Syrian Tripwire For WWIII
The Russians are making clear their intentions of using the large Russian naval presence in Tartus as a deterrent to Israeli air strikes against Syria using the powerful anti-air missiles on-board the Russian naval warships. These missile systems can sweep the sky over most of Syria and knock down Israeli F-15 and F-16 fighters. This changes the balance of power in the air over Syria.

As Iran and Syria have a mutual defence pact this move by . .
michaelmRussia is meant to keep the peace in that USrael may now be more reluctant to strike Iran as this would bring Syria in with maybe some better air defense provided by Russian naval vessels.
This is likely so as the Russians were able to spike the USrael plan of tying them down in Georgia last month by defeating the Georgian army sooner than anyone expected, which gave them better overland access than before to assist Iran if needed.
Had the Russians taken 3 weeks instead of the 3 days to defeat the Georgians Iran would have been attacked by USrael before the end of week 2.
Just what i think.
Proxy War
EasterlingWe have been fighting a proxy war with Russia in Iraq and Afghanistan to the benefit of Israel and Wall Street and the detrement of the US military and tax payers. ALL fighters in Iraq and Afghanistan use Kalashnikovs and Russian made RPGs. Hizbollah used classic Russian, actually Soviet guerilla tactics that killed many Israeli tanks and soldiers and brought the IDF to a standstill and eventual retreat with it's tail between it's legs. Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon had no Air Force, nuclear missles, or Navy.
In chess terms it appears that Russia has queened several of it's pawns and Israel/USofA's queen is history and the king is headig for check!

chillyphantomIsrael will tell the US to sent American kids into Syria. The US will obey because military personnel are just dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns for foreign policy.
