Damascus views deployment of 150 US troops to Rmeilan air field as aggression

The Syrian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned on Thursday the deployment of 150 US troops to the city of Rmeilan in the northeast of the country.
"This intervention is rejected and illegitimate, it happened without the Syrian government’s approval," the SANA news agency quotes the ministry’s statement as saying.

Webmaster's Commentary:

GEE, YA THINK?!?!?

The serious question which must be asked, is, why is the US government pushing so hard for war against Russia in Syria in an election year?!?

The answer is two-fold. First, the American economy is about to crash into a wall, and the Obama administration wants a war upon which to blame the crash.

The second is, if in fact, Trump does get elected as President, the Democrats want to hand him the ugliest and most unpalatable plate of economic and geopolitical misery they can conjure.

US senator meets Syria's Assad, urges support for Damascus

A US state senator has held a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus, calling for more support for the Syrian government.

Speaking to reporters in the Syrian capital on Thursday, Dick Black, part-time state senator of Virginia, said it would be "beneficial" for Washington to speak directly to President Assad.

The remarks by Black, an outspoken Republican, contradict those made by US officials who claim that the Syrian president has lost legitimacy.

During his meeting with President Assad, the US senator emphasized that what is happening in Syria is far from disinformation practiced by some parties at the US administration.

What’s the difference between “boots on the ground” and military personnel
wearing boots who are engaged in combat – and perhaps dying – on the ground?
If you can answer that question convincingly, perhaps you’d like to apply for

State Department spokesman who, in answer to a question from a reporter about
the 250 US troops being sent to Syria, denied President Obama ever said there’d be “no boots on the ground” in Syria.

Syria - Russia Rejects Kerry's New Attempts To Shield The Terrorists

The U.S. admits that the upcoming Aleppo offensive by the Syrian government and its allies is designed to hit al-Qaeda and associated terrorist forces and not primarily the "moderate" unicorns the U.S. propaganda blushes about. But the openly U.S. supported forces will also be hit as they are very much integrated with al-Qaeda. The U.S. has for long considered al-Qaeda a secret ally in its attempt to destroy the Syrian state. The French magazine L'Orient Le Jour sees the U.S. relation with al-Qaeda in Syria as part of the attrition strategy the U.S. is waging against Syria (and Russia).

Obama Ramps Up Special Forces Mission In Syria Against ISIS

- President Barack Obama announced on Monday the biggest expansion of U.S. ground troops in Syria since the civil war there began, saying he would dispatch 250 special forces soldiers to help local militia to build on successes against Islamic State.

The new deployment increases U.S. forces in Syria six-fold to about 300. While the total U.S. ground force is still small by comparison to other American deployments, defense experts said it could help shift the momentum in Syria by giving more Syrian fighters on the ground access to U.S. close air support.

Obama said the move followed victories that clawed back territory from Islamic State.

“Given the success, I’ve approved the deployment of up to 250 additional U.S. personnel in Syria, including special forces, to keep up this momentum,” Obama said in a speech in the German city of Hanover, the last stop on a foreign tour that has taken him to Saudi Arabia and Britain.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to President Obama: sir, that "clawing back" of territories has been largely the success of the Syrian military, coupled with the help of the Russian military.

I would like to politely remind you that doing the same thing precisely the same way, yet expecting a different outcome, is one of the classic definitions of insanity.

The alleged "moderate rebels" of whom you, members of the military, and Congress like to speak of so fondly, simply do not exist, period, end of discussion.

Putin has stated very emphatically that regime change in this country, through any attempt at a decap strike against Al-Assad, will absolutely not be tolerated, under his watch.

IT appears that this deployment of American troops in Syria, which come completely uninvited by the Syrian government, is just another provocation against Russia in Syria.

It will only be a matter of time before this conflict devolves into a "hot war" between the US and Russia over Syria; but of course, that's just the outcome you want to bring about, and rapidly, right?!?

And the reason for this is that the American economy is about to implode, and you desperately need a war to attempt to distract the American people from their economic misery, particularly in an election year.

I would like to strongly suggest that the ruse won't work, sir.

Less than 6% of the American people trust anything your corporate presstitutes and whorespondents have to say, and for damned good reason.

Your "unemployment numbers" are so far away from the reality of unemployment in this country, a sane person doesn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Putting the US into a war against Russia (and/or China) at the end of your presidency is an horrifically dangerous thing for you to do.

And I say this because our military doesn't have the weaponry, the money, the manufacturing, or the troop strength, to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with either country.

Syrian Elections Confirm West’s Worst Fears

By Tony Cartalucci

Despite Syria’s ongoing conflict, life in many parts of the nation goes on. Syria’s election schedule is no exception. The last parliamentary elections before the latest held this month were in 2012. Since these elections are held every 4 years, the recent elections were far from a “political stunt” to bolster the legitimacy of the current government, but instead represented the continuity of Syria’s ongoing, sovereign political process.

Attempts to undermine the credibility of the elections have become the primary objective of US and European news agencies, however, even the US government’s own election monitoring nongovernmental (NGO) agencies have conceded the last presidential election in 2014 saw soaring voter turnout, and despite attempts to leave voter turnout this year omitted from US-European press reports, it appears to also have been high...

Diplomats Warn Syrian Peace Talks Could Be Done for ‘At Least a Year’

With the rebels withdrawing from the Geneva peace talks and gearing up for the resumption of the Syrian Civil War, diplomats are desperately scrambling to try to keep the process going, and warning that if this round collapses, there won’t be another chance at serious talks for “at least a year.”

The rebel High Negotiation Committee (HNC), which represents only some rebels, pulled out citing anger over the Syrian offensive against al-Qaeda-held territory in Aleppo Province. Before that, there wasn’t much progress in the talks.

US Officials Say Russia Preparing For Aleppo Offensive As Syria ‘Ceasefire’ Collapses

A report today in the Wall Street Journal cites a "senior US defense official" as saying that Russia has deployed artillery units near Aleppo, as regime-allied forces prepare for a new assault.

After the partial cease-fire took effect in late February, U.S. intelligence agencies tracked the movement of Russian artillery units south to areas where the Assad regime at the time was fighting Islamic State militants, particularly in the Tadmur and Palmyra areas. Russian troops directly man the artillery pieces, which have been used with devastating effect on the battlefield since last year, according to U.S. officials. Russia has also deployed advisers to support the Assad regime in its military campaign, officials said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"...raising US alarm about Moscow's intentions..." MY ASTROLABE!!

First, let us get this straight: the Russians are in Syria at the behest of the Syrian government.

Russia has been zapping any and ALL jihadists (including those funded and supplied by the US government).

Aleppo has been the de-facto capital of ISIS, ever since they took over there. Once the jihadists are uprooted in Aleppo, it is all but over for the alleged "Syrian moderate opposition" (of which there are none!!), and then Al Assad is in a position of real strength with any negotiating he might be doing with his opposition.

You don't have to be Fellini to figure this one out; there will be an assault on Aleppo; most likely it will be liberated by the Syrians, working with the Russians; and the US government will, once again, NOT have its regime change in Syria.

THAT is why US officials are being so petulant about this; they know what is coming, and have absolutely no way to stop it, save possibly a desperate decap strike against Al-Assad in Damascus itself, which could well mean war with Russia.

SAUDI FOREIGN MINISTER ADMITS SAUDIS CREATED ISIS

The Saudis could never reconcile themselves to the US-led invasion of Iraq, not because it toppled Saddam Hussein but because it led to Shia majority rule in an Arab country. When Hosni Mubarak was toppled by Egypt’s popular revolt in 2011, Riyadh accused Mr Obama of betraying a US ally.

After the Iraqi city of Mosul fell to a lightning Isis offensive in 2014, even the late Prince Saud al-Faisal, the respected Saudi foreign minister, remonstrated with John Kerry, US secretary of state, that “Daesh [Isis] is our [Sunni] response to your support for the Da’wa” — the Tehran-aligned Shia Islamist ruling party of Iraq.

Pentagon’s New Rules Allow Them to Kill More Civilians in ISIS Strikes

Though the Pentagon has mostly issued blanket denials whenever they’re caught killing civilians in airstrikes against ISIS targets anyhow, officials say their eagerness to escalate the air war against ISIS targets has seen the implementation of new rules allow the US to kill larger numbers of civilians per attack.

The details are still scant, with the official rules likely to remain a secret, but officials say they have implemented a “sliding scale,” based on the region being targeted and the “opportunity.” In some cases, US airstrikes will be allowed to kill 10 civilians per strike.

This was seen previously in incidents where US forces attacked sites believed to contain physical cash. In both cases, the attacks took place in residential neighborhoods, and the Pentagon insisted they were “comfortable” with the number of civilians killed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that these "new rules" have been generated to create more furious hostility against the US and its allies, in order to perpetuate the wars in Syria and Iraq.

‘Groups sabotaging Syrian truce should be put on UN terrorist list’ – Lavrov

Moscow wants groups sabotaging the Syrian cease-fire to be put on the UN terror list along with Islamic State, Russia’s Foreign Minister said, while the French FM agreed the truce was “fragile” and stressed Russia’s role in restoring Syrian “statehood.”

“There is much evidence that Jabhat al-Nusra is mimicking and trying to disguise itself under new names, uniting with small groups not included in terrorist lists, hence, trying to escape retribution,” Sergey Lavrov told reporters after meeting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault in Moscow.

Lavrov specifically referred to two militants groups, Ahrar Al-Sham and Jaysh al-Islam, which are fighting government forces in Syria, saying that Moscow had wanted them to be put on the terrorist list from the start, but had agreed to hold off on its demand as a compromise measure.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Lavrov is absolutely correct in his assessment.

As reported at www.nytimes.com yesterday:

For 38 straight days, the streets of the northwestern Syrian town of Maarat al-Noaman had been the scene of protests against the government and the Islamic extremists of the Nusra Front. On Tuesday, they became a scene of carnage, as government warplanes attacked the town’s marketplace, killing dozens of people, according to residents and rescue workers. The attack confirmed the apparent unraveling of a fragile cease-fire agreement between Syrian government forces and some armed opposition groups. The attack in Maarat al-Noaman, and a similar one in the nearby town of Kafr Nabl, came several days after the start of a new insurgent offensive in a neighboring province, and a day after the main Syrian opposition group said it would no longer participate in diplomatic discussions in Geneva.

Who wants the cease-fire to fail?!?

Well, the US government, and its hired, trained, and funded mercs in Syria and beyond, the Turkish Government, and Israel.

I am hoping - and praying - that Putin will find a way to keep things calmed down, and that Syria is allowed to maintain its national integrity and identity without having to deal with the pain of a US decap strike with which to engineer regime change in Syria.

As happened in Libya, the results of such a move could be crippling and catastrophic for the Syrian people.

Apr 20 10:15

Washington’s Fake War on ISIS “Moves” to Libya

Libya is one place the “Islamic State’s” sponsors believe Russia can’t get them… In 2011, a NATO coalition led by the United States used its own engineered regional campaign of political destabilization, the “Arab Spring,” as a pretext to militarily intervene in first Libya directly, and in a more indirect way, Syria. US and European forces also “quietly” intervened in several other nations, including Mali and the Ivory Coast amid this regional conflagration.

Even in 2011, it was clear to geopolitical analysts that military intervention in Libya was an attempt to divide and destroy the country, giving the US and its collaborators a base of operations to further disrupt and reorder the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA). U.S.: Golan Heights Not Part of Israel, Despite Netanyahu’s Claims

The United States and Germany both criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s declaration that the Golan Heights “will forever remain part of Israeli sovereignty.”

“The U.S. position on the issue is unchanged,” Kirby said at a daily media briefing at the State Department in Washington. “This position was maintained by both Democratic and Republican administrations. Those territories are not part of Israel and the status of those territories should be determined through negotiations.”

Poland: A New Route for ISIS Weapons Smuggling Operations?

After bringing Ukraine to the stage of complete disintegration, the country has fallen into mired corruption, ruled by oligarchs and extremist groups. This all brings Ukraine towards the final steps of ‘democracy’ and closer EU and NATO structures. Namely, it changes Ukraine into an open mafia territory where one of the primary forms of trade is selling weapons (about 2 million weapons have recently been acquired by the Ukrainian Maidan extremists) to ISIS cells in Western Europe. Poland at this stage will be the territory of smuggling routes and logistics. Paradoxically, precisely because of being a smuggling route, Poland will be able to enjoy, for as long as possible, relative calm since groups of terrorists smuggling weapons from Ukraine will not want to be noticed by local intelligence services in Poland.

Obama Sends More Troops To Iraq; Authorizes Use Of Apache Helicopters; Gives $415 Million To Local Army

Back in 2014 Obama promised that as part of the US war against ISIS, there would be "no ground troops in Iraq." Moments ago U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter gave the latest confirmation that Obama was not being exactly "honest", when during a visit to Baghdad in which he met U.S. commanders, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, and Iraqi Defence Minister Khaled al-Obeidi, he announced that the US would send another 200 additional troops, raising the number of U.S. troops in Iraq to about 4,100.

This follows a report two weeks ago according to which the US would "greatly increase" the number of special forces deployed to Syria under the same pretext: to fight the same Islamic State, which only exists due to a CIA operation to destabilize and overthrow Assad's regime in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The questions no one appears to be asking in Foggy Bottom are:

1. What happens in Iraq when the Shiite Cleric Muqtada Al Sadr decides he will not brook anymore foreign (read: US) military intervention, organises a popular revolt, and sweeps the existing government out of office?!?

2. What happens in Syria when Putin, who has assured Al-Assad that he will not lose this civil war, decides to permanently install Russian troops on the ground, to prevent any US military decap strike against Al-Assad?!?

It is feeling to me that the US is pushing the rest of the world toward World War III.

Ever had one of those dreams where you can see two trains about to collide, and there is nothing you can do to stop it?!?

That is precisely what the geopolitical landscape appears to be right now.

Syria says Israel collaborating with militants in Golan Heights

Syria's envoy to the United Nations says Israeli regime has been collaborating with the Takfiri Daesh terrorists and al-Qaeda linked militants in the occupied Golan Heights.

Bashar Ja'afari made the remarks during a press briefing after meeting the UN's special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, at peace talks in the Swiss city of Geneva on Monday.

The Syrian official also denounced as "provocative" an Israeli cabinet meeting recently held in the occupied region.

"It is an irresponsible provocation committed by Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Israeli occupation force," Ja'afari said, noting, "This Israeli provocation ... confirms without any doubt the cooperation between Israel and terrorists of Daesh and Nusra Front on the demarcation line between where the Golan is and UN troops are positioned."

Free Syrian Army Warn Ceasefire on Brink of Collapse

A legal adviser of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) told Sputnik on Sunday that the ceasefire in Syria was on the verge of collapse and the FSA may withdraw from the negotiation process.
"Intensity of ceasefire violations by the regime is increasing, particularly in Aleppo, from the southern suburbs, where Iranian and Afghan fighters get together… This decision [to exit the negotiation process] requires consideration, perhaps the Free Syrian Army leadership will summit to decide whether or not to continue to participate in the negotiations," Osama Abu Zeid said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How convenient for the US, which is looking for any excuse, any justification for engineering a massive invasion, and decap strike against Al-Assad in Damascus.

There is just one little, itsy-bitsy problem here; and that is, What will Russia do when that happens?!?

Please remember, as reported yesterday in the independent.co.uk:

Vladimir Putin has personally assured Bashar Al-Assad that Russia will not let the Syrian government lose the civil war, according to a senior MP who recently met the Syrian dictator. During a visit to Damascus as part of a fact-finding mission, the Conservative MP David Davis held face-to-face talks with President Assad. He told the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show that the Syrian leader discussed the motives behind President Putin’s partial withdrawal of military forces from the country, after Russian troops proved instrumental in turning the tide of the war in favour of the regime.

War with Russia?!? Over Syria?!?

Forgive me, but a short memo to the reality challenged in Foggy Bottom, AKA those in the bowels of power in Washington DC: this is a really, spectacularly lousy idea.

And why?!?

Because at this point in its history, the American military does not have the troop strength, the weaponry, the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia.

It didn't take Syria long to respond to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's Cabinet meeting on the Golan Heights Sunday, in which he declared Israel will never surrender the region that was liberated in the 1967 Six Day War.

Shortly after the meeting on Sunday, Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Mekdad told Lebanon's al-Mayadeen that his regime will "retake the Golan Heights by any means necessary, including using military force."

"The Arab Syrian Golan is an occupied territory," claimed Al-Mekdad, referencing UN Security Council resolutions calling the area Syrian.

According to the Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister, Netanyahu's Cabinet meeting was a case of "Israel...trying to be provocative, but (we) do not give in to it."

Just two days after declaring the official start of delayed intra-Syrian talks in Geneva to end five years of bloody warfare, the United Nations mediator suspended them for three weeks today following differences between Government and opposition delegations on the priority of humanitarian issues.

“I have been asking even before issuing the invitations that there is an immediate implementation of a humanitarian initiative, even before the talks start,” UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura told journalists, citing such issues as lifting sieges and providing access for humanitarian aid to all the places which are at the moment unreachable.

Turkey Backed Anti-ISIS Offensive in North Syria a ‘Fiasco’

Pressing the US to abandon its support for the Kurdish YPG, the Turkish government has thrown considerable effort behind a group of rebel factions in the northern Aleppo Province to launch an offensive against ISIS, seeing that as a way to convince the US that non-Kurdish rebels can be successful too.

It didn’t take long for it to become a disaster. The rebels captured the town of al-Rai, and saw it as a major gain. Four days later, they lost the town back outright, and the ISIS counteroffensive pushed back even further, hitting the territory of the Turkmen-dominated rebels.

Not only did they not keep al-Rai, but the fighting has displaced some 30,000 civilians, who are all flocking to the Turkish border, and are by and large being prevented from crossing by Turkish forces, who don’t want any more refugees.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Turkish government, and military, get an F in tactics here; but moreover, the human cost in terms of the misery of refugees who cannot go home, and are not accepted into Turkey, after the mess Turkey created, is blatantly immoral, hypocritical, and unjust.

I think Erdogan has just demonstrated two things:

1. He had his conscience surgically removed before running for office.
2. He is pathologically incapable of thinking anything through to its logical conclusion.

And to NATO, a small memo: you had darned well better take a good, hard look at that second issue before you decide on defending Turkey militarily for whatever alleged reason.

US PLANS TO GIVE MORE WEAPONS TO AL QAEDA-LINKED REBELS IN SYRIA

Remember, the US is not intervening in Syria. According to The Wall Street Journal, the CIA has drawn up plans to provide more-powerful weapons to the so-called moderate Syrian rebels if the current truce in Syria collapses. While the CIA has been arming rebels for years, this new plan would included sending advanced weapons that could be used against Syrian and Russian aircraft and artillery.

This latest plan, labeled “Plan B” in the WSJ piece, comes after the US supported flooding Syria with weapons from Saudi Arabia and other regional powers. The weapons were given initially to groups like ISIS before being sent primarily to “moderate” rebel groups such as Al Nusra: the Al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria.

The US also has its own arms program, which has been sent into networks that include Al Nusra, leading some to wonder if the US has decided to partner with Al Qaeda, much as it did in the 1980s to fight the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to politely remind the US government that doing the same, thing, in the same way, and yet expecting a different outcome, is a classical definition of insanity.

And trust me, the US government is doing everything in its power to insure that the cease-fire doesn't hold.

Russia, of course, has other ideas.

And war with Russia right now would be a lousy idea, because at this point in its history, the US military doesn't have the weaponry, the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia (and/or China).

US, Saudi, Turkey, Discuss Delivering Anti Aircraft Weapons To “Rebels” For Use Against Assad, Russia

The CIA is reportedly discussing a plan to augment the fighting capability of the terrorist forces they have been supporting in Syria since the beginning of the crisis in 2011 if the “ceasefire agreement” currently underway in Geneva falls apart. The discussion is centered around the possibility of sending a variety of anti-aircraft technologies ranging from MANPADs (man-portable air defense systems) to less portable systems, including Soviet-era BM-21 Grad missiles...

The United States Navy is leading the largest maritime exercise in the Middle East with 30 countries participating in the event.

Rising Tensions? Obama Rejects Proposal to Meet Erdogan During Turkish Leader's Visit to US
The news came amid deepening tensions between Washington and Ankara over US support for Kurdish forces fighting in Syria.
In late-March, US President Obama rejected Recep Tayyip Erdogan's request to participate in a joint event during a nuclear summit in Washington.
The move to close the Icirlik base would have a number of consequences for the Turkish government, an article in the Turkish newspaper Yeni Cag read.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Edrogan thought for one millisecond that he could get away with it, he would create absolute genocide against the Kurdish population in Turkey, and beyond; but he knows that, in the court of world opinion, this cannot stand, so he is taking what he believes is the only step possible to "punish" the US government for its support of Kurds fighting Daesh in Syria.

This act, if it is taken, may well get Turkey thrown out of NATO; I frankly think this has not been thought through by the Turkish political hierarchy, because political insiders would have had to see what a clumsy threat it was, and what the ramifications would be.

What is desperately needed by the Kurdish people is inclusion into the Turkish political system, rather than expulsion and death.

Terrorists use chemical weapons in Syria's Aleppo

Militants of Jaish al-Islam terrorist group used chlorine in a chemical attack in Aleppo, Syria, a Red Crescent doctor said. According to Sputnik news agency, the victims that suffered in the attack in Sheikh Maqsud have all indications of chlorine poisoning. "They suffer from suffocation and convulsions caused with gases that are banned all over the world, such as chlorine," said the doctor. On April 7, it was reported that chemical weapons were used in the shelling of Sheikh Maqsud area in Syria. As a result, four people with signs of poisoning were hospitalized. Terrorist group Jaish al-Islam claimed responsibility for the use of banned weapons during clashes with Kurdish militia. One of the doctors of the hospital, where the victims were taken, said that patients had all the signs of chlorine poisoning.

Syria’s Grand Mufti Claims “Rebels” And Their Sponsor Countries Working With Israel

By Brandon Turbeville

In an interview conducted with Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen TV, Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Hassoun publicly accused the “Syrian rebels” of working with Israel. Hassoun, a major religious leader in Syria, claimed the “rebels” had repeatedly offered peace deals on the condition that Assad make concessions to Israel.

Ever since the Western-backed destabilization campaign began in 2011, Hassoun said, the Syrian government had repeatedly received unofficial offers from “rebel” groups suggesting that they would end their operations against Syria if the government would agree to various deals with Israel...

Ron Paul On Fixing The Intelligence Around The Policy… In Syria

The scandal around the fixing of intelligence around the Pentagon training program for Syrian rebels has been on slow burn for some time. The mainstream media has largely avoided it, but when Pentagon superiors quash reports of intelligence analysts because they don’t match the desired outcome of the policy there is a big problem. Having spent $500 million to train rebels last year and only produced five fighters, there should be more scrutiny of this program, not less.

U.S. Scrambles to Repair Damaged Saudi Ties

U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter will soon head to Saudi Arabia to discuss ways to increase cooperation in the war against the Islamic State. But there’s little indication he will be able to restore a vital relationship that's become riven with distrust in the last year, which would require him to reassure the Saudis on the very nature of the U.S. commitment to the kingdom and the region.

Carter is slated to meet on April 20 in Riyadh with Mohammed Bin Salman al Saud, the 30-year-old deputy crown prince and defense minister who is widely believed to be in contention to succeed his father, King Salman. Carter’s visit will come one day ahead of President Barack Obama’s stop there for a leaders’ summit between the U.S. and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, a follow-on to their meeting at Camp David last May.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to SecDef Carter; neither Syria nor Iraq have invited the US military to do ANYTHING in their countries, thank you very much.

And Russia can reconstitute its troops in Syria in less than 24 hours, if need be.

And there is something about the US Government-enabled Saudi proxy war in Yemen that people in the West need to realize. As reported today in sputniknews.com:

Why does Saudi Arabia continue to bomb Yemen back into the Stone Age? The crux of the matter is that Yemen has oil reserves, while Riyadh is steadily running out of the commodity, American political analyst Phil Butler explains.

According to American political analyst and researcher Phil Butler, the US-backed Saudi Arabian war against Yemen is neither about the longstanding sectarian strife between Sunnis and Shiites, nor about the much-discussed military campaign aimed against al-Qaeda in the region. While Western media outlets usually refer to Yemen as a "small" energy producer, the truth of the matter is the country is sitting on substantial oil and gas reserves, which Saudi Arabia and its allies want to control, Butler notes.

In addition, Yemen lies at the Bab el-Mandab, a key checkpoint for maritime transit of oil, with 3.4 million barrels of oil passing through it each day. In one of his previous analytical reports for New Eastern Outlook, Phil Butler called attention to the fact that Saudi Arabia's oil wealth is doomed to falter: "Given the nature of the country's [Saudi Arabia's] oil reserves, and almost unlimited production for decades, it's possible the Saudis could simply be running out of gas," the American analyst stressed.

In this context, it is hardly surprising that Riyadh has recently adopted an assertive and even aggressive foreign policy approach towards its neighbors. "Running out of the last of the nation's only saleable resource, the Saudi royalty have put their country into a mess, the potential for revolution there being acute, should the people discover the real predicament.

IF in fact the above report is true, look for further, and more intense, US military commitment to Saudi Arabia against the Houthi rebels in Yemen until they can be routed, and a US-controlled puppet can be "anointed" as Yemen's next "president".

Of course, the "good reasons" for this increased commitment will be passed off to the American people as concerning ISIS or Al Qaeda, or the rebels, but the real reason for enhanced US military activities here are Yemen's oil reserves, and the strategic, geopolitical importance of Bab El- Mandab.

Webmaster addition: So, it would appear that control of Yemen's oil and port was Saudi Arabia's payoff to act as the US proxy against the people of Yemen trying to oust their imposed puppet rulers.

Syria Mufti: Terrorists Offered Peace in Return for Concessions to Israel

Since the outbreak of the foreign-backed militancy five years ago, the Syrian government has been receiving offers to make a tit-for-tat deal to end the crisis, Hassoun said in an interview with the Lebanese al-Mayadeen TV channel.

Since 2011, “we have been receiving unofficial offers to make a deal that would end it: 'If you announce you would end hostilities against Israel and if you expel the Palestinian resistance from your territory and cut your relations with Hezbollah, we would stop fighting against you.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iranian Special Forces arrive in Aleppo

The official page of the pro-government militia “Liwaa Al-Baqir” was the first to report their arrival; however, there has been no official confirmation from the Iranian Ministry of Defense. If the news of the 65th Brigade’s arrival to southern Aleppo proves true, then they will likely play an integral role in the coming offensive to seize the Idlib Governorate’s border with Aleppo. Unlike the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the 65th Brigade – also known as the “Green Berets” – predated the 1979 Islamic Revolution and operates under a different branch of the military. More importantly, the 65th Brigade differs from the other Iranian forces deployed to Syria because they are primarily a special operations unit.

Is Jabhat Al-Nusra Waiting for Clinton?

...There is also the curious case of the secret CIA trip to Moscow - the meeting that actually mattered, not the Geneva talks, which are mainly for the cameras. The CIA will have most likely discussed what will happen with Raqqa, which is ultimately what the war in Syria will boil down to. Currently, the 4+1 is planning a large offensive in Aleppo as they are seemingly aware that Al-Nusra is willing to dig their proverbial heels in as the HNC could not regain diplomatically what groups like Ahrar al-sham, Jund al-Aqsa, and Jaish al-Islam lost militarily. This is simply because the Russian airforce has been extremely efficient in their operations, even introducing the KA-52 helicopter into the arena. Iran has also been more than willing to send IRGC troops into Aleppo to give Turkey and/or Saud something to think about should they finally cross the red line.

No compromise with US over fate of Syria President Assad - senior Russian diplomat

The main demand of US side in Syria talks – the ousting of President Bashar Assad – is absolutely unacceptable for Russia as it destroys the prospects of a political settlement, Russia’s deputy foreign minister says.

“We will never agree with our colleagues in Washington, as well as in a number of other capitals, who maintain that the whole task should be tuned by the well-known phrase reading ‘Assad must leave’,” Sergey Ryabkov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He went on to explain that in Moscow’s view such an approach contradicts not only the Russian foreign policy doctrine, which does not accept any attempts to change political regimes in sovereign countries from abroad (so-called ‘color revolutions’), but also due to the fact that such demands deprive the political process of any prospects for success.

U.S. weighs ramping up deployment of special forces to Syria

The U.S. administration is considering a plan to greatly increase the number of American special operations forces deployed to Syria as it looks to accelerate recent gains against Islamic State, U.S. officials told Reuters.

The officials, with direct knowledge of the proposal's details, declined to disclose the exact increase under consideration. But one of them said it would leave the U.S. special operations contingent many times larger than the around 50 troops currently in Syria, where they operate largely as advisors away from the front lines.

The proposal is among the military options being prepared for President Barack Obama, who is also weighing an increase in the number of American troops in Iraq. A White House spokeswoman declined comment.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And what, precisely, does the White House think Russia's response will be to an "enhanced invasion" of Syria, where the US has not been invited to deal with the militants (which they will not, as ISIS is trained and funded by the west)?

I would very politely suggest to the White House, Pentagon, State Department, and Congress to please think this scenario through to its ultimate conclusion before they sign off on it.

Regime change in Syria could have unexpected consequences, at this moment in history; I would really like to hope that the US government will not go there now.

He said the Turkish president allows the terrorists "to move into Turkish territory, to carry out maneuvers with tanks."

Assad Ready For Snap Elections As Kremlin Denies Report Of Russia-US Plan To Help Him Flee Syria

Last week, Bashar al-Assad celebrated one of the most significant (at least from a symbolic perspective) military victories in the history of his government’s campaign against opposition groups battling for control of Syria.

With the help of Russia and Hezbollah, Assad’s army liberated the ancient city of Palmyra from Islamic State. Palmyra is a UNESCO world heritage site and over the course of the last nine or so months, ISIS has obliterated a number of priceless artifacts on the grounds that they are monuments to paganism.

Needless to say, it’s better that Assad control the city than ISIS. Even the US State Dept. was forced to (begrudgingly) admit as much.

US Warns Assad Against Forming New Coalition With Opposition

With some progress apparently being made in the peace talks, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad says he believes a new constitution could be ready in a matter of weeks and a new unity government, including both the existing government and rebel factions, could be formed with little difficulty.

Convincing the rebels, such as they are, may not be the tough part, however, as the White House was quick to condemn Assad’s comments, and to warn that the US will never recognize any Syrian government that includes Assad.

The US has made regime change their stated goal in Syria for years, and has been bankrolling a series of not particularly successful rebel outfits to try to see that happen. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest insisted a government including Assad is an “obvious” non-starter.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What Al-Assad is proposing here seems completely logical, but it will not give the US government the outcome it wants, which is Al-Assad out of office, so of course, the US government condemns this approach.

I have to wonder just what the US government is prepared to do to if in fact it appears that Al-Assad is able to make his proposed coalition government work, and doubt that they will be wanting to hold hands with the Syrian government, and sing "Kumbyah".

I just get the sense that something wicked this way comes, because the US government has gone too far down this road to quit now; and the announcement that the US (and other countries) were pulling out families of of troops in Turkey makes me wonder if Turkey will wind up as the "lynch pin" for a false flag inside the country, to be blamed on Syria, and off we go.

SECOND SYRIA FAIL: U.S. STATE DEPT SPOKESMAN CAN'T ANSWER QUESTION ABOUT ISIS VS. ASSAD IN PALMYRA

Shortly after a video emerged showing the Saudi Ambassador to the United Nations, Abdallah al-Mouallimi failing miserably in an effort to justify his nation’s call for elections in Syria while simultaneously refusing to agree to elections in Saudi Arabia, a new contender for “worst defense of your nation in an interview” emerged. This time, the miserable fail comes from the United States and State Department Spokesman Mark Toner.

In another example of what happens when a Western, GCC, or Israeli political figure is simply asked a real question and even timidly held to the fire, Toner was asked whether or not the recent victory of the Syrian Army over ISIS in Palmyra was a positive development. In fact, the question was direct; did he prefer ISIS or Assad control Palmyra? Such a question would provoke an easy answer on the side of Assad from any reasonable person. But Toner does not represent a reasonable person or a reasonable government. He represents the U.S. State Department.

Webmaster's Commentary:

ISIS, a.k.a. Daesh, was created, funded, and trained by various US assets, to destabilize the Al-Assad government, and generate regime change which, thanks to Russian military help, it has so far been unable to do.

That is the reality, folks, and your tax dollars at work; the US government supports terrorists when it is convenient to them to do so, period, end of discussion.
