Yemen separatists leave UN-sponsored talks

The Southern Movement announced that it is pulling out of the talks overnight on Friday. The group wants the breakaway of the areas of the formerly independent south.

The movement member, Yassin Mekkawi, said the separatists have suspended their “participation in the (UN-backed) national dialogue until it is moved out of the country.”

He further noted that negotiators have been facing rising “political and psychological pressure.”

The move comes as an unnamed official in the southern province of Lahij said on Saturday that fighting broke out between the secessionists and Yemeni troops after the separatists opened fire on an army convoy, leaving nine soldiers injured.

General Wesley Clark admits “allies” created ISIS to fight Hezbollah

General Wesley K. Clark, former presidential candidate and NATO supreme allied commander during the NATO war against Yugoslavia, stated in a recent interview on CNN that “ISIS got started through funding from our friends and allies.” He did not specify exactly which US allies he was talking about. It has been widely reported that much of the funding had come from the oil-rich elites of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf monarchies, which of course are de facto allies of Israel. Clark did say that ISIS “is part of a strategy to destroy Hezbollah with an army of extremists.” Hezbollah was formed to drive Israel out of Lebanon, and Israel is the only country with an interest in destroying it.

Netanyahu Invites Arab Diplomats to His Big Speech—and Gets Rejected

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is refusing to meet with a group of ardently pro-Israel Democratic senators next week in Washington, but he very much wants to see the faces of Arab ambassadors in the audience during his controversial address to Congress.

Netanyahu's ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, has tried, without success, to recruit Arab ambassadors to come to his boss’s speech, e-mailing them personally to plead for their attendance. Dermer, who is not a trained diplomat, is the man who helped engineer the invitation to Netanyahu to speak to Congress in opposition to President Obama’s (so far theoretical) Iran nuclear deal.

Turkey's Invasion Of Syria Shows Turkish Connection To ISIS; NATO Agenda

Turkey has now officially proven that Israel and the United States are not the only nations that can brazenly violate the sovereignty of other countries, Syria in particular, without fear of reprisal due to NATO support and a blatant culture of aggression. The Turkish invasion of Syrian soil on February 22 under the guise of protecting and securing the tomb of Sulayman Shah is case in point.

The National-Security State’s ISIS Racket

Never mind that the national-security apparatus produces the very threats it then uses to scare people with. After all, did anyone hear of ISIS before the U.S. invaded and occupied Iraq, a country that had never attacked the United States or even threatened to do so?

No. That’s because there was no ISIS before the apparatus invaded and occupied Iraq. It was the invasion and occupation, along with other interventions by the apparatus, such as in Syria and Libya, that has produced ISIS, the new, scary enemy of the day.

But of course, no statist wants to hear that. The national-security state is akin to a god, one that is keeping them safe from all those scary creatures thousands of miles away from American shores, creatures that are brought into existence by the very policies of the apparatus itself.

Webmaster's Commentary:

ISIS is a tool of American military training and funding; a "terrorist organisation du jure" which allegedly beheads people, and tortures puppies.

And if you have a hard time wrapping your head around that, please look at the following:

As reported at beforeitsnews.com:

In fact, there is a direct link between those terrorists and the U.S. foreign policy. Last year, Spiegel declared that Americans were training the Syrian rebels in Jordan to oust Assad.[8] But the evidence went back to 2012: “Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials. “The officials said dozens of ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.”

This was reported at globalresearch.ca:

The Washington Post would report that the United States military accidentally dropped by air at least one pallet of weapons and supplies that ended up in the hands of the so-called “Islamic State” or ISIS. While a combination of factors about this particular story appear suspicious, including SITE Intelligence Group’s involvement in quickly disseminating an alleged video of ISIS terrorists rooting through the supplies, one fact remains. While the US claims it has “accidentally” allowed weapons to fall into the hands of ISIS terrorists, in reality, the US has been arming, funding, and aiding ISIS and its terrorist affiliates either directly or through Saudi, Qatari, Jordanian, or Turkish proxies since at least 2011.

And this, reporteed at thenewamerican.com:

Some astute U.S. lawmakers who previously warned that Obama’s strategy of arming al-Qaeda and other jihadists in Syria would backfire did speak out about the insanity. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.), for example, outlined those concerns on Fox News after the president’s speech about supposedly degrading and destroying ISIS. “The one thing we need to remember about all of this,” he said, “we need to remember how we got here. The reason we got here is we took it upon ourselves to topple secular dictators who were the enemy of radical Islam.” But what about all those air strikes Obama is supposedly conducting against ISIS? Well, according to the Assad regime, which is locked in mortal combat with ISIS and other Western-backed Islamists, Obama’s unconstitutional military adventures, perhaps not surprisingly, have done nothing to weaken it. “All the indications say that (Islamic State) today, after two months of coalition air strikes, is not weaker,” explained Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem in a recent TV interview cited by Reuters. The most powerful military in the world could not even “weaken” a rag-tag group of terrorists after two months of air strikes and countless millions worth of military support to “moderates”? If that is the case — which sounds rather implausible — perhaps Americans deserve a refund for the hundreds of billions of dollars spent each year on the military. More likely, though, is that, as top Obama officials have explained openly, the real purpose of the “anti-ISIS” war is to remove Assad — at least initially — on the road toward “world order.” “I recognize the contradiction in a contradictory land and a contradictory circumstance,” Obama claimed in September 2014, downplaying the insanity and deception as if it were all some confusing misunderstanding. The week before those comments, though, his own ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, admitted in a separate TV interview that deposing Assad was among the real goals of the administration’s “contradictory” Syria policy. “The training also will service these troops [Obama’s so-called ‘moderate rebels’] in the same struggle that they’ve been in since the beginning of this conflict against the Assad regime,” Power said, contradicting the key selling point for arming “moderate” jihadists — to fight ISIS.

So folks, the very force the US government is decrying and condemning verbally is that same force that the the US government is supporting, covertly, monetarily, and with US weapons.

Deal with it; the words "credibility" and "Federal Government" can no longer be used in the same sentence.

Israeli opposition leader urges Netanyahu to drop US Congress speech plan

Israel’s opposition leader, Isaac Herzog, has called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cancel his planned speech to the US Congress early next month, warning that the move would do “strategic damage” to the relations between Tel Aviv and Washington.

On Thursday, Herzog, who leads Israel’s Labor party, criticized Netanyahu for irreparably damaging Israel’s close ties with the United States with his decision to speak in the US Congress reportedly against diplomatic efforts on the nuclear dispute with Iran.

“I call on Netanyahu again: Stop. Don’t go. You will cause strategic damage to Israel’s standing and to the relationship with the United States,” Herzog said.

Israel attorney general orders probe on Netanyahu

The Israeli attorney general has ordered a preliminary investigation into alleged financial misconduct at the private home and state residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The evidence collected from Netanyahu’s official Jerusalem al-Quds residence and his private home, and the testimonies of a former employee at the residence contributed to the decision, the office of Yehuda Weinstein said in a statement on Thursday.

The attorney general’s office “believes that the variety of affairs justifies a probe, at the end of which it will be decided whether to launch a criminal investigation,” the statement added.

The attorney’s office reviewed “a number of cases in which evidence has been collected and raised suspicions that actions constituting criminal offenses took place,” according to the statement.

Paul Craig Roberts: The Threat Posed to International Relations By The Neoconservative Ideology of American Hegemony

While the neoconservatives were preoccupied for a decade with their wars in the Middle East, creating a US Africa Command, organizing color revolutions, exiting disarmament treaties, surrounding Russia with military bases, and “pivoting to Asia” to surround China with new air and naval bases, Vladimir Putin led Russia back to economic and military competence and successfully asserted an independent Russian foreign policy.

When Russian diplomacy blocked Washington’s planned invasion of Syria and Washington’s planned bombing of Iran, the neoconservatives realized that they had failed the “first objective” of the Wolfowitz Doctrine and had allowed “the re-emergence of a new rival . . . on the territory of the former Soviet Union” with the power to block unilateral action by Washington.

The attack on Russia began.

Gilad Atzmon: Unlike most British Jews, The Vast Majority Of UK Muslims Are Loyal To The Kingdom

A month ago we learned that “a quarter of Jews in Britain have considered leaving the country in the last two years and well over half feel they have no long term future in Europe”*

Interestingly enough, yesterday the BBC published a poll that measured British Muslims’ attitude towards Britain. Unlike the majority of Jews who expressed their will to leave Europe, 95% of the Muslims here are “loyal to Britain.”

In spite of Britain’s waging countless wars against Muslim countries for decades, despite Britain’s blind support for Israel and despite the ongoing discrimination against Muslims in Britain, nineteen out of twenty Muslims remain loyal to this Kingdom. Contrast this with at least half the of Jews who, although they enjoy prominence in this country and whose Israeli Lobby has enjoyed remarkable success, appear willing to leave this country behind.

Top Secret? Jordan Furious After Pentagon Reveals Anti-ISIL Training Site

The Pentagon has altered records to try and cover up its disclosure that one of its training camps to battle Islamic State militants is located in Jordan – information Jordan had requested be kept private.

The slip happened last week as a Pentagon officer briefed reporters on condition of anonymity. In an effort to hide the screw-up, the Pentagon has since redacted any mention of the training camp from its public records, the Washington Times reported.

The Pentagon typically only discusses aid partner nations provide to its operations against Islamic State militants only after those partner nations have publicly spoken about those contributions.

Top 10 Bogus ISIS Stories By Adam Johnson

“If we really saw war, what war does to young minds and bodies, it would be impossible to embrace the myth of war. If we had to stand over the mangled corpses of schoolchildren killed in Afghanistan and listen to the wails of their parents, we would not be able to repeat clichés we use to justify war. This is why war is carefully sanitized. This is why we are given war's perverse and dark thrill but are spared from seeing war's consequences. The mythic visions of war keep it heroic and entertaining…

The wounded, the crippled, and the dead are, in this great charade, swiftly carted offstage. They are war's refuse. We do not see them. We do not hear them. They are doomed, like wandering spirits, to float around the edges of our consciousness, ignored, even reviled. The message they tell is too painful for us to hear. We prefer to celebrate ourselves and our nation by imbibing the myths of glory, honor, patriotism, and heroism, words that in combat become empty and meaningless.”

In other words, to maintain liberal values and promote liberalism worldwide, the liberal states have to behave illiberally. They have to attack other countries that they deem threatening. They have to be provocative toward any country that doesn’t meet their standards of liberality.

At War With Those “Who Have Perverted Islam”

The latest ISIL political ally to surface is Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York City, and an unsuccessful candidate for the Republican nomination for president in 2008.

During a speech at this week’s White House conference on countering violent extremism,President Obama described the enemy that calls itself ISIL:

“We are not at war with Islam; we are at war with people who have perverted Islam.”

That statement is sensible and it is clear. It represents the President’s careful separation of ISIL (initially self-designated as the Islamic State in the Levant) from the world’s Muslim population.

ISIL is not remotely representative of Islam. It steals its language the way extremists out of Jewish and Christian backgrounds pervert those religious communities.

How, to contain and defeat perverted and violent Islamic fundamentalism

American foreign policy and authoritarian Muslim regimes, cause/provoke Muslim hurt, humiliation, anger and the despair of no hope.

If perverted and violent Islamic fundamentalism (PVIF) in all of its manifestations is to be contained and defeated there’s one thing above all others that must happen – Western leaders, starting with President Obama, must open their minds to the fact that consequences have causes and then address the causes.

There are two main and related causes of PVIF (Perverted and violent Islamic fundamentalism):

(1) American-led Western foreign policy for the Arab and wider Muslim world including its double standard as demonstrated by refusal to call and hold Israel to account for its defiance of international law and rejection of the Palestinian claim for justice.

(2) The corruption, authoritarianism and repression of most if not all Arab and other Muslim regimes. In most cases they are regimes supported/endorsed by American-led Western foreign policy.

Putin Should Just Take East Ukraine

Such a decisive move by Russia would definitely put an end to the Western-backed war of aggression on the pro-Russian people of east Ukraine.

Moscow has so far shown more than enough forbearance towards Washington and its puppet regime in Kiev. And yet this week, Washington’s allies in the European Union have seen it fit to impose fresh sanctions on Russia. Putin’s diplomatic efforts to end the conflict on a mutual basis between the Kiev regime and the separatist ethnic Russian people have been twisted and upended at every turn by Washington.

State Dept. Prepares to Give Armed Drones to Allies

Government officials in the United States say the White House is readying to announce a policy change that will let armed unmanned aerial vehicles, or weaponized drones, legally be given to allied nations.

The Washington Post was first to report on Tuesday this week that the Obama administration is preparing to reveal details about an arrangement that will for the first time let American allies receive the controversial counterterrorism tool that has become a hallmark of recent US-led wars.

“The United States is committed to stringent standards for the sale, transfer and subsequent use of US-origin military UAS,” or unmanned aerial systems, the State Department said in a statement on Tuesday.

Syria: Special Forces From Turkey Attack The Syrian Arab Army

Yesterday the Syrian Arab Army tried to relief the insurgent-besieged villages of Nubl and al-Zahraa and to close the corridor between the city of Aleppo and the Turkish border to the north. The troops captured three villages and nearly closed the gap in their ring around Aleppo but were pushed out again in an onslaught by hundreds of enemies coming from the direction of the Turkish border.

NATO/UN Desperately Seek Ceasefire To Save ISIS After Syrian Army Encircles Aleppo

In a military victory that may very well rival the liberation of Qusayr in terms of significance, on February 17, the SAA officially encircled the entirety of Syria’s largest city Aleppo. In so doing, the SAA was also able to seal off the road leading into the city from the North which has been used as a supply route for the terrorist death squads receiving reinforcements and supplies from Turkey since the beginning of the crisis...

Obama Destroyed Libya

Bush committed this error in Iraq. Obama made it in Libya. And now he's doing it again in Syria. What he did to Libya is as bad as what Bush did to Iraq and Afghanistan. He doesn’t deserve a historical pass.

When Obama took office in 2009, Libya was under the clutches of longtime dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. But things were looking up.

Bush and Gaddafi had cut a deal to lift Western trade sanctions in exchange for Libya acknowledging and paying restitution for its role in the bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. In a rare triumph for Bush, Libya also agreed to give up its nuclear weapons research program. Libyan and Western analysts anticipated that Gaddafi’s dictatorship would be forced to accept liberal reforms, perhaps even free elections and rival political parties, in order to attract Western investment.

American current bi-party system is bankrupt

It was Thucydides who warned us about slick tongued orators when he criticized the weakness and dangers of Democracy!

Obama and his administration have done, or achieved, none of the things which they claim to have done in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, Palestine or at home in the U.S.

Many of the problems may have been inherited from the policies and tactics of the bent, crooked, broken and hijacked eight-year Administration of George Bush, but nothing has really changed. In fact, his pursuit of these very same methods and tactics as “resolutions” to these problems seems to have simply added more fuel to these disastrous fires.

Watch President Obama assist U.S. media propagandists on Russia, President Putin and Ukraine here:

snip: For Judaism especially in America had been in the forefront of the human rights struggle, whether union drives or civil rights marches, whether socialism or progressive New Deal Democrats, opposition to whatever degraded the living standards and free human personality of American working people, a record of radical enlightenment that is becoming increasingly thwarted, controverted, disowned, and negated. Bibi's Bizarre Call for Jews to Flee Europe for Israel Netanyahu: the King of Chutzpah by BARRY LANDO

snip: But all that is inflamed by the actions of Israel itself. The direct relationship between those acts and the increase in anti-Semitic attacks can’t be denied.

Indeed, the Israeli government has increasingly claimed that the mounting criticisms of Israel for having committed war crimes or human rights violations, all such claims—even if they are coming from Jews as well– are nothing but the product of anti-Semitism.

An outspoken Israeli writer, Uri Avnery, for decades one of the most acerbic critics of his country’s policies, has pointed out the irony: Israel, created as a haven from anti-Semitism for Jews around the world, has instead, by its actions, become the greatest promoter of anti-Semitism around the world.

Putin Wins a Second Match

Has Russia’s Vladimir Putin pulled Barack Obama’s chestnuts out of the fire for a second time?

Will the shaky cease-fire in Ukraine that began this weekend hold up and end a conflict that was threatening a nuclear war between the United States and Russia?

The answer to the first question is yes. Remember back in 2013 when the Obama White House was threatening to attack Syria over allegations it was using poison gas?As it turned out, the UN found it was the US-backed Syrian rebels who were likely to have used chemical weapons rather than the Damascus regime.

Noble Peace Prize Winner Obama and his lady strategists almost got the US into a war in Syria that could have led to direct clashes with Russia, which was backing the Damascus government.Along came that unlikely man of peace, Russia’s Vlad Putin, who charted a diplomatic course out of the Syria mess for the bumbling White House which had talked itself into corner.

Hailed as a Model for Successful Intervention, Libya Proves to be the Exact Opposite

Once Gadaffi was brutally killed by a mob, advocates of intervention threw a giddy party for themselves, celebrating their own rightness and righteousness and declaring Libya a model for future western interventions. Upon Gadaffi’s fleeing, The New York Times, which editorially supported the war, published a front-page article declaring: “U.S. Tactics in Libya May be a Model for Other Efforts.”

Leading war advocates such as Anne-Marie Slaughter and Nick Kristof celebrated themselves as humanitarian visionaries and chided war opponents for being blinkered and overly cynical about the virtues of American force. British and French leaders descended upon Libya to strut around like some sort of conquering heroes, while American and Canadian officials held pompous war victory ceremonies. Hillary Clinton was downright sociopathic, gloating and cackling in an interview when told about Gadaffi’s death by mob: “We came, we saw, he died.”

Unlimited War! ISIS Psyop Theater Comes to Full Fruition

Bernie Suarez
Activist Post

The CIA and the U.S. Military Industrial Complex have now invested over 6 months of ISIS branding, promotion, and public relations. It was revealed by early January of 2015 that the U.S. had already dumped over one billion dollars to fight ISIS. All supposedly invested in failed air strikes and un-televised secret battles against ISIS where the U.S. ends up attacking Syrian targets instead.

The ISIS psyop has been worked on so hard by the architects of the plan that now we are seeing the final desired political goals of the entire operation - an operation which has become more of a global theater. The ISIS psyop theater is now coming to fruition and the globalists are speaking loud and clear about what they want, which is really an admission to why they concocted the ISIS psyop to begin with...

Yemen: The World's Newest Failed State

In Yemen there is no longer a government or a president. On January 22, after the Houthi, (Zaydi Shiites) militiamen in the north besieged the presidential palace in Sana’a, both interim President (since 2012) Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah (of a caretaker government which secured parliamentary confidence in December 2014), resigned. Washington has closed its embassy and many other countries, Western and non, have done likewise. Four southern governors, including those from Aden and Abyan, which has been the epicenter of the US drone campaign against al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), have refused to resign, in solidarity with President Hadi. Houthi militias dispersed an impromptu pro-government demonstration days after the takeover; the occasion served as an opportunity for the Houthis to wield some power as they brandished weapons in the streets and made numerous arrests.

US ‘eyeing new air base’ in Iraq amid talk of major offensive on ISIS

Washington is working to install a new air base in Iraq’s Kurdistan to be used in a campaign against Islamic State (ISIS), media report. This comes as the White House’s special envoy on ISIS speaks of a ground operation in Iraq against the militants.

This time an American stronghold in the region will be deployed in Erbil, the capital of semi-autonomous Kurdistan region in northern Iraq that is expected to be used as a logistics hub to supply primarily munitions for warplanes of the US-led coalition against ISIS militants.

“The base is close to Erbil, the capital of the regional government…The warplanes will do surveillance, but the warplanes which will bomb ISIL targets will not take off from here,” Helgurt Hikmet, spokesperson for the Ministry of Peshmerga (Kurdish self-defense forces) said, as cited by Anadolu Agency.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No matter what Obama has promised, we will see troops on the ground in Iraq, and most probably, Syria; the "good reason" will be to "conquer Isis" the real reasons will be to re-control Iraq, and create regime change in Syria.

We already have 4,000 additional ground troops about to begin staging in Kuwait.

As Congress mulls America's war with the Islamic State terror group, more than 4,000 Fort Carson soldiers prepared Thursday to leave for Kuwait, where they will take over as America's largest ground force in the troubled region. The 3rd Brigade Combat Team bid farewell to the post in a ceremony and soon will serve as U.S. Central Command's Reserve force in the Middle East - the first soldiers into battle if a major combat force is used to battle Islamic State fighters.

You cannot bring people 'in country' and expect them to "wait" before deployment. They must be utilized, and quickly.

And BTW, does anyone, except me, remember the cleric Muqtata Al Sadr, who demanded that the US honor their SOFA with the Iraqi government, or our troops would come under attack?!?

This guy is still alive and kicking.

I shudder to think about what he and the Mahdi Army will be willing to do, if he sees that US troops are back, on the ground, in Iraq.

UN Security Council Demands Houthi Rebels Relinquish Control Of Yemen Government, End Violence

The United Nations Security Council on Sunday unanimously adopted a resolution demanding that Shiite rebels immediately relinquish control of Yemen's government in a crisis that has pushed the Arab world's poorest country near collapse.

Arab countries have been pressing for the use of military force against what they call the rebel group's "illegitimate seizure of power." But the resolution approved by all 15 council members at an emergency meeting does not act under Chapter 7 of the U.N. Charter, which would allow it to be militarily enforced.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A small memo to the UN Security Council: JUST HOW, PLEASE, DO YOU INTEND TO ENFORCE YOUR DEMAND?!?

Are these people going to give up graciously and apologize for having taken over the government?!?!?

Chapel Hill Shooting and the ‘New Atheist’ Neocons

Beware the neocon ‘New Atheists.’ A terrible crime has happened in North Carolina – three young Muslim university students were shot dead ‘execution-style’ in their Chapel Hill apartment on Tuesday.

Police have arrested and charged 46-year-old Craig Stephen Hicks with the brutal murders, a man known for posting anti-religion comments online and whose Facebook page is riddled with pictures of and quotes from his ‘New Atheist’ heroes Richard Dawkins and Bill Maher.

The cops are conveniently saying that the Muslim students were not targeted because of their faith, but rather a “parking dispute.” How bizarre.

“It was execution style, a bullet in every head,” the father of the two deceased girls told the media, insisting that “this was not a dispute over a parking space, this was a hate crime.”

Why we need the International Criminal Court

Lawrence Davidson explains why the implications of the International Criminal Court’s preliminary investigation of Israeli war crimes during the 2014 invasion of the Gaza Strip go far beyond the Middle East.

Why We Need the International Criminal Court

Since law is one of the foundations of civilization, shouldn't we make sure that no one stands above it.

The adage that no one should be above the law is of particular importance here. The problem is that there are innumerable cases where some individual or group holds sufficient political power to defy the rule of law.

This issue has not yet been fully confronted because, until very recently, no one has actually brought the crimes of individuals representing large and powerful states, or their allies, to the attention of the Court.

How do you arrest the indicted person if he is Henry Kissinger, George W. Bush or any number of Israeli military and civilian leaders, all of whom may well warrant the Court’s attention.

However, this is about to change due to the decision of the Palestinian National Authority to join the ICC. This has resulted in an ICC preliminary investigation of Israeli war crimes during the 2014 invasion of the Gaza Strip.

The decision by members of Congress to attend, or not to attend, Netanyahu’s speech March 3 is a test of loyalty for members, to their elected president or to the Sheldon Adelson-controlled prime minister of Israel. That is a political decision. It is also a personal moral decision.

Escalation: US Sending Over 4,000 Ground Troops to Kuwait

President Obama hasn’t gotten approval for his “intentionally vague” Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) against ISIS, but the Pentagon is already scrambling to escalate its military presence in the region in preparation of the ground war it would start.

Over 4,000 ground combat troops from Fort Carson’s 3rd Brigade are being sent to Kuwait under this new deployment, where they will make up the region’s largest collection of US ground troops, which will include heavy armored vehicles.

Even as President Obama continues to deny plans for a ground war, it’s not a secret what the troops are being sent to Kuwait for, and officials say they’re prepared for “any contingency,” which in this context means a fight with ISIS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF Obama does not get the Congressional Authorization for a use of force, he will do what he wants with one, or several Executive Orders.

It is a fascinating component to his personality, as a former lecturer on Constitutional Law, to see that he believes, as President, he is absolutely and utterly above the law.

Extrajudicial assassinations in foreign countries? No problem! The sending of forces to the Middle East to project US military power and ultimately engage in ground combat without Congressional approval?!? No problem! To surveille everything everyone says or writes in a blog to determine if they are a "threat potential"? No problem!!

He just did the last one yesterday, via Executive Order.

As reported yesterday in zerohedge.com:

Here come the "information sharing and analysis organizations", or ISAOs. * * * In the aftermath of the Snowden whistleblowing scandal which has now all but been forgotten, there was a brief period when it seemed the growth of the US spying apparatus would be halted if not put into reverse. Those days are long forgotten and later today Obama is expected to to sign an executive order "that aims to make it easier for the government to share classified cyberthreat information with companies." The spin, as proposed by the WSJ, is that "this will be effort designed to spur collaboration and deter hackers, the White House said." In reality what Obama's latest executive order will do, is expand the universe of entities that has access to the trove of private confidential data contained in the vast government spying apparatus, which as has been made all too clear now focuses as much on US citizens as it does on legitimate foreign threats, and further eviscerate the concept of individual privacy in the US. From Reuters: The order sets the stage for new private-sector led "information sharing and analysis organizations" (ISAOs) - hubs where companies share cyber threat data with each other and with the Department of Homeland Security

UN Finds Credible Ties Between ISIS And Israeli Defense Forces

Initial reports from the IDF stated that this was only for medical care for civilians, but that story fell apart when the UN observers identified direct contact between IDF forces and ISIS soldiers, including giving medical care to ISIS fighters.

Weapons to Ukraine may end US empire

Germany, France and even American lapdog ally Britain have all voiced opposition to sending more military hardware to Ukraine, fearful that such a move would escalate the conflict and antagonize Russia into a wider war.

While hosting Merkel at the White House this week, Obama was at pains to emphasize unity between Washington and Europe over the Ukraine crisis and toward Russia. Obama felt obliged to shore up that waning unity, rather than talk about the weapons option that so many other American politicians are advocating.

Isis war to extend far beyond Iraq and Syria under Obama's proposed plan

Sources say White House plan will bless anti-Isis war for three years and ensure that Obama, like George W Bush, will hand over two wars to his successor.

Several congressional sources familiar with the outlines of the proposal, all of whom expected the White House to formally unveil it on Wednesday, told the Guardian the so-called Authorization to Use Military Force (AUMF) would bless the anti-Isis war for three years.

Congressional language to retroactively justify the six-month-old US war against Isis will not, they said, scrap the broad 9/11-era authorities against al-Qaida, as some congressional Democrats had proposed, meaning the two war authorizations will coexist.

Asked if the anti-Isis AUMF opens the US to a second worldwide war against a nebulous adversary, one congressional aide answered: “Absolutely.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The 3 year timeline in this authorization is a lousy "gift" with which to burden the coming administration, and seems to bring about the conditions leading to a perpetual state of war, something which appears to be what both parties want, in the names of those military industrial corporations which support, overtly, and covertly, both parties.
The establishment of perpetual war is a lousy principle from which create foreign policy, and really lousy for We the People.

Deserted US Embassy In Yemen Immediately Seized By Armed Rebels

.... And it's gone.

Moments after its US inhabitants leave the embassy in Yemen for one final time, it is now officially owned by the new, less than supported by the US, rebel regime.

ARMED HOUTHI REBELS SEIZE U.S. EMBASSY VEHICLES AFTER AMBASSADOR, DIPLOMATS LEAVE COUNTRY - LOCAL MEMBERS OF EMBASSY STAFF

Webmaster's Commentary:

Closing an embassy is many times a prelude to a war against those people who took over the country.

Whether this will happen remains to be seen; all that we can say, with any certainty, is that the Obama Administration's policy in Yemen has been an abysmal, epic flustercluck.

US, France and UK close embassies in Yemen amid turmoil

The United States, Britain and France said Wednesday they were closing their embassies in Yemen amid the turmoil in the wake of the Shiite rebels' takeover of the country.

The closures — almost four years to the date since the start of an Arab Spring uprising that ousted Yemen's longtime autocratic ruler — were an ominous sign for the faltering, U.N.-brokered negotiations between the Houthi rebels and their political rivals, They also threatened to plunge this impoverished Arabian Peninsula country further into international isolation.

Imagine the Truth about 9/11 being revealed! It is being reported Putin may release the TRUTH with Evidence that the U.S. government did it. It is About Time!

It is one of those things that could shock people to complete numbness and cause chaos. Our county could be turned totally crazy in protests, but it is all over due as the Truth needs to come out.

If the stories are true, Putin is threatening to release proof that the U.S. government was behind 9/11.

That is no surprise to all of us who have researched it from many years ago.

I sincerely hope Putin releases the 9/11 proof. You have to wonder if he got it from Snowden. If that evidence was part of the information that Snowden got out of the computers and if that information is what really turned Snowden against the U.S. government and what they are and have done?

I personally desire the Truth coming out.

The World, ISIS and The Oppressed Palestinians

Because the world is now ruled by injustice, the story of the Palestinian child Mohammad Abu Khdeir who was burnt alive did not go viral in the main stream media.

The story is not fresh, but the unjustified brutal burning of the Jordanian pilot, and its world wide coverage reminded me with the story of Mohammad Abu Khdeir.

It is documented now that the human brain depends on comparison to distinguish between various scenes, and this is the cornerstone of the visual illusion.

The main stream media did not focus on burning of the Jordanian pilot due to humanity, or because the pilot is a Muslim Arab, or because the event was shocking. The concealed reason is because the Western alliance against ISIS and its Arab allies need a further solid justification to intervene in the Syrian and Iraqi conflicts.

I will give a clear proof in this regard, which is:

Emirates Launches Airstrikes From Jordan on Islamic State

The United Arab Emirates launched airstrikes Tuesday against the Islamic State group from an air base in Jordan, marking its return to combat operations against the militants after it halted flights late last year.

The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces said Emirati F-16s carried out a series of strikes Tuesday morning, according to a brief statement carried by the Gulf nation's official WAM news agency.

The fighters returned safely back to base after striking their targets, the statement said. It did not elaborate, nor did it say whether the strikes happened in Syria or Iraq. The militants hold roughly a third of each country in a self-declared caliphate.

Turkey-Israel trade ties thriving

New figures show Turkey has been boosting its trade ties with Israel in recent years, despite the harsh anti-Israeli rhetoric used by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Data from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat) showed that the volume of mutual trade between Turkey and Israel exceeded USD 5.6 billion in 2014, showing a nearly 50-percent increase from 2009.

According to TurkStat, Turkey exported more than USD 2.9 billion worth of goods to Israel in 2014, while its imports were USD 2.7 billion during the same year.

The trade volume between Ankara and Tel Aviv stood at USD 2.6 billion in 2009.

The rise in bilateral trade comes as Erdogan has been harshly criticizing Israel over its brutal and repressive policies against Palestinians in Gaza.

Israel’s insolence to Obama may rebound on it

The crisis has been building for six years. Barack Obama arrived at the White House just as Israel elected one of the most right-wing governments in its history, led by Benjamin Netanyahu. At their first meeting Mr Obama reportedly told his Israeli counterpart “not one more brick”.

Mr Netanyahu soon defied the president, and has been doing so ever since.

By taking on the president, Mr Netanyahu risks smashing Washington’s political consensus on Israel and exposing the American public for the first time to a debate about whether Israeli interests coincide with US ones.

The very rift he is fostering with Mr Obama is likely to rebound on him strategically too. He is giving Tehran every incentive to sign an accord with the western powers, if only to deepen the fracture between Israel and Washington.

The slickly made video begs a few questions. Who produces IS’s videos for them? Rag-tag militants simply don’t have the technical prowess required for IS’s latest execution flick. 2,000 UK troops, RAF spy plane bound for Jordan to combat ISIS

The UK will send 2,000 specialist troops and a spy plane to Jordan to aid its efforts to defeat the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), a government source has revealed.

The decision follows criticism from the Commons Defence Select Committee that the UK was not committing sufficient troops or resources to the area.

An initial group of 60 military planners will join a coalition HQ in Jordan, which will be used to co-ordinate support of Kurdish and Iraqi troops, followed by a further 2,000 who will mainly act in a training capacity, the source told the Express.

The UK’s increased involvement follows Jordan’s decision to extend airstrikes from Syria to Iraq.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This situation is escalating exponentially, and I have to wonder: will the RAF be bombing ISIS infrastructure, or that of the Syrian government, in order to "soften Syria up" for a UK/US/Jordanian ground strike in order to achieve regime change here?!?

Only time will tell, but I am seeing a massive increase in military activity in Iraq and beyond.

US shipload of weapons and ammunition arrives in Lebanon

The U.S. ambassador to Lebanon said Sunday that $25 million worth of weapons and ammunition have arrived in Beirut, the latest American assistance to Lebanon’s army as it fights Islamic extremists along the border with Syria.

Ambassador David Hale said the equipment includes more than 70 M198 howitzers and over 26 million rounds of ammunition and artillery “of all shapes and sizes, including heavy artillery.”

Hale told reporters that Lebanon has become the fifth-largest recipient of U.S. foreign military assistance. He added that weapons worth more than $100 million were given to Lebanon last year and over a $1 billion worth in the last eight years.

He said the U.S. help to Lebanon will continue “until the job is done.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

What, I wonder, is the actual meaning of Ambassador Hale's very ominous statement that "...the U.S. help to Lebanon will continue “until the job is done.”?

I wish he had been more specific on that.

Does this mean that the fighting will continue until the world accepts US dollar hegemony at the cost of millions of lives and infrastructure destroyed world-wide?!?

What Veterans Think When the Media Gets it Wrong

Aside from Mr. Williams’ character and credibility being called into question, some are questioning whether today’s media is more about storytelling and less about reporting the facts and truth.

Brian Williams, the NBC Nightly News anchor, is taking some heat for “misremembering” an event in Iraq that took place in 2003. According to his original version of events, he was aboard a helicopter that was downed by an RPG. Last week, he recanted that version only after several soldiers who were involved called into question Mr. Williams’ version of events.

He apologized for his false statement and NBC is now launching an internal investigation.

FLASHBACK - Biden Admits the Origin of ISIS

US Vice President Joe Biden has made the latest in a series of chastening apologies, after the United Arab Emirates expressed “astonishment” at his Thursday remarks. Biden called US allies “the biggest problem” in fighting terrorism in the Middle East.

“The UAE’s counter-terrorism approach reflects a pioneering national commitment that recognises the extent of the danger posed by terrorism to the region and to its people,” said Gargash in a press release.

The assertions were in stark contrast to the incendiary remarks Biden uttered in an unguarded moment during a Q&A at Harvard University on Thursday, in which the official accused the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey of inciting radical Sunni elements to raise their weapons against Assad, who belongs to a sect of Shia Islam.

We need to look much deeper here to see who may have had a hand, albeit indirectly, in the horrific death of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh. Jordan is far from innocent when examining who is responsible for the creation of ISIS.

It has been known, for almost two years now, that Jordan has been allowing its territory to be used for the training of rebels fighting the Assad regime in Syria. The Failed 'Yemen Model'

Last September President Obama cited his drone program in Yemen as a successful model of US anti-terrorism strategy. He said that he would employ the Yemen model in his effort to "degrade and ultimately destroy" ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

But just a week ago, the government in Yemen fell to a Shite militia movement thought to be friendly to Iran. The US embassy in Yemen's capitol was forced to evacuate personnel and shut down operations.

Benjamin Netanyahu Stuns Israel Backers by Embracing Republicans on Iran

Within one week, the fundamentals of the mainstream pro-Israel community have been shaken like never before.

Its centerpiece legislative effort — the drive to impose new sanctions on Iran — has been frozen in place and, more importantly, the notion that support for Israel is a bipartisan issue in American politics has suffered a serious blow.

The source of the setbacks suffered by the organized Jewish community could be tracked down to one event: House Speaker John Boehner’s January 21 invitation to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to speak on Iran in front of a joint meeting of Congress — and Netanyahu’s acceptance of the invitation, by prearrangement — without consulting Boehner’s Democratic counterparts and without telling President Obama about his outreach to a head of state to visit. From that moment, events spiraled downward quickly, leaving the community with more questions than answers and with blame being assigned in all directions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Representative Yarmuth: there are many times when the goals and needs of the Israeli state are not the goals and needs of the American state, or its people; during those times, We the People, including those who elected you, demand your full attention, and support to, the goals and needs of the American people, particularly when they do not coincide with those of the Israeli government.

The passage of these new sanctions by Congress against Iran will be a prelude to war: you, as a logical person, have to understand that.

If Iran is attacked, one of the oldest practicing Jewish communities in the world, from the times of ancient Babylon, may well be obliterated. As an American Jew, sir, how do you feel about that?!? Are these brother and sister Jews merely "collateral damage"?!?

IF the P5+1 is unable to come to agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program, this coming war, most likely to be instigated by Israel, will draw the US in, and probably Russia and China, on the side of Iran.

I would like to politely remind you that at this point in its history, the US military does not have the troop strength; the manufacturing; or money necessary to insure a positive outcome with either Russia or China in a conventional war; and that is what makes the military scenario so scarily dangerous.

Representative Yarmuth, I would very strongly caution all those who may be thinking about advocating for the passage of these sanctions on the following; please be very, very careful about what you wish for as an outcome here. The unintended consequences of such a war could be both horrific... and irreversible.

Pelosi: Netanyahu speech to Congress could wreck Iran talks on nuclear weapons

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s scheduled speech to the U.S. Congress in March could damage the Obama administration’s attempts to broker a deal with Iran on nuclear weapons development, the senior U.S. House of Representatives Democrat said on Wednesday.

“Such a presentation could send the wrong message in terms of giving diplomacy a chance,” said Representative Nancy Pelosi during a news conference on the sidelines of an annual retreat for Democratic lawmakers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a native San Franciscan myself, Congresswoman Pelosi, I am simultaneously cringing, and wondering if you believe you should be congratulated for your magnificent grasp of the obvious.

Congresswoman Pelosi, of COURSE, that is precisely what Netanyahu will attempt to do with his joint address to Congress, then figure AIPAC will take care of the rest of the damage to American diplomacy with their usual basket of tricks. And if he and AIPAC are allowed to get away with sabotaging the P5+1 talks (to which, BTW, Israel is NOT a signatory), here is the probable outcome.

1. It will become painfully transparent, to both Americans and the world, that Israel has a stranglehold on American foreign policy; therefore, the US can no longer be perceived as an "independent, honest broker" in ANY dispute in the world, and will be shunned as a pariah.

2. The Iranian delegation will leave the peace talks permanently, understanding that it is futile to try to broker any deal with the US continuing to be held in Israel's Svengali-like grip.

3. Israel will most probably attack Iran, bringing the US military in on their side. In fact, were I a betting person, I would not bet against the possibility that Israel might attack Iran's nuclear facilities before the P5+1 talks have concluded; Superbowl Saturday, when most Americans are focused on football and food, might be

4. Hezbollah will attack Israel from the North.

5. The casualties on Israeli soil will be far higher than predicted.

6. Russia may well join Iran in their fight against the US and Israel; Russia and Iran have just signed a military "memorandum of understanding" this month.

So, in summation, unfortunately, just because leveraging more sanctions against Iran would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly counterproductive thing Congress could do at this time, is absolutely no guarantee they won't do it.

I am sure that those of you in Congress who are heavily invested in stocks in the military industrial complex will be very happy to see more sanctions go down, because, most generally, sanctions are a prelude to war.

1,000 paratroopers from Panther Brigade headed to Iraq this week

The 82nd Airborne, and more specifically its 3rd Brigade Combat Team, are no strangers to Iraq.

Since 2003, parts of the brigade have deployed in support of U.S. efforts there on at least three occasions.

Now, more than three years after the U.S. military presence in Iraq was thought over, about a quarter of the Panther Brigade will return with a new mission to help train Iraqi forces to fight the Islamic State.

About 1,000 paratroopers from the brigade will deploy this week as part of the Operation Inherent Resolve mission.

The deployment was officially announced in December and is expected to last nine months.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US has sent "trainers" for the Iraqi military, frequently during the previous occupation of Iraq; I seriously doubt that these "trainers" are going to get a much different reaction.

Unless, of course, the term "trainers" is simply a euphemism the US government and military thought, for one second, the US public would swallow, for troops pre-positioned to attack in Syria, Iran, or defend Israel against Hezbollah.

U.S. counterterrorism operations ongoing in Yemen

President Barack Obama defended his counterterrorism strategy in tumultuous Yemen Sunday, saying efforts to root out a dangerous al-Qaida affiliate there would not be affected by the political vacuum in the country.

The U.S. campaign against al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula is heavily dependent on using drone strikes to take out terror targets. Obama has held up that approach as a model for the military mission against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria, which relies on airstrikes instead of U.S. ground troops.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"...political vacuum", my ASTROLABE!!!

Mr. President, the Houthi rebels have flipping taken over the country, and the President and Cabinet have resigned (if not fled, outright, from the country.)

IF your strategy had worked, sir, the rebels would not have taken over the country, period, end of discussion.

In the immortal words of my late maternal grandmother, "The horse is already out of the barn."

You policy for Yemen can only be described as another "epic fail" in foreign policy for you.

And I had to appreciate the delicious, bitter irony of timing here: this happened precisely on the day you made the SOTU speech.

Doing the same thing (like drone strikes) over and over again, in precisely the same way, yet expecting a different outcome is a classic psychological definition of insanity.

Sir, get a grip, get a clue, and would someone in this guy's inner circle please sit this man down, and have a chat about "reality" not being a fabrication of his imagination, but very, very real facts on the ground which, although unpleasant, are completely true.

The American public would be very grateful for that, if any of you have the "male attributes" to dare to do so.

Bahrain is an Apartheid regime: Rajab

Prominent Bahraini human rights activist Nabeel Rajab says the Manama regime has created an apartheid system in the Persian Gulf country, Press TV reports.

Rajab told Press TV in an interview on Thursday that the Bahraini government has built an apartheid system by separating Shias and Sunnis.

“Almost half of the country - Shias - can’t… live,” he said.

U.S. Fears Chaos as Government of Yemen Falls

The American-backed government of Yemen abruptly collapsed Thursday night, leaving the country leaderless as it is convulsed by an increasingly powerful force of pro-Iran rebels and a resurgent Qaeda.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Al Qaeda", "Iran", blah, blah, blah...

What is going on in Yemen is the same thing that happened in Iran in 1979, and currently in Iraq and Libya. The people of that country are tired of US puppet rule and kicking the government out!

John Boehner invites Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu to address Congress

U.S. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday to address a joint meeting of Congress on Feb. 11.

“In this time of challenge, I am asking the prime minister to address Congress on the grave threats radical Islam and Iran pose to our security and way of life,” Boehner said in a statement.

The invitation came a day after U.S. President Barack Obama said in his State of the Union address he would veto legislation that toughens sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to John Boehner: forgive me, sir, but how in the name of Heaven does Iran pose a grave threat to the lives of Americans, or Israelis, for that matter?!?!?

Iran hasn't started a war in over 200 years, and their negotiators at the P5+1 meetings are working, to the best of the IAEA's understanding, to achieve a meaningful, workable pact with the West on their nuclear energy program.

I would also like to mention that Iran has one of the oldest continuing Jewish populations in the Middle East, and many of them are so contented in Iran, that they have no desire to move to Israel.

I would strongly suggest that you view the video "Don't Tell Mother I'm In Iran", filmed by a charming young videographer, who meets with Jewish members of the Iranian community in Tehran, including a merchant who is himself a member of Iran's Parliament.

Sir, Prime Minister Netanyahu has not been shy on demanding that the US invade Iran and "neutralize" the country for Israel's benefit, without the IDF lifting a finger.

I would, very strongly suggest that if Netanyahu wishes Iran to be "neutralized", that the Israeli military is strong enough to take care of that on their own.

And JUST IN CASE you did not get the memo (as I did, this morning, websurfing the news), Russia has just signed a military pact with Iran. This means that a US invasion against Iran will mean war with Russia.

So sir, do you have the gall to state, bluntly and publicly to the American people, that we have the troop strength, the money, and the manufacturing, to insure a positive outcome to such a conventional war against Russia?!?

Were you telling the truth, I don't think you would be so brazen as to answer the above questions with an uniquivocal, difinitive "yes".

Protests Escalate in Bahrain as Authorities Crack Down

- Thousands of Bahrainis held nationwide rallies demanding the release of opposition leader. Bahrain’s top opposition figure Sheikh Ali Salman has called on people across the Persian Gulf country not to remain silent in the face of the Al Khalifa regime’s atrocities and press ahead with their protests.

Bahraini forces attack anti-regime protesters

Bahrainis have held yet another protest in the capital, Manama, against the Al Khalifa crackdown on anti-regime demonstrations.

Security forces on Thursday opened fire on the demonstrators demanding the release of detained opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman.

The forces also stormed into a mosque in Manama and arrested a number of protesters.

For Sale To The Highest Bidder – How Middle Eastern Governments Are Buying Off The US Political Process

The quaint notion that the U.S. political system remotely resembles either a Republic or a Democracy should have been abandoned long ago. Any lingering illusions were surely extinguished last year, when an academic study empirically proved that the USA is nothing more than a corrupt oligarchy.

While having super rich and powerful American oligarchs running the show is one thing, the reality of the situation is actually far worse. Thanks to a recent article in Vice, we now know that foreign governments are aggressively employing their extraordinary wealth to advance their interests here on American soil. In many cases, these are autocratic regimes, which not only do not care about the best interests of the nation, they are often caught actively funding ISIS and even perpetuating 9/11 itself. Here are some excerpts from the piece:

Webmaster's Commentary:

It doesn't surprise me that these former politicians are whores for the money - ANYONE'S money; but this behaviour simply makes abundantly, and painfully clear that they absolutely do not give a rat's anus about We the People.

Warning to Nations: Don't Cross Israel

With France taking measures decisively sympathetic to Islam, why would Muslim zealots suddenly choose THIS MOMENT to murder a dozen French citizens, an act that would certainly turn French public opinion against Muslims and in favor of Israel?

Jan 09 07:23

THE CHARLIE HEBDO ATTACK 7.1.2015 We should be swift to condemn atrocity, but slow to jump to conclusions

We should be swift to condemn atrocity, whether from East or West (and West has been guilty of plenty) but slow to jump to conclusions as to perpetrators or motive of violent outrages such as this one today, in the offices of Charlie Hebdo, the French weekly satirical magazine. Recent history and events have taught us that, at least.

The reality is that these barbarous acts are embedded in, and cannot be extricated from, the whole Middle East mess, for which we cannot escape partial responsibility. The bottom line is that the role of France and other Western countries in Syria and elsewhere has probably more to do with today’s outrage than a few cartoons and the issue of free speech to which the public’s attention has been directed.

The greatest trick Obama ever pulled was convincing the world America isn’t still at war

The holiday headlines blared without a hint of distrust: “End of War” and “Mission Ends” and “U.S. formally ends the war in Afghanistan,” as the U.S. government and Nato celebrated the alleged end of the longest war in American history. Great news! Except, that is, when you read past the first paragraph: “the fighting is as intense as it has ever been since the U.S.-led invasion in 2001,” according to the Wall Street Journal . And about 10,000 troops will remain there for the foreseeable future (more than we had a year after the Afghan war started ). Oh, and they’ll continue to engage in combat regularly . But other than that, yeah, the war is definitely over.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And I can nearly guarantee you; the current wars are prologue for future wars, potentially against China and Russia to prevent the end of dominance by the US dollar.

The US government is financially on the ropes, and the only way the members of this government have known, historically, to get off those ropes, is to wage war.

This country experienced two massive depressions, followed, inevitably by war. Although the presstitutes dare not mention it, we are in another massive recession right now, because all the decently paying jobs, which used to support this country's middle class, have been offshored/outsourced to places with nearly slave labor wages.

And please, if you don't believe me, take a look at this; last year, Charlie Rangel, the senior Congressional Representative from New York, introduced a bill to reinstate the draft; but this time, should this be passed, it will be coming for both our sons and our daughters. When last I checked this month, it is still in Committee, waiting for the "right emotional moment" to be passed.

Political Crisis in Bahrain: Major Protests Following Arrest of Opposition Movement Leader

The Secretary General of Al Wefaq Society was arrested on Monday 29th December and remained in custody for one week. He had been summoned by the Alkhalifa torturers and questioned for two days before the dictator decided to exact revenge from him by detaining him for one week. Sheikh Salman is known for his soft language and tone, and has steered Al Wefaq within the Alkhalifa laws. But the tyrant has been enraged by the decision of the political societies led by Al Wefaq to boycott the regime’s hollow elections in November. It was a strong slap on his face because it showed the lack of popular support or legitimacy to his rule. The Alkhalifa and their Saudi and British backers had hoped that those elections would provide a plausible exit from the political crisis that has engulfed the country since the eruption of the 14th February Revolution.

Webmaster's Commentary:

You didn't need a crystal ball to see this coming, over the last several years.

In 2015, we may well see peaceful movements for change in Bahrain turn violent.

And Saudi Arabia, with a projected budget deficit of $38.6 billion for this year, may not have the money to send in Saudi troops to put down demonstrations, as it did a couple of years ago.

The US Navy's 5th Fleet calls Bahrain its home. So what will the Al Khalifa monarchy ask the US government to do, I wonder, and to what degree will the the US government comply in suppressing unrest in order to keep the Navy's Fifth Fleet there?!?

It will be curious to see how this unfolds.

America stabs its Arab allies in the back

The US-Arab alliance is one of the strangest and most interesting in the world, perhaps even in history. It is certainly the most one-sided, whereby America takes everything from its Arab allies and gives them nothing in return. The US attitude is disrespectful, untactful and inflexible. Washington gives Arab governments nothing to work with and nothing to give to their people, not even a fig leaf for appearances' sake.

The most recent example of this disrespect by the US was its open contempt for its Arab allies when it voted against the draft UN Security Council resolution to end the Israeli occupation of part of the occupied Palestinian territories. This resolution is based on what is known as "international legitimacy" despite the fact that the Palestinians went to the Security Council stripped of all their historical rights. However, this did not help them or gain the acceptance of Washington, which seems to disregard the Palestinians in particular and the Arabs in general.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What those Arab oil nations ought to do is all at once agree to sell their oil for the Ruble and the Yuan.

UK government urged to shelve plans to expand Bahrain naval base

A leading anti-war movement has called on the British government to suspend an agreement it has recently reached with Bahrain to develop a naval base in the Persian Gulf Arab country.

On Thursday, the Stop the War Coalition declared its strong opposition to the British plans for the development of the Mina Salman Port in Bahrain.

The group said that London should end its “disastrous interventions in the region.”

With Israel ‘war crimes’ gambit, PA risks loss of US funding

In initiating a war crimes probe against Israel with the International Criminal Court, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas may fall afoul of US legislation that would mandate defunding the PA. The US funds the PA to the tune of some $400 million per year.

Even if Abbas’s ICC investigation gambit does not play out — and Palestine’s route ahead at the ICC is strewn with legal obstacles — it is viewed by many leaders of the incoming Republican-controlled Congress as the latest justification to reexamine the PA’s American funding.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Should the US stop funding the PA, other, more local, Middle Eastern countries could well pick up the slack, like Qatar.

US warns Bahrain opposition leader's arrest could 'inflame tensions'

As Sheikh Ali Salman remains in custody after leading protest against November elections, state department says more unrest may be on the horizon.

The State Department has expressed deep concern over the detention of the Bahraini opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman, warning the arrest could lead to more tensions in the island kingdom.

Sheikh Salman, head of the al-Wefaq Islamic Society, was arrested on Sunday after leading a protest rally against elections in November which his party boycotted. He was remanded in custody for a further week on Tuesday.

“Opposition parties that peacefully voice criticism of the government play a vital role in inclusive, pluralistic states and societies,” the State Department said in a statement on Wednesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is hypocrisy writ large, on the part of the US State Department, and it stinks to high heaven.

Because Bahrain is home to the US Navy's 5th fleet, the US government has continued to enable the Sunni Al-Khalifa monarchy against its largely Shiite population. So far, these protests have been peaceful.

But these protestors have not only been arrested, tortured, then imprisoned after their arrests in a complete kangaroo court environment; the first responders who treated their wounds, meted out at the hands of the Bahraini police, have also been arrested, tortured, and jailed also.

The outlook for any real peace and democracy looks pretty dismal indeed.

The last President Kennedy said it best: "where peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

The U.S. Air Force Has a Spy Ship?—?Yes, Ship?—?in the Persian Gulf

The U.S. Air Force quietly keeps a small, inconspicuous spy ship in the Persian Gulf, presumably in order to keep an eye on Iran’s missile launches.

Technically speaking, USNS Invincible—a 224-foot vessel displacing a mere 2,800 tons—belongs to Military Sealift Command, the quasi-civilian branch of the Navy that operates America’s military logistics ship and other specialist vessels.

But Invincible is just a hull—unremarkable, painted white and maintained by 18 civilian contractors. It’s what’s inside and atop the hull that really matters. A sophisticated, dual X- and S-band radar called Gray Star that belongs to the Air Force.

‘Caught in dragnet’: Innocent charities lose millions due to anti-terror laws

British charities working in conflict zones are being cut off from millions of pounds worth of funding due to counter-terrorism legislation, a report published on Wednesday suggests.

The paper, produced by the Demos think tank, shows that a wide range of charities, especially those operating in the Middle East, have been affected as major banks continue to shut down bank accounts they believe might be linked to funding terrorist activity.

“Certain users of the banking system deemed to be high risk have found it ever harder to receive, send and store their money,” said the Royal United Services Institute’s (RUSI) director for financial crime and security studies, Tom Keatinge, who authored the report.

“In the worst cases they have had their bank accounts closed, losing financial access.”

America stumbles through another year, spreading chaos and trivia everywhere in its path

Senator Graham, regarded neither as an idealist nor a voice for peace, is only doing what so many American politicians do under the unbelievably corrupt, money-drenched American election system, and that is to make ridiculous public statements about the Middle East in return for generous dollops of campaign funds from the world’s most tireless political lobby, that for Israel. You might think that the lobby itself would tire of funding backwater blowhards demanding the other ninety-five percent of humanity play the game by America’s rules or America is picking up its marbles or chips or whatever and going home, but clearly it does not.

America’s Toxic Middle East Allies

U.S. allies in the Persian Gulf have a history of directly supporting or at least allowing private funds to flow to terrorist groups. This phenomenon has its roots in the U.S. and Saudi-backed Afghan insurgency against the Soviet Union, which included aid to the so-called “Arab Afghans” who joined the indigenous insurgency. The impact on Saudi society, and the broader Middle East, was profound.

At the same time, Gulf monarchies view these terrorist groups as a serious threat. But the Saudi state is inhibited in dealing with terrorist financing, as it cannot afford to estrange the powerful clerical establishment that permeates society and is comparatively unabashed about funding jihadists.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Security Council to vote on Palestine by Monday: Official

The UN Security Council (UNSC) will vote on a draft resolution calling for the recognition of the Palestinian state by Monday, says Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat.

Erekat told reporters that some revisions were made to the Jordanian-drafted text before sending it to UNSC.

He did not reveal the details of the amendments, Press TV reported on Saturday. The draft resolution, approved by the Arab League in September, sets 2016 as the year for a full Israeli withdrawal from the Palestinian territories.

Bahrain Adopts Israel Strategy To Alter Demographics

Prominent Bahraini human rights activist Nabeel Rajab accused Bahrain’s ruling family of seeking to change Bahrain’s demography by adopting a strategy similar to that used by the UK in the creation of Israel.

Talking to Iranian news channel Press TV, Rajab said the systematic naturalization of foreigners and the deportation of locals after revoking their citizenships are proof that al-Khalifa family is implementing the same strategy that Britain implemented in Palestine.

Dozens of Bahrainis have had their citizenship revoked and several have also been deported since Bahrain adopted the Bahraini Citizenship Law last year stipulating that suspects convicted of “terrorist” acts could be stripped of their nationality.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable.

And a short memo to the Al-Khalifa monarchy: in doing this, you are sowing the seeds for this monarchy's destruction.

And I say this because there will be a point, when these "newly minted" citizens will begin to chafe under your dictatorship, and begin to demand what the Sunni members of your country have been demanding, so far, peacefully; and that is true representation in government..

And what are they going to do when they don't get that?!? Has anyone in the monarchy or your advisers thought this through?!?

The late President Kennedy said it best; when peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable.

With these moves, you may have postponed a revolution, and bought yourselves some time; but just barely.
