Alaska Republicans close ranks around Palin

Only a few months ago, many leading Republicans here were deriding Palin as a free-spending oil baron in the mold of Hugo Chavez. Now most are doing their best to cheer the governor on as a budget-cutting fiscal conservative running for vice president.

Which means it's all bovine excrement and they know it's bovine excrement, but they are loyal to the party and that means chewing the bovine excrement while keeping a smile on the face!

John Adams wrote that the greatest danger the United States would face was not from a foreign power but from political parties, because parties always abandon what is good for the nation in their quest for what is good for the party.
