Outrage as Tom Hanks brands war veterans 'racist' after filming The Pacific
The dual Oscar-winner went further in Time magazine."Back in World War II, we viewed the Japanese as 'yellow, slant-eyed dogs' that believed in different gods," he said.
"They were out to kill us because our way of living was different.
"We, in turn, wanted to annihilate them because they were different.
"Does that sound familiar, by any chance, to what's going on today?"
I think Tom Hanks is absolutely correct and the "outrage" is from the warhawks who want to convince the US soldiers that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq serve a noble purpose.
Was WW2 racist? Judge for yourself!

Life magazine, May 22, 1944, p. 34f.: "Picture of the week. Natalie, surprised at the gift, named it Tojo.
