The 1% are more likely to vote than the poor or the middle class, and it matters — a lot

Does it matter that the wealthy turnout to vote at a rate of almost 99% while those making below $10,000 vote at a rate of 49%? It sure seems like it would, but for a long time many political scientists and journalists believed it didn't. In their seminal 1980 study on the question (using data from 1972) Raymond Wolfinger and Steven Rosenstone argued that, "voters are virtually a carbon copy of the citizen population."

Despite Ebola Fears, DHS Unprepared for a Pandemic After Spending a Bundle, Warns Inspector General

Despite years of warning, preparation, and spending, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is unprepared for the sort of pandemic that has been occupying Americans' minds of late, DHS Inspector General John Roth told the House Oversight Committee today. The feds have stockpiled plenty of gear and supplies, but they don't know if it's the right gear, in the right quantities, or whether it's in usable condition, because there's no game plan to speak of.

The Document Dump that Could Kill Hillary’s Presidential Hopes

Although Mrs. Clinton is still embroiled in scandal, the overwhelming amount of information that has been released by the National Archives could strike a serious blow to her chances of becoming president.

A good deal of America doesn’t believe Hillary Clinton when she declares that she and the rest of the administration did everything they could to prevent the attacks on Benghazi from taking place.

But while her current behavior is classless and abusive, voters will hopefully see that the pattern of behavior is nothing new as scandal from years gone by will be rearing its ugly head.

That’s because the National Archives will be releasing over 10,000 pages worth of documents covering the former first lady’s time in office.

People Are Trying to Sell Cinnamon Bark as an Ebola Cure

Marion Nestle reports that several supplement manufacturers are selling vitamins that promise to prevent or treat Ebola. The claims caught the attention of the FDA, which has issued warning letters to three of the manufacturers: Natural Solutions Foundation, Young Living, and DoTERRA International LLC. The agency lists specific claims it finds worrisome; for example, on a Young Living consultant's website, "Ebola Virus can not live in the presence of cinnamon bark."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Despite the WHO authorizing the use of unproven treatments to deal with the Ebola the reality is that only treatments from the giant pharmaceutical corporations are being allowed. The FDA, still looking at Ebola from the economic point of view, is coming down hard on anyone offering treatments from which the pharmaceutical corporations cannot make the profit.

We know the FDA is blocking use of even mention of nano silver products wherever they can, despite the fact that both Nigeria and Sierra Leone have told the US Government to shove their regulations (possibly in response to the growing awareness that the US Government may have triggered the Ebola outbreak in Africa with a botched vaccine trial) and are treating Ebola patients with nano-silver and reporting positive results.
That being said, it was observed during the 1918 flu pandemic (also triggered by a botched vaccine trial) that workers at a factory that processed cinnamon for bakeries did not come down with the flu. This triggered widespread use of cinnamon, usually mixed with milk, which did in fact lower the fever and reduce symptoms of those already infected with the flu. Most naturally occurring antibiotics are broad spectrum, which means they are effective against a wide variety of infections, whereas modern pharmaceutical antibiotics are designed to be effective against specific infectious agents and are usually useless against others.

So do your own research and make your own choices.

After all, are you willing to bet your life the government, media, and pharmaceutical corporations are telling you the truth?

3 Simple Ways to Block the Damaging Effects of Mainstream Media

Bernie Suarez
Activist Post

Life is one huge psychological journey. This is what I believe. You are what you think you are. You control your journey and how much you actually enjoy it. You control how happy (or for that matter how sad and miserable) you will be because you control your own thoughts. Yes, you make decisions everyday on what thoughts you will allow into you mind. You also make decisions about how you will approach things in your life including new information. The choice of personal attitude toward things, preconceived notions, and good or bad assumptions about the world around us is all within our reach and control. For this reason I want to discuss a bit about how your mind should operate when you come across mainstream media news...

House oversight panel examines response to Ebola crisis

The chairman of a House oversight panel on Friday slammed President Obama's choice of Ron Klain as his new Ebola czar.

"Sadly, in my opinion, (Klain's appointment) shows the administration has on one hand recognized the missteps (in handling the Ebola crisis), but on the other hand is not prepared to put a known leader or a medical professional in place," said Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is pure political grandstanding ahead of the elections. Congress is trying to act like they are in control of this situation, and they are not. The virus is.

Congress, like the Obama administration and CDC, are playing catch-up.

As for an Ebola czar, Obama picked a spin-doctor to keep the public calm, keep them going to the shopping malls, keep them focused on the wars, and make sure they showed up to the voting booths next month. Personally I think Dr. Ron Paul would have been the ideal choice, being both a medical doctor himself and knowing how DC works. Klain didn't even show up for today's hearing!

Western Sponsors Liable for Kiev Basket Case

Washington is even more circumspect than Brussels on the matter of providing hard cash to Kiev, as opposed to lots of hot-air promises of nebulous aid. One gets the feeling that the Western sponsors know full well that this regime is a basket case. Nevertheless, these Western sponsors are liable for the basket case that they created.

Since Washington and Brussels shunted the geopolitical tracks in the first place to create the financial train wreck that is now manifestly the Ukraine, you would think that there might be a sense of obligation on Western governments to salvage the mess. Not a bit of it, it seems.

Furthermore, the train wreck is careening dangerously into the Russian economy. But still, the Western governments adopt an attitude that Moscow must pay for the damages.

Corruption at the Heart of Mexico's Drug War - True not only in Mexico, but in the United States as well.

A Mexican mayor and his wife masterminded the recent disappearance of 43 student teachers and Mexico's attorney general has issued arrest warrants for them.

The students went missing on 26 September from Iguala in the south-western state of Guerrero after they clashed with police. The incident sent shockwaves across Mexico and undermined President Enrique Peña Nieto’s claims that Mexico is getting safer under his watch.

New York Fed’s Conference Evokes Thoughts of Violence Against Wall Street

“Since 2008, fines imposed on the nation’s largest banks have far exceeded $100 billion. The pattern of bad behavior did not end with the financial crisis, but continued despite the considerable public sector intervention that was necessary to stabilize the financial system. As a consequence, the financial industry has largely lost the public trust. To illustrate, a 2012 Harris poll found that 42 percent of people responded either ‘somewhat’ or ‘a lot’ to the statement that Wall Street ‘harms the country’; furthermore, 68 percent disagreed with the statement: ‘In general, people on Wall Street are as honest and moral as other people.’ ”

Further cementing that public distrust, the media was barred from attending Monday’s conference at the New York Fed. Press members who nonetheless reported on the event evoked a recurring theme of violent acts to deal with incorrigible actors.

Top Regulator Says Bank CEOs Meant Well -- This Evidence Says Otherwise

The head of one of Wall Street's most important regulatory agencies argued recently that Big Bank CEOs never intended to break the law or engage in foreclosure fraud. Instead, Thomas Curry of the Office of Comptroller of the Currency tells us they weren't cautious enough.

Internal documents obtained from a bank-backed venture several years ago seem to directly contradict this claim. These documents, which include training materials, PowerPoint presentations, and videos, suggest that the industry made a conscious attempt to bypass local jurisdictions and automate processes -- in what can best be described as a fraud-friendly way.

Fed Up With DOJ Misconduct, Fraud and False Evidence – Federal Judge Takes Nuclear Option

In perhaps the most stunning documentation yet of abuses by Eric Holder’s Justice Department, two former Assistant United States Attorneys spoke to defense attorneys and revealed appalling deceit and corruption of justice. The forgotten coup - How America and Britain crushed the government of their 'ally', Australia

Across the political and media elite in Australia, a silence has descended on the memory of the great, reforming prime minister Gough Whitlam, who has died. His achievements are recognized, if grudgingly, his mistakes noted in false sorrow.

But a critical reason for his extraordinary political demise will, they hope, be buried with him.

Australia briefly became an independent state during the Whitlam years, 1972-75. An American commentator wrote that no country had “reversed its posture in international affairs so totally without going through a domestic revolution”.

Whitlam ended his nation’s colonial servility. He abolished Royal patronage, moved Australia towards the Non-Aligned Movement, supported “zones of peace” and opposed nuclear weapons testing.

ADL has recently been meeting in California with a British group called the Inter-Parliamentary Coalition for Combating Anti-Semitism, which included the Community Security Trust (CST). CST is controversial in the UK, partly because many British Jews believe they are adequately protected by the police. It has also been criticized because its Director is the highest paid head of any Jewish organization in the country and its finances are alleged to be non-transparent.

An article entitled “Web giants unite to fight online hate” described the purpose of the California meeting. It reported that a “game changing” agreement was reached with Twitter, Facebook, Google and Microsoft to take steps to stop “the proliferation of racist and abusive comments” and to “force racism and hatred from the web.”

American refugee in Russia (not Snowden) persecuted by US gestapo

The banksters and the American gestapo they own can’t touch Snowden – for now. He’s too famous. And besides, he’s only speaking out against the police state, not the 9/11 false flag operation that launched it.

It appears that US/bankster agents in Russia have launched a campaign to punish Robles for daring to draw attention to the 9/11 coup d’état, Craft International’s Boston Marathon false-flag bombing, Operation Gladio, and similar third-rail stories. The police state’s only vulnerability is 9/11 truth – the achilles heel of the neocon regime that rules America. So Snowden is tolerated, while Robles is being hammered into the ground by US agents in the Russian media. Beware the Corporate Takeover of Seed under Many Guises

Monopolisation of seed is not just a European issue but a global one, with international agritech giants buying out independent companies and leaving farmers with little choice but to purchase hybrid or genetically modified seeds in countries like the US. Monsanto bought 200 US independent seed companies over 10 years, with the corporation now estimated to own 23 % of the proprietary seed market (see [3] GM Crops Destroyed by Drought in US while non-GM varieties Flourish, SiS 56). A similar drive for seed monopoly is taking place in the African continent, with SeedCo, one of Africa’s largest home-grown seed companies being bought out by transnational corporations Limagrain, the biggest seed and plant breeding company in the EU. Limagrain is investing US$60 million for a 28 % stake in SeedCo [4]. SeedCo has sold 49 % of its shares in Africa’s only cottonseed company Quton to the Indian company Mayco, a Monsanto subsidiary. Syngenta in 2013 took over Zambia’s MRI seed, which is said to have the most biodiverse collection of maize seed varieties in Africa. South Africa’s largest seed company Pannar Seed was recently taken over by Pioneer Hi-Bred, a subsidiary of DuPont. These acquisitions of seed companies by a handful of corporate giants poses great threats not only to seed biodiversity, but also food sovereignty and people’s access to fresh foods, giving GM companies the chance to spread their patented seeds across the world.

Monsanto, Syngenta and DuPont already own 53% of the global commercial seed market and the following legislative proposals and treaties are set to increase their monopoly [5].

In those cases it's quite obvious when the emergency is over. But what if an emergency is declared for something that hasn't happened yet? How will we know when it's over?

Both Pennsylvania and Connecticut governors recently declared a State of Emergency, not because a disaster is taking place at this moment, but because bad things may happen in the future. This is an incredible development that citizens should be concerned about...

Hollow Justice and Courts of Order in an Age of Government-Sanctioned Tyranny

With every ruling handed down, it becomes more apparent that we live in an age of hollow justice, with government courts, largely lacking in vision and scope, rendering narrow rulings focused on the letter of the law. This is true at all levels of the judiciary, but especially so in the highest court of the land, the U.S. Supreme Court, which is seemingly more concerned with establishing order and protecting government agents than with upholding the rights enshrined in the Constitution.

Club Orlov: How to start a war and lose an empire

It's a new, mixed-mode sort of war. It's not a total war to the death, although the US is being rather incautious by the old Cold War standards in avoiding a nuclear confrontation. It's an information war—based on lies and unjust vilification; it's a financial and economic war—using sanctions; it's a political war—featuring violent overthrow of elected governments and support for hostile regimes on Russia's borders; and it's a military war—using ineffectual but nevertheless insulting moves such as stationing a handful of US troops in Estonia. And the goals of this war are clear: it is to undermine Russia economically, destroy it politically, dismember it geographically, and turn it into a pliant vassal state that furnishes natural resources to the West practically free of charge (with a few hand-outs to a handful of Russian oligarchs and criminal thugs who play ball). But it doesn't look like any of that is going to happen because, you see, a lot of Russians actually get all that, and will choose leaders who will not win any popularity contests in the West but who will lead them to victory.

Paul Craig Roberts: The Entry of Ebola into the US Has Hallmarks of a Planned Happening

More information is available that suggests the the government had advance information that ebola was coming to the US and that the government expects a much larger outbreak of the disease in the US than it admits.

Keep in mind that Washington is evil and has been killing people in seven countries for thirteen years based entirely on lies. Keep in mind that Washington has a long list of countries that it has destabilized. Most recently Washington overthrew the elected government in Ukraine and is currently working on the remaining independent governments in the Middle East, Russia, and China as Tony Cartalucci’s article documents: http://www.globalresearch.ca/turmoil-in-hong-kong-terrorism-in-xinjian... AE911Truth.org announces: "NIST Lawsuit Underway"

As we told you already, NIST releases Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests very reluctantly — and only when sued. But they have been forced to concede EVERY TIME. So prepare for a flood of great information after we file. Thanks to you, we should be able to file next week!

The Expected Documents

We will obtain the WTC records that were gathered by FEMA during its 2001-2002 WTC investigation — text and images that go above and beyond the selective records FEMA chose to put in its May 2002 report. The complete record includes all evidence gathered by the various contractors that FEMA employed as part of its investigation. David Cole, the AE911Truth instigator of the FOIA request, estimates that the total exceeds 490,000 documents, videos, photographs, and any other format that FEMA or its contractors used.

£20 Billion British Money Laundering Scam Goes Through Eastern Europe, Ends in HSBC, RBS, UBS and Citibank

This story should raise some important questions about organised crime’s influence on our judicial and economic systems – in times of crisis.

A recent money laundering investigation by a British Newspaper, The Independent (see story below), reveals a complex accounting and legal shell game of British-based front companies, laundering their illicit proceeds through phony lawsuits, followed by massive wire transfers to Latvian and other banks. Money transfers are effectively rubber stamped by corrupt Moldovan judges.

Are these white collar crimes exclusive eastern European gangsters, or do well-known British financial brands also do the same?

October 22: National Protest Against The Police State

Activist Post

Every single day carries a new story (or stories) about egregious assaults by police against the citizens who have entrusted (and paid) them to serve and protect. Even the Bureau of Justice Statistics had to conclude recently that police brutality is grossly unchecked across the nation by the political system. Such unchecked power is even more frightening when we see police becoming as militarized as any Third World dictatorship. And of course, to back up this lawlessness is a ready-and-waiting prison-industrial complex that leads the world in caging its own citizens.

Shooting pets, tasering kids, no-knock SWAT raids, raping, pillaging ... you name it - and it will only get worse until people have the courage to take action in huge numbers and put a stop to this madness that has been tolerated for way too long.

Mainstream 'Journalist' Reveals Agenda; Calls For Rape, Destruction of Syria

Brandon Turbeville
Activist Post

It is well-known among informed observers and virtually anyone that has even the smallest shred of discernment that mainstream media outlets are nothing more than the mouthpieces for their respective governments, banks, and corporations. These outlets act as a clear propaganda machine drumming up the beat for war by the presentation of clever narratives, subtle falsehoods, and outright lies.

Such deceit relies on the trust of a beguiled public who simply cannot fathom the idea that they are being lied to on such a mass scale. Indeed, the secrecy of the true agenda is what gives propaganda its power. So it is very rare that mainstream outlets, their “journalists,” or other major figures openly state the agenda that is behind their reporting and gives purpose to their every word.

D.C. Is America’s Most Expensive City, Because It’s Where the Pig Trough Is Located

People Will Pay a LOT of Money to Live Near the Money Spigot

We noted in 2011 that Washington, D.C. is like a separate country. Specifically, the sausage-makers engaging in pork-barrel politics and the lobbyists feeding at the trough are doing great … while the rest of the country stagnates.

No wonder D.C. is the most expensive city in America.

Soros and the CIA Now Banking on Neves to Defeat Rousseff

President Rousseff’s policies have created powerful enemies within the walls of the CIA in Langley, Virginia and among the board rooms of Wall Street and the West’s most powerful corporations. She succeeded in proving the polls and pundits wrong on October 5 but October 26 remains yet another hurdle.

With Brazilian voters wise to Silva’s puppet strings to Soros and other global bankers, she managed to only come in third on October 5. Silva subsequently endorsed Neves, Soros’s second selection to take over the reins of presidential power in Brazil from Rousseff.

Neves’s chief economic adviser and the man who would become Finance Minister in a Neves presidency is Arminio Fraga Neto. A former close friend and associate of Soros and his Quantum hedge fund.

We Spent $7.6 Billion To Crush The Afghan Opium Trade—And It's Doing Better Than Ever

Opium poppy cultivation in Afghanistan is at record levels, according to a new report from the Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction. That's despite more than a decade of American efforts to knock out the Afghan drug trade—at a cost of roughly $7.6 billion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In Bo Gritz "A Nation Betrayed", it was revealed that money sent to Vietnam to "fight drugs" was actually spent building a modern highway up to Kuhn Sa's opium plantation to allow large trucks to transport the opium to the airports where CIA's Air America then carried it on the first leg of its journey to the US. I suspect that what that $7 billion was actually spent on is not what you were told it was.

HHS-Funded Study: Obamacare Will Suffer ‘Death Spiral’ If Subsidies Fail

The Obama administration has funded a new study by top consulting firm RAND Health that startlingly finds that if taxpayer subsidies are eliminated, Obamacare exchanges will fall into a “death spiral.”

The study comes in the wake of a number of lawsuits which are challenging the Obama administration’s implementation of Obamacare subsidies. Three lawsuits have made it to U.S. Circuit Courts, just one step from the Supreme Court, arguing that the text of the Affordable Care Act allows premium subsidies for state-run exchanges only. Stop changing laws behind closed doors, say experts

Constitutional experts have warned David Cameron to halt the government's "behind closed doors" attempts to change the way the United Kingdom is governed.

In a letter sent to William Hague, who heads up the Devolution committee set up by the Prime Minister following the Scottish referendum last month, academics, the heads of think-tanks and leading political organisations warn that "it is essential that people are given a say in the shape of our political system". This follows warnings from largely Labour politicians that "English votes for English laws" reforms that are backed by Mr Cameron would turn Scottish MPs into "second class" representatives in the House of Commons.
