The magnitude of displacement in Yemen is beyond the local resources of host communities as most of the displaced remain with their relatives, friends or neighbours, straining their meagre reserves and poor infrastructure. Urgent support from the international community is needed to alleviate the desperate situation.
This is a proxy war, in which the US is extremely complicit though years of supporting the massively corrupt Yemeni government.
Somehow, the US Pentagon and State Department don't get it, (as evidenced by their continuing to prop up tin-pot dictators with no regard for their own citizens) but when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable.
We are possibly close to seeing this happen in Yemen.
