Audits Of Asset Forfeiture Program Uncover Funds Used To Pay Student Loans, Property Used As Rent-Free Housing

Student loan debt is a serious problem here in the US as the price of higher education continues to outpace every standard economic yard stick. Lots of people think the government should step in to do something about it. While the administration makes helpful noises and tries to figure out how it can effectively tell Americans it's alright to rack up debt and walk away from it without actually, you know, encouraging Americans to get deeply in debt and walk away from it, one government employee is taking the bold steps the US government won't to eradicate student loan debt… specifically, his.

NYPD Cops Beat Man in Target Store for Refusing to Identify Himself

New York City police say they held a young man down and beat him in a Target store because he “refused to identify himself” Saturday evening in an incident caught on video. The beating could have been much worse if it was not for the growing crowd of witnesses either recording or yelling at the cops to stop beating him. In fact, more cops came out of nowhere to control the restless crowd, which appeared ready to start pulling officers off the man they were beating.

"Nathan Bedford Forrest's Redemption"

By Shane Kastler
As a student of history I have studied many lives from the American Civil War. The one that intrigued me most was the notorious Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was a tremendous cavalry officer for the Confederacy; yet also had a reputation for racism on a massive scale. The marks against Forrest are that he was a slave-trader prior to the war and an early leader in the Ku Klux Klan afterward. The first statement is a fact, the second statement is debated.

After the war ended in 1865, Forrest worked with many former Union soldiers and employed former slaves in his various business ventures. At one point he was investigated by the Federal government's “Freedman's Bureau” to make sure he was complying with the law regarding his black employees. The only complaint the Bureau had of Forrest was that he paid the former slaves higher wages than the government thought they should receive and that Forrest allowed the former slaves to own guns.

Legalized Gov’t Theft of YOUR Property: “Prosecutor Lives in Seized House Rent-Free for Years”

They bring guns, tanks and the authority of shiny government badges – and they want what's yours.

Under civil asset forfeiture, we are witnessing systematic abuse by the watchers at its richest and most fabulous: politicians, local and regional officials, judges, cops, prosecutors – everyone is invited to party with stolen cars, luxurious houses, spending cash, flashy jewelry and other valuable assets seized from people who "might" be criminals but aren't necessarily charged or convicted.

‘The video is not good': Cincinnati braces for footage release in campus cop killing of Sam Dubose

Ohio prosecutor is refusing to release body camera video from the fatal police shooting of an unarmed black man during a traffic stop — but top officials are suggesting that the video disputes the campus police officer’s claims of self-defense.

Officer Ray Tensing, of the University of Cincinnati police department, shot and killed 43-year-old Sam Dubose during a routine traffic stop July 19 near campus.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is not the country I used to believe I lived in, a place of law, tolerance, and true justice.

And when it is the police who are behaving the most lawlessly, with brutal contempt of the citizens (particularly minorities) they allegedly protect, something has gone radically wrong with the American psyche. This cannot, and should not, be tolerated.

‘A sick joke': Cleveland police union fundraises for cop by raffling off gun like one that killed unarmed man

The Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association this week defended its plan to raise money for an officer by raffling off a gun similar to one he used to kill an unarmed man.

Cleveland Officer Alan Buford was put on desk duty in March after he shot and killed 18-year-old Brandon Jones while trying to arrest the unarmed man on suspicion of burglary.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The only way this kind of act could be rationalized by the Cleveland PD is through the demonstration of collective mental illness.

Is killing unarmed perps now the norm in Cleveland?!? Do the citizens actually feel more safe, if this has become the norm?!?

Or is any civilian now fair game for this police department, even if they have done nothing wrong?!?

And if this officer is having trouble paying his bills, because he has been re-assigned to desk duty, perhaps he might have considered this outcome before he decided to shoot to kill.

PET FOOD SOLD IN U.S. IS PRODUCED BY SLAVE LABOR IN THAILAND

Feeding a pet in the United States can sometimes mean indirectly feeding the slave trade in Thailand.

An investigation by The New York Times found many leading pet food brands in the U.S., including Iams, Meow Mix and Fancy Feast, buy seafood for their products from Thai Union Frozen Products, Thailand’s largest seafood company.

However, Thai Union owns a cannery, the Songkla Canning Public Company, which gets forage fish from boats that use slave labor. The forage fish, small and cheaply priced, are harvested in the South China Sea, where migrant workers from Cambodia and Myanmar spend years at sea against their will.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Perhaps these American companies need to spend less on advertising, and more on insuring that there is a decent quality of life for the providers of their seafood.

Kitchener women say they were stopped by police for cycling topless

Three Kitchener, Ont., sisters are planning to file a formal complaint after they say they were stopped by a police officer for cycling topless.

Tameera, Nadia and Alysha Mohamed took off their shirts while riding their bikes in downtown Kitchener on Friday evening because of the heat. They say they received mostly positive reaction, until a police officer stopped them on Shanley Street.

Tameera Mohamed and her sisters say they were stopped by a Waterloo Regional police officer for cycling downtown while topless. (Submitted by: Tameera Mohamed)

"He said, 'Ladies, you need to put on some shirts,'" said Tameera Mohamed. "We said, 'No we don't ... it's our legal right in Ontario to be topless as women.'"

Sun columnist Katie Hopkins calls for ‘euthanasia vans’ as Britain has ‘far too many old people’

Media personality Katie Hopkins claims the UK has “far too many old people” and says she would be “super keen on euthanasia vans” to eradicate the problem.

The controversial Sun columnist, who only recently apologized for the language in her inflammatory piece which referred to immigrants attempting to cross the Mediterranean as “cockroaches,” said it was “ridiculous” that animals could be put to sleep, “but not people.”

In an interview with the Radio Times, she argued although medical science allowed people to live longer, that didn’t necessarily mean it was the right path to choose.

“We just have far too many old people,” she said. “It’s ridiculous to be living in a country where we can put dogs to sleep but not people.”

New Legislation Would Place Breathalyzers in All New Cars

As time goes on, cars are becoming less of a symbol of freedom and status, and more like automated golf carts that coddle their drivers. Every other year they add more features that take the driver’s ability out of the loop, and track the whereabouts of said driver, with the ultimate endgame being a car that simply drives itself, that can be stopped remotely, that you can’t modify, and you probably won’t even own. In the name of “safety,” these machines are no longer being built as an expression of your freedom to travel and your standard of living.

Transhumanist Candidate Wants “Brain Implants to Manage Violent Actions of Prisoners”… And Society

Zoltan Istvan, presidential candidate for the Transhumanist Party, thinks that prisoners would be better motivated to obey the law if the death penalty were abolished, and it be replaced by implanting a surveillance brain chip that notify the law and can even deploy a “tranquiliser triggered to block violent behavior.”

Of course, once it becomes legal to control the brains of one sector of society (convicted criminals), the rest of society may follow, each with their own rationales and justifications that make using spy chips inside the brain somehow acceptable.

Government of Venezuela Forces Farmers to Hand Over Food

The government of Venezuela is playing Monopoly, but it isn’t the kind with those little plastic hotels.

They’re controlling essential goods like food, and putting the retail establishments of the country out of business.

According to a UK Telegraph report, the government is now forcing farmers and food manufacturers to sell anywhere from 30-100% of their products to the state, as opposed to stores and supermarkets.

There’s a pattern in collapses around the world.

13-minute video: What do you care enough about to create in our/your future, citizen?

*hyperlinks/video live at source*

hat tips: ZenGardener and Mark Passio

“What we care about on a day-to-day basis acts as the driving force of our thoughts and actions. Therefore, Care can be seen as the ultimate Generator of the quality of our experience.” - Mark Passio

What do you care enough about to think, say, and do as a citizen?

Let’s consider arguably the single most important example for your care as a citizen: stopping unlawful Wars of Aggression in order to have literal world peace.

Do you care enough about your family and community members, who in the century we were all born, sacrificed through two world wars?

The legal victory our families sacrificed to win are two treaties that make current US, UK, Israel wars unlawful Wars of Aggression, the most worst crime a nation can commit. We also know that our own government agencies admit all reasons for war were known to be lies as they were told.

Andrew Geddis: Message on prisoner voting rights 'unequivocal'

Because New Zealand has an unwritten, largely informal constitution, it can change in quite major ways without generating much fanfare.

One such development took place last Friday with the delivery of the High Court's judgment in Taylor v Attorney-General. This case involved a challenge by five prisoners to a 2010 law that prevents all sentenced prisoners from voting. (Before 2010, only prisoners sentenced to three or more years in jail were stopped from doing so.)

After hearing this challenge, Justice Heath concluded that the 2010 law limits prisoners' right to vote as guaranteed under the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act, and does so in a way that cannot be "demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society." That finding was no real surprise; the Attorney-General already had warned Parliament about the problem before the law was passed.

John Key admits New Zealand's drugs bill will rise (through TPP)

Prime Minister John Key has admitted that New Zealand will have to pay more for medicines if it signs up to the Trans Pacific Partnership but he says this was unlikely to affect consumers.

Negotiations on the 12-nation agreement are now in their final stages, and ministers will travel to Hawaii this week to try and complete the deal.

Mr Key told reporters this morning that it was "highly probable" that drug patents would last longer under the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), and that meant Government would have to pay for the original drug - as opposed to the cheaper generic version - for longer.

"But for consumers that won't make any difference because on subsidised drugs you pay $5 for your prescription. So the Government may incur slightly more costs there."

Transhumanist Candidate Wants “Brain Implants to Manage Violent Actions of Prisoners”… Then Everyone

Maybe the solution to all crime is more surveillance and direct control over the minds of all prisoners, anyone marked with violent tendencies and ultimately everyone in society.

That’s what one futurist is proposing, as he runs on a political platform based around psycho-physical state control over mind and body.

Brain implants able to manage out-of-control tempers and violent actions of prisons were suggested to minimise crime rates in the United States and as alternative for death penalty, according to Zoltan Istvan.

UN Remains Barred From Visiting US Prisons Amid Abuse Charges

When U.S. President Barack Obama visited the El Reno Correctional Facility in Oklahoma last week to check on living conditions of prisoners incarcerated there, no one in authority could prevent him from visiting the prison.

Obama, the first sitting president to visit a federal penitentiary, said “in too many places, black boys and black men, and Latino boys and Latino men experience being treated different under the law.”

The visit itself was described as “unprecedented” and “historic.”

But the United Nations has not been as lucky as the U.S. president was. Several U.N. officials, armed with mandates from the Geneva-based Human Rights Council, have been barred from U.S. penitentiaries which are routinely accused of being steeped in a culture of violence.

“The Second Amendment must go” Liberal media openly calls for mass gun confiscation in America

Eventually Illing gets to the point of the matter which in a nutshell is a rehash of the same talking points used by gun control zealots in the past. The Constitution is old, it’s not really that important, and it can be changed whenever the majority decides.

The Second Amendment fanatics will surely remind us that guns are quintessentially American. That’s true, of course: the Second Amendment exists. But that’s not the end of the conversation. That something is written in the constitution doesn’t mean it’s sacrosanct.

The document, after all, enshrined slavery and denied full personhood to black people. At any rate, contrary to the disastrous Supreme Court ruling in 2008, the Second Amendment protects militias, not the individual’s right to carry a pistol in a supermarket or a theatre. It wasn’t until the NRA bought the Republican Party (Jindal included) and began pushing for a reinterpretation of the amendment that it came to mean something other than it does.

U.S. Holds the World Record of Killings of Innocent Civilians

A world-renowned Canadian philosopher argues that the United States holds the world record of illegal killings of unarmed civilians and extrajudicial detention and torturing of prisoners who are detained without trial.

He also believes that the U.S. has become a police state, which treats its citizens in the most derogatory manner.

The Disappearing Retirement Fund

As a general principle, I’ve always tended to avoid entrusting others with my money. I’ve avoided funds, as they are often based upon investments that are peaking or close to peaking. I’ve avoided pension funds, as they’re often structured in a similar manner.

And whenever by law I’ve been required to be invested in such funds, they’ve rarely been successful over the long term. In the end, I would invariably have made more money by pursuing those investments that had great promise but at the time were unpopular (and therefore underpriced).

As dubious as I tend to be of conventional investment schemes (and those who broker them), I am doubly dubious of any government-run scheme. Governments, historically, have proved to be poor money managers, and politicians tend to place more value on big promises that garner votes than on delivering on those promises.

Trans-Pacific Partnership talks down to the wire in Hawaii

Pacific Rim officials meet in Hawaii this week for talks that could make or break an ambitious trade deal which aims to boost growth and set common standards across a dozen economies ranging from the United States to Brunei.

Trade ministers go into the talks, which run July 28-31 on the island of Maui, with high hopes of an agreement to conclude the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), the most sweeping trade deal in a generation and a legacy-defining achievement for US President Barack Obama.

But the toughest issues have been left until last, including monopoly periods for new life-saving medicines and preferential treatment for state-owned companies as well as more traditional trade issues such as opening protected markets to competition.

"This meeting will be extremely important to decide the fate of the TPP negotiations," Japanese Economy Minister Akira Amari told reporters on Friday (local time).

Labour needs to stand firm on TPPA

Trade Minister Tim Groser and his counterparts from eleven other countries gather in Maui this week to finalise the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) ahead of an informal deadline of the US Congress's August recess.

I would say they have a 90 perc ent chance of pulling it off now that President Obama has Fast Track authority. But it's far from a done deal.

The Minister knows whatever he signs off on can't be undone at home. But politically, National needs bi-partisan support to legitimise the unpopular agreement.

The Labour caucus released its policy on the TPPA through TVNZ on Thursday (as distinct from the more detailed policy the Labour Party conference passed several years ago). A flurry of spin proclaimed Labour would not support the TPPA "if it undermines New Zealand's sovereignty".

The policy contains five carefully worded conditions. Only one is a true red line - the right to regulate foreign investment in residential land.

The outdated matrix programming by the engineers of deceit can’t keep up. The vibrational changes are exceeding their capabilities. The imitators of creation can’t maintain a current operating system any longer in the face of this massive Universal shift we’re undergoing.

And it’s driving them nuts.

Just look at the desperation we’re witnessing. Crude military and police state maneuvers are only one aspect, of course working in concert with dastardly economic manipulations and an outlandish propaganda barrage. Backyard Chickens Must Be Registered in North Carolina for Your Own Safety

There isn't much that feels more self-reliant than going out to your backyard hen house to get fresh eggs for breakfast. There's no need for USDA approval, you know what your hens have been eating, and you don't have to pay a premium price and hope that the farm who raised the chickens that laid those grocery store eggs actually treated the hens humanely.

It's pure freedom, this control over your own food.

Of course, until you have to register your chickens. Then, as food freedom activist Joel Salatin says, "Everything I want to do is illegal."

With so many people moving towards self-reliance, you had to know it was only a matter of time before the government got involved.

30 Reasons Why Saying “Don’t Want to Get Hurt By Cops? Don’t Break the Law” is an EPIC FAIL

Greek Austerity and its Resemblance to African Debt Peonage

Only 10 days after the Greeks voted ‘No’ by a substantial majority against the Troika’s demands, Tsipras went further and put $55 billion of Greece’s national assets into a privatization ‘trust’ fund under EU supervision. This comes from Tsipras who had pledged to halt privatization in January’s election campaign. The deal is so harsh that even the IMF has criticized it.

It would be missing the point to say that Tsipras was hostile to the Troika. International finance institutions like it best when seemingly ‘radical’ figures do the dirty work for them rather than the professed neo-liberals. They would actually spin and portray the ‘reforms’ as ‘good for the people’. Even better so if the ‘radicals’ do not wear a tie.

Are Countries Obligated to Fend Off Climate Change?

On June 24, 2015, a court in The Hague ordered the Dutch government to act faster in its duty to protect its citizens against the effects of climate change. This marks the first time the issue has been legally declared a state obligation, regardless of arguments that the solution to the global climate problem does not depend on one country’s efforts alone. The decision was based on various branches of law, including, most importantly, human rights. In effect, it makes the Dutch government accountable for greenhouse gas emissions on its own territory, an outcome other countries may also need to heed.

Tianjin is no normal Chinese city. BlackBerry encrypts data such as emails and its BlackBerry Messenger messages sent between a user’s phone and public networks, ensuring greater privacy for users but making life harder for police and intelligence agencies.

Chilling Effects: UK Police Admit To Investigating Journalists For Covering Snowden Leaks

Remember back when UK law enforcement detained David Miranda while he passing through Heathrow airport for nine hours, under an anti-terrorism law, claiming that journalism could be terrorism? Apparently, UK law enforcement is really doubling down on that claim, with the new admission that there is an ongoing and open criminal investigation into the reporters who have published Snowden documents.

Vive le Act Patriotique: Liberté, égalité, fraternité, pick any two. No, not those

France’s constitutional court (Conseil Constitutionnel) has ruled that the new French version of the Patriot Act is legal.

The Projet de Loi Relatif au Renseignement was passed by the upper chamber of parliament earlier this month, but has attracted outspoken criticism from civil liberties organisations, who described it as “an assault on human rights”.

The fast-tracked law will give French intelligence services lots of new snooping superpowers with little or no judicial oversight.

US State of Georgia sues 'terrorist' for publishing its own laws ... on the internet

The State of Georgia in the US is suing the owner of the Public.Resource.org website for publishing the State of Georgia's own laws online.

According to the lawsuit [PDF] filed this week, Carl Malamud has "engaged in an 18 year long crusade to control the accessibility of U.S. government documents by becoming the United States’ Public Printer."

Although an alternative reading could be that he was simply publishing public laws on the internet.

At the center of the issue is not Georgia's basic legal code – that is made readily available online and off – but the annotated version of it. That annotated version is frequently used by the courts to make decisions of law, and as such Malamud decided it should also be made easily accessible online.

Georgia says that information is copyrighted, however, and it wants him to stop publishing it.

It is Hard Work Keeping the Anti-Gun Dream Alive

The dying idea of gun-prohibition has given us failure after failure. Each failure demands a successively larger media campaign to keep the gun-prohibition fantasy alive. It becomes harder and harder to sell gun-prohibition to anyone except the liberal medial. The media spin would be funny except for the number of disarmed victims.

FLASHBACK 2013 - In Government, Nothing Succeeds Like Failure

The White House's decision to suspend enforcement of Obamacare's health insurance standards because of the website debacle was politically wise. (Its legality and implementation, however, remain uncertain.) But the main lesson we should draw from this incident is not that government can quickly change course in the face of failure. Rather, it teaches just the opposite: once Washington commits to a policy, it reverses direction only when waves of opposition engulf it.

GERMAN LEGISLATION Threatens COIN COLLECTORS WORLDWIDE Please Help?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Rather a long video, but the issue is that the German government is considering legislation imposing new requirements for the provenance of items like old books, ancient coins, and so forth. Now, there is no question that such provenance is needed as there is a great deal of fraud in antiquities, as illustrated by the Oded Golan epic, in which scientists determined that several of the items he tried to sell were hoaxes (yet somehow the Israeli courts found him innocent). But this law, crafted without input from collectors and dealers, imposes a twenty-year retroactive requirement for documentation, and places the burden of proof on the owner of the antiquity. Absent such a record or proof, the item is presumed under the law to be a fake, and therefore worthless. Coupled with the cost of compliance, this will drive many dealers out of business.

Requiring a twenty year record would be acceptable starting today. To require such a record from a time when it was not required is unrealistic, as is presuming items to be fake from the start absent such proof. There are no doubt a great many religious relics that fail that legal requirement (along with virtually every claim used to start a war these days).

This is another case of government taking a ham-fisted approach to a real problem, and ending up causing more harm than good!

It Cost The Koch Brothers Only $299,000 To Block Labeling Of Genetically Modified Foods

According to The Center for Food Safety: "Koch Industries’ subsidiary, Georgia-Pacific, is a member of the Grocery Manufacturers Association, which donated more than $7 million against the recent Washington State ballot initiative to label GE foods. Monsanto, another GMA member, was the single largest contributor to that campaign. Between Washington State and California, Monsanto, GMA (including Georgia-Pacific), and others, have contributed over $67 million to keep consumers in the dark about GE foods."

Others quickly jumped onboard, especially those who would reap the biggest incremental profits such as biotech companies, and now the GMA and other industry groups like the Biotechnology Industry Organization are cheering Pompeo's legislation.

At the time, many were livid that a full-court press by a few corporations and even fewer billionaires would keep Americans in the dark as to the genetic content of the food they eat:

GOP Elites Plot to Bar Frontrunner Trump From Debate

As if we need more proof of how tone deaf and self-destructive GOP elites can be towards their most reliable voters, the New York Times reports that at a weekend meeting of the Republican Governors Association there was an attempt by some “donors and operatives” to come up with a plan to bar current Republican frontrunner Donald Trump from the presidential debates.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The polls show Trump as the GOP's best bet against Hillary's presumed nomination, yet they are willing to throw that away because Trump won't play by their rules. That kind of decision making will likely drive a great many GOP voters into the Democratic camp, or to Trump's potential third party.

“You? A Tax Evader?”

It’s no secret that governments worldwide are broke. One country after another is cutting social benefits and taking other measures to reduce government spending.

Take France, for instance. It’s under pressure from the EU to reduce its budget deficit to 3% of GDP. That’s the maximum permitted under the Maastricht Treaty, the agreement underpinning the EU. Currently, it’s at about 4%.

To comply with these rules, France cut family allowances and reduced grants to local authorities. It’s also started a renewed crackdown against tax evasion. It even laid off 7,500 soldiers.

But that’s not all. France also recently expanded incentives for new residents. The incentives exempt from tax some forms of income generated outside France.

That policy will reduce tax collections in the short term. But in the long-term, French decision-makers believe an influx of well-heeled foreigners will help lower the country’s budget deficit.

Capitalism, Engineered Dependencies and the Eurozone

Near-term technological considerations aside, the question that the Greeks and other peoples of the West may wish to ask is why banks and bankers whose livelihoods derive from the public grant to create and allocate money should be allowed to use it to rule the world? The quote from economist Joan Robinson that ‘The only thing worse than being exploited by capitalism is not being exploited by capitalism’ refers to precisely this type of engineered dependency, not to a natural state of the world. With its mandate to remain within the union it is but another set of bodies warming the chairs at ‘negotiation’ tables listening to the dictates of the Troika.

FLASHBACK: Obama Campaign Is Modeled On Alinsky

Obama is not like other candidates, and part of this training is learning to mimic the methods he used before he was an elected official — back when he was a community organizer in Chicago following the textbook of legendary agitator Saul Alinsky.

Saul Alinsky wanted results

Rivals of Obama know that while he may at times appear to channel Martin Luther King Jr., his methods sometimes give evidence of his allegiance to Alinsky, who shunned starry-eyed idealists and recommended purging do-gooders from organizations. Alinsky wanted results. And his methods often forced the hands of elected officials.

Hillary Clinton, Saul Alinsky correspondence revealed

Previously unpublished correspondence between Hillary Clinton and the late left-wing organizer Saul Alinsky reveals new details about her relationship with the controversial Chicago activist and shed light on her early ideological development.

Clinton met with Alinsky several times in 1968 while writing a Wellesley college thesis about his theory of community organizing.

Clinton’s relationship with Alinsky, and her support for his philosophy, continued for several years after she entered Yale law school in 1969, two letters obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show.

13 Rules For Radicals – Alinsky’s Guide For Activists

The end is what you want and the means is how you get it
— In war the end justifies almost any means
— Any effective means is automatically judged by the opposition to be unethical
Tactics, like life, require that you move with the action
— Tactics means doing what you can with what you have
— Tactics is the art of how to take and how to give
For an elementary illustration of tactics, take parts of your face as the point of reference; your eyes, your ears, and your nose.

Selling Off Apache Holy Land

Three hundred people, mostly Apache, marched 44 miles from tribal headquarters to begin this occupation on Feb. 9. The campground lies at the core of an ancient Apache holy place, where coming-of-age ceremonies, especially for girls, have been performed for many generations, along with traditional acorn gathering. It belongs to the public, under the multiple-use mandate of the Forest Service, and has had special protections since 1955, when President Dwight D. Eisenhower decreed the area closed to mining — which, like cattle grazing, is otherwise common in national forests — because of its cultural and natural value. President Richard M. Nixon’s Interior Department in 1971 renewed this ban.

Want to be rich? It helps if you're a psychopath: Economist reveals common factors among the world's wealthiest people

He begins with ancient Rome. Marcus Crassus, one of the triumvirate who ruled in the 1st century BC, was at least 400,000 times richer than the average citizen.

By our more scrupulous standards today we would probably regard him as an out-and-out villain. But around the world there are still people making vast fortunes by grabbing what isn't theirs to grab. I shall not name names, but you probably know who I mean.

As one begins reading Patrick Wood's "Technocracy Rising," the key programs, organizations, and global conglomerates outlined in the book will be quite familiar; with many readers knowing most of the names of the key participants in the global push for a world run by a “Technocratic Elite.” Surprisingly, these people do things right out in the open.

Technocracy is not new, as the utopian dream of a world run by men of science has been “alive and well” for many decades. As you can probably surmise from the title of Pat Wood’s book, technology plays a vital role in the Technocrats’ evil plan of world domination...

Greece’s Parliament Cannot Override the NO Vote. The Agreement with the Creditors is Illegal

While the result of a referendum is not always legally binding, it nonetheless provides an explicit political mandate to the government which has to be followed. A referendum cannot be based on an a priori deception. The results cannot be ignored in a democracy.

The referendum was held while the Tsipras government had already decided to cave in to the creditors.

Neither the Parliament nor the government can rescind the VOTE of the Greek people on the July 5 2015.

The mass incarceration policy in America over the last 40 years has created more problems than it has solved. The research from University of Michigan economics professor, Michael Mueller-Smith, has proven that prison terms don’t rehabilitate a criminal and turn them into a law-abiding citizen.

Corrections 'stepping in' over Serco debacle

The Corrections Department has confirmed plans to take over Serco's management of Mt Eden Correctional Facility.

Corrections Minister Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga said this afternoon that a management team would take over the day to day running of the prison from Monday "for the immediate future".

Serco's staff would remain on site, but a Corrections Department Prison Director and their team would oversee the prison.

At a press conference this afternoon, Mr Lotu-Iiga reiterated that Mt Eden Correctional Facility was a difficult prison to run because of its remand status and transient population.

"But it's important that the public of New Zealand has confidence in our prison system," he said.

The minister said Corrections' intervention was not a signal of no-confidence in Serco, and the company's management of Wiri Prison in South Auckland would not be affected by the events at Mt Eden.

Concerns over extending welfare

A move to extend a youth welfare service to older teenagers has received initial backing from Labour - despite reservations about how young people will be assessed.

The youth service programme provides wrap-around support for young people, who can receive parenting advice and help to budget, pay bills and get into education.

That will be extended to at-risk 18- and 19-year-olds, as well as all 19-year-old parents on welfare.

People in that age group will be assessed when they apply for a benefit and those judged at risk of long-term welfare dependence will receive youth service support.

Teen parents will be obligated to attend a parenting course, enrol their children with a primary health organisation and have them attend early childhood education, and complete health checks.

Those deemed eligible will not be able to opt out of the youth service.

In Wake of Immigrant Murders, Obama Admin Declares New Goal: Improve ‘Customer Service’ for Illegal Aliens

In a dramatic but little-noticed bulletin from United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Obama Administration has announced a new executive amnesty program that would allow an unknown number of foreign nationals residing in the United States illegally to access provisional waivers that would allow illegals to either remain in the country without consequence or return home and be eligible to instantly apply for a green card.

The news release from United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) says the Administration’s proposed rule “would expand eligibility for provisional waivers of inadmissibility based on the accrual of unlawful presence.”

The phrase “accrual of unlawful presence” refers to living in the United States illegally, and the phrase “waivers of inadmissibility” means eliminating the rule that illegal immigrants are inadmissible for legal status.

In the video we see and hear Bland being brutally attacked and arrested for expressing her opinion (after the arresting cop asked her for it), refusing to put out the cigarette she was smoking in her own car, or resisting arrest (let the nonsense of that excuse for an arrest settle in). After Bland is in handcuffs and other cops are present, you can even hear the cop who arrested her trying to work out, while on the phone with someone, a story to excuse his abuse of Bland.

As the cop escalated his physical attack, Bland yelled. Bland cursed. Bland insulted the policeman. She asked him repeatedly to give a logical justification, which never came, for his physical aggression against her.

“We’re gonna’ trip the light,
we’re gonna’ break the night.
And we’ll see with new eyes
when we trip the light.

Remember we’re lost together,
remember we’re the same.
We hold the burning rhythm in our hearts.
We hold the flame.” - Trip the Light song from Matt’s dance video (Garry Schyman, sung by Alicia Lemke)

Playing for change contributes to the human challenge to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world. “Where the hell is Matt” Harding resonates a similar contribution.

In observation we all make, it seems 95%+ of humans want a world these videos artistically communicate: love, cooperation, and genuine progress.

Trump is Correct, John McCain is NOT A Hero

First a bit of an introduction on the meaning of HERO…

The word hero in today’s world is far overused. “Hero” is so much overused it has diluted the value and real meaning and has cheapened the word for those who actually deserve the term.

McCain all by himself nearly sank a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier…

McCain, when a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy was a Navy pilot (they call themselves aviators). July 29, 1967 while on the deck and in his plane on the carrier U.S.S. Forrestal he managed to screw up procedures (officially denied and covered up by him and the Navy and also even promoted on Wikipedia if you care to look–reason to follow). He did a smart ass punk attention getting trick by doing a “wet start” up of his jet.

The Biggest Gun Grab in US History?

As the L.A. Times reported on July 18, the Social Security Administration (SSA) is currently developing a program to strip the Second Amendment Rights of over four million Americans currently receiving SSA benefits through a “representative payee.” Not only would this amount to the largest gun grab in American history, but according to the published report, would take place without any due process protections for recipients, amounting to a nullification of Second Amendment rights for millions of Americans who don’t pose a threat to themselves or anyone else.

The American Nightmare: The Tyranny of the Criminal Justice System

Liberty Movement Needs More Innovations To Counter Technological Tyranny

There is no centralized system so trustworthy, no political establishment so free of corruption that the blind faith of the citizenry is warranted. If free people do not remain vigilant they will be made slaves by their own leadership. This is the rule, not the exception, and it applies to America as much as any other society.

Far More Despicable Than Treason.

America is an occupied nation. Our soldiers die at the whim of our occupying powers. Our wealth is stolen. Our streets are occupied by millions of street thugs. Our government imports illegal drugs into the USA by the planeload which is sold at a profit. Then drug addicts rob us to pay for their addictions. Often those same planes that flew drugs into America are used to fly out children who were sold to wealthy pedophiles overseas.

The occupying power has been looting us. The Department of Defense has admitted that they spent $8.5 trillion that cannot be traced. I remember Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert saying that Dubai bank managers told them that American contractors from Iraq and Afghanistan made average deposits of $2.5 million in cash before rotating home.

A grand jury this afternoon indicted Dylann Roof on 33 federal counts, including hate crime charges, a move that made the 21-year-old man a defendant in one of the worst racially motivated attacks since the civil rights era, sources close to the investigation told The Associated Press.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It must be remembered that Dylan was on medications known to trigger violence, that he appeared to witnesses not to want to so the shooting, then tried to kill himself like the good little Manchurian candidate he was, but had run out of bullets.

Donald Trump gives Israel political bear hug in midst of 'Mexican rapist' backlash

Jul. 3, 2015

“The only [candidate] that’s going to give real support to Israel is me,” he told JNS.org. “ The rest of them are all talk, no action. They’re politicians. I’ve been loyal to Israel from the day I was born. My father, Fred Trump, was loyal to Israel before me. The only one that’s going to give Israel the kind of support it needs is Donald Trump.”

And if he was the best thing for Israel, the current U.S. president, he charged “is one of the worst things that’s ever happened to Israel. I think he’s set back [Israeli] relations with the United States terribly, and for people and friends of mine who are Jewish, I don’t know how they can support President Obama. He has been very bad for Israel.”

War Profiteers: Victoria Nuland and Co. Making Money on Endless Wars

American neocons have turned wars into a profitable business, a US investigative journalist exposes, nailing Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and her husband, arch-neocon Robert Kagan, for their dubious foreign strategy.

Despite the unsuccessful and disastrous Iraqi war launched under the George W. Bush administration, neocons still play the first fiddle in Washington, American investigative journalist Robert Parry emphasizes.

7 Secret CIA Operations You Were Never Supposed to Hear About

"Can we get control of an individual to the point where he will do our bidding against his will and even against fundamental laws of nature, such as self-preservation?"

That's from a real 1952 CIA memo. The man who wrote it was presumably a bald, grinning scientist with a vaguely European accent, a personal shark tank, and a loyal pet cat.

Most of the time, we suspect our government is protecting us, but every now and then, we discover that our tax dollars have helped fund some truly bizarre and f*cked up programs. When the smoke has cleared and the documents have been declassified, we see that the history of the CIA has more in common with science fiction than we could possibly imagine.

Missing Gold, Unpayable Debts, Financial Crises, Bail-Outs and Bail-Ins… There Must Be a Better Way

The US congress bailed-out the banking sector, General Motors, and others with $700 Billion from TARP.

The Federal Reserve added approximately $4 Trillion to their balance sheet with Quantitative Easing and other programs in their effort to bail-out the banking cartel since the 2008 crisis.

Cyprus banks confiscated deposits, after the elite and insiders exited early, and they called it a bail-in. That confiscation is the template for future bank failures in Europe, Canada, the US and other countries.

We may eventually see similar confiscations (bail-ins) in Greek banks, as well as in Spain, Italy, Ireland, the United States, and others.

There must be a better way!

The Price Of Gold Gets “Curiouser And Curiouser!”

“Edward Bernays was Sigmund Freud’s nephew. He believed that the population had to be manipulated in a democracy to keep order. As I mentioned yesterday, Bernays was instrumental in getting women to smoke for his cigarette company client and to get the American people to support a CIA overthrow of a Guatemalan government that was uncooperative with United Fruit Company. Bernays uses the lowest instincts of humans and appeals to those “animal spirits” over their better judgement to influence mass viewpoints.” This summary of the roots of modern U.S. propaganda techniques was sent to me by Jay Taylor, LINK.

Josef Goebbels implemented Bernays’ theories and techniques in crafting the infamous Nazi Germany propaganda machine. As Naom Chomsky chronicles in his preface to Bernays’ book, “Propaganda,” the U.S. Government and U.S. corporations hired Bernays in late 1920’s in order to utilize his techniques on the American public. The rest, as they say, is history…anyone remember 9/11?

‘No Comment': NBC Covers Up Evidence of Immigration Crime Wave

Tomorrow, the Judiciary Committee will hear testimony from Americans who lost loved ones to criminal alien violence. On Sunday’s Meet The Press, Chuck Todd made a declaration that would surprise these devastated families: “We couldn’t find a single study that links violent crime and immigration.”

Apparently neither Mr. Todd nor his research staff ever thought to look up the government’s own 2011 report on criminal alien activity, published by the Government Accountability Office.

Breitbart News emailed Mr. Todd and his show to ask why the government’s own data, and a great deal more information, which would have disproven Mr. Todd’s sweeping declaration, was omitted. A staff aid to Mr. Todd replied: “no comment.”

Ex-NATO commander suggests WWII-style camps for radicalized Americans

Retired US General Wesley Clark suggested that radicalized youth in America and other Western nations should be segregated the way Nazi sympathizers were held in camps during World War II.

11-minute video: Japan awakes to being an economic slave colony of the US, approaching revolution

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

hat tip: Luke Rudkowski of WeAreChange and economist Marc Abela

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW_Bs7xHLL4&feature=em-subs_digest

Economist Marc Abela explains in the video that Japanese are awakening to the fact that their government serves interests other than those of the Japanese people:

Prime Minister Abe works for increasing and ongoing financial support of US unlawful and lie-began wars, including keeping the US military on bases in Japan.
Abe works for increased domestic surveillance similar to the US and UK.
Japan, as all former imperialist nations, creates what they use for money as debt. These mechanics are like adding negative numbers forever, and cause increasing, unpayable, tragic-comic total debt.
Despite Japan’s debt, they are a leading buyer of US debt with $1.2 trillion.
Robotics is not leveraged to decrease work time, but used to drive wages down and cause the people to work ever-increasing hours to survive.
