John Paul I: murder in the Vatican

John Paul I was born Albino Luciani, October 17, 1912, from a Socialist father and devout Catholic mother. He was ordained in 1935 and raised to the level of Cardinal by Paul VI in 1973. In 1978, Luciani was elected pope on August 26, 1978; after only thirty-three days in office—on September 28th—he died.
