THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

"Imperialism today is taking place in the context of...the 'universalization' of capitalism. It is not now primarily a matter of territorial conquest or direct military or colonial control. It is not now a matter of capitalist powers invading non-capitalist powers in order to bleed them dry directly and by brute force. Now it is more a matter of ensuring that the forces of the capitalist market prevail in every corner of the world (even if this means marginalizing and impoverishing parts of it), and of manipulating those market forces to the advantage of the most powerful capitalist economies and the United States in particular." ... "Military force is still central to the imperialist project, in some ways more than ever."-- Political scientist Ellen Meiksins-Wood, Z magazine Nov 1999, p26

HAPPY 'KICK OUT THE GOVERNMENT' DAY!!!

Russia may eventually retrieve its military presence in Cuba and Vietnam

Russian army bases in Cuba may still become a reality. Colonel-General Leonid Ivashov, the president of the Academy of Geopolitical Sciences, stated Monday that the retrieval of the Russian military presence in Cuba may become a real response to the ongoing increase of the US military and political pressure on Russia.

This was all but inevitable

This was all but inevitable to happen and Cuba would surely welcome the presence of Russia even though they may still harbor some ill feelings on the pullout!

It seems all of this saber rattling could be easily stopped if the US and its partners would just sit down and work their differences out with Russia!

I am almost certain the Russians would be able to build the munitions up for far less than what it cost the US as well!
