Iran suspends sales tax after rare merchant strike

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered his government to suspend a controversial new sales tax Thursday, a day after a rare strike by merchants worried about how the new measure would affect their business.

Whether it's Iranian merchants, or angry American Colonists, taxation should be recognized as the nefarious essential for all empires. Allow the people to choose where and when to donate their money, and the warring state will disappear.
