THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

" One in 10 chance perhaps, but save Chile! ... not concerned with risks involved ... $10,000,000 available, more if necessary ... make the economy scream."-- CIA Director Richard Helms, discussing plan to destabilize government of Chile under democractically-elected President Salvador Allende

McPalin town hall was pre-ticketed

McCain town hall style meetings are generally open to the public where anyone may wait in line on the day of the event and come in without an advanced invitation.

However, at tonight’s 3,500 person townhall in Grand Rapids, Michigan–the first time Palin is taking questions from the public– only ticketholders are allowed in.

Sadly, this is to be expected these days. The only reason we watch the debates is that they represent the only few moments where candidates may actually have an uncrafted, spontaneous moment. Even in the 2 to 3 minutes of time allowed per question, most recite a precast mini-speech with talking points.

Gone are the days of Lincoln-Douglas, when listening to people for hours was commonplace. Attenetion spans shrink, intellect follows, and social control is simplified. Now, it only takes a tiny phrase to control the minds of the many. Pack conventional knowledge in soundbites, repeat, and nobody gets the chance to question it.

Try to explain something, and you look like a fool. It takes 10+ minutes of new information to dismantle 5 seconds of a planted propaganda... and that's too complicated, takes too much time, and sounds suspiciously un'Merikun to boot!

It makes me wonder how much more paper we will allow our leaders to become.
