TV Converter Program Runs Out of Funding

The government's billion-dollar program to help people prepare for the transition to digital television has run out of money, potentially leaving millions of viewers without coupons to buy converter boxes they need to keep their analog TV sets working after the switch.

Good!

Maybe more Americans will GET AN EDUCATION INSTEAD of staring at a box filled with garbage and NASCAR.
And the UNREAL reality TV on the planet.
You can SCRAP 98 percent of ALL channels offered,as moronic trash.

Digital TV

Easterling

I dropped Time Warner cable TV service two months ago. Spent to much time watching the nothingness that is TV program content in Zio/Corporate Korrect Amerika. I bought a digital TV top antenna for $30.00 and got my coupon and paid $5 for an analog digital converter box. I get 11 channels. ABCCBSNBC Two weather channels. PBS in my area has four digital channels. I only watch local news. Just as preprogrammed as national and world news in the USofA. I am happy with free TV over the airwaves. The programming is just as Zio-friendly as cable but at least I'm not paying up front for it.

LIVE FREE OR DIE

This is a swindle.

I got one of those converter boxes, two in fact.

They don't work.

They were never intended to work.

They might work if you have a penthouse apartment atop one of the transmission towers. I wouldn't know.

These electronic devices were only intended to fulfill the requirement that allows the manufacturers of these boxes to get their greedy share of the coupon money from the federal government.

Everyone in government knows these things don't work.

Forget about it.

I have a twelve inch B&W TV I bought at a yard sale. It cost me $4. So, it's no great loss for me, PBS News, Nova and The McLaughlin Group.

It is bothering me though, that it'll cost me $5 just to throw my $4 TV set away.

Everyone in government knows nothing the government gives ya works.
