The only thing the US Congress cares about is the continuation of US and monetary defense aid to Israel. It is as has been previously stated, the congresscritters are heavily invested in the military-industrial complex...It therefore stands to reason that a certain percentage of all monetary aid must be "returned" to the US in the form of purchases of arms and supplies (which will most likely be re-sold to any two-bit dictator willing to bid for it) to the profit of the military contractors.
This is the same scheme that is used when the governments say they give a country "foreign aid". What isn't said is that some of this aid is not received - and whatever monies do make their way to the targeted country, pass throught the hands of non-government agencies and organizations which are run by the elite's pals and accomplices. Very little money trickles down to the needy and when they pull out the NGO's, it also removes the "aid".

Which is why I am concerned about Israel's latest move to suspend the blockade and allow humanitarian aid through from Crypus and sit back and say nothing about the Palestianians that will be leaving Gaza on the boats on Sauturday.
