What the article labels "Somalia’s weak transitional government" is a US-supported proxy government The US appears to be absolutely willing to keep this war going, with all the more starvation and death that will cause, in order to secure Somalia's natural assets for the West.

Take a good look at the picture of the kid at the top of the article, and imagine - just for one second - that this was your kid, starving, dying, and there isn't one thing you can do about it, except hope that some tiny morsel of formula will revive them - if they can just get fed quickly enough.
