The U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey, which interviewed 700 Japanese military and political officials after the war came to this conclusion: "Based on a detailed investigation of all the facts and supported by the testimony of the surviving Japanese leaders involved, it is the Survey's opinion that certainly prior to 31 December 1945, and in all probability prior to I November 1945, Japan would have surrendered even if the atomic bombs had not been dropped, even if Russia had not entered the war, and even if no invasion had been planned or contemplated."

I am one of those Americans who lost family in WW2; men who died in Europe to stop Hitler from completing whatever his plans were.

I long ago resigned myself to the fact that present-day Israel shows absolutely no gratitude to the millions who died in WW2 to stop the Nazis. I long ago resigned myself to the fact that Israel takes the attitude that WW2 was personally aimed at them and that nobody else has a right to claim to have been inconvenienced by it all. I long ago resigned myself to the fact that Israel wants to blame everyone in the world for the crimes of the Nazis, in order to extort money and a carte blanche in Palestine.

But I have to wonder what all those millions who died in WW2 Europe would have to say about the nation that rose on their bloodied corpses and whether by their acts that nation was worth such sacrifice.

Could you imagine if you were to see a moving truck pull up next door and you realize a new neighbor is moving in and then you find out it is this bigoted, foul mouthed, death threat issuing asshole? Then worse luck still, you find out his family and friends of like mind have evicted your old neighbors from their nearby homes and farms and and are now moving in all around you.

If I was there and a Palestinian told me I'm gonna rocket this guy's ass, I'd be sorely tempted to say, "Hang on, let me help you light that fuse."
