U.S. factory orders drop by biggest amount in nearly two years

New orders for manufactured goods to America's factories plunged by 4 percent in August, the biggest amount since October 2006, the Commerce Department reported Thursday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why the bailout will not work. Taking $700 billion from the taxpayers and giving it to the banks so that they can loan it back to us at interest presumes that the American people will borrow that monery and make payments on it.

BUT, as high-paying manufacturing jobs vanish from the United States, Americans are refusing to borrow any more and certainly will be less inclined to do so .... because $700 billion has been taken away from them.
