THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

"Imperialism today is taking place in the context of...the 'universalization' of capitalism. It is not now primarily a matter of territorial conquest or direct military or colonial control. It is not now a matter of capitalist powers invading non-capitalist powers in order to bleed them dry directly and by brute force. Now it is more a matter of ensuring that the forces of the capitalist market prevail in every corner of the world (even if this means marginalizing and impoverishing parts of it), and of manipulating those market forces to the advantage of the most powerful capitalist economies and the United States in particular." ... "Military force is still central to the imperialist project, in some ways more than ever."-- Political scientist Ellen Meiksins-Wood, Z magazine Nov 1999, p26

So why is gas still $3.50 a gallon?

Stop your belly aching Mike.

It's $5.15 US per US gallon here in Ontario or $1.09 per liter. And we are the biggest supplier to the US!!!

We are being hosed at the pumps.

I don't have proof

above average Joe

I have a real suspicion that this administration has been topping off that national oil reserve and they are now out of space to take anymore or the dollar is not being accepted anymore. These bastards will do anything to keep the price up. The oil companies in the 80-90 bought up refineries knowing it would be easy to create a bottle neck and keep prices high. Now that we are broke and no one will lend us money to fight these phony wars they have no choice but to lower the price of oil. I am now wondering when the price of food will come down. Oh by the way gas here in middle America is $ 2.38 a gal. 10% alcohol
