THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

"Imperialism today is taking place in the context of...the 'universalization' of capitalism. It is not now primarily a matter of territorial conquest or direct military or colonial control. It is not now a matter of capitalist powers invading non-capitalist powers in order to bleed them dry directly and by brute force. Now it is more a matter of ensuring that the forces of the capitalist market prevail in every corner of the world (even if this means marginalizing and impoverishing parts of it), and of manipulating those market forces to the advantage of the most powerful capitalist economies and the United States in particular." ... "Military force is still central to the imperialist project, in some ways more than ever."-- Political scientist Ellen Meiksins-Wood, Z magazine Nov 1999, p26

HAPPY 'KICK OUT THE GOVERNMENT' DAY!!!

The 3 A.M. Call

The odds are that the next president will have to deal with some major financial emergencies.

So what do we know about the readiness of the two men most likely to end up taking that call? Well, Barack Obama seems well informed and sensible about matters economic and financial. John McCain, on the other hand, scares me.

It bothers me that ...

It bothers me that there is rally only one blatantly obvious solution available. Is someone being led down the garden path?

We know the two party system is a farce. It was set up to give the impression that there were options available. But looking at today's race, there is only one option. The alternative would obviously be a disaster even before it happens.

So, why did the Repugnant Party do this? Perhaps McCain and Palin are the clowns left to entertain as the curtain comes down on Americans forced to vote for the evil that lurks in their faces.
