U.S., Israel seal deal for missile radar defense system
A spokesman for the Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency (MDA) said the new system could double or even triple the missiles' range of identification, which would be particularly useful should Iran launch an attack on Israel.
The leadership in Tehran may be many things, but it is in no way so stupid as to do a first strike against Israel, when they understand that such a strike would be an open invitation for Israel to strike back with their nuclear weapons.
This is about deflecting Israel from counter-strikes when Israel (and/or the US) attack Iran.
