U.S. Police Routinely Travel to Israel to Learn Methods of Brutality and Repression

Political commentator John Miranda recently stated that police brutality is directly linked to the training some officers receive in Israel.

“As for the increase in police brutality within the United States, I think this definitely can be pointed towards the Israeli training that the Department of Homeland Security is giving all of American police officers.

Some police officers are actually being flown to Israel for the training, not all of them but some, and then those that are flown to Israel, they come back home and they train the head officers in the training that they’ve gotten in Israel.

All these incidents, it is not just happening to African Americans. Police are literally being brutal with all Americans.”

There was a meeting in a church in Harlem organized by people who are opposing police murders and the whole system of mass incarceration (a/k/a the New Jim Crow) which has Black men and women spending decades in prison for non-violent drug offenses (brought about by the Rockefeller drug laws and mandatory sentencing). And with the prisons privately run and them making contracts with many industries where prison labor is a source of slave labor, they find ways of keeping people in prison. A very sick outrageous situation. Of course a disproportionate people in the prisons are black because the police are concentrated in their communities and because they don’t have $ for big name lawyers.

Growing Marijuana Strains that Treat PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

By Daniel Dharma

In our ongoing series on using marijuana to treat PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), we’ve explained what PTSD is, its symptoms, and that marijuana is being used to treat PTSD.

One of the biggest questions I keep getting asked is “which marijuana strains best treat PTSD?”

You’ll want to read all the other articles in this series to help answer that question, so I’ll put links to those articles at the end of this article.

In those past articles, I talked about generic kinds of marijuana that help with PTSD, and why they help.

In this article I give you info about growing specific marijuana strains that help with PTSD…

Pathways and Pitfalls of Islamic Struggles

By Richard Wilcox, PhD

Book Review of "Islamic Resistance to Imperialism" by Eric Walberg

Eric Walberg has now written three books on the topic of Islamic culture in relation to Western geo-politics and world events. He is a prolific journalist and scholar who has lived in Central Asia and the Middle East.

In Walberg’s third book, "Islamic Resistance to Imperialism" (2015, Clarity Press, 304 pages), he presents a view of the world most people in the West, especially those exposed to a diet of mainstream media may not be familiar with or sympathetic to. Issues that deal with religion, culture and geo-politics are inherently complex. Even worse, disinformation is intentionally promulgated by Western governments and their lapdogs in the media to mislead the public into supporting the West’s “war on terror.”...

THE POLICE: OUR ENEMIES IN BLUE?

The police are specialists in coercive force. Their distinguishing characteristic is the combination of surveillance and violence to make people do what people with power want them to do. That usually gets described in terms enforcing the law, but what I found in my research is that the real distribution of power is a much better indicator of how the police will act in any given situation. On the whole, they behave in ways that serve the interests of the powerful at the expense of the rest of us.

Chile Considers Cannabis Decriminalization, Highlighting Growing Movement in Latin America

With its proposed changes to Ley 20.000 (Law 20,000), Chile joins a growing list of Latin American countries decriminalizing marijuana. The initiative, which would grant Chileans the right to possess up to 10 grams of cannabis and grow up to six marijuana plants at a time, was passed in Chile's Chamber of Deputies on July 7 with 68 voting in favor and 39 against. The bill must first be adjusted by a health commission and then passed by the Senate before it officially becomes law, but strong support for cannabis legalization in the country illustrates that legalizing marijuana use appears to be the new norm in the Western Hemisphere and, once again, that the War on Drugs has been a failed campaign.

Man Has No Regrets After Arrest For Tampering With Long Island Red-Light Cameras

A 42-year-old Centereach man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he tampered with red-light cameras in Ronkonkoma, pointing them upwards so that they would not capture violators, but Stephen Ruth certainly isn’t apologizing.

“To all the people thinking “why would he do that? Didn’t he think he was going to get arrested?” Ruth wrote on his Facebook page early Wednesday. “Of course I knew I would be arrested. I did it for the people who come back from war and get abused by these cameras. I did it because senior citizens are getting these, the same ones that went to war for us. These same seniors live in New York’s high cost environment and are being forced out of New York because of its high taxes.”

In May of 1967, a former CIA officer named Tom Braden published a confession in the Saturday Evening Post under the headline, “I’m glad the CIA is ‘immoral.’” Braden confirmed what journalists had begun to uncover over the previous year or so: The CIA had been responsible for secretly financing a large number of “civil society” groups, such as the National Student Association and many socialist European unions, in order to counter the efforts of parallel pro-Soviet organizations. “[I]n much of Europe in the 1950’s,” wrote Braden, “socialists, people who called themselves ‘left’—the very people whom many Americans thought no better than Communists—were about the only people who gave a damn about fighting Communism.”

BDS MUST ADMIT ITS MISTAKES

For the past ten years the International BDS Movement has been the most vocal and respected Movement against the occupation of Palestine.

Attempts by the Israeli government to blackmail the BDS leadership have failed and will continue to do so. Instead, victory after victory have been celebrated throughout the world as BDS wins battle after battle.

Elaine Fydrych, who died Aug. 13 at the age of 63 after a long battle with lung cancer, included the unconventional request at the end of her obituary telling those who wished to honor her memory:

“Elaine requests, 'In lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Hillary Clinton.’”

James Boyd: New Mexico officers to stand trial for murder in homeless man's death

Prosecutors filed murder charges against the two officers in the killing of 38-year-old James Boyd, who authorities say had schizophrenia. He was shot during an hours-long standoff in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains, where police accused him of camping illegally. He died at a hospital after his arm was amputated. Seven police officers around the country have faced murder charges for on-duty incidents since 2010. One was convicted of manslaughter and assault after a second-degree murder count was dropped. The rest are still in court proceedings.

APD officers will stand trial for murder in shooting of James Boyd

Judge Neil Candelaria on Tuesday ruled there is probable cause for two Albuquerque police officers to stand trial in the 2014 shooting death of a homeless man.

Retired officer Keith Sandy and officer Dominique Perez will face charges of 2nd-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter and battery in court. The officers fatally shot James Boyd during a standoff in the foothills.

The real reason Donald Trump is so popular: He’s the surrogate mouthpiece for the things most Americans deeply believe (but are too afraid to say)

Trump is willing to say the words of truth that everybody else already believes but is too afraid to utter... cutting through the thickness of the political bullsh*t is what is required at this point. Would he be a good president? Probably not... heh... but at least he's stirring the pot.

Changing How You Think of Resistance to Tyranny

There are many facets of your life that while you can’t change everything, you can make small meaningful changes that put you back in control. Some of these changes are simple while others are more involved, but each is its own form of resistance to what you are being told is good and right. (Resist the news they want you to hear, Resist the food they want you to eat)

What the Latest Currency ‘War’ is All About

When the US embarks on perennial quantitative easing, that’s OK. When the EU does QE as well, that’s OK. But when the Bank of China decides it’s in the best interest of the nation to let the yuan go down a bit instead of infinitely up, that’s Armageddon.

An internationalized yuan established as a global reserve currency implies a "market-determined" exchange rate policy.

It took the Bank of China to devaluate the yuan on two consecutive days — moving within the 2 percent band that it’s allowed to — for the proverbial global financial banshees to go completely bonkers.

Forget the hysteria. The heart of the matter is that Beijing has stepped on the gas in a quite complex long game; to liberalize the yuan exchange rate; allow it to free float against the US dollar; and establish the yuan as a global reserve currency.

The Social Costs of Capitalism

The public subsidies provided to miners, loggers, and ranchers are as extravagant and as harmful to the public interest as the subsidies that the Federal Reserve and Treasury provide to the "banks too big to fail."

Few, if any, corporations absorb the full cost of their operations. Corporations shove many of their costs onto the environment, the public sector, and distant third parties.

Economists call these costs “external costs” or “social costs.” The mine made its profits by creating pollutants, the cost of which is borne by those who had no share in the profits.

British petition calls for Netanyahu to be arrested for war crimes

The petition, filed on the U.K. parliament petition website, was apparently inspired by an upcoming visit to London by Netanyahu for meetings with the government.

Thousands of U.K. residents have signed a petitiondemanding the arrest of Israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu for his war crimes against Gaza during last summer’s brutal offensive.

Given the large scale of support and attention, the U.K. government may be forced to publicly respond in the near future.

Crimes Against Humanity: .01% poverty-murder over 400 million people since 1995, more than all wars in recorded history

*hyperlinks/video live at source*

“Crimes against humanity” include any of the following acts committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack:
murder;
extermination;
enslavement;…
the crime of apartheid;
other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering or serious bodily or mental injury.
– International Criminal Court (ICC)

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) (1), the hunger-ending organizations RESULTS (2), and Bread for the World (3) estimate that 15 million people die each year from preventable poverty, of whom 11 million are children under the age of five. Jeffrey Sachs says the total deaths are closer to 8 million (4). Either way, poverty causes more human destruction every year than those claimed in the Holocaust.

“By means of ever more effective methods of mind-manipulation, the democracies will change their nature; the quaint old forms -- elections, parliaments, Supreme Courts and all the rest -- will remain. The underlying substance will be a new kind of non-violent totalitarianism. All the traditional names, all the hallowed slogans will remain exactly what they were in the good old days. Democracy and freedom will be the theme of every broadcast and editorial. Meanwhile the ruling oligarchy and its highly trained elite of soldiers, policemen, thought-manufacturers and mind-manipulators will quietly run the show as they see fit.” - Aldous Huxley, Brave New World Revisited (1958), Section XII

Tourists Among 16 Killed by Bomb at Bangkok's Erawan Shrine

A bomb attack killed 16 people including tourists in the commercial heart of the Thai capital Monday evening.

At least 78 more were injured by the powerful blast which hit during rush hour at a popular landmark heavily frequented by Thais and tourists alike.

One Filipino victim and two Chinese nationals were among those killed, outgoing police chief Somyot Pumphanmuang said. Twelve died at the scene and another four have since died in hospital, he said.

"We have not discarded any possible motive," he said at a news conference at the Royal Thai Police headquarters, located meters away from the scene of the attack. Despite media reports indicating one bomb was attached to a utility pole while a second detonated from a motorcycle, Somyot denied a car bomb was involved, saying it was planted on the scene.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are to be no elections in Thailand, run now by a military junta, until 2016.

I do not look at that timing for elections, and these bombings, as being unrelated.

Hundreds of anti-fascists foil neo-Nazi march in Liverpool, several arrests made

Clashes erupted ahead of a planned “White Man March” called by a neo-Nazi group in Liverpool as anti-fascists countered the protest. Several arrests were made and the neo-Nazi march was canceled due to public outrage.

The neo-Nazi rally, organized by the National Action Group, which local media branded as the largest and the most visible action of its kind in the UK in decades, was to begin at 2 p.m. local time near Lime Street Station and end at Liverpool's Pier Head. It was apparently called off due to massive popular resentment.

Initially about 150 National Action Group supporters were expected to take part in the rally. About 150 neo-Nazis came to Liverpool, but faced hundreds of anti-fascists and outraged locals protesting against the march, as could be seen from images posted on social media.

Breaking: Trump Picks Netanyahu as Running Mate for 2016

The Israeli Daily got wind of this dramatic political development after Trump’s limo driver leaked the information while fooling around with Israeli tourists outside of Trump Tower in Manhattan.

Sources close to the Prime Minister revealed he was given the unexpected nod through third party ‘back-channel negotiators’. He remarked to inner, inner-circle staff member, Sarah Netanyahu, “What chutzpah! Choosing a running mate before being nominated. What is he? Israeli?”

Opposition leaders in the Israeli government believe Bibi accepted The Donald’s invitation purely as a plan B strategy. Backup insurance in case his hawkish coalition government turns to shit.

Just kidding!

The age of transition and scientism fraud

Ours is the great transition age. For the masses, the glowing assumption is that the transition and transformation age we are undergoing is the work of a long, evolutionary process of “natural” “progress.” Wandering about their bubbles, these presuppositions never go challenged or examined, having dobbed their cafeteria plate lives from a long string of newsbite phrases and empty slogans overheard in establishment schooling. “We are evolving,” and “We live in an era of change,” and numerous other advertising blurbs that underlie modernity’s plastic ideology actually form the basis for most of humanity’s worldview. Yet are any of these assumptions actually true? Are we in living in an era of “progress” and “human ascent”?

John McCain Confronted by Oak Flat Protesters and Chased Off Navajo Nation

Republican U.S. Senator John McCain did not exactly receive a warm welcome when he visited the Navajo Nation this weekend to commemorate the Navajo Code Talkers. Though McCain’s visit to the capital city of Window Rock ostensibly had nothing to do with environmental politics, he was met repeatedly by young activists concerned about their future supply of water and other hot topics like copper mining in Oak Flat.

‘Deal or war’: Is doomed dollar really behind Obama’s Iran warning?

This is not just about Iran. It is about other major world economies moving away from holding the US dollar as a means of doing business.

In his drastic prediction of war, one might assume that Obama is referring to Israel launching a preemptive military strike on Iran with the backing of US Republicans. Or that he is insinuating that Iran will walk from self-imposed restraints on its nuclear program to build a bomb, thus triggering a war.

But what could really be behind Obama’s dire warning of “deal or war” is another scenario – the collapse of the US dollar, and with that the implosion of the US economy.

That scenario was hinted at this week by US Secretary of State John Kerry. Speaking in New York on August 11, Kerry made the candid admission that failure to seal the nuclear deal could result in the US dollar losing its status as the top international reserve currency.

The time is coming for one of two futures:

Critical mass recognize Emperor’s New Clothes facts of .01% crimes centering in war, debt that we use for money, and lies. As in the story, recognition ends the tragic-comedy. Our real-world story will end in lawful arrests for these obvious crimes.
The Orwellian crimes continue to escalate from current ~100 crucial areas, continuing to reduce all Earth’s inhabitants to work animals of the .01% requiring “culling of the herd” (or worse).

Choose wisely.

After Ferguson Unrest, St. Louis Police Bought Stink Weapons to Launch at Protesters

Another year, another series of violent protests in the city of Ferguson, just outside St. Louis, Missouri. But this time, the law-enforcement response may take a particularly fetid turn. Local police are armed with Skunk, a controversial chemical “malodorant” — or more plainly, an unbelievably foul-smelling liquid that can be fired at protesters to make them disperse, or mark them for later arrest.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Is it just me, or does anyone else out there believe that such incidents are being manipulated to create race riots in this country, as a prelude to the suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the imposition of martial law in this country?!?

Logic suggests that rather than buying stink bombs to use against protesters, the Ferguson police department needs to be talking with the community about how to improve relations between police and the community. It has been done, and can be done; so why is this not happening in Ferguson?!?

We have a President who would love nothing better than invoke legislation through executive order only, and not be bothered with any Congressional debate.

Also, the "presumptive dynastic heiress" to the Democratic party's "coronation" as presidential candidate is stumbling worse than a rhinoceros in high heels, attempting to descend a staircase.

Wouldn't it be just wonderful for this Administration if somehow, for reasons of alleged "national security"the President could have the 2016 elections postponed until collective ADHD had settled on the masses of voters, and they would not remember how and why this woman is in big trouble for the 2016 election?!?

And people with real grievances out there; please do not get sucked into protests which may well turn violent. Remember; the greasy kid advocating the throwing of Molotov cocktails into various federal, or state, buildings, is probably an alphabet-soup agency agent/provocateur.

It’s 460 AD in Rome: This Won’t Be Fixed

Another American election cycle is upon us, and large numbers of people are lining up to pour their time and money into the sewer of politics, to be lost forever.

This system will not be fixed. Period. This is Rome in 460 AD. The rulers, as in Rome, are liars, mad, or drunk (these days, drugged)… or all three.

The “fall of Rome,” of course, was far more complex than we learned in school, but through all the many years of its decline, Rome was full of well-meaning people trying to reform and save it. And by the way, among the people who tried the hardest to keep the Roman game going were the Goths. They tried hard to keep Rome operational… and they failed too.

Let me be clear on this: Once ruling hierarchies get beyond a certain point, they cannot be reformed. And I am sure that the modern West is beyond that point.

The Centerpiece of US Foreign Policy Struggle

The basic question for all Americans is whether we will act as an independent, sovereign country pursuing peace through diplomacy, as we currently see unfolding with Iran and Cuba, or a submissive military instrument, directed by Israel’s proxies hell-bent on destroying America for Israel.

While many US intellectuals, liberals, progressives and leftists support the US-Iran agreement (see the Scientists’ Letter to Obama on Iran Nuclear Deal, Aug. 8, 2015 with 29 top scholars and Nobel laureates support diplomacy), few would dare to identify and attack Israel’s US proxies as they promote Tel Aviv’s agenda pushing the US to war with Iran. A brief glance through the sectarian left press, for example, The Socialist Register, New Politics, New Left Review, finds no discussion of the powerful, well-financed, highly organized, elite-driven Israeli proxies and their role in determining US wars in the Middle East, and more specifically the war agenda toward Iran.
