French president’s Holocaust day speech presages crackdown on Palestine supporters

The planned crackdown raises concern that French authorities will use their powers to further censor speech critical of Israel under the guise of combating anti-Semitism

The problem is that Israel and its advocates have tried for years to blur the line between anti-Semitism – bigotry against Jews because they are Jews – on the one hand, and, on the other, criticism of Israel’s colonial occupation, massacres and violence against Palestinians.

Merkel as Soft Cop in False Flag Offensive on Russia

At the World Economic Forum last week, German Chancellor Angela Merkel let the cat out of the bag with her sly offer, or rather bribe, to Russia. The German leader told delegates in Davos that European Union sanctions on Russia would be lifted in exchange for a «peace deal» in Ukraine. She promised a «free trade pact from Lisbon to Vladivostok».

That’s a bit rich coming from the bankrupt EU, but nevertheless let’s accept the assumption that Frau Merkel is offering something very juicy. Why would she do that, and right at this time when civilians are being massacred in eastern Ukraine?

In other words, Merkel is saying if Moscow capitulates to Western objectives of ceding Ukraine to its full political, economic and military control, then Russia will be «paid off» with respite from Western sanctions and can look forward to a tantalizing free trade «happy ending» with the EU. How generous of Frau Merkel!

Scramble to conclude suspicious EU-US trade deal

Critics claim that the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) currently being cooked up between the EU and the United States could:

Weaken workers’ rights and put millions of jobs at risk;
Reduce environmental protection and food safety regulation;
Lead to more privatization of public services like education and our prized National Health Service (NHS);

Give new powers for corporations to sue European governments, including the UK, in secret courts.

They complain that world leaders are working alongside major corporations at breakneck speed to get this deal sewn up, and refuse to give details.
An especially prickly issue is the imposition of investor-to-state dispute settlement rules (ISDS) enabling foreign investors to sue the host government.

Russia In The Cross Hairs. Washington’s Threats have moved Into the Realm of Insanity

Washington’s attack on Russia has moved beyond the boundary of the absurd into the realm of insanity.

The New Chief of the US Broadcasting Board of Governors, Andrew Lack, has declared the Russian news service, RT, which broadcasts in multiple languages, to be a terrorist organization equivalent to Boko Haram and the Islamic State, and Standard and Poor’s just downgraded Russia’s credit rating to junk status.

Today RT International interviewed me about these insane developments.

In prior days when America was still a sane country, Lack’s charge would have led to him being laughed out of office. He would have had to resign and disappear from public life. Today in the make-believe world that Western propaganda has created, Lack’s statement is taken seriously. Yet another terrorist threat has been identified–RT.

Ground Beef Soars To $6 Per Pound In Southern California

As fuel prices remain low, grocery prices continue to soar. Ground beef is $6 per lb. in So. Cal today, and that's for 15% fat - non organic! The USDA Economic Research Service, in their report Food Price Outlook, 2015 stated "Beef and veal prices continued to rise, increasing 18.7 percent year-over-year. Prices remain high, as the U.S. cattle inventory is currently at a historical low. While recent rains in the Southern Plains and Southwest have improved pasture conditions somewhat, the drought still continues in these regions. Most retail beef prices, on average, are also at record highs, even after adjusting for inflation. ERS predicts beef and veal prices will increase 5.0 to 6.0 percent in 2015."

The Elephant in the Room ..... The Origin of Modern Terror and Crumbling Western Values

George Bush told us today’s terrorists hate our freedom and democratic values, but like virtually every utterance of George Bush, that one was fatuous, explaining nothing. Nevertheless, his is the explanation pounded into public consciousness because governments and the corporate press never stop repeating versions of it, the Charlie Hebdo affair and its theatrical posturing over free speech being only the latest. Theatrical? Yes, when we know perfectly well that most of those who marched at the front of the parade in Paris are anything but friends of free speech.

Why You Should Build Your Own Internet

by Brian Berletic

There are a lot of reasons to build your own Internet. In some places, you may have access to the Internet, but not particularly like your service provider or those monitoring and regulating your network. In other places, you may have no Internet (or telecom network) at all.

The solution is not to wait for someone to build the network that meets all your requirements, the answer is to build that network yourself!...

Inevitable Payback - by Ambassador Craig Murray

In this globalised world, if we launch weapons of great destructive power into communities abroad, incinerating and shredding women and children, we cannot avoid the fact that those who identify with those communities – ethnically, culturally and religiously – will take revenge on people here. If we are lucky it will be revenge on combatants. If we are unlucky it will be on our innocents. But either way, the truth is this. We caused it.

The adult content filters being rolled out by some internet providers under a scheme championed by David Cameron are blocking the websites of businesses and charities and are a “distraction” for parents seeking to protect children from online pornography, claim campaigners. TalkTalk announced this weekend that it would follow Sky and become the second of the UK’s four major internet providers to roll out automatic filters for all its customers unless they specifically ask for them to be turned off. It plans to begin applying the blocks to all users’ accounts next month.

Congress Seeks Netanyahu’s Direction

Showing who some in Congress believe is the real master of U.S. foreign policy, House Speaker John Boehner has invited Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session and offer a rebuttal to President Barack Obama’s comments on world affairs in his State of the Union speech.

Boehner made clear that Netanyahu’s third speech to a joint session of the U.S. Congress – scheduled for Feb. 11 – was meant to counter Obama’s assessments.

“There is a serious threat in the world, and the President last night kind of papered over it,” Boehner said on Wednesday. “And the fact is that there needs to be a more serious conversation in America about how serious the threat is from radical Islamic jihadists and the threat posed by Iran.”

Free Speech Endangered: ‘Anonymous’ Journalist Barrett Brown Sentenced for Exposing Gov’t Corruption

The case of Barrett Brown, alleged to have been a spokesperson for Anonymous and accused of being less than a (First Amendment protected) journalist, remains an important case for free speech in the age of mass surveillance, vigilante hacking, reckless and unconstitutional activities by tech firms tied to government and corporate interests.

Hanging in the balance of this and other related cases is the semblance of freedom that society is to have in the information age.

Public awareness and citizen outrage, along with the facts of the case, likely reduced Brown’s sentence to 63 months, with 30 months served, after he initially faced 105 years in prison under charges that interpreted his behavior in the worst possible light – the same light that has generally been cast upon all dissidents, activists and so-called “extremists” in the age of the Internet, that of a potential terrorist, and a menace and danger to society.

The Danger of an MH-17 ‘Cold Case’

The Obama administration continues to drag its feet on releasing U.S. intelligence evidence on who shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 six months ago, a failure that has given the guilty parties time to scatter and has created a new breeding ground for conspiracy theories.

Now more than six months after the shoot-down of a Malaysia Airlines plane over Ukraine, the refusal of the Obama administration to make public what intelligence evidence it has about who was responsible has created fertile ground for conspiracy theories to take root while reducing hopes for holding the guilty parties accountable.

Given the U.S. government’s surveillance capabilities – from satellite and aerial photographs to telephonic and electronic intercepts to human sources – American intelligence surely has a good idea what happened on July 17, 2014, when Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crashed in eastern Ukraine killing all 298 people onboard.

IN PHOTOS ~~ REMEMBERING THE STOLEN DREAMS ON MLK DAY

There were several marches – the one we went on had about 2,000 people. Then we went to Grand Central Station where about 200 of us held up the names of unarmed Black citizens, mostly young men, who were killed by the police. People read about them, who they were, how they died. After each story people said their name, all together, and raised their fist in the air. People passing through stopped to listen. Some family members of those killed were there. After 3 hours someone read King’s last speech and we repeated it, one line at a time (Occupy style) and then everyone sang We Shall Overcome and Keep Your Eyes on the Prize, Hold On. Actually, we did the same thing for 24 hours last week. It is a very powerful experience.

America Is Open for Business in Iraq (Psst… Wanna Buy an M1 Tank?)

6 WAYS COPS HAVE USED SEX TO INFILTRATE AND DISRUPT PROTEST GROUPS

The exploitation of human sexuality is a well-known pressure point in the repression of social movements. Typically such measures are thought to be reserved for military conflicts involving complex, multi-tiered, counter-insurgency campaigns, such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Classically, Israeli handlers would observe and record a Palestinian engaging in extra-marital, homosexual, or otherwise ‘deviant’ sexual behaviors and then leverage the publicity of these fi

Russia signs military cooperation deal with Iran

Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu on Tuesday signed a military cooperation deal with Iran that his Iranian counterpart touted as a joint response to US "interference".

Shoigu is the most senior Russian military official to visit Tehran since 2002, according to Iranian media, and the agreement comes with both countries facing western sanctions.

The deal provides for joint exercises and military training, as well as "cooperation in peacekeeping, maintaining regional and international security and stability, and fighting against separatism and extremism," the Iranian defence ministry website said.

Defence minister Hossein Dehqan told state television that Iran and Russia had a "shared analysis of US global strategy, its interference in regional and international affairs and the need to cooperate in the struggle against the interference of foreign forces in the region."

Yemen President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi is being held captive by rebels who have attacked his compound, just as the U.S. military has moved the USS Iwo Jima and the USS Fort McHenry into the Red Sea, in position to take aboard evacuees from the U.S. Embassy in Yemen if tensions and violence continue to escalate.

Economic War, BRICS, and the Power of Self-Sufficiency

Ulson Gunnar
Activist Post

The toughest, most resilient people as both individuals and as societies all generally have one thing in common – self-sufficiency. This by no means suggests isolationism, but rather the ability to survive, even thrive through one’s own work using resources at their own disposal.

As a principle, self-sufficiency, self-reliance, and individualism defined young nations like the United States, catapulting it upon the world stage as a global leader after spending time racked in debt and in England’s shadow. By establishing its own industry, its own institutions (including those of a financial nature) and its own military might, the United States transcended the tangled webs of interdependency locking Europe’s ever-shifting, fragile alliances together...

Israel won’t survive world public opinion wave

The whole world knows the US and Israel have used the gimmick of “negotiations for peace” since the Oslo Accords. This has been a delaying and diverting ploy on the part of US and Israel, while stalemating the issues and stalling for time to complete the colonization project.

Mustapha pondered whether the attack was stage-managed by the intelligence services, considering the two deceased suspects were being closely surveyed and watched by French intelligence and police for years, their names even showing up on ‘terror watch’ and ‘no fly’ lists.

Mustapha noted in the interview that in Western countries “the full force of the law” is brought down upon critics of Zionism, whereas anti-Islamic neocon zealots are given a platform on mainstream media to spout lies and deceptions intended to demonize Muslims and Middle Eastern countries such as Iraq, Iran, Syria and Libya.

More Police-Worship Propaganda Slated For #SOTU Address As Michelle Obama Invites Interracial LAPD Cop Couple

Police in Los Angeles are in a tweeting frenzy over excitement about bi-racial couple who have been invited to Washington D.C. as personal guests of Michelle Obama for the State of the Union Address tomorrow night.

"Recently, Captain Phil Tingirides, Commanding Officer of Southeast Division, and his wife, Sergeant Emada Tingirides, assigned to Operations-South Bureau, received an invitation from First Lady Michelle Obama requesting their presence at President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address at the U.S. Capitol... The Tingirides have been requested to sit in a box with First Lady Michelle Obama," the LAPD press release said. But a closer look at the LAPD ain't so pretty.

Challenge for Pope: Seize Chance for Religious Renewal

The world now needs a fearless champion with clout, another overturner of money tables, scatterer of vested interests, exposer of hypocrisy and scourge of the unjust... a genuinely heroic figure that ordinary folk around the world can look up to.

In any month nearly 200 Palestinian children are held in Israeli military detention and the numbers remain fairly constant.

His Holiness, on reflection, must know that the situation in Palestine is wretchedly deplorable and an ugly stain on civilization generally and Christendom in particular for allowing it to happen. Praying with villains like Peres and accepting their refusal to allow access to Gaza’s communities doesn’t cut the mustard. Extraordinary evil requires extraordinary measures.

Save you prayers, Holiness, for someone and something more deserving.
Are we just people who use fine and pious words?

Trolling Russia

The edifice of world post-1991 order is collapsing right now before our eyes. President Putin’s decision to give a miss to the Auschwitz pilgrimage, right after his absence in Paris at the Charlie festival, gave it the last shove. It was good clean fun to troll Russia, as long as it stayed the course. Not anymore. Russia broke the rules.

Neither willingly nor easily did Russia break ranks. Putin tried to take Western baiting in his stride: be it Olympic games, Syria confrontation, gender politics, Georgian border, even Crimea-related sanctions. The open economic warfare was a game-changer. Russia felt attacked by falling oil prices, by rouble trouble, by credit downgrading. These developments are considered an act of hostility, rather than the result of “the hidden hand of the market”.

If the initiators expected Russians to be mad at Putin, they miscalculated. The Russian public is angry with the American organizers of the economical warfare, not with its own government.

Syrian Ambassador: France allowed Terrorists who commited Charlie Hebdo massacre to fight in Syria

Ambassador al-Ja’afari: I’m sure you’re aware of the alarming reports of Da’esh coming from Camp Bucca in Iraq, the famous American prison in Iraq. Al-Baghdadi, the caliph of Da’esh, was at Bucca. He was released by the Americans, not by the Syrian president. The men who committed the massacre in Paris, they were fighting in Syria and came back to France. France allowed them to go to Syria, where they killed scores of people, and in Iraq. Then they came back, normally, and the French police let them in. The same terrorists. They are good when they kill Syrians, and they are bad when they kill the French.

Not many weeks after that bizarre presidential pray-in with the Pope, Israel launched its most recent murder spree, Operation Protective Edge, slaughtering nearly 2,200 including more than 500 children, seriously injuring thousands more, making countless families homeless, wreaking massive destruction on vital infrastructure and causing lethal public health problems.

A challenge for the Pope: seize the chance for religious 'renewal'

During his May 2014 visit to the Holy Land, Christianity’s top man was (presumably) prevented from bearing witness to the human suffering in Gaza. Since then Israel has launched yet another murderous assault slaughtering civilians, including children, on a massive scale and afterwards obstructing humanitarian aid and re-construction. Is it time for the Pope and other religious leaders to mobilise and used their clout?

Netanyahu and Europe’s far right find common ground

Israel has been having its own internal debate about the significance of the Paris killings this month, with concerns quite separate from those expressed in Europe.

Dr. King’s Legacy Isn’t Just a Dream. It’s Denouncing War, Poverty, and Injustice

This year, Martin Luther King, Jr. would have turned 85-years-old. Since he embraced peace, practiced nonviolent resistance, and sought a loving society, for years the media has cast him as a sincere, avuncular, dreamy leader. This hardly comports with his essence or his fiercely tenacious battles—against war, racism and poverty—found in his writings, speeches, marches, and jail time.

King died because he was a radical thinker and activist whose movement challenged the powerful and made dangerous enemies. In 1964 when he won the Nobel Peace Prize, FBI director J. Edgar Hoover called him “the most notorious liar in the country.” When he denounced the Vietnam War in 1967 the liberal New York Times and Washington Post roundly condemned him for questioning this part of America’s anti-communist crusade.

Virginia’s New Anti-NDAA Detention Bill Turns the Table on Feds

Kelli Sladick
Activist Post

Virginia stood alone and passed the first bill in the country addressing detention provisions written into the NDAA in 2012. That law forbids state agencies, in some situations, from cooperating with any federal attempts to exercise the indefinite detention provisions written into sections 1021 and 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act.

HB2144, sponsored by Del. Benjamin L. Cline (R – House District 24), takes things two steps beyond simply refusing to cooperate with the federal agents in the event of indefinite detention in Virginia. This bill turns the tables and systematically creates the type of leverage and attention D.C. would not want public if it refuses to cooperate with the state of Virginia...

Note: Substitute your state for Kentucky. It's all the same struggle.

Can we reclaim liberty? Is it even possible, so far down the road? John Adams said, “Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.” We must act as though he were wrong.

What can we do? Clearly voting does not matter. Even with Congress’ abysmal approval rating, the same derelicts are re-elected time after time. While we were sleeping, they changed the rules to favor themselves. We can’t stop them at the voting booth unless we all rise as one and they know it...

Rebels fight Yemeni troops during possible coup

Rebel Shiite Houthis battled soldiers near Yemen's presidential palace and elsewhere across the capital Monday, seizing control of the country's state-run media in a move an official called "a step toward a coup."

The fighting near the palace marks the biggest challenge yet to the government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi by the Houthis, who seized the capital, Sanaa, during their advance in September across parts of Yemen. Many believe deposed President Ali Abdullah Saleh, ousted in a deal after Arab Spring protests, backs their campaign.

Terror in Paris – An Analysis by Dr. Lawrence Davidson

The editor-in-chief of Charlie Hebdo, Stephane Charbonnier, known as Charb knew that the Charlie Weekly approach would work only as long as its ridicule was seen as politically acceptable by both most French people and their government. Defaming national heroes or Jews was out of bounds, but ridiculing Muslims was and is acceptable, and maybe that is why they became Charlie Weekly’s preferred target. That, in turn, made the magazine’s staff targets of Muslim extremists.

Caught On Video: Crazy LAPD Cop Reaches For His Gun In Reaction To Crying 10 Year Old Black Boy

At 6:43 into the video, outside LAPD HQ, an indignant Dixon begins "when you are allowing everyone else to walk past these barriers to walk in that door, but you get some black mothers here, that are demanding it's got to stop, killing our children, and we can't come in?? And we can't come in?? Fuck you, man!" She then starts to daintily climb over the metal barricade in an act of civil disobedience, and a man helps her as she swings legs over the barricade and places her feet onto the ground. There are dozens of cops standing around, all wearing bullet proof vests. None of the cops interfere in her attempt to climb over the barrier in her long skirt, which shows they realize the petite woman is not a threat. Once she is over the barrier and standing, however, the police surround her and start grabbing at her to take her away. A black boy behind the barricade starts to get upset and says what sounds like "don't touch my mom!

Charlie Hebdo, Zionism & Media Deception

On the program I asked Mustapha if Zionism and the octopus of lobby groups that work on its behalf is as big a driving force behind US and broader Western foreign policy as some contend. “France, the US [and other Western countries] are under the domination of Israel,” Mustapha told me. Mustapha contends that Israel’s agents have supplanted all independent leaders in the West, replacing them with grovelling lapdogs who do the bidding of Israel at all costs, even to the detriment to their own people and nations.

We touched on the recent events in Paris, wherein “Islamist” gun-men are said to have carried out a massacre at the headquarters of the Charlie Hebdo newspaper and a kosher market. Mustapha pondered whether the attack was stage-managed by the intelligence services, considering the two deceased suspects were being closely surveyed and watched by French intelligence and police for years, their names even showing up on ‘terror watch’ and ‘no fly’ lists.

Western politics of high-octane emotion

Western governments and their pliable news media are audaciously playing politics with public emotions.

The trouble with this “high-octane emotional politics” is that it stupefies the public from asking some very necessary hard questions of the authorities. By buying into weeping and self-indulgence, the public are at risk of being manipulated like never before.

Just as John Kerry was offering a big hug “to all of France”, the US government this week announced a significant step-up in its military involvement in Syria. The Pentagon unveiled plans to send 500 military personnel to train “moderate rebels” to fight against the elected government forces of President Bashar al Assad.

Can Obama Untangle from Syria’s Civil War?

Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar would all reject a policy that would allow a regime they regard as an Iranian ally to persist in Syria.

Contradictions between the Obama administration’s policy in Syria and realities on the ground have become so acute that U.S. officials began last November discussing a proposal calling for support of local ceasefires between opposition forces and the Assad regime in dozens of locations across Syria.

The proposal surfaced in two articles in Foreign Policy magazine and in a column by the Washington Post’s David Ignatius. Those indicated that it was under serious consideration by administration officials. In fact, the proposal may even have played a role in a series of four White House meetings during the week of Nov. 6-13, to discuss Syria policy, one of which Obama himself presided over.

Neocons: The ‘Anti-Realists’

This neocon madness – this “anti-realism” – has been playing out in the real world on a grand scale, destroying real lives and endangering the real future of the planet.

The primary distinction between the neocons and the liberal interventionists has been the centrality of Israel in the neocons’ thinking while their liberal sidekicks put “humanitarianism” at the core of their world view. But these differences are insignificant, in practice, since the liberal hawks are politically savvy enough not to hold Israel accountable for its human rights crimes and clever enough to join with the neocons in easy-to-sell “regime change” strategies toward targeted countries with weak lobbies in Washington.

Obama to Senators: Choose U.S. Over Donors

The president urged the lawmakers to “take the long view rather than make a move for short-term political gain”.

On Thursday of last week, President Barack Obama spoke to a group of Democratic senators in a private meeting during a Baltimore hotel political retreat.

He asked the senators not to support a bill, drafted by Senators Robert Menendez (D-NJ) (left) and Mark Kirk (R-IL), which would add further sanctions on Iran during this time of delicate nuclear negotiations between the U.S., its allies and Iran.

One unnamed senator in the room told the New York Times that Obama said that “as a former senator himself, he understood how outside forces — like special interests and donors — can influence senators to act”.

Gas Theft and Auschwitz Snub… Russia’s Every Right to End the Insults

How many insults does the European Union expect Russia to bear without consequences? Ethnic cleansing of Russian people by the Brussels-backed Kiev regime, a refugee crisis on Russia’s borders, economic sanctions based on groundless accusations hurting Russian society – and now this – the neo-Nazi cabal that seized power in Ukraine with CIA backing last year has repeatedly been found guilty of siphoning off Russia’s natural gas exports to the EU.

Russia’s objective is simply this: to put an end to the Kiev regime’s de facto theft of Russian gas exports to Europe. How much more reasonable can that be?

No doubt the dutiful Western corporate media will crank up the «Putin as arch villain» narrative. Families freezing across Europe will be attributed to the «evil genius» of the «Soviet mastermind».

CALLED IT: Billionaire George Soros Funded the Highly Organized Ferguson Protests to the Tune of $33 Million

Soros paid for everything Ferguson unrest, from the artsy social media campaigns, to the organization on the ground, to the exploitation and propaganda in the press.

"The financial tether from Mr. Soros to the activist groups gave rise to a combustible protest movement that transformed a one-day criminal event in Missouri into a 24-hour-a-day national cause celebre," Riddell wrote.

Surprise, surprise. Never let a good crisis go to waste, right?

Just goes to show that some people use their exorbitant wealth to at least superficially pretend they are helping humanity, while others spend it openly and blatantly drumming up mass civil unrest on racial lines in an overblown police state to further bring down a nation.

The U.S. Corporate State has Become the Monarch Our Founders Despised

The colonists who wrote the founding documents of the United States detested the British Empire, and vowed to do whatever it took to gain their freedom and sovereignty from a foreign power that was depleting the wealth of the country without giving anything in return. Just as King George extracted wealth and resources from the colonies for his own gain in the 18th century, the current U.S. corporate state is extracting wealth and resources from the American people, at a much greater rate than King George could have ever hoped for. If the outrage that swept the U.S. in the last months of 2014 continues to escalate, 2015 may just be the year that a new revolutionary movement coalesces to bring this hopelessly corrupt, parasitic, and toxic system to a halt.

Off the Grid? Or Make Your Own Grid?

There are many reasons people want to get "off the grid." From unstable energy prices, to environmental concerns, to even just a search for independence, the list is long and diverse. Just as diverse are attempts to "get off the grid." But as one community in Thailand is proving, sometimes building your own grid is just as good, maybe better.

The "Pa Deng model" is a project born out of necessity. The national power grid simply didn't reach the farms and villages in this remote sub-district located south of Bangkok along the border with Myanmar in Phetchaburi province. Several failed attempts at simply handing out technology had frustrated many, and the founders of this project, including one Ministry of Energy employee, decided to take matters into their own hands...

Security forces on Thursday opened fire on the demonstrators demanding the release of detained opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman.

The forces also stormed into a mosque in Manama and arrested a number of protesters.

JE NE SUIS PAS CHARLIE

There are more doubts and questions in the Charlie Hebdo affair than there will ever be answers. In part this is because the French security forces silenced witnesses, killing three assumed perpetrators in a display which seems to say that Dirty Harry movies are now part of French training programs.

And then we have the sudden death by apparent suicide of a police commissioner in charge of the investigation just as he was writing his report alone at night, an event which received little mainline press coverage. A man in his forties in the midst of likely the biggest case of his career just decides to kill himself?

Indiana Bill Would Ban Material Support or Resources to the NSA

Activist Post

With Congress not only failing to rein in National Security Agency (NSA) spying, but actually expanding its power in a recent funding bill, many privacy activists have turned to the states to take action to block warrantless surveillance programs.

A bill filed this week in Indiana would not only support efforts to turn of NSA’s water in Utah, but would also have some practical effect in the Hoosier State...

Dying ‘good career move’ for French hate-mag

As ever, the Muslim world is responding with restraint and dignity to the latest vile conduct by Western so-called free-speech secularism.

The French so-called satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo – more accurately a hate-inciting, racist rag – has published its first post-massacre edition this week, with print sales going through the roof.

The magazine has abused the principle of free speech as a cynical cover to promote hate speech and in particular to foment prejudice against the Muslim population of France and Europe more generally.

Muslims have become the most vulnerable community in Europe and around the world for persecution by Western state and non-state bigots. Over the past week, Muslim communities and places of worship have been attacked by mobs in Germany and France amid the climate of hatred that the likes of Charlie Hebdo and its state benefactors have been responsible for.

Lawsuit says Caltech Provost and others ignored Israeli spying

Dr. Troian’s allegations describe subversion of one of America’s most important scientific institutions and provide a potential case study of how U.S. taxpayer funded scientific technology is stolen by Israel.

Following is a deeply disturbing excerpt from a civil lawsuit filed by a Caltech professor against Caltech, often named the world’s top research university. Caltech’s official name is the California Institute of Technology.

According to the lawsuit, a small coterie of Caltech professors and administrators ignored Israeli spying and theft of taxpayer-funded U.S. technology and then retaliated against the professor for reporting it.

It was a lousy way to wrap up a two year term on the security council, given the intense competition to win the seat.

George Soros funds Ferguson protests, hopes to spur civil action

There’s a solitary man at the financial center of the Ferguson protest movement. No, it’s not victim Michael Brown or Officer Darren Wilson. It’s not even the Rev. Al Sharpton, despite his ubiquitous campaign on TV and the streets.

Rather, it’s liberal billionaire George Soros, who has built a business empire that dominates across the ocean in Europe while forging a political machine powered by nonprofit foundations that impacts American politics and policy, not unlike what he did with MoveOn.org.

Willcox: “Many critics, though, of Israel’s policy would suggest that the Palestinians suffer hugely at Jewish hands as well.”

Poor Tim Willcox, now terrorized for doing a professional job at the Paris anti-terror march.

In a live TV report the BBC’s Willcox was interviewing people in the crowd and talking to a Jewish woman about her fears of persecution.

She said: “The situation is going back to the days of the 1930s in Europe.”

Willcox replied: “Many critics, though, of Israel’s policy would suggest that the Palestinians suffer hugely at Jewish hands as well.”

She countered: “We can’t do an amalgam.”

Willcox said: “You understand everything is seen from different perspectives.”

The reporter’s remarks were widely criticized by viewers, with some calling for his resignation.

What Will You Do When Government Tyranny And Terrorism Work Hand In Hand?

Brandon Smith
Activist Post

I was in the middle of working on an article covering real U.S. economic stats versus manipulated statistics when the Charlie Hebdo shootings took place. And though I knew the implications of the event would be far-reaching, I was originally undeterred from my financial subject matter. I had already covered in previous articles the inevitability of ISIS attacks on Europe and America, including the “warnings” of Saudi Arabia in August of last year that jihadists would target the EU within months and the U.S. a month later.

In September of last year, ISIS publicly urged attacks on French and U.S. citizens.

I have also published extensive analysis on the covert funding and training of ISIS militants by Saudi Arabia and Western intelligence agencies, including my article “The Time Is Ripe For A False Flag Attack On American Soil.”

Netanyahu gatecrashes Paris rally

Gatecrashing Netanyahu's latest offense. Showing up where not wanted.

French President Francois Hollande’s national security advisor, Jacques Audibert, asked him not to come, through his Israeli counterpart, Yossi Cohen. Saying Sunday’s event wanted to demonstrate solidarity with France. Avoid divisive issues. Like Israeli/Palestinian relations.

“(S)everal hours after (he said) he would not be traveling to Paris, his office issued a statement stating that he would in fact be at the march.”

“Hollande’s anger at Netanyahu was evident during (Sunday evening’s) ceremony,” said Haaretz. Held at Paris’ Grand Synagogue. “(A)ttended by hundreds of members of the local Jewish community. Hollande sat through most of the ceremony, but when Netanyahu’s turn at the podium arrived,” he walked out. A snub easily noticed.

After mocking the media superlatives about the march, the comedian declared: "As for me, I feel I am Charlie Coulibaly".

Maine Bill Would Legalize Full-Scale Industrial Hemp Farming

LD4 was introduced by State Rep. Deborah Sanderson (R-Chelsea) on Jan. 5. Patricia Aitken, Updates from Bundy Ranch – BLM Standoff – 1.10.15

As part of the BLM’s “management” of “Federal Land”, the BLM issues what is called RMP/EIS, or Resource Management Plan/Environmental Impact Studies. The BLM, as part of a government agency, is required to hold a series of public meetings to meet with the “stakeholders”, including the public, when setting any formal government policy.

In order to meet this requirement, the BLM held a series of public meetings in Clark and Nye Counties in order to, ostensibly, enable the public to comment on the recent RMP/EIS for Nevada.

What was learned was that the BLM is not allowing “public” public comment and is only taking comments via email or court reporters. Also, it was learned that the recent RMP/EIS took over 6 years to write and was put together in clandestine cooperation with the various Counties in Nevada and kept secret through a series of signed NDA’s (non-disclosure agreements).

As The Years Roll On, A Tribute To Ron Paul Supporters & The Tireless Spirit Of Liberty

The Ron Paul Bumper Sticker Is Still On My Car- "Beautiful Loser..." Tribute Video: As the video caption states, "Remember the good times.. a tribute to Dr. Paul and his supporters who love liberty." I remember very well how a lot of people were not happy with the outcome of the 2007 campaign and the way it ended. I also know a lot of people didn't support the 2012 campaign with the same spirit and hopefulness. I was not involved in the 2012 campaign at all. But that's not the point here. The spirit and hope of the people at that time, during the grassroots 2007 campaign, to me, was something much more meaningful and revealing than just about the man Ron Paul, strengths and flaws.
If you know what I mean- It was about eternal the hope of how things could be. And that is why that time will always be special. The Fight for Liberty is eternal.

The names of authorized drone users released by the Federal Aviation Administration reveals not only federal agencies such as Customs and Border Patrol and the FBI, but also features numerous local police agencies and colleges gracing the authorization list. Charlie Hebdo Massacre: Another Staged Event to Incite War and Destroy Freedom?

Many analysts are questioning the dubious timing and nature of all of these incidents, which come at just the right moment to lend credence to the US-led coalition against ISIS.It is nothing short of miraculous that just as various Western countries gear up for military strikes against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, ‘terror incidents’ hit their respective homelands right on cue to give the politicians their belated ‘casus belli’ for joining the campaign to be rid of ISIS.

French politicians and other Western leaders have been pontificating about Western ‘values’ and have selectively invoked ‘freedom of speech.’ “We live in a free and open democracy which has freedom of speech,” the West’s dishonest leaders say.

“Radical Muslims don’t believe in ‘our values,’ hence the necessity to fight them overseas” is the standard establishment talking point, trotted out time and again by the professional script readers fronting as presidents and prime ministers.

Israel Big Winners at ICC: Palestinians and US Taxpayers Too!

Turn on Your Smart Phone! Justice Calling! See You in Court!

This past week the International Criminal Court at the Hague accepted the application of Palestine to join the court. This so-called risky move by Palestinian President Abbas was both applauded by the world and sadly panned by the USA and Israel as being provocative and an obstacle to the “peace process”.Strange the USA and Israeli governments attempt to argue against a day in civil court right? Talk about being on the wrong side of humanity! Ouch!

I mean there is NO better way to behave in a civil society with our fellow man than going to court.

Going to court is the most excellent non-violent way to seek justice when injustice exists unchecked. It exposes our bad behavior to objective peers for a judgment that help us all better live together under commonly held values. Yet here we are watching the lost USA and Israel stand-alone against justice! Sad really!

The farce of Western free speech

Western free speech is nothing but a cynical charade by those in power to maintain their unlawful positions of power.

Speaking outside Elysée Palace in the aftermath of this week’s terror killings in France, former President Nicolas Sarkozy condemned the violence as “an attack on civilization.” Coiffured, sun-tanned and nattily dressed, Sarkozy’s solemn words made him appear like the embodiment of civility.

That’s a quaint turn in etiquette by a politician who is mired in allegations of sleaze and corruption, as well as war crimes.

Sarkozy wasn’t too concerned about “civilization” when he and his British allies launched the NATO bombing campaign of Libya in March 2011 in stark violation of a UN mandate. That seven-month onslaught led to the murder of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi – from whom Sarkozy had gladly received hush-hush political donations in the past, before stabbing him in the back.

The farce of Western free speech

Western free speech is nothing but a cynical charade by those in power to maintain their unlawful positions of power.

A satirical magazine championed by Western war criminals for its “free speech” to dehumanize Muslims is hailed as “heroic?” While an informative, serious news channel like Press TV is banned. Now that is farcical cartoon.

Evidently, it’s acceptable to insult Islam, according to Western select use of free speech because it suits political agendas of demonizing Muslim countries so that they can be attacked with Western warplanes or covert terrorist proxies. But it is not acceptable to satirize Zionism or Western ruling classes.

Paris attack becomes Political Football in Israel and Palestine

France has recently supported the Palestinian people and their cause at the UN Security Council, causing panic among Israeli officials in Tel Aviv who have said on several occasions that they fear they have lost the entire European continent as a result. They have also expressed worries that the European position, led by France, is turning against the Israeli occupation and in favor of the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom, independence, and statehood.

Many Israeli analysts have urged authorities in their country to work to regain European support, fearing that losing France would mean losing Europe as a whole. The response to these fears has been an unprecedented campaign of Israeli incitement against Muslim immigrants in Europe.

Europe is still capable of differentiating between a bunch of crazy terrorists, a crazy occupation, and an innocent citizen living under occupation seeking help.

NATO Trips on Own Lies with U-Turn on ‘Russian Aggressor’

With the flip of a coin, it seems, all this grave anti-Russian bombast is suddenly redundant, with the US-led NATO alliance, through its European civilian cypher Stoltenberg, apparently stretching out the hand of co-operation to Russia.

NATO’s civilian figurehead Jens Stoltenberg this week urged Russia to be a partner against terrorism. He was speaking the day after the deadly gun attack on a magazine in Paris where 12 people, including three police officers, were killed by assailants purporting to be affiliated with radical Islamists.

During a visit to Germany, the NATO general secretary called upon Moscow to be “an ally in the fight against terrorism” – adding: “We think it is important that Russia, which is our biggest neighbor in Europe, and NATO are working together on important issues like fighting terror.”
