‘I’d bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding’ – Trump at debates

I've had enough of this little phony. First he says he will have Canadian Ted Cruz as his Veep. Now he comes out for torture. This guy jumped the shark. He is buddy's with Netanyahu. This is the Neocon Stealth Candidate.
People in the alternative media who support this Neocon IDIOT better take another look at The Donald! Once again we have been had!

The Republican debates have wrapped up in New Hampshire, with some formidable bickering, topped by poll leader Donald Trump’s comment that he would “bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding.”

Trump is also the person who recently in November said he does not care if torture doesn’t work, because “they deserve it anyway.”

Here Comes WHO: Zika Hype Goes Global

snip: Here’s what we are not told: the Zika virus was first isolated in 1947 and is associated with fever, rash and joint pain which usually lasts 2-7 days and does not result in death. It has never been associated with microcephaly. There has been a minor increase in microcephaly cases reported in Brazil but also a massive over-reporting of potential cases. And there has been no demonstration of a link between Zika and microcephaly.

Unarmed and Afraid in a Gun Free Zone

There are places in America where is ILLEGAL…actually AGAINST THE LAW…to save the life of someone who is in danger. Yes, you read that correctly. Imagine it being a crime to act as a first responder inside a first-aid-free zone. Politicians have passed laws that say “a person who possesses the instruments and skills to save lives may not, under threat of legal action, use their training and tools in these protected-zones”. Does that sound ridiculous to you? Well, it does to me too. But, that is EXACTLY the reality of so-called “gun-free” zones.

The 200 Rulers of Global Finance

There has been an economic coup d’état in America and most of the world. We are now ruled by about 200 unelected central bankers, monetary apparatchiks and their minions and megaphones on Wall Street and other financial centers. Hillary misleading about email probe during debate, former FBI agents say

In the New Hampshire debate with Senator Bernie Sanders, which aired on MSNBC, Clinton told moderator Chuck Todd that nothing would come of the FBI probe, “I am 100 percent confident. This is a security review that was requested. It is being carried out.”

Not true says Steve Pomerantz, who spent 28 years at the FBI, and rose from field investigative special agent to the rank of assistant director, the third highest position in the Bureau.

“They (the FBI) do not do security reviews,” Pomerantz said. “What they primarily do and what they are clearly doing in this instance is a criminal investigation.”

Risking World War III in Syria

Defense Secretary Ashton Carter last October said in a little noticed comment that the United States was ready to take “direct action on the ground” in Syria. Vice President Joe Biden said in Istanbul last month that if peace talks in Geneva failed, the United States was prepared for a “military solution” in that country. The peace talks collapsed on Wednesday even before they began. A day later Saudi Arabia said it is ready to invade Syria while Turkey is building up forces at its Syrian border.

If the situation unravels there is the possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist principality in eastern Syria (Hasaka and Der Zor), and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion (Iraq and Iran).

Sydney's fun police have put out the light of the nightlife. The city's a global laughing stock

In 1999, Sydney was at its peak – the Olympic Games were imminent and there was unbridled optimism that Sydney was about to emerge as an international city as the millennium approached. Internationally, Sydney was renowned as an incredibly fun place to live; the entertainment was world class, with great restaurants and venues to visit at any time of night.

Something pernicious has happened in the 15 years since, and Sydney has not just regressed into a ghost town, but there is an undercurrent of something much more sinister in the way the city is being run.

As I write this in 2016, not a day goes by without the press reporting of yet another bar, club, hotel, restaurant or venue closing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Claire and I were in Sydney in 1999. It was a wild place. Sorry to hear it has been toned down.

Two Separate Judges say the Federal Government has Acted Illegally in their Attack on Oregon’s Ranchers!

now, there are at least two Superior Court Judges, who are also common law judges under the Postmaster General of their respective regions in Alaska and Colorado, are pointing out the actions of the Bureau of Land Management and the actions of criminal politicians in the united States government to undermine the American view of government and law. This is especially enlightening with what has been going on with the Bundys, the Hammonds and the death of LaVoy Finicum.

Judge Anna Maria Riezinger and Judge Bruce Doucette issued a letter in which they exposed the illegal actions of the BLM and the unconstitutionality of what is really taking place in Oregon.

In speaking with Judge Bruce Doucette (Colorado) via telephone, he told me that this is all true and that one could reference Judge Reizinger’s website (Alaska) for more information, as well as his Facebook page.

Rebels deploy child soldiers to fight in northern Aleppo

This is a disgusting warcrime on the part of the US government and the Pentagram!

The Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), the Free Syrian Army (FSA), Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki have begun to use child soldiers in their fight against the Syrian government forces inside the Aleppo Governorate after the latter launched a large-scale offensive to capture much of the province’s northern countryside.

According to local sources, soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) have reported a number of firefights in which children were being deployed by the Islamist rebels to help drive back the government forces.

Some of the children were described as “pre-teen” and unable to properly fire the automatic rifles they were being sent to battle with.

Understanding False Flag Operations In Our Time

I would say that all of that confusion, all of that hopelessness is by design. I believe this now. I don’t believe, as I might have years past, that the people on top, they’re trying to do their best but it’s a tough world out there. No. No. No. They want you to feel helpless. They want you to be confused. Let’s talk about why.

One reason why is that the whole planet is being stolen. You’ve got this many people who want to own every single thing that’s worth owning in this planet – all the water, all the genetically modified foods they want to shove down your throat, all the minerals in the ground. They want every single thing. And they’re getting it. They’ve got it, actually, and they just want more. That’s the way it’s happening.

It’s a transnational corporate financial theft of everything. It’s a war. When there’s a war, the people who are running that war really don’t want you to be able to react to it. They don’t want you to be cognizant of what is happening. And they want you to be quiet about it. They want you to obey and be compliant.

False wars, false ‘money,’ false media… False Flag Super Bowl?

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

Your question: If US 1% oligarchs concluded they could get away with it, would they stage a False Flag Operation (and here, here) at the 2016 Super Bowl to further their political agenda? Perhaps it would look like this 2-minute clip from the 2002 movie, The Sum of All Fears; with plot of a non-complicit US President and non-false flag terrorism:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-h_xgdM8FI

Considerations for your answer: History is the best tool to predict future events of specific groups’ plans. This is similar to what both Super Bowl teams do in game strategy: analysis of opponents’ history with reasonable conclusions what they’ve successfully done before, they will likely do again.

But is there a US 1% oligarchy that would orchestrate a False Flag Super Bowl attack? Isn’t that beyond reason???

Oregon occupation spokesman LaVoy Finicum remembered as devout cowboy with a touch of mischief

KANAB, Utah -- Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, spokesman of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupation, was commemorated Friday in a southwestern Utah town that helped emblazon the image of a cowboy riding into the sunset on the American collective memory.
Finicum lay in a pine casket built by his family. On the inside of the lid were the words "One Cowboy's Stand for Freedom" -- he kept a blog by that name -- inside a barbed wire border. On the top was the brand Finicum used on his cattle. The handles were horseshoes bent to allow a handhold.
Finicum's body was dressed in white, and an American flag was laid across the chest of the man killed by Oregon State Police at a roadblock Jan. 26.
About 1,000 people were on hand for the service, held at the Kaibab Stake Center, part of the Mormon church.Finicum's memory is being celebrated far beyond Kanab this week.

by Mac Slavo - Radiation Alert: L.A. Gas Well Spewing LETHAL LEVELS Of Breathable Nuclear Material: “Fukushima Class Disaster”

In a breaking development that has been completely ignored by mainstream news sources, the leaking natural gas well near Los Angeles, California is now reportedly spewing lethal levels of radioactive material, according to a report from Steve Quayle and a group with expertise in nuclear material.

A leaking natural gas well outside Los Angeles is spewing so much naturally-occurring Uranium and Radon, that “breathable” radiation levels have hit “lethal levels” according to a Nuclear Expert group.

Hal Turner of Super Station 95 reports that the well is releasing 1.91 Curies (Ci) of radiation per hour.

This rogue well is spewing huge amounts of natural gas and about 1.91 curies an hour of natural radioactive material in the natural gas… 1.91 curies an hour is about 45.9 curies per day… It’s a really, really big leak.

A curie is a unit of measure in the U.S. to describe very large radioactive releases.

The War On Savers And The 200 Rulers Of World Finance

What kind of crank economics contends that brutally punishing two of the great, historically-proven economic virtues——-thrift and prudence—-is the key to economic growth and true wealth creation?

In this age of relentless consumption and 140 character tweets, what kind of insult to common sense argues that human nature is prone to save too much, defer gratification too long, shop too sparingly and consume too little?

Forget all of their mathematical economics and DSGE model regressions. Our 200 unelected rulers are enthrall to a dogma of debt that is so primitive that it’s just plain dumb.

By purchasing existing debt with digital credit conjured from the “send” key on central bank computers, they make room for more and more of it. And they do so without the inconvenience of deferred consumption or an upward climb of interest rates owing to an imbalance of borrowings versus savings.

Monsanto Actually DID Buy the BLACKWATER Mercenary Group

A report by Jeremy Scahill in The Nation revealed that the largest mercenary army in the world, Blackwater (later called Xe Services and more recently “Academi”) clandestine intelligence services was sold to the multinational Monsanto. Blackwater was renamed in 2009 after becoming famous in the world with numerous reports of abuses in Iraq, including massacres of civilians. It remains the largest private contractor of the U.S. Department of State “security services,” that practices state terrorism by giving the government the opportunity to deny it.

Almost simultaneously with the publication of this article in The Nation, the Via Campesina reported the purchase of 500,000 shares of Monsanto, for more than $23 million by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which with this action completed the outing of the mask of “philanthropy.” Another association that is not surprising.

Israeli Military Censor Seeks to Expand Control to ‘Prominent’ Facebook Users

The Israeli military censor usually tries to stay out of the headlines. It’s not always easy, as several times high-profile Israel-related stories have broken in the US media first, and aren’t “allowed” in Israeli papers for days after.

Those incidents are a constant reminder that in Israel, nothing even vaguely national security-related gets published in an Israeli paper without the military censor’s say-so. Today, the military censor is trying to extend that control even further, presenting “orders” to high-profile bloggers and Facebook users, demanding they be placed under the same control.

At least 30 Israelis have received such orders. Many, like Yossi Gurvitz, are outspoken critics of the Israeli government’s policy. Gurvitz says he will be pursuing legal options to get around having to pre-submit all his criticisms to the military censor and get permission before publishing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Deliberately confusing criticism of the Israeli government with criticism of the Jewish people is a handy tactic, used by the Israeli government ever since its inception.

This will mean the end of what little freedom of speech Israelis had previously known, and the beginning of even more draconian, Orwellian propaganda by the state, which the Israeli people will be ORDERED to believe, and never dare question.

Despite a succession of false flag attacks and warnings of a “thirty years war,” a few thousand lightly armed jihadists were an insufficient replacement for the Soviet Union and its thousands of nuclear ICBMs. It was an uncomfortable notion that the “world’s only superpower” could not dispose of a few terrorists.

So we are back to the Cold War with Russia. The propaganda is fast and furious. “Putin is the new Hitler.” “Russia invaded Ukraine.” Russia is about to invade the Baltics and Poland.” “Putin is a corrupt multi-billionaire.” “Putin is scheming to recreate the Soviet Union.” These accusations become headlines despite US military spending being a dozen or more times higher than Russian military spending and the Russian government expressing no hegemonic aspirations.

House bill requires women to sign up for draft

Two House Republicans introduced a bill Thursday requiring eligible women in the United States to sign up for the military draft, just days after it was recommended by the Marine Corps and Army.

Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., a Marine veteran, and Rep. Ryan Zinke, R-Minn., a retired Navy SEAL, filed the Draft American’s Daughters Act to stoke debate over the military’s historic move to fully integrate female troops into all combat roles. If passed, women from 18-26 years old would for the first time have to join men in registering with the Selective Service program and potentially be forced to fight in future wars.

“If this administration wants to send 18, 20-year-old women into combat, to serve and fight on the front lines, then the American people deserve to have this discussion through their elected representatives,” Hunter said in a released statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If nothing else tells you a major war is coming, these two pieces of legislation, and the timing of their introduction, should.

Why else is Congress thinking about deploying America's next generation of moms into hard combat, which can easily translate into death, or the maiming for life, of the women deployed?!?

Israeli dissident ordered to submit Facebook posts to military censor

“The military censorship served me with an order today, demanding to pre-vet any post or Facebook status I wrote about the IDF [Israeli army] or the defense ministry system,” Gurvitz wrote in a series of Tweets on Wednesday. “I do not intend to comply with the demand and I am considering my legal options,” he added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

WHY IS MY KINDERGARTNER BEING GROOMED FOR THE MILITARY AT SCHOOL?

Military recruitment efforts, whether societal or sponsored directly by the US military, reach children as young as preschool, priming them to think of war and soldiering as cool and exciting, without any discussion of the trauma and death they bring. (Image: Jared Rodriguez / Truthout)

When he got home from Iraq, Hart Viges began sorting through his boyhood toys, looking for some he could pass on to his new baby nephew. He found a stash of G.I. Joes - his old favorites - and the memories came flooding back.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please note that these parents were not notified about this impending lesson in advance, and had absolutely no power to ask that their kids be opted-out from this pro-military exercise.

On the other side of the island of Oahu, there is the very formidable Kaneohe Marine Air Station, which every year features a "fun fair" where families are invited, and the atmosphere is one of a carnival.

But one of the most interesting aspects of this is watching young military men, who are great communicators, and great with kids, talking to wide-eyed youngsters about the wonders of the weapons they are seeing, and sometimes, very carefully, climbing over.

Of course, no mention is ever made, during these "teachable moments", of the carnage and annihilation, these instruments of death create.

This is the propaganda of empire, which cares not that our young men and women are killed or maimed for life; just that the wars provide the necessary profits and logistical resource control to allow that financial empire to grow, with absolutely no thought as to what the human sacrifice must happen in order to maintain and enhance corporate profits.

UN panel rules Julian Assange arbitrarily detained, entitled to liberty & compensation

A UN panel has ruled that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been ‘arbitrarily detained’ in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, calling upon the UK and Sweden to end Assange’s deprivation of liberty.

"The Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) … considered that Mr. Julian Assange was arbitrarily detained by the Governments of Sweden and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,” the statement said.

The group concluded that the WikiLeaks founder “is entitled to his freedom of movement and to compensation.”

NAVY STAGING 2-WEEK LONG ACTIVE SHOOTER DRILLS ON BASES NATIONWIDE

Starting this week, Sailors and Marines from coast to coast will spend half the month engaged in response training to stop active shooters and potential terrorists in their tracks.

The exercise, Solid Curtain-Citadel Shield 2016 (SC/CS16), will run through Feb. 12 and will test base police, fire and emergency management on how they respond to threats of active shooters and potential terrorists including role-playing on installation buildings with safe or simulated weapons to get a grip on how a more serious event could take place.

Navy officials cite past instances of attacks on installations stateside as a guide on what to be prepared for.

Last July, a terror attack by a gunman at two Navy installations in Chattanooga, Tennessee left four Marines and one Navy Sailor dead and an additional Marine and police officer wounded.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I cannot tell you why, but the announcement of these exercises is making me extraordinarily nervous.

To what end are these "exercises" happening, and what is the US government and military expecting to happen, that these exercises are deemed necessary right now?!?

US, JAPAN, CANADA, AUSTRALIA AND 8 OTHER COUNTRIES SIGN TRANS PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

The Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) would be horrible for Americans and the people of the world.

But most politicians are thoroughly corrupt. Neither the Democratic or Republican parties represent the interests of the American people. Both parties ignore the desires of their own bases.

So today, 12 countries – Brunei, Chile, New Zealand, Singapore, Australia Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, United States and Vietnam – signed the TPP.

They never followed through on their promise of an open and lively debate.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Politicians in the US care only for the corporations which fund their campaigns; those people they allegedly represent have become totally irrelevant, and an annoyance to the acquisition of their person wealth.

At this moment, Americans politicians can only be characterised as a pernicious disease, metastasizing in a system guaranteed to offer them untold wealth, as long as they explicitly follow the orders of their corporate masters.

And Lloyd Blankfein wonders why the American people are furious, and ready for massive change this year, other than the establishment, which has bankrupted them, to assure the establishment's permanent gain?!?!

LEAK REVEALS DENVER POLICE USE UNDERCOVER ‘SHADOW TEAMS’ TO TARGET PROTEST LEADERS

A leaked police manual reveals how Denver police respond to marches and other forms of protest, including their use of undercover “platoons” of officers to pick out leaders for later arrest.

On Jan. 19, Unicorn Riot, an independent media collective with several members in the state, published a heavily redacted version of the 2011 edition of the “Denver Police Department Crowd Management Manual” obtained through a Colorado Open Records Act request. Days later, an anonymous source sent them an unredacted copy of the 2008 edition of the manual. The two editions appear to have few differences and the policies described in both versions match the behavior of police toward protests, according to activists and journalists interviewed by MintPress News.

“This manual has been a tremendous help to our reporting in terms of understanding the police apparatus that is deployed at protests,” representatives of Unicorn Riot told MintPress by email.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The police in this country, very much thanks to their training courtesy of the IDF, have become a thuggocracy to be feared and avoided, whenever possible.

And NEVER, ever in this country call 911 to assist in controlling someone who is either mentally ill, or coming down off medications; there is at least a 50/50 chance that police "assistance" in those cases, will result in that person's death.

In fact, as you will see below, a new survey has found that there is nowhere on the entire planet where the average wage earner is making enough money to live “the American Dream”. Once upon a time, the United States had the largest and most prosperous middle class in the history of the world, but now the middle class makes up a minority of the population, 51 percent of all American workers make less than $30,000 a year, and poverty is growing rapidly.

At first, I thought that General Zod being a space alien, and not a natural born citizen of the U.S., would be a roadblock to his ascension to power. Fortunately, after seeing how the Ted Cruz campaign has flicked away any rational concern about his citizenship status like dandruff, I think it’s safe to say General Zod’s “undocumented status” is a PR campaign away from being forgotten. It’s also worth noting (in case you haven’t already mumbled this to yourself by this point in the article) that one thing all these anti-gun politicians seem to forget is that nowhere in the Constitution is the guarantee that government can’t infringe on your right to own a car. Also, people willing to commit gun crimes aren’t likely to check with their insurance agent first. Still, supporters of such ridiculous proposals argue that insurance companies, seeing a huge incentive for profit, could become a powerful ally in the battle to create new barriers for legal gun ownership.

The Continuing Demonization of Cash

The insidious nature of the war on cash derives not just from the hurdles governments place in the way of those who use cash, but also from the aura of suspicion that has begun to pervade private cash transactions. In a normal market economy, businesses would welcome taking cash. After all, what business would willingly turn down customers? But in the war on cash that has developed in the thirty years since money laundering was declared a federal crime, businesses have had to walk a fine line between serving customers and serving the government. And since only one of those two parties has the power to shut down a business and throw business owners and employees into prison, guess whose wishes the business owner is going to follow more often?

Canadian Academic Dr. Hassan Diab, Wrongfully Convicted for a Crime He did not Commit

We want to use the power of the documentary form to tell the story of our friend Dr. Hassan Diab [pictured left], a Canadian academic who is at serious risk of a wrongful conviction for a crime he did not commit.

Hassan was extradited to France in November 2014, where he is expected to stay in pretrial detention for at least two years. In France, Hassan is subjected to an unjust legal process where discredited handwriting analysis and unsourced intelligence are used against him.

We would like to make a good quality documentary for online sharing and public showings to spread the word far and wide about the injustices in Hassan’s case. We hope this documentary will help raise awareness about Hassan’s case and Canada’s unfair extradition law, stop the use of discredited evidence against Hassan, and prevent his wrongful conviction.

Turkey preparing for military action in Syria: Russia

The Russian Defense Ministry spokesman says Moscow has serious grounds to suspect Turkey of preparing for a military incursion into Syria.

“The Russian Defense Ministry registers a growing number of signs of hidden preparation of the Turkish Armed Forces for active actions on the territory of Syria,” Igor Konashenkov said on Thursday.

“We are recording more and more signs of concealed preparations by the Turkish military,” he added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Further evidence of these preparations can be found in today's http://tass.ru/en/defense/854610:

Many checkpoints on the Turkish-Syrian border can be used for preparing infrastructure for a military intrusion into Syria, Konashenkov went on to say. Konashenkov showed the photos of one of the border checkpoints, where grounds protected by security guards were being expanded. "In wartime, such methods are used for preparing the transport infrastructure ahead of a military intrusion. Such grounds are usually used for ensuring quick movement of military convoys with weapons and ammunition as well as for prompt transportation and evacuation of personnel. There are plenty of such examples, in which troops and military hardware are involved, on the Syrian-Turkish border," the Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson said. Russia’s Defense Ministry earlier provided convincing video evidence to the world public that Turkish self-propelled artillery systems were shelling Syrian populated areas in north Latakia. "We’re surprised that talkative representatives of the Pentagon and NATO and numerous so-called organizations for the protection of human rights in Syria have kept silent so far, despite our call for reacting to these actions," the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman said. Russia’s Defense Ministry has intensified all kinds of reconnaissance in the Middle East, the spokesman said. "That is why, if someone in Ankara thinks that the cancellation of the Russian inspectors’ observance flight over Turkey will help conceal something, then this looks unprofessional," Konashenkov said. More: http://tass.ru/en/defense/854610

IF, in fact, these Russia reports are true (and I see no reason to doubt them), the following scenario is very plausible.

Turkey attacks Syria; Russia counter-attacks Turkish forces (or there is a false flag making it appear that this was the case), and Turkey invokes Article 5 of the NATO Treaty.

This means that all of NATO's military are, by treaty obligation, constrained to protect Turkey from any attacker, as though they all had been attacked by Russia.

Welcome to World War III, ladies and gentlemen.

US-Led Coalition Continues Bombing Syria, Telling Russia to Stop

The US-led international coalition continued bombing targets across Syria, Russia's military said, while demanding that Russia stops its own campaign as part of a ceasefire deal.

Aircraft of the international coalition inflicted 12 powerful strikes in five provinces of Syria between Monday and Wednesday, Russia's Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

Defense Ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov noted that Russia has been accused of targeting areas which "never had terrorist groups" amid a tentative preparation for talks, an allegation he called absurd. Konashenkov countered allegations previously voiced by US Secretary of State John Kerry, noting that the US-led coalition has continued its strikes while condemning Russia's.

"This is especially true of targets engaged outside Raqqa, where aviation of the so-called anti-ISIL coalition supposedly does not fly and does not bomb," Konashenkov told reporters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Russians are being effective, in tandem with their Syrian military counterparts, so much so that they are very close to taking the city of Aleppo.

Kerry's hypocrisy is showing big-time, because if Syria and Russia are able to control the Western part of the country, they will have far more leverage as to what happens with the rest of Syria, and that is the polar opposite of what the US and Turkey want to see happen here.

Bernie has Goldman Sachs CEO running scared: Sanders’ candidacy is a ‘dangerous moment’

The head of a major banking firm is “feeling the Bern” but not in the way many of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ voters are.

Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein said Sanders is tapping into class-based anger against growing inequality and called his candidacy a “dangerous moment.” Blankfein was speaking Wednesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” according to Politico.

“It has the potential to personalize it, it has the potential to be a dangerous moment. Not just for Wall Street not just for the people who are particularly targeted but for anybody who is a little bit out of line,” Blankfein said. “It’s a liability to say I’m going to compromise I’m going to get one millimeter off the extreme position I have and if you do you have to back track and swear to people that you’ll never compromise. It’s just incredible. It’s a moment in history.”

In January, Sanders was asked to list examples of corporate greed, and he listed Blankfein, according to Politico.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to Lloyd Blankfein: sir, what the too big to fail banks did to so many when the mortgage and economic crises hit, coupled with relentless offshoring/outsourcing of jobs, has many Americans furious, underemployed, and economically on the skids.

They have an absolute right to their anger; the question is, how will that anger be expressed?!? As a Christian pacifist, who never advocates violence (because violence is something the Federal government is ready to suppress, with extreme prejudice), I am hopeful that the anger people feel will not be expressed through violence.

Unfortunately you, and those like you, are incapable of having a profoundly necessary "Buddha on the Road moment", because you have become deaf, dumb, and blind to the misery so many of the policies you champion have caused.

But there is a question that you and your colleagues need to address: if candidates for both parties are simply "pre-manufactured" and both completely beholden to the major corporations and banks, what does that say about the American political process?!?

Such choices, by the Democrats and Republicans, would ultimately and logically mean that the American people have absolutely, utterly no say whatsoever in the political process, and it is so crooked that the corporately "chosen" politicians have to screw their socks on in the morning.

The Fed needs to be abolished; money should become a public utility, and not a loan at interest; the allegedly "too big to fail" banks need to be broken up, and the needs of the people, not the needs of the corporations, must again become the first, and foremost priorities for this government.

The so-called "financial establishment" has had more than enough time to fix those fundamental, integral problems which have been destroying the American economy, and with it, its people, and has failed, utterly, miserably, and horrifically.

This, sir, ultimately, cannot continue, and I hope the change coming in this country will be peaceful

Another Runaway General: Army Deploys Psy-Ops on U.S. Senators

The U.S. Army illegally ordered a team of soldiers specializing in "psychological operations" to manipulate visiting American senators into providing more troops and funding for the war, Rolling Stone has learned – and when an officer tried to stop the operation, he was railroaded by military investigators.

The orders came from the command of Lt. Gen. William Caldwell, a three-star general in charge of training Afghan troops – the linchpin of U.S. strategy in the war. Over a four-month period last year, a military cell devoted to what is known as "information operations" at Camp Eggers in Kabul was repeatedly pressured to target visiting senators and other VIPs who met with Caldwell. When the unit resisted the order, arguing that it violated U.S. laws prohibiting the use of propaganda against American citizens, it was subjected to a campaign of retaliation.

Disgraced ex-IMF chief Strauss-Kahn joins Ukraine bank

Disgraced former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been appointed to the supervisory board of a bank owned by Ukraine's second richest businessman Viktor Pinchuk.

Kiev's Kredit-Dnipro Bank said the decision to accept Strauss-Kahn and five others to the advisory body was taken on Monday and goes into immediate effect. It added that Strauss-Kahn would serve as an independent committee member who does not represent shareholders' interests.

Pinchuk is the son-in-law of former Ukrainian president Leonid Kuchma and is believed to have holdings worth US$1.43 billion (€1.29 billion), according to Forbes magazine.

Strauss-Kahn led the International Monetary Fund from 2007 until his forced 2011 resignation over rape charges in a New York hotel. The scandal derailed the Frenchman's presidential ambitions even though it was later dismissed in court.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Talk about a marriage made in heaven!!

And if Kredit-Dnipro Bank has made the statement that "...Strauss-Kahn would serve as an independent committee member who does not represent shareholders' interests.", it is obvious he will be representing the interests only of its owner, Viktor Pinchuk.

Unfortunately, this won't help the struggling Ukranian economy one bit, and I am sure that Pinchuk and Strauss-Khan have plans to pick up a number of failing Ukrainian businesses for a song, strip their assets, and leave many more unemployed, in the truest sense of vulture capitalism.

A GOLDEN AGE FOR PENTAGON WASTE

As we have often noted one of the giant logs stuck in the eye of many conservatives, people who typically argue for smaller government, is that they often defend military spending with little reservation. Defense, we are told is enumerated in the Constitution and as such is a legitimate expenditure. And yes, defense, is enumerated in the Constitution. Massive unchecked spending, undeclared wars, and bases around the world are not however enumerated in the Constitution.

(From US News)

Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, has called for a full audit of the unit responsible for the most egregious Afghan cases. And on Jan. 20th, the Senate Armed Services Readiness Subcommittee held hearings on the subject. The Pentagon’s witness, Principal Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Brian McKeon, was decidedly on the defensive as senators from both parties peppered him with questions about his department’s poor record keeping and lack of accountability.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This waste and corruption is going to bite the US military in a very sensitive spot, if allowed to continue to go unchecked.

With Russian and Chinese weapons makers, when items are field deployed, they are delivered on time, reasonably within budget, and work as advertised, if not better.

With American weapons makers, there is a nearly incestuous relationship between Congress (whose members are supported, covertly and overtly, by the large weapons makers) and those companies which get the defense contracts.

The outcome of all this is that when US weaponry is delivered, it is very late, has generally had huge cost over-runs, and doesn't perform anywhere near what is specified, once it is field deployed.

IF the US gets into a major war with Russia, and/or or China, the brokenness of our weapons systems is not going to help matters one bit.

Julian Assange is in arbitrary detention, UN panel finds

A United Nations panel has decided that Julian Assange’s three-and-a-half years in the Ecuadorian embassy amount to “arbitrary detention”, leading his lawyers to call for the Swedish extradition request to be dropped immediately.

A Swedish foreign ministry spokeswoman confirmed that the UN panel, due to publish its findings on Friday, had concluded that Assange was “arbitrarily detained”.

The WikiLeaks founder sought asylum from Ecuador in June 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden to face questioning over rape and sexual assault allegations, which he denies.

The panel’s findings were disclosed to the Swedish and British governments on 22 January, and will be published on Friday morning. Their judgment is not legally binding but can be used to apply pressure on states in human rights cases.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It will be interesting to see precisely how this plays out.

FORMER DHS BOSS PUTS UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA EMPLOYEES UNDER SECRET SURVEILLANCE

Former DHS boss Janet Napolitano -- who once stated she "doesn't use email" (for many reasons, but mainly to dodge accountability) -- is now showing her underlings at the University of California why they, too, might not want to "use email": someone might be reading them over their shoulders.

UC professor Christopher Newfield has the inside details of the recently-exposed monitoring system secretly deployed by the University of California (and approved by school president Napolitano) to keep tabs on the communications, web surfing and file routing of its employees. The SF Chronicle has an article on the secretly-installed spyware behind its paysieve [try this link], but Newfield has the internal communications.

The installation of the third-party monitoring software was so secretive that even the university's campus information technology committee was forbidden from discussing it with other staff. The committee has now decided to go public.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I do not quite know what the University of California's execs were thinking when they hired Napolitano, given her history as the DHS head, but they had to know what they were getting in hiring her; someone with absolute, complete contempt for civil liberty; academic freedoms; personal privacy; the Constitution; and the Bill of Rights.

Mistaken ID case: Man was jailed despite being 9 inches taller than the wanted man

Still recruiting officers from the intellectually challenged I see!

Mario A. Garcia was booked into a Los Angeles County jail after law enforcement mistook him for a man with an identical birth date and the same first and last names. Garcia protested that deputies had the wrong man: The other Garcia, wanted on a warrant, was 9 inches shorter, 40 pounds lighter and had a different middle name.

But it wasn't until three days after the arrest that a judge rectified the mistake and released Garcia.

C-SPAN Video of Voter Fraud in Iowa Proves Your Votes Mean Absolutely Nothing

Just after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Hillary Clinton declared herself the winner of the Democratic Party in the much-anticipated Iowa caucuses. Immediately after the ‘victory,’ Clinton went on CNN to bask in her counterfeit fame.

However, as a C-SPAN video shows, Clinton’s ‘victory’ would have nothing to do with ‘luck,’ and her premature declaration of the “razor thin” tie, was no mistake.

The Democratic Party has already chosen its candidate and who the people actually want is irrelevant.

Roseburg area rancher encounters Malheur refuge checkpoints

“They were very professional and kind, but when you have guns kind of pointing at you, it is scary,” Spencer said in describing the scene to The News-Review on Friday. “They (officers) were very, very cautious. They asked us to get out and keep our hands free. They were FBI, but they looked like Army personnel. There were snipers around.

“It felt like a checkpoint in a foreign country,” he continued. “There was no room for error. They asked for ID and ran our license plate. They asked me if I had a gun and I told them I did and where it was in the rig. I told them to help themselves as far as looking, but they actually barely looked around. I guess they were comfortable with who we were after checking our IDs and plate.”

FLASHBACK: Army Report Details How Military Can Be Used Against Tea Party, Right Wingers & American Citizens

The study begins by laying out how the U.S. Army’s Operating Concept 2016-2028 will include military operations throughout the United States. The outrageous report goes on to describe a theoretical situation where the U.S. Army is sent in to a city that has been taken over by Tea Party “insurrectionists”.After demonizing what they call “right-wing demagogues” and “mobs of angry whites” the report goes on to say:

“In May 2016 an extremist militia motivated by the goals of the “tea party” movement takes over the government of Darlington, South Carolina…. The Department of Homeland Security responds to the governor’s request by asking for defense support to civil law enforcement. After the Department of Justice states that the conditions in Darlington and surrounding areas meet the conditions necessary to invoke the Insurrection Act, the President invokes it.”

TPP protesters shut down central Auckland as ministers sign controversial deal

All motorway access points are now open after protesters blockaded the Cook St, Wellington St and Hobson St offramps earlier this afternoon.

But the Transport Agency said commuters should expect delays and some diversions as they head into or out of the central city. The Auckland Harbour Bridge has remained open throughout the protests and traffic is free flowing.

The agency is also advising drivers to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings as there are larger numbers of pedestrians on central city roads than usual.

"Many of them have been moving on and off the roads and walking in front of traffic. Some vehicles are also making sudden lane changes and u-turns to avoid delays."

Earlier, central Auckland grounded to a halt as trade ministers signed the TPP. All streets around Sky City Convention Centre and motorway on and off ramps leading to the central business district were blocked by protesters.

TPPA signing: Thousands take to the streets as trade deal is made official

Protesters against the signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) did not appear to understand the trade deal, Prime Minister John Key says.

Seven years after talks began, the TPPA is now official after it was signed in Auckland by 12 trade ministers on Thursday.

Protesters had gathered outside and security was tight at Auckland's SkyCity convention centre for the official signing.

Key said the TPPA was "overwhelmingly in the best interests of our country and citizens".

New Zealand was proud to be involved in the whole process, which was many years in the making, he said

Oregon standoff leader Ammon Bundy, others indicted

By STEVEN DUBOIS Updated 30 min ago (0)

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A federal grand jury has indicted Ammon Bundy and some of the men and women who joined him at the armed occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge, authorities said Wednesday.
However, the indictment remained sealed and further details on the charges were unavailable.
Defense attorneys demanded the immediate unsealing of the indictment — a request denied Wednesday by U.S. Magistrate Judge Janice Stewart. In a criminal complaint, defendants have a right to a preliminary hearing in which they can question the arresting officer under oath about probable cause for the charges.

After an indictment, they are no longer entitled to such a proceeding.
The cancellation of preliminary hearings that had been scheduled for Wednesday dismayed attorneys for the accused.

Toxic Pool of Bad Loans Threatens World Economy

Beneath the surface of the global financial system lurks a multitrillion-dollar problem that could sap the strength of large economies for years to come. The problem is the giant, stagnant pool of loans that companies and people around the world are struggling to pay back. Bad debts have been a drag on economic activity ever since the financial crisis of 2008, but in recent months, the threat posed by an overhang of bad loans appears to be rising. China is the biggest source of worry. Some analysts estimate that China’s troubled credit could exceed $5 trillion, a staggering number that is equivalent to half the size of the country’s annual economic output.

He goes on to say, "All humor is critical. If we start saying, oh, we mustn't criticize or offend them, then humor is gone, and with humor goes a sense of proportion - and then, as far as I'm concerned, you're living in '1984,'" Cleese said, referring to George Orwell's classic novel.

Jane Kelsey: TPP - all pain, no gain

In New Zealand, we dared to declare ourselves nuclear-free in the 1980s - dire warnings that ditching the Anzus alliance would make us a pariah, isolated and ridiculed never came to pass. Instead, we were celebrated as a small, independent nation with the guts to decide our own future. Why can't we do the same with the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)?

The National Government will today ignore widespread opposition from ordinary New Zealanders when it signs the secretly negotiated deal. Doubtless we'll be fed the old Anzus line that New Zealand can't afford to not to be at the table.

National's glitzy new "TPP fact" page is bad wine repackaged in new bottles. Here's a few facts they don't tell you. The projected economic gains of 0.9 per cent of GDP by 2030 are within their own margin of error, even before costs are factored in and disregarding unrealistic modelling.

TPP protesters shut down central Auckland

Central Auckland has ground to a halt as the signing of a controversial trade deal looms. All streets around Sky City Convention Centre and motorway on and off ramps leading to the central business district have been blocked by protesters.

Inside Sky City Convention Centre, a long table stretched along a stage with big bouquets of blue and white flowers displayed in front and a large screen, with photos of the Sky Tower, Southern Alps, and a tui in rotation with TPP logo, behind.

Dignitaries from the dozen partnership countries were this morning gathering to put pen to paper at 11.30am, a major step in what is being described as the "biggest trade deal in a generation".

The agreement is designed to free up trade and investment between the countries, but has been a beacon for controversy for several years, mainly due to the secrecy of the deal, lack of public consultation and fears New Zealand's sovereignty could be diminished.
