course is perfect for Israel to do and then frame HAMAS as part of Netanyahu's promise to wreck the unity government."

So Israel attacked HAMAS without provocation and now even Israel is admitting they attacked HAMAS without provocation, but will continue the bombardment after the current cease-fire ends claiming a right to self-defense because HAMAS dared fight back when attacked without provocation.

And Israel wonders why all those Jewish students paid to post pro-Israel propaganda on social media have failed to build support for Israel's actions!

Look carefully at the wreckage. See any rockets or rocket launchers? Because that's Israel's excuse for targeting civilians, hospitals, and schools; that HAMAS is hiding rockets and rocket launchers in them.

Israel calls Brazil a ‘diplomatic dwarf’ – and then brings up World Cup humiliation

In a statement on Wednesday, Brazil condemned what it said was a "disproportionate use of force" by Israel in its Gaza Strip offensive by pulling out its ambassador from Tel Aviv for "consultation." The country is the second country to recall its ambassador from Israel; Ecuador did so earlier in the week.

At first, the official reaction from Israel appeared sanguine. "Brazil is a friend, but we think its position is not balanced," Israel's general consul in São Paulo, Yoel Barnea, said according to the Wall Street Journal, adding that Israel should have a right to defend itself from the thousands of missiles being fired at it by Hamas and other Palestinian groups.

Anti-war demonstrations during wartime are not unusual in Israel. They rarely bring out more than a few hundred people, as did this one. Led by the Rude Mechanical Orchestra the mile and 1/2 march weaving west through the busy streets of lower Manhattan to the shore of the Hudson began. Israel Sabotages Ceasefire

Golani is the best infantry brigade of the IDF. It was defeated by a Hamas regional battalion in the Battle of Shuja'iyya. I reviewed the battle in Hamas Battalion Held Ground against IDF Golani Brigade.

Golani was removed and replaced by reserve forces (Israel Transforms Tunnels into Gas Chambers).

The commander of the unit was wounded (Wounded Druze Colonel Runs to Gaza), three officers were killed, another ten soldiers were wounded.

Information on details of military operations is slow to reach civilian media. Today it was disclosed that Hamas also hit two battalion commanders, Shai Siman-Tov of Golani Battalion 12 and the commander of Golani Egoz; the name of the latter is classified.+.

In other words, with a much smaller force, Hamas wiped the command of an elite brigade of the IDF, forcing it to leave the battlefield. Israel took offence.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Remember what I said about Gaza being like that narrow gap at Thermopylae? The confines take away the advantage of the Israeli's superior weapons.

Jul 25 07:44

MEGA PUKE LEVEL 9 BEX ALERT - Israel's Deadly Invasion of Gaza Is Morally Justified

For Israel, the first question seems easier to answer. Few would deny that, in principle, Israel’s war with Hamas is both just and necessary. Israel acts on the most clear justification possible: self-defense after days of restraint, warnings, and pleas—as rockets continued to land on its cities and later, as militants sprang from tunnels to kill its citizens. Ceasefires have been offered, but Hamas has rejected them. And whatever criticisms one may have of Israel’s failures to midwife an effective and peaceful alternative to Hamas (and I have many), these do not undermine the fundamental justice of this self-defense.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's review the timetable.

Last month, three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped and killed in an IDF-controlled region of the West Bank, not Gaza. ISIS has taken credit and even the Israeli media admits that the two suspects named by the Israeli government are not part of HAMAS, but of a group known for disobeying HAMAS and trying to cause trouble for them.

But Netanyahu declares HAMAS, the legally elected government of Gaza, responsible and launches bombing raids into Gaza using the very latest high-tech weapons provided by the US Government and paid for by the US taxpayers.

To put Israel's actions into perspective, let us recall that over the July 4th weekend, 8 people were killed in Chicago. Using Netanyahu's logic, the Democratic party should be blamed and all of Illinois bombed and invaded!

The Palestinians, who have been attacked without provocation, fight back with their home-made rockets, which so far have mostly knocked a few roof tiles loose.

But to Israel's supporters, we should all forget that Israel attacked Gaza without a valid reason, and view Palestine's attempts to defend themselves as the crime, so that Israel can go on pounding the Palestinians with their superior weapons.

I want to point something out. The Israelis sit in their tanks, or the drone operations centers, or fly high above Gaza in their US-supplied warplanes, dropping the latest in US-supplied high tech lethal munitions, and imagine themselves the heroes they read about in the Torah. The Israelis, clearly unafraid of HAMAS rockets, line the hills overlooking Gaza and cheer the carnage, much as the Romans at the Colosseum cheered as the Christians were thrown to the lions. The Palestinians huddle in their giant open-air prison, without an army, a navy, or an air force, and fight back with home-made rockets made out of plumbing supplies.

Not since Thermopylae has the world seen such courage in the face of overwhelming odds. The Palestinians have balls the US and Israel can only dream of, and the world will remember their courage against the tyrants, and the lies by the corporate media's presstitutes and whorespondents trying to protect Israel's aggression!

FLASHBACK - An exodus which was merely a myth

Showing the foundations of the fort of the XVIIIth dynasty, the oldest ever found in this line of defense, known as the road of Horus, Mohamad Abdel-Maqsoud, the leader of excavations and the director of the central administration of Egyptian antiquities, said that it is testimony to the fierceness of the fighting. "It is here that was established the first large lock of the empire against the conquerors from the east, as the Hyksos," he says, whereas today the Suez Canal is only 5 km. But the basis for subsequent attacks in the Pharaonic empire in the direction of Palestine, with the establishment of a chain composed of a dozen strongholds until what is now known as the Gaza Strip.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel gains a great deal of political advantage from the story of Exodus. But much of the Torah or Old Testament is simply stolen from other sources. The story of Noah and the Flood, for example, was copied from the Epic of Gilgamesh, as was the story of Job. It is important to recall that in those days there was no prohibition on copying. The physical book or scroll was the thing of value due to the labor intensive process of creating it, and copying/modifying other stories was accepted practice.

But according to modern archaeologists, including Egypt's Dr. Zahi Hawass, the story told of the flight of the Hebrews from Pharaoh actually happened to the Hyksos, who fled Egypt looting as they went which is why Pharaoh chased after them.

It is important to understand that rulers always lie, and the Israelites are no different.

Jeremy Scahill On U.S. Media Coverage Of Israel-Gaza Conflict: 'We've Hit All-Time Lows'

Jeremy Scahill joined HuffPost Live on Wednesday to discuss his expose for the Intercept on the way the U.S. government handles its terrorist watchlist database. During the interview, host Alyona Minkovski asked the journalist about media coverage of the Israel-Gaza conflict, and Scahill had some strong opinions on the matter.

"We could say this every time I come on your show and talk to you: we've hit all-time lows with media coverage in this country," Scahill told Minkovski. "When you look at what's happening right now in Gaza, this is a massive massacre and one epic series of war crime after war crime, child after child being killed."

FLASHBACK 2013 - Zionists design myth of Jewish genome to usurp Palestine

They perpetrated the fraud solely to support the bogus biblical claim to Palestine which was anchored in their being a separate people. This distinguished them from all others because they claimed a land title in their blood. They bet the farm on this DNA proof of purchase, a God given bar coded passport to the Palestine. Dr. Ehaik just erased the bar code. It was just stamped on anyway, because it was never in the blood.

Why, why did they do it? The second half of the answer not revealed in his research was that you had a bunch of atheist, communist Jews shoot their way into taking over the Land with the sole moral cover that 'God gave it us only'.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel has sold the lie that "Jewish" is an ethnic group in addition to being a religion. But the DNA tells another story, of dozens of other ethnic groups converting to Judaism and simply declaring they are a different and superior race to all others, with a mandate from the imaginary playmate in the sky that they are supposed to own all of Palestine (and anything else they can get their hands on).

Baby among nine dead as Israeli shell hits UN school in Gaza

At least nine people were killed, including a baby, when an Israeli shell slammed into a UN-run school in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday, an AFP correspondent said.

Emergency services spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra put the toll as high as 15 dead and dozens injured, with more bodies and wounded expected to arrive at nearby hospitals.

It was the latest in a number of Israeli strikes on schools and hospitals in the embattled Palestinian territory, as the death toll from a 17-day operation to halt rocket fire by Gaza militants topped 770.

A spokesman for the UN’s Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA separately confirmed “multiple dead and injured” at the school in Beit Hanun, which was being used as a shelter by hundreds of Palestinians fleeing a major Israeli operation in the area.

“Precise coordinates of the UNRWA shelter in Beit Hanun had been formally given to the Israeli army,” Chris Gunness said on his Twitter account.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israeli Cabinet Mulls Further Escalation: At Least 718 Gazans Killed

The death toll in Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip continues to rise, with at least 718 Gazans now reported slain, overwhelmingly civilians, and thousands wounded. The death toll on the Israeli side stands at 34, 32 of them soldiers, and one civilian from the Philippines.

Among the soaring number of Palestinian civilians, an estimated 24% are children under the age of 18, reflecting the growing tendency of attacks on civilian neighborhoods killing entire families.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This genocidal carnage needs to be stopped; of course, with the US foreign policy enabling these practices, it is hard to imagine just how this is going to happen, in light of the fact that the Israeli government doesn't seem to give a rat's nether regions as to world opinion, which is hardening against this brutal killing of civilians quickly.

The only thing that might stop this is if all companies currently doing business with Israel pull their money out of Israeli banks, and refuse to to do business with Israeli companies at least until a cease-fire is declared.

Perhaps now is the perfect moment for the BDS movement to have its most practical effect possible, and push the Israelis to the bargaining table.

THE WAR IS MAKING ‘CRIMINALS’ OF ALL OF US

Yesterday, I was part of a delegation of activists from Jewish Voice for Peace and Jews Say No! who took over the Friends of the IDF headquarters in New York. Until we were arrested, we read the names and ages of the dead and sang songs of mourning, often with our voices breaking and tears rolling down our faces. We stood there for an hour, reading the names steadily, and still did not read them all.

As I was taken out in handcuffs to face a sea of about 30 police officers, I asked a staff member of the Friends of the IDF standing nearby, “Did you hear the names we read? Did you see that we read them for an hour and didn’t reach the end? Is this what you support? Are these the Jewish values you grew up with?”

As Jews, so many of us have been brought up on stories of our families’ lives hanging in the balance based on the courage of someone who had the choice to speak up or remain silent.

AIPAC Is the Only Explanation for America's Morally Bankrupt Israel Policy

Israel says Hamas has cynically calculated that the worse the situation gets for Gazans, the better it is for Hamas. If so, why is Israel obliging Hamas?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel's propaganda is biting itself on the rear-end! Netanyahu says his attack on HAMAS is justified by the kidnapping and killing of three teenagers last month. But that took place in an IDF-controlled area of the West Bank, not in Gaza. ISIS has claimed credit for the crime. The Israeli media admits that the two suspects named by the Israeli government are not part of HAMAS, but of a group known for disobeying HAMAS and trying to cause trouble for them.

Strike 1.

Israel is claiming that because of HAMAS rockets, the people of Israel cower in fear in bomb shelters all over the country, yet insists it is perfectly safe for air traffic to go in and out of Tel Aviv airport.

Strike 2.

Meanwhile, thousands of "terrified" Israels throw picnics on the top of the hills overlooking Gaza, watching the fireworks and cheering at the carnage, not unlike Romans at the Colosseum as the Christians get thrown to the lions. Clearly these Israels are not concerned with HAMAS plumbing-fixture bottle-rockets.

Strike 3.

Israeli shell hits UN-run school used to shelter hundreds of Palestinian refugees in Gaza, killing 15 and injuring at least 200

An Israeli shell has hit a UN-run school in Gaza, killing 15 and injuring at least 200 who were seeking shelter from fierce clashes on the streets outside.

Pools of blood soiled the school courtyard which was packed with mainly woman and children and there was a large scorch mark in the courtyard marking the place where one of the tank shells hit.

Although the UN said they had given the Israeli army the co-ordinates of the school to prevent such an incident, the shells landed on the school where families had gathered in the courtyard expecting to be evacuated shortly in a Red Cross convoy.

I've always loved Israel but this brutality breaks my heart

Were the world’s attention not overwhelmingly fixed on the fate of Flight MH17, it would have more to say about that of the Palestinian inhabitants of Gaza. Bombed and battered by Israeli air and firepower, they are dying in scores, victims alike of their own leadership and Israeli ruthlessness.

Some of the dead are Hamas fighters. But many others are women, children, the helpless old. Israel is exacting vengeance at its usual tariff for Hamas rocketing, and the murder of three Israeli students by terrorists. For each Israeli killed, the lives of many times that number of Palestinians are forfeit.

Israel says: they started it; we have a right to retribution. But much of the world says: the Jewish people have been historic standard-bearers for civilisation. Does Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s campaign in Gaza represent that — or instead barbarism?

Gaza death toll reachs 695 (mostly civilians) as deadly Israeli strikes continue

Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling killed 21 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip Wednesday morning as the military offensive entered its sixteenth day.

More than 695 Palestinians — the vast majority of whom have been civilians, including more than 160 children — have been killed in the assault so far, while Israel has suffered 29 deaths, 27 of whom have been soldiers.

The Gaza Strip continued to be bombarded from air, land, and sea on Wednesday morning, a day after the the United Nations’ Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA accused Israeli of shelling a UN school sheltering the displaced for the second time in two days.

Outrage as French politician compares dead Palestinian child to Halal meat

An outspoken pro-Israel politician caused outrage across France today by comparing the mutilated corpse of a Palestinian child to ‘Halal meat’.

Jacques Renaud, the right wing deputy mayor affiliated to the UMP opposition, portrayed the killing of an infant in the Gaza Strip as being similar to animals being slaughtered according to Islamic ritual.

Mr Renaud's comment came as thousands prepared to take to the streets of Paris in a pro-Palestine demonstration which many fear will lead to violence.

Jewish groups have accused anti-Semites of hijacking the rallies, while thousands of Muslims taking part say they are being unfairly labelled as extremists.

Breakfast with Eli Wallach and John Malkovich or Maybe Not.

The entire state of Israel is writhing in paroxysms of orgasm, over the vile and unnecessary deaths of all those Palestinian women and children, sliced and diced by the state of the art war machine for Crime Syndicate Banker Nation. I need to mention a few things about all of that. I have probably said these things before but they bear repeating at this time. A reader recently pointed out that the conflict is in operation because Israel wants to steal the gas that has been discovered in Gaza. Sure, that could be a motivator. Whenever there is the opportunity for the snarling bully of the Middle East to steal anything from anyone, be it property, organs or one's life, they will do it because it is their nature, just like it is the scorpions nature to sting you for no reason, or even itself to death.

What Mainstream Media Isn’t Telling You About The Gaza Invasion

First of all, context matters in the Gaza invasion. Before the three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped and killed on June 12th, five Palestinian children had been killed by IDF forces in 2014 alone. However, unlike the three Israeli teenagers, their deaths did not generate international outrage or a global campaign, although it did add significantly to Gaza residents’ increasing frustration with the Israeli occupation.

The mainstream media also does a really good job of making this conflict seem like a war between two equal sides. Yet in reality it’s a true David vs. Goliath confrontation between Israeli’s mighty and technologically advanced western-backed military, and Palestinian protesters and fighters equipped mostly with rocks and a small amount of highly unreliable homemade rockets.

A Simple Solution to the Israeli/Palestinian Problem

The Israeli/Palestinian problem can be easily solved because the solution is very simple.

Unless Israel wants to become an internationally recognized Apartheid state shunned by the whole world, a just and equitable solution needs to be worked out. A solution that shelves the idea of two countries living side by side because the facts on the ground dictate otherwise. Israelis are living all over the territory that was earmarked for a Palestinian state. And since the Israelis don’t want to give up one inch of that territory, the only solution left is One Country.

But we have a twist.

It would be a federation of 5 states: Israel, West Bank, Gaza, Galilee and Negev with Jerusalem as the country’s Capital and Palestine as its name – a name that’s been around since the time of Christ if not as far back as the time of the Philistines. The Golan Heights would be returned to Syria in exchange for a comprehensive peace with not only Syria but Lebanon.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel will not go along with that. They want one country and for it to be the Jewish state. All others not welcome.

We call for a ceasefire only when negotiated conditions result in the following:

Freedom of movement of Palestinians in and out of the Gaza Strip.
Unlimited import and export of supplies and goods, including by land, sea and air.
Unrestricted use of the Gaza seaport.
Monitoring and enforcement of these agreements by a body appointed by the United Nations, with appropriate security measures.

Each of these expectations is taken for granted by most countries, and it is time for the Palestinians of Gaza to be accorded the human rights they deserve.

IDENTIFYING WITH THE CHILD VICTIMS OF GAZA

There is a brand of Judaism that declares, “It happened to us, so it shouldn’t happen to us again.” This is what I see too much of right now. Yet I’m not giving up on the idea that suffering can create fair-mindedness and justice. My version of Judaism — shared by more and more Jews — goes like this: “it happened to us, so it should never happen to anyone, ever. Especially not at our hands.”

To everyone who is reading this article and saying, “Yes, but… Hamas,” I would ask you to just stop with the “buts.” Take a single moment and allow yourself to feel this tremendous loss. Lay down your arms and grieve for the children of Gaza, who only yearned to run around outside and be free. It will hurt tremendously, but it might free you, too.

Right-wing professor: Raping Arab women is ‘the only thing that deters suicide bombers’

A professor and researcher for a right-wing Israeli think tank suggested in an interview earlier this month that raping Arab women was the only way to deter suicide bombers.

After Palestinians allegedly abducted and killed three Israeli teens in late June, Bar-Ilan University professor Dr. Mordechai Kedar spoke with a Hebrew-language radio show about what could be done to stop Hamas.

“I’m not talking about what we should or shouldn’t do,” Kedar insisted. “I’m talking about the facts. The only thing that deters a suicide bomber is the knowledge that if he pulls the trigger or blows himself up, his sister will be raped.”

“That’s all. That’s the only thing that will bring him back home, in order to preserve his sister’s honor.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

To even make this suggestion indicates that this man is acutely mentally ill.

For an alleged academic to make such a case indicates that he has absolutely zero understanding of the human condition.

When people are marginalized, many times literally to the point of death, they get angry. When people are denied basic human rights, they get angry. When people see their children hauled off to jail, and physically and emotionally abused, in order to obtain "confessions" against family and friendds, they get angry. When they see friends and loved ones denied medical treatment, simply because they are Palestinians, they get angry. When they get evicted from housing where their families have lived for generations, and there is literally no place else to go, they get angry.

And when there is no place for redress, or a rational hearing of grievances, that anger boils over into violence.

As a Christian pacifist who abhors violence, I view Israel, in the 21st century, as a wretchedly xenophobic, self proclaimed theocracy, with nuclear weapons.

The continuing slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza, an overwhelming majority of whom are civilians, is simply an ongoing expression of this mindset, and I am certain that Dr. Kedar rejoices, in his heart of hearts, upon hearing how many women and children the IDF have murdered, to date.

‘Palestinians are Warsaw Ghetto prisoners of today’

In January 1943, the Jews of the Warsaw Ghetto mounted one of the most heroic and courageous acts of resistance human history has ever seen.

In the face of overwhelming odds, against an advanced and brutal military power, they rose up with nothing more than small arms and an unquenchable human spirit burning in their hearts, choosing to die on their feet rather than go quietly to their doom.

They perished and thereby wrote a chapter in human history that has ensured they will forever remain immortal, rightly revered as an example of that which is most noble and good about the human condition.

Conversely, those responsible for leveling the ghetto by aerial bombardment, tanks, and fire wrote their own chapter – that of a brutal oppressor driven by racism and inhumanity to slaughter men, women, and children in the name of a poisonous ideology which justifies cruelty in service to a distorted worldview of racial purity and supremacy as the cornerstone of human progress.

This Palestinian Journalist Was Killed in an Ambulance on Sunday

Khaled Hamad, a 25-year-old Palestinian journalist and videographer, died Sunday inside an ambulance that was struck by an Israeli rocket as he documented the difficult and increasingly life-threatening work of paramedics in the Gaza Strip.

On Twitter, photos of Hamad’s corpse, wrapped in a white, blood-soaked sheet and still bearing a body armor vest with the word PRESS painted across it, are being shared by journalists and activists alike. One image shows Hamad’s father kneeling at his dead son’s feet, weeping.

Hamad’s boss at Continue TV, Alaa Alool, confirmed the journalist’s death Monday afternoon to the Committee to Protect Journalists. VICE reached him on Tuesday.

“Khaled was a wonderful person,” Alool told us. “It is very difficult to find someone with his tenderness, goodness and generosity.”

Hamad left behind a wife, a woman named Hala who is six-months pregnant with the couple’s first child.

Hamas Sieges Israel

On July 22, 2014 the USA and Europe stopped their flights to Israel. Following the Siege of Gaza and the destruction of the Yasser Arafat International Airport in Gaza by Israel, Hamas conceptually inverted the situation, closing the main access point to the Zionist dream.

In December 2001, during the Second Intifada, Israel bombed the radar in the Yasser Arafat International Airport, popularly known as Dahaniya. In the following month, the runway was destroyed by IDF bulldozers.

This was the first stage in the Siege of Gaza, which was enlarged to a sea blockade. The transfer of goods and people through the border crosses with Israel and Egypt is highly restricted.

But a CNN/ORC International survey conducted Friday through Sunday also

BEX ALERT - For second time, rockets found at UN school in Gaza

For the second time in less than a week, rockets have been found in a school in Gaza operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, the body said.

“Today, in the course of the regular inspection of its premises, UNRWA discovered rockets hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip,” the organization said in a statement issued Tuesday. “As soon as the rockets were discovered, UNRWA staff were withdrawn from the premises, and so we are unable to confirm the precise number of rockets. The school is situated between two other UNRWA schools that currently each accommodate 1,500 internally displaced persons.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel came under criticism for bombing a UN school in which Gazans had fled in response to leaflets dropped by Israel warning that their homes were about to be bombed. Israel responded to the criticism by claiming that HAMAS hides rockets in the UN schools, which drew global skepticism. So magically, just when Israel needs it, some rockets are found, not in the schools filled with refugees Israel has been bombing, but an abandoned school nearby!

Keep in mind that the rockets HAMAS uses are hand-made and cannot be traced to a particular source, and there are known agents provocateurs in Gaza who make and fire rockets into empty lots in Israel to allow Israel to carry out more attacks. This "discovery" is just too cute to be believed.

Telegenically Dead: Israel’s Crumbling Media War

Israeli propaganda has hit a new low. While the world was still trying to come to terms with the mass deaths in Shuja’iyeh, Benjamin Netanyahu went on CNN to state that Hamas uses the “telegenically dead” to further “their cause.” He added that for Hamas: “The more the dead, the better.” Even while Netanyahu followed the propaganda script, which is to first show sympathy and express remorse, by reducing dead Palestinians to a photo-op he showed how his own mind works.

There is a standard script for how to deal with Palestinian casualties. After Israel killed four boys on the Gaza beach on July 16th, the US establishment media fell in line behind Israel’s PR framework: acknowledge the tragedy but blame Hamas. This is exactly what Israeli spokesperson Mark Regev said on Channel 4 News when grilled by the anchor Jon Snow. It is also how the US State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki responded using the same word-for-word talking points.

A similar resolution was adopted by the 15-member Security Council in 2009, with 14 votes in favor. The United States, a close ally of Israel, abstained because Washington first wanted to see the outcome of Egyptian mediation efforts at the time.

Israel’s Iron Dome Isn’t Working: A Weapons Expert’s Warning

Hamas warheads aren’t easy to blow up in midair. The explosive used—TNT—is fairly inert and encased in a thick steel tube. The Tamir interceptors are supposed to blow up when they get close to the rockets and shred them with small steel rods. But the rods spray in all directions, so most don’t even touch the rocket. Many of those that hit may deflect off. The rods don’t have much chance if the timing or direction of the interceptor is even slightly off, according to Lloyd’s calculations.

If Iron Dome isn’t effective, then why have so few Israelis died from rocket fire? Both Lloyd and Postol attribute that mainly to the low firepower of the rockets and to Israel’s excellent early-warning system and network of shelters.

Several airlines already had suspended operations or diverted flights.

The ban comes less than a week after a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was shot down over Ukraine. Emergency Action: Artists Against the War - rally at Rabin Square, Tel Aviv, Tue. July 22,2014

War is bad. We didn’t come into this world to kill one another.
We believe that civic and political equality should reign from the Mediterranean to the Jordan river. We believe in the shared and beautiful life of jews and arabs, Israelis and Palestinians, we believe that there is a peaceful solution to the terrible war being waged right now, and we disparagingly kick at the nationalist militaristic propaganda being touted at the Israeli public.
We are against missiles, tanks, cannons, and rockets from Israel and Gaza, and against violence from any direction aimed at any religion, gender, race, or color.
There is an opposition in Israel. The occupation of the Palestinian people must end. Peace talks must start. The State of Israel must change immediately!

We will meet on Tuesday, July 22nd, at 8:00pm at Rabin Square, Tel-Aviv

600 deaths in Israeli Gaza op: Military hits mosques, stadium, homes, hospital

Israel kept up attacks on Gaza on Tuesday, killing three Palestinians and hitting over 70 targets, including five mosques, a sports stadium and the home of the deceased Hamas military chief.

The latest casualties in the fortnight-long violence have brought the Palestinian death toll to 570, according to AP. Almost 100 of them are children and many others are civilians.

A United Nations school which is helping to shelter displaced Palestinians in the center of Gaza also came under attack from Israeli fire as a team was inspecting damage from the day before, a UN official said.

The official mentioned that a team, who had been given permission by Israel to enter, were at the school, which is run by the UN in Al-Maghazi, when Israeli tanks resumed their shelling and hit the building.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So Israel tells the Palestinians to leave their homes so they won;t be killed, then shells the school where they have moved to, then shells the school a second time while the UN inspectors are examining the carnage.

Ron Paul Rewind: Israel Encouraged Growth of Hamas

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ron Paul is, as usual, correct.

Israel loves to play this little game of "who do we talk to" to avoid peace talks. When Yasser Arafat united Palestine under the PLO, Israel's Shin Bet created and funded HAMAS as "controlled opposition, so that Israel could say, "We don't know who to have peace talks with, PLO or HAMAS." Then Yasser Arafat was assassinated and PLO collapsed, and HAMAS found itself the de facto Palestinian government, and following their election win in 2006, the legitimate one. So they started to act like a government, trying to take care of the Palestinians. So Israel set up FATAH as controlled opposition, so they could again play the game of "who do we talk to" and say "We don't know who to have peace talks with, HAMAS or FATAH." That is why when HAMAS and FATAH formed a unity government, Netanyahu went ballistic, because he could not avoid peace talks any longer. And because Netanyahu does not want peace with Palestine, he wants Palestine itself, he launched a war on Gaza.

Israel using US-supplied CW against Gazans: Analyst

A political commentator says Israel is using US-supplied chemical weapons to target Palestinians in Gaza amid the regime’s deadly offensive against the blockaded territory, Press TV reports.

In an interview with Press TV on Sunday, Gordon Duff, a senior editor at Veterans Today, said Washington’s supplying of chemical weapons to the Tel Aviv regime “is one of the shames of the American relationship with Israel.”

The analyst added that the US has given “an infinite number of chemical weapons” to Israel, stressing that the regime has “burnt many Palestinian children” using US-supplied “white phosphorous bombs.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel sees Gaza as their own territory, so what we have here is Netanyahu using banned chemical weapons against his own people , the very crime the United States Government accused Syria's Assad of as justification to remove him from power.

BEX ALERT - Two American soldiers die in Israel-Gaza conflict

Among the 20 Israelis who have died in the conflict, Max Steinberg and Sean Carmeli were two Americans fighting in the Israeli army.

Webmaster's Commentary:

CBS News is wagging two Americans serving in the Israeli army who have died in the invasion of Gaza to try to drag Americans' sympathies back towards Israel's side. But by doing so, CBS has reaffirmed the public perception of pro-Israel bias in that the hundreds of dead Gazans, many of them children, remain nameless and faceless in CBS' coverage.

The Palestinians, who have been attacked without provocation, fight back with their home-made rockets, which so far have not killed anyone or done more damage than knock a few roof tiles loose.

Israel accused of using flechette weapons on Palestinian civilians

The Israeli military has been accused of using flechette shells during its offensive in Gaza, which can cause widespread harm and death to civilians. The weapons, though legal in Israel and internationally, have been slammed as inhumane by rights groups.

The munitions are normally fired by tanks and contain thousands of small darts, which are released when the shell explodes in midair. The flechette shells are only four centimeters in length.

Infiltrated: Mossad in Malaysia

Malaysia's internationally known politician, Anwar Ibrahim (born 1947), country's former Deputy Prime Minister (1993-98) and Finance Minister (1991-98) and currently the Opposition leader - claimed that Israeli intelligence agents (Mossad) have infiltrated into Malaysia's Bukit Aman (Federal Police headquarter in Kuala Lumpur). The espionage link to Israel is the company named Asiasoft Global Pte Ltd. (Singapore), which has worked as a sub-contractor to upgrade the telecommunication systems for the police. Two of the directors of the firm, Izhak David Nakar and Ido Schechter, are reportedly Israeli citizens.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israeli companies were given the keys to telecommunications here in the US, specifically AMDOCs and Comverse Infosys, and all of a sudden the drug enforcement officers could not stage a successful raid on Israeli drug smugglers, who seemed to "know" ahead of time where and when the raids would be taking place! The investigation led to the uncovering of the largest foreign spy ring ever found in US history, working for Israel. Shortly after the investigation stumbled on the Israeli spy ring, 9-11 happened, and three Mossad agents were arrested after being seen cheering and clapping as the World Trade Towers collapsed. there is evidence linking these arrested Mossad agents to 9-11, but that this evidence was classified by the US Government.

MSNBC contributor Rula Jebreal took issue with the network's coverage of the conflict in the Middle East on Monday.

Gaza has become a slaughter zone for the eradication of Palestinians with the most advanced military technology that Israel posses. Depending on one’s view just who is the unlawful belligerent, sympathy and condemnation follows. This eternal struggle will never end peacefully. Debating international law, dissecting historic claims, strategizing military options, analyzing diplomatic intentions, and especially honoring superior doctrine among conflicting religious beliefs is a formula that offers no solutions. Yet, Israel is wedded to an expansionist political objective. Extending settlements prevent any permanent settlement agreement.

The family of Hafez Hamad in Beit Hanoun lost six family members in the same attack, and a similar tragedy happened to the Dar el Samman family in the Jabalya refugee camp. It is a real massacre. They no longer hold the moral high ground, if ever they did. The massacre in Shejaiya is an obscenity.

It might be Hamza or it might be Khalil. Relatives are having trouble identifying him because his head has been shorn off. Their parents will not mourn them—because they are dead too.

All of them were killed in Shejaiya, one of Gaza’s poorest and most crowded neighborhoods, which came under a brutal and sustained assault by the Israeli military today.

By now you must have seen the size of this gader hafradeh ("separation fence"). According to Nigel Parry on The Electronic Intifada: "Israel's Separation Barrier, dubbed the "Apartheid Wall" or "Berlin Wall" by Palestinians, has increasingly attracted international media attention, largely due to the hard-to-ignore scale of the project. The most obvious historical parallel to the barrier is the Berlin Wall, which was 96 miles long (155 kilometers). Israel's barrier, still under construction, is expected to reach at least 403 miles in length (650 kilometers). The average height of the Berlin Wall was 11.8 feet (3.6 metres), compared with the maximum* current height of Israel's Wall -- 25 feet (8 metres)." - See more at: http://batr.org/gulag/080603.html#sthash.lECcWHKE.dpuf

The End of Israel

Five days ago, Israel, at least in the eyes of its supporters, held the upper ground. It saw it citizens subject to an endless barrage of rockets, yet it showed relative restraint, killing Palestinian civilians only from afar, which served to convey an imaginary image of strength. But that has changed rapidly since Israel launched its ground operation. Israel is now, once again, involved in colossal war crimes against a civilian population and worse, at least strategically, its elite infantry commandos are being eradicated in a face-to-face street battle in Gaza. In spite of clear Israeli technological superiority and firepower, the Palestinian militants are winning the battle on the ground and they have even managed to move the battle to Israeli territory. In addition, the barrage of rockets on Tel Aviv doesn’t seem to stop.

BEX ALERT - Iran’s fingerprints all over Hamas-Israel conflict

While media have widely reported on the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, few have picked up on the significant Iranian connection to the conflict. Indeed, one cannot comprehend the events of recent weeks without an adequate understanding of Iran’s role in Gaza.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So let me see if I have this right. ISIS admits kidnapping and killing those three Israeli teenagers in the west bank but Netanyahu uses that crime to launch an all-out invasion against the people of Gaza, and this writer places the blame for the whole mess on Iran? Are they using serious recreational drugs up at The Star?

1000s of protesters in New York City denounce Israel’s war on children

Thousands of people have held a demonstration in New York City to denounce Israel’s war on Palestinian children as Tel Aviv’s offensive against the besieged Gaza Strip continues, Press TV reports.

The protesters, who gathered at the Times Square in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday, said the Israeli strikes are part of a global “war on children,” a Press TV correspondent reported.

Waving Palestinian flags, and chanting slogans, the demonstrators denounced the Zionist regime and its crimes against the Palestinians.

“The Israeli Dream”: The Criminal Roadmap Towards “Greater Israel”?

The concept of a “Greater Israel” according to the founding father of Zionism Theodore Herzl, is a Jewish State stretching “’From the Brook of Egypt to the Euphrates.’

Rabbi Fischmann, of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, stated to the UN Special Committee on 9th July 1947 that:

The Promised Land extends from the River of Egypt up to the Euphrates, it includes parts of Syria and Lebanon’”, wrote Michel Chossudovsky. (1)

Thus “from the Nile to the Euphrates.” Herzl’s detailed thesis was written in 1904.

Members of UAE 'aid convoy' revealed as intelligence agents

Forty members of the UAE "aid convoy" which entered the Gaza Strip last week have been revealed as intelligence agents. They were, it is believed, trying to collect information about Hamas and its infrastructure in the besieged territory.

According to one informed source, a local Palestinian recognised one of the agents as a soldier in the UAE armed forces. He contacted the security forces in Gaza who took the agent in for questioning.

Other members of the "aid convoy" then made contact with officials in the United Arab Emirates. In turn, they asked disgraced Fatah official Mohamed Dahlan, who now lives in and is sponsored by the UAE government, to try to secure a safe and swift exit for the agents.

Footage shows dozens of bodies in Gaza's Shujaya

A video displayed Sunday by Hamas-run Al-Aqsa satellite channel showed dozens of bodies scattered on the streets of al-Shujaya district in eastern Gaza City in the aftermath of heavy Israeli shelling in the area.

The video showed Palestinian families fleeing their homes amid cries and screams, just moments after the area was pounded by Israeli artillery fire.

Was MH17 Sabotaged By An IsraeliSecurity Team At AmsterdamSchiphol Airport?

As the only non-European journalist to cover The Hague inquiry into the Amsterdam crash of El Al flight 1862 (October 1992), which destroyed a Biljmeer district apartment complex, I discovered many aspects of the Israeli security set-up at Schipol International Airport and the role of the Mossad intelligence agency in secret operations there, one of Europe’s business transport hubs. This same airport spy network is very likely involved in the recent crash of Malaysian Airlines flight 17 over the Ukraine.

Dozens killed in Palestinian town; Netanyahu calls for demilitarizing Gaza

Hundreds of Palestinians fled in panic into Gaza City on Sunday as Israeli troops focused their firepower on the nearby town of Shaja'ia. The shelling and bombing killed at least 60 people and wounded 300, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

In previous days, Israel warned residents to flee, through calls, text messages and dropping fliers that said "it is the intention of the IDF to carry out aerial strikes against terror sites and operatives" in the area. The fliers told people to head to Gaza City by Wednesday morning and not to return until further notice. The IDF posted an English translation of the fliers Sunday on Twitter.

Some residents said they had received the warnings but felt that even if they fled, they could face the same dangers in other parts of Gaza.

Israel using flechette shells in Gaza

B'Tselem, an Israeli human rights organisation, describes a flechette shell as "an anti-personnel weapon that is generally fired from a tank. The shell explodes in the air and releases thousands of metal darts 37.5mm in length, which disperse in a conical arch 300 metres long and about 90 metres wide".

The munitions are not prohibited under international humanitarian law, but according to B'Tselem, "other rules of humanitarian law render their use in the Gaza Strip illegal. One of the most fundamental principles is the obligation to distinguish between those who are involved and those who are not involved in the fighting, and to avoid to the extent possible injury to those who are not involved. Deriving from this principle is the prohibition of the use of an imprecise weapon which is likely to result in civilian injuries."

Khalilah Sabra: Israel Is Using Banned Weapons against the People of Gaza

As the Tel Aviv regime continues its deadly campaign of airstrikes against the densely populated Gaza Strip, where some 1.6 million people are living in an area of 360 km2 under critical conditions exacerbated by continuous water shortage, power blackout and lack of access to foodstuff and medicine, conscious activists across the world are raising their voice in protest against the inhumane measures adopted by Israel in Gaza, which has been under siege for more than 7 years now.

On the defensive, Barney Frank accuses Clemons and Kornacki of ganging up on him, and Israel

From Steve Kornacki’s MSNBC show, Up with Steve Kornacki. Guest Steve Clemons of the New America Foundation was critical of the Gaza onslaught for the killings of civilians, and former Congressman Barney Frank bridled, defending Israel. He then said the two others were ganging up on him. I’ve never seen Frank so on the defensive in his support for Israel. He accuses Clemons of being “anti-Israel” and is angry that Kornacki is taking “the other side.”

We'll send in more troops, warns Israel: Netanyahu vows to 'significantly widen' ground offensive in Gaza

Israel is prepared to ‘significantly widen’ its ground offensive against Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned yesterday.

He said the military was intent on destroying rocket sites and tunnels used by Hamas to launch strikes against Israel.

Mr Netanyahu spoke as thousands of troops, backed by tanks, artillery fire and fighter jets, poured into Gaza in a bid to seek and destroy the hardline Islamist group that controls the strip.

But Netanyahu declares HAMAS responsible and launches bombing raids into Gaza using the very latest high-tech weapons provided by the US Government and paid for by the US taxpayers.

To put Israel's actions into perspective, let us recall that over the July 4th weekend, 8 people were killed in Chicago. Using Netanyahu's logic, the Democratic party should be blamed and all of Illinois bombed and invaded!

The Palestinians, who have been attacked without provocation, fight back with their home-made rockets, which so far have not killed anyone or done more damage than knock a few roof tiles loose.

Palestinian, Israeli Supporters clash during protest in Calgary

Palestinian and Israeli supporters clashed during a planned Palestinian protest against the conflict in Gaza outside Calgary's City Hall on Friday night.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As usual, Israel's supporters show up to a protest they are not invited to and start a ruckus. This kind of behavior (along with the DOS attack still going on on my server) is an admission that Israel knows they are legally and morally in the wrong in their actions in Gaza and have to resort to thuggery to get what they want.

NEW YORKERS HONOUR THE MARTYRS OF GAZA ~~ IN PHOTOS

We met in Bryant Park behind the 42nd St. library, read the names of the dead, and then began a silent walk, only the sound of a drum, across 42nd St to the Israeli Consulate on 2nd Ave. We carried signs, Palestinian flags, figures of people wrapped in white, and some wore blood stained shrouds. People on the crowded streets stood aside and watched our long line pass. Some took photos. When we got to the consulate we chanted and after about an hour we went to the Egyptian Consulate and did the same there.

Israeli tanks withdrew from Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip after intense clashes with Hamas, only a day after they penetrated hundreds of meters into the area at the beginning of the ground invasion Thursday night.

Eyewitnesses told Ma'an that violent clashes took place in the "Ashkelon" area of Beit Lahiya on Friday afternoon, and that the tanks withdrew in response to positions behind the Israeli border.

FLASHBACK - Russia preparing to develop Gaza gas field

In a significant political and economic development, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met Jan. 23 with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting came as a prerequisite to officially sign an investment agreement aiming to develop the Gaza offshore gas field in the Mediterranean Sea. It is only logical to assume that this step will raise the ire of Israel. The latter does not appreciate the role Russia plays in the region, especially since Israel has never come to an agreement with Russia.
