Draft document shows EU may seek to link carbon market with US

The EU may seek to create a joint carbon market with the US if that
country creates a cap-and-trade system, according to a draft EU strategy paper set for official release Wednesday.

In addition to linking the EU Emissions Trading Scheme with a potential future US carbon trading system, the EU would also set up "bilateral processes" with other national or regional cap-and-trade programs with a focus on tie-ups with Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development nations, the draft strategy paper said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I keep telling you, this global warming scam is all about sticking the people with more taxes and creating a new "product" out of thin air than can be bought and sold and "enronized" to make the insiders very rich at your expense.

European observers have already pointed out that their cap and credit system has made certain individuals very rich, but has not demonstrably improved the environment. Polluters are still polluting; they just have a license (which consumers ultimately pay for) to do so.
