Humans are prone to religion, and so getting rid of religion is a brutal business. Think of how many people died under the Communist regimes--100 million. Recent research has shown that some people are genetically predisposed to be religious and I am one of them. Other people really don't get it, and obviously you are one of them. Each person should be free to practice that belief--yes, atheism is as much a belief system as deism. We can only approach absolute truth and so any absolutist statement is false. NPR radio today. A program featuring religion interviewed a jewish man who converted to christianity for a year. The NPR commentators mindless breathless questions caused to to yell repeatedly at my car radio. I mean really how much more of this institutionalized insanity do we have to stomach. I called in on my cell but never got on air. If I had I would have screamed. STFU! The rest of the civilized world, when exposed to this sort of breatless gee-whiz god is great bullshit is laughing so hard that they are rolling in the aisles.
