During a hearing that lasted almost six hours, the Commission on Wartime Contracting sharply criticized representatives from ArmorGroup and the State Department for being unaware of what was happening and for not acting more aggressively to correct the situation.
Please note that there is no mention of this contract being pulled immediately, which is what should have happened.
As reported here, 1 Sept 2009:
"The contractor was the subject of a congressional probe earlier this summer that found serious lapses in the company's handling of the embassy security contract, which internal State Department documents said left the embassy compound "in jeopardy." Nevertheless, the government opted to extend the company's 5-year, $189 million contract for another year. "
One has to wonder which congress members have become "acquisitions" of this company, through overt and covert campaign support.
