US to establish naval base in Georgia

The US is negotiating with Georgia and Turkey to establish a naval base at one of the two key Georgian ports of Batumi or Poti, reports say.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let us hope that Turkish officials have the horse-sense to just say no to this.

When Pakistan closed down the Afghanistan supply routes in retaliation for US raids which killed civilians last week, that made the US ever-more reliant on Russia for getting non-military supplies into Afghanistan.

So you'd think the logic would be that the US would at least attempt to ratchet down its provocations of Russia.

So what do we do?

Attempt to establish a naval base in Georgia!

Apparently, no one no one creating foreign policy in this country has even the most remote ability to think potential actions through to their logical conclusion.
