Germany says expulsion of U.S. spy chief was inevitable

(Reuters) - Germany's decision to ask the CIA station chief in Berlin to leave the country was an adequate, inevitable response following fresh allegations of U.S. spying on Berlin, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on Friday.

"Our decision to ask the current representative of the U.S. intelligence services to leave Germany is the right decision, a necessary step and a fitting reaction to the break of trust which has occurred," Steinmeier told reporters.

"Taking action was unavoidable, in my opinion. We need and expect a relationship based on trust."

true He added a strong transatlantic partnership was especially important now given international crises. He would tell U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry when they meet in Vienna at the weekend for talks on Iran's nuclear programme that Germany was eager to revive that partnership on the basis of mutual trust.

Four in Ten Bostonians Skeptical of Official Marathon Bombing

A recent poll conducted by Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s defense team, part of an effort to force a change of venue for his trial, found that a majority of Bostonians—58 percent—are already convinced the accused Marathon bomber is “definitely guilty.” That may be persuasive to the presiding judge. But what’s perhaps more interesting is that the poll found a sizable number of Boston residents—42 percent—are still “unsure,” indicating that even the population with the closest proximity to the April 15, 2013, act of terrorism still harbor doubts about the “official” version of events.

Get Israel out of the West Bank

So are the people advocating firing rockets in Gaza the same type of ditzy lefties and/or Israeli stooges as the ones in the US Congress ?

To the best of my knowledge, none of the many rockets fired into Israel from Gaza have ever hit a military or police target. Most of them fail, are intercepted, or hit open desert. The few that do hit something hit civilian homes and buildings, doing minimal damage. Casualties inflicted are also few.

What they DO accomplish is to give Israel a minimal pretext which the Israelis greatly exaggerate to “justify” their attacks on Gaza and to solicit funds from the United States.

APD to buy 350-plus AR-15 rifles

Salt in the wounds!

Created: 07/09/2014 10:39 PM
By: Ryan Luby, KOB Eyewitness News 4

New Mexico's largest police department, mired in controversy over the use of excessive force, is about to supply military-style weapons to officers using taxpayer money.

The investigative team at KOB Eyewitness News 4 learned that Albuquerque Police awarded a bid to a local vendor for the purchase of AR-15 rifles -- the type of gun used to kill James Boyd in the foothills in March.

According to the request for bid, which ended two weeks ago, the department would likely purchase 350 guns in the first year of a two-year contract. Thereafter, it would order quantities of 50 as necessary.

"You're asking for trouble, in my opinion," Peter Simonson, Executive Director of the ACLU of New Mexico said.

Police Get Warrant to Take Photo of Teen's Erect Penis in Sexting Case

How's this for a new low in the area of American "law enforcement".

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with possessing and manufacturing child pornography — for taking pictures of himself which he texted to his teenage girlfriend.

But, in addition to how completely ridiculous that sounds, prosecutors in Prince William County have now informed a judge "they need photos of the 17-year-old's erect penis to compare against photos he is accused of sending to his 15-year-old girlfriend at the time," according to Yahoo! News.

This is all reportedly because police want to perform a computer analysis to match the photos they want to take under the warrant to the case evidence consisting of an explicit photo on the teen girl's cell phone.

Exclusive: More Military Bases Asked to Provide Facilities for Illegal Aliens

As the border crisis continues, the Department of Defense is requesting that additional military bases make housing facilities and land available to accommodate a continued influx of illegal alien children.

According to information provided exclusively to Breitbart through a source requesting anonymity, Major General John T. Winters has specifically requested installation support for the Department of Homeland Security to provide temporary housing to unaccompanied alien children. The request requires bases to report any facilities across the U.S. that meet the following minimum specifications: a 24,000 square foot building, 15 acres of land "level and clear," and access to utilities. The information is due to be reported by Wednesday afternoon, July 9. As the border crisis continues, the Department of Defense is requesting that additional military bases make housing facilities and land available to accommodate a continued influx of illegal alien children.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The reason for housing these illegal immigrants on military encampments is simple; should reporters, or, God forbid, members of congress actually want to inspect these facilities to find out what is really going on, they can be rebuffed in the name of "national security"

Unfortunately, however, the United States of American HAS no "national security", courtesy of a deliberate Obama administration decision to completely leave our Southern borders undefended.

They are now undefended against disease; against possible "terrorists" sneaking in; and this economy will crash, because the US government doesn't have the money to pay for all of the services these illegal aliens will require.

But perhaps a "controlled economic crash" is precisely what the White House wants to have happen. As reported in zerohedge.com two days ago:

So just maybe the Fed fully intends on heeding the advice of the BIS, and is strategically positioning itself as a stalwart dove to shield itself from the public fallout of it’s orchestrated financial calamity. A particularly sound play from a political perspective in the event that things don’t go as smoothly as planned. One thing is certain at this point: An intentionally orchestrated crash is the direct recommendation of the BIS, per it’s annual report. That this action exists as a potential policy measure is now confirmed. The remaining question is: Would the Federal Reserve pursue such a policy measure openly, or behind the same curtains from which most of their historic policies were enacted. As we re-think Mrs. Yellen’s speech to the IMF, we are less certain that the Fed is as unwilling to intervene as Mrs Yellen would have us believe. Bringing forward the next leg of the cycle, may well be on the Fed’s agenda.

White House won’t comment on expulsion of top spy from Germany

The White House Thursday refused to comment on reports Germany had expelled its top spy in the country over an espionage row, but stressed intelligence ties between the two nations were vital.

Germany took the shock move after investigating two German men alleged to be acting as double agents for US intelligence, the latest twist in a long running showdown over American covert activity in the country.

“We have seen these reports and have no comment on a purported intelligence matter,” said National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden.

“However, our security and intelligence relationship with Germany is a very important one and it keeps Germans and Americans safe,” Hayden said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Of COURSE, the US had no comment; what were the spokesdorks supposed to say on a matter of this magnitude?!?

Spying on one's alleged enemies is one thing; but spying on one of your allegedly geopolitically BFFs?!? That's tasteless, crude, and insulting.

Angela Merkel has to be steaming right now; and the big question now is, how will Germany actually respond as a nation to this?!?

I can guarantee the Obama administration one thing: it won't be pretty, coming hard on the heels of the previous spy scandal regarding Germany this year.

Monsanto's Herbicide Linked to Fatal Kidney Disease Epidemic: Could It Topple Monsanto?

Monsanto's herbicide Roundup has been linked to a mysterious fatal kidney disease epidemic that has appeared in Central America, Sri Lanka and India.
For years, scientists have been trying to unravel the mystery of a chronic kidney disease epidemic that has hit Central America, India and Sri Lanka. The disease occurs in poor peasant farmers who do hard physical work in hot climes. In each instance, the farmers have been exposed to herbicides and to heavy metals. The disease is known as CKDu, for Chronic Kidney Disease of unknown etiology. The "u" differentiates this illness from other chronic kidney diseases where the cause is known. Very few Western medical practitioners are even aware of CKDu, despite the terrible toll it has taken on poor farmers from El Salvador to South Asia.

David McQueen, a US delegate from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who has since retired from the agency, explained the US position.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That such toxic chemicals are allowed to be sold - ANYWHERE - demonstrates, without question, the toxic grip Monsanto has on politicians world-wide.

US Government Gives $100 BILLION in Improper Payments Every Year

In news that probably won't surprise anyone, the government has revealed that it makes roughly $100 billion in improper payments to people who may not be entitled to them - every YEAR.

Petition: Let’s Put Up “Unaccompanied” Illegals at White House

In response to inaction by the Obama administration and the federal government to confront the tidal wave of illegal immigrants streaming over the border into Texas, Alex Jones and Infowars have posted a petition on the “We the People” page at the White House.

We demand Obama and Congress take responsibility for the unprecedented influx of so-called “unaccompanied minors” streaming across the border. Specifically, since there is no practical way at this point to prevent thousands of people daily from illegally crossing into the United States – short of militarizing the southern border – we demand Obama and Congress house the immigrants in Washington DC.

10 Naked Truths About the American Police State

John W. Whitehead
Activist Post

“The most dangerous man, to any government, is the man who is able to think things out for himself…Almost inevitably, he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, and intolerable.”—H.L. Mencken, American journalist.

It’s vogue, trendy and appropriate to look to dystopian literature as a harbinger of what we’re experiencing at the hands of the government. Certainly, George Orwell’s 1984 and Animal Farm have much to say about government tyranny, corruption, and control, as does Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World and Philip K. Dick’s Minority Report. Yet there are also older, simpler, more timeless stories—folk tales and fairy tales—that speak just as powerfully to the follies and foibles in our nature as citizens and rulers alike that give rise to tyrants and dictatorships...

Chomsky, BDS And The Jewish Left Paradigm

The message to the Palestinian Western activists who worked for years to build a dialogue with the Jewish Left is simple and devastating – you went to bed with the wrong people. Trust in the Jewish left killed your resistance and seems to have killed whatever is left of your cause.

The verdict is clear. The occupation is not the problem; it is just a symptom of the problem. The Jewish state is a problem and it is a serious problem. The Jewish Lobby is an even greater problem and it is a global one. And as it seems, even the Jewish Left a la Chomsky is also a grave problem. At the very least it has been an obstacle that prevented the Palestinians from grasping the real context of their struggle.

Emails Point to IRS Officials Using Instant Messages

WASHINGTON—Lawmakers investigating the Internal Revenue Service's treatment of conservative groups released new emails Wednesday suggesting that top IRS officials communicated through an instant-messaging system that wasn't routinely archived.

The revelation adds to lawmakers' concerns about the agency's handling of documents related to their inquiry into the IRS's alleged targeting of conservative tea-party groups for burdensome scrutiny as they sought tax-exempt status.

Republicans already have criticized the IRS for losing about two years' worth of emails that could be important to the probe, largely because a computer hard drive belonging to a former top IRS official, Lois Lerner, crashed in mid-2011. Backup tapes storing the messages were routinely reused after six months.

The latest emails suggest that IRS officials used a separate instant-messaging system whose contents also weren't preserved.

Emergency laws to monitor phone and internet records 'to stop terrorists'

Emergency laws will be brought in next week to force phone and internet companies to hold records of customers’ calls, texts and visits to websites.

The fast-track measures are necessary to defend national security against the terrorist threat from Iraq and Syria, David Cameron said.

The consequences of not acting are “grave”, the Prime Minister said.

The measures are a response to a ruling by the European Court of Justice which struck down regulations that enabled communications companies from retaining data for police use for a year.

Internet and phone companies will soon start deleting it – a move that will have “serious consequences” for police and counter-terror investigations, Downing Street said.

Claim was made by Mark Serreze, director of the National Snow and Ice Data Centre, when speaking to Harold Ambler at Talking About the Weather

Shift is caused by water melting from beneath the Antarctic ice shelves
Scientists claim it is then re-frozen back on surface, increasing sea ice
However Nasa warns that growing Antarctic sea ice is less significant a measure than declining Arctic sea ice when assessing climate change
Antarctica’s sea ice set a record this week, reaching 815,448 square miles (1,312,000 square km) of ice above its normal range

Early poll shows strong support for GMO food labels

Early polling shows strong support for a measure likely to appear on Oregon's November ballot requiring the labeling of genetically engineered foods.

A new poll for EarthFix of Oregon residents puts support for labeling genetically engineered foods at 77 percent.

DHM Research Director John Horvick said similarly overwhelming support was found in Washington and Idaho during their three-state poll. Four hundred residents per state were polled between June 25-30. The margin of error for each state’s results was 4.9 percent.

The survey asked residents if they would support or oppose a ballot measure requiring labeling on raw and packaged food that is genetically engineered. It found 69-percent support among Washington residents — in contrast to the 45-percent support among voters in the November, 2013 election, when a measure to require labeling genetically modified food was defeated in that state.

The Federal Reserve Won’t Let Germany Inspect It’s Own Gold

The National Security Agency isn’t the only American organization upsetting some Germans. The US Federal Reserve holds 45 percent of Germany’s gold assets, and a plan to bring much of that back to its homeland is in jeopardy. Efforts to transport or even audit the billions of dollars worth of precious metal held by the US are being impeded by politics and the Fed itself, creating frustration for many of the plans supporters.

Is The Fed Going To Attempt A Controlled Collapse?

As most Fed watchers know, last week was interesting because Janet Yellen, speaking at IMF came out and said something quite surprising. In a nutshell, she said “It’s not the Fed’s job to pop bubbles”. While many market participants immediately took this to mean, “To the moon, Alice!” and started buying equities hand over fist, there’s another possible explanation for Mrs. Yellen’s proclamation of unwillingness: The Fed could be preparing to do exactly what it said it wouldn’t.

Here’s a quick re-cap of events: In the recently released Annual Report of the BIS: Bank for International Settlements (commonly thought of as the “central bank’s central bank”) the BIS made a rather ominous recommendation to it’s member banks: Pop this bubble now. Their specific language wasn’t quite so direct, but the message was just as clear.

Escalating Domestic Warfare

Last month, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) released a report titled “War Comes Home: The Excessive Militarization of American Policing,” shedding much needed light on the emergence of a militarist ethos in policing across the nation.

In a review of public records, such as incident reports, requested from more than 260 law enforcement agencies in 25 states and the District of Columbia, the ACLU found that, from the responses received, 818 SWAT operations from 20 local law enforcement agencies located in 11 states fully met their research criteria, which took geographic diversity into account, among other factors. The SWAT incidents that were analyzed fell in the time period between July 2010 and last October.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And a war against American citizens, courtesy of the Federal government, is precisely what we have going on right now. The ever-escalating police violence against Americans is only one symptom of the systemic problems with which we are dealing.

Good jobs continue to get offshored/outsourced with a vengeance; the US government is broke from these illegal and immoral wars; our education system is completely dysfunctional, save for a handful of private schools; between the Patriot Act, the Homeland Security Act, and the NDAA, the Constitution and Bill of Rights have been eviscerated; and homeless Veterans sleep in our streets, many times with zero ability to get the medical care they desperately need when they need it. Many of the people in Detroit have had their water turned off, but the US government has billions to fork out to Israel, even though this is illegal under the Symington amendment, because Israel is a nuclear armed nation which refuses to join the NNPT or have its nuclear sites inspected.

And Congress?!? Completely zero credibility these days, consisting mostly millionaires at this point, who don't give a damn about the citizens they allegedly represent, but spend all their time courting the large corporations which fund their election cycles.

This just...bites, and I frankly do not see any way out of it, short of either a complete economic collapse in the US, or a world war. Not a pleasant alternative either way.

Big Banks Want Power to Declare Cyber War

Wall Street’s biggest trade group has proposed a government-industry cyber war council to stave off terrorist attacks that could trigger financial panic by temporarily wiping out account balances, according to an internal document.

The proposal by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, known as Sifma, calls for a committee of executives and deputy-level representatives from at least eight U.S. agencies including the Treasury Department, the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security, all led by a senior White House official.

The trade association also reveals in the document that Sifma has retained former NSA director Keith Alexander to “facilitate” the joint effort with the government. Alexander, in turn, has brought in Michael Chertoff, the former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, and his firm, Chertoff Group.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More than ever before, please do NOT have any more money in your personal bank account than you absolutely need with which to pay your bills.

This is not only a lousy idea, but also, the charges depositors will ultimately face will be epically nasty. IF these services will cost one million dollars per month, you can bet your sweet bippy that it will not be the banks absorbing those costs at all.
