poorrichardI don't really care about spellcheck.. Although I use it.. because I am a crummy speller. I have no idea of the rules of writing.. If I'm in doubt, I just put in a couple of ..s
I like content, and I don't really care if a word or two are misspelled.. I mean to say Mike misses a few, and a lot of the letters to the editors.. have an error or two.
earlybird.. I suspect if you watched the 40 minute 20/20 you would say "This is outrageous.. I don't have the time to spend forty minutes on anything".. And yet sometimes you can squeak in a shorty, when you are waiting for the dinner to cook.. for instance.
It looks like the government is deliberately dumbing our children down.. Kind of like the George Carlin video.
(P.S) The thing that bothers me about spellcheck is that the words that are important.. Like the word dumbing is listed as not being a real word.. spelled right.. and yet it is. (Oh.. I could say dumb.. but when you say dumbing, it suggests that it is a plot against us all.)..So they don't list a spelling.
earlybird.. I see this all the time.. It is like something/somebody is eliminating the words that count.. by insisting that there is no such word.

earlybirdI saw someone who was proudly proclaiming in an email that he had just graduated from college. Either he didn't care two cents about his writing style, he consistently does not check his work before posting, doesn't use his spell checker, or he is as dumb as a box of rocks! After a few posts on an egroup, it was clear that there was no one home in his head.
