Charns: Forms show Durham police officer shot himself

DURHAM:
The defense attorney for Carlos Antonio Riley released documents he says show a Durham police officer shot himself in a struggle during a traffic stop three years ago.

At a press conference Monday, attorney Alex Charns said the documents show the Durham Police Department intended from the start to pin the shooting on Riley despite what the evidence said.

A jury last week acquitted Riley of all but a robbery charge tied to the Dec. 18, 2012, traffic stop that left Officer Kelly Stewart with a gunshot wound to his right thigh.

ISIS 'Mein Kampf' Blames Israel for Global Terrorism

Intelligence officials are comparing a newly discovered secret Islamic State document to Hitler’s “Mein Kampf,” as it blames Israel for the rise of the Islamic State and crowns U.S. President Barack Obama as the “Mule of the Jews.”

“It reads like the caliphate’s own Mein Kampf,” said a U.S. intelligence official, who reviewed the document. “While the world is watching videos of beheadings and crucifixions in Iraq and Syria the Islamic State is moving into North Africa the Middle East, and now we see it has a strategy in South Asia. It’s a magician’s trick, watch this hand and you’ll never see what the other is doing.”

Reducing prison time for violent offenders may significantly reduce mass incarceration

WASHINGTON, August 17 (UPI) -- The United States incarcerates more people than any country in the world, 2.2 million at last count. As calls to reform the American penal system have intensified, a Washington think tank has created an interactive tool shedding light on what policy changes may be most effective in controlling the prison population.
In a telephone interview, Peterson said "You can't just say non-violent first time drug offenders -- we need to let them out of prison and that is going to magically solve the problem. That is not really the answer."

The answer these Brainiacs have come up with is to let violent offenders out early, like, you know, murders and rapists and robbers! OH! MY!

Mandelson's secret 'stop Corbyn' plot: Grandee told Burnham, Cooper and Kendall to all QUIT the Labour leadership race

Lord Mandelson attempted to halt the Labour leadership contest by persuading the other three candidates to quit in order to stop Jeremy Corbyn, it was claimed last night.

The former business secretary is said to have approached Andy Burnham, Yvette Cooper and Liz Kendall privately last week to argue that the party would halt the contest if they all pulled out.

But the 61-year-old Labour grandee dropped the plan after officials warned him the withdrawal of the three mainstream rivals would hand immediate victory to Left-wing favourite Mr Corbyn.

FLASHBACK - Hillary Clinton's 'hacked' Benghazi emails: FULL RELEASE

On the back of widespread public interest RT has decided to publish in their entirety a series of memos which were allegedly sent from a one-time White House aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton, Terrorism, Internet, USA, Libya, Hacking

The emails, which were allegedly sent by former political adviser Sidney Blumenthal to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, were forwarded to RT by a hacker using the alias “Guccifer.”

Guccifer was credited with hacking the AOL email account of Blumenthal last week, though the authenticity of the emails has not been verified.

The purported memos appear to contain sensitive information regarding the September 11, 2012 attacks on the US diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, as well the January 2013 hostage crisis in In Amenas, Algeria.

Blumenthal has been refraining from comments so far. RT reached Blumenthal's son Max, who confirmed that his father will not be making any remarks about the leak.

If People in This Country Cared as Much About Our Government Screwing Us Over as They Do About Sports…

Check this out. This is a video titled, “Social Experiment: Sports Rivalry Boston vs. New York PUNCHED IN FACE!” via HammyTV on YouTube. It shows a man walking down the street wearing a Yankees jersey in Boston and how he gets generally treated like a piece of dirt by people for it.

While the punch at the end is likely totally staged (as many have pointed out in the comments of the video), the rest of it does blatantly illustrate one thing (besides that people can be total jerks to each other for relatively stupid-in-the-grand-scheme-of-things reasons).

As Facebooker Brent Dickey III pointed out in sharing the vid, “If people cared as much about their government selling out their sovereignty and rights as they do useless bullsh*t like sports we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in.”

IT firm hired by Hillary Clinton: It's 'highly likely' there's a backup of emails she deleted

The IT firm hired by Hillary Clinton to oversee her private server has told ABC it is "highly likely" a backup copy of the server was made, meaning any emails Clinton deleted before she handed the server over to investigators may still be accessible.

Being able to access the deleted emails via a backup server would most likely make investigators' job much easier, cybersecurity expert Alex McGeorge of Immunity Inc. told Business Insider on Friday.

"The reason you back up a server is fairly straightforward, and it would be standard practice to do so," McGeorge said.

Report: State officials hiding extent of classified info on Clinton servers

State Department officials tasked with screening Hillary Clinton's emails for release under the Freedom of Information Act are using exemptions in the transparency law to mask the extent of classified information they encounter.

Intelligence community officials who were brought into the FOIA review process amid concerns over potentially classified material have alerted their inspector general that State FOIA officers are altering classification decisions, according to a report by the Washington Times.

After intelligence officials have flagged parts of emails as classified, State Department employees have instead redacted those same passages under one of nine exemptions permitted under FOIA.

Hillary Clinton's candidacy to be trashed by scandal: Investigative journalist

Lindorff went on to say that Clinton’s “candidacy is going to be trashed. We are seeing how angry Americans are in the impressive support at rallies for Senator Bernie Sanders, the independent so-called socialist candidate from Maine.”

“And even among Republicans, there is a lot of disgust at the narcissism of the candidates, and so that gives the appeal to Donald Trump, who is a sort of clown, but says things that appeal to frustrated Republican voters,” he added.

“So it’s really, really volatile electorate. And Hillary Clinton is losing out,” concluded the author of The Case for Impeachment.

Donald Trump Releases Plan to Combat Illegal Immigration

After staking his early campaign on caustic and contentious remarks about undocumented immigrants, Donald J. Trump on Sunday outlined his plan to fix the country’s immigration system and deal with people who are in the country illegally.

The position paper, published on Mr. Trump’s website, centered on three principles. The first stated that “a nation without borders is not a nation” — a theme Mr. Trump has made a constant in his stump speeches — and called for a wall to be built along the southern border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The GOP War Heats Up with Trump Scorching Fiorina in New Hampshire Speech

Trump responded directly to Fiorina’s criticism:

“Carly was a little nasty to me. Be careful, Carly. But I can’t say anything to her because she’s a woman, and I don’t wanna be accused of being tough on women. I can’t do that, right? …Am I allowed to fight back?

I promised I wouldn’t say that she ran Hewlett-Packard into the ground… that her stock value tanked, that she laid off tens of thousands of people, and she got viciously fired. I said I will not say that!”

IJReview reached out to Anna Epstein, Carly Fiorina’s Press Secretary, for comment. Epstein simply stated:

“We don’t have anything to add.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Fiorina seems to have the same attitude problem Megyn Kelly has, a belief that woman are allowed to attack men but that under Political Correctness men are supposed to just fall over and not fight back!

Good for Trump.

And he is right. Carly not only almost wrecked Hewlett-Packard, she almost wrecked companies using the products made by Hewlett-Packard during her tenure, including my animation shop, which I had built using HP equipment because of my previous experience in their high quality and reliability while Messrs. Hewlett and Packard still ran the place! To give you an idea of how bad it was, the HP CD-burners (made in Hungary) we were using to make deliverable disks lasted only about two weeks. After going through the hassle of getting them replaced several times (a long task here on Oahu), coupled with an HP computer that kept locking up due to a design flaw on the motherboard, we started phasing out all the HP equipment from the shop. Carly Fiorina might have been the role model for the charazcter Meridith Johnson in Michael Crichton's book, "Disclosure!"

The Worst Thing Tricky Dick Ever Did: How Nixon and the British Destroyed the Best Monetary System the World Has Ever Had, Forty-Four Years Ago this Weekend

This weekend marks the forty-fourth anniversary of the deliberate destruction of the highly successful Bretton Woods System by Richard Nixon at Camp David, Maryland on August 15, 1971 – in many ways the worst thing Tricky Dick ever did. Since then, we have lived in the era of floating rates for currencies – a synonym for chaos, in which nobody knows what money will be worth a few weeks or months into the future. This has slowed the growth of world trade, which must be financed one, two, or three months ahead at minimum. The lack of fixed parities among the main world currencies has added crippling currency risk, providing a pretext for toxic derivatives as a way to deal with this risk. The euro crisis is also a spin-off of the Bretton Woods collapse, since a currency union is another way to remove currency risk. The Greek-centered euro crisis and recent competitive devaluations by Japan and China have once again focused world attention on the dangers of currency chaos.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To be fair, Nixon's hand was forced because the Federal Reserve violated the original Bretton-Woods agreement by over-printing dollars well past the US' ability to redeem those dollars for gold at $35 per ounce.

The age of transition and scientism fraud

Ours is the great transition age. For the masses, the glowing assumption is that the transition and transformation age we are undergoing is the work of a long, evolutionary process of “natural” “progress.” Wandering about their bubbles, these presuppositions never go challenged or examined, having dobbed their cafeteria plate lives from a long string of newsbite phrases and empty slogans overheard in establishment schooling. “We are evolving,” and “We live in an era of change,” and numerous other advertising blurbs that underlie modernity’s plastic ideology actually form the basis for most of humanity’s worldview. Yet are any of these assumptions actually true? Are we in living in an era of “progress” and “human ascent”?

OBAMA-APPOINTED JUDGE GIVES POTENTIALLY BREAKTHROUGH RULING GIVING DRUG COMPANIES THE RIGHT TO MARKET DRUGS FOR USES NOT APPROVED BY FDA

A federal court has given a drug company preliminary approval to market a drug for a condition not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Amarin Pharma’s drug Vascepa is approved for use in treating extremely high levels—over 500 milligrams per deciliter—of fats known as triglycerides, in the blood. Amarin also wanted to promote the drug for use in patients with “persistently high levels,” from 200 to 499, of triglycerides. The FDA denied approval for that use earlier this year, concerned that Vascepa wouldn’t help such patients avoid heart disease or heart attacks. Amarin then went to court, claiming its First Amendment rights allowed it to give information to physicians.

Neocons to Americans: Trust Us Again

Marching in lockstep with Israeli hardliners, American neocons are aiming their heavy media artillery at the Iran nuclear deal as a necessary first step toward another “regime change” war in the Mideast – and they are furious when anyone mentions the Iraq War disaster and the deceptions that surrounded it.

America’s neocons insist that their only mistake was falling for some false intelligence about Iraq’s WMD and that they shouldn’t be stripped of their powerful positions of influence for just one little boo-boo. That’s the point of view taken by Washington Post editorial page editor Fred Hiatt as he whines about the unfairness of applying “a single-interest litmus test,” i.e., the Iraq War debacle, to judge him and his fellow war boosters.

Why Israel Is So Concerned About Jeremy Corbyn

Disinformation and propaganda can take the form of omission just as much as straight forward lies and deception. There is no doubt that that all political parties, one way or another, in the past have been staunch supporters of Israel’s illegal actions over Palestine and its people, more particularly, in the offensive of Gaza starting July 2014. British government complicity that enables impunity of Israeli war criminals also profits from the death, destruction and apartheid regime imposed.

Hillary's emails WERE backed up to another server – and it may still exist – as the FBI works to figure out how well the data was scrubbed

Tens of thousands of emails once housed on former secretary of state Hillary Clinton's private computer server were moved to another device after a Colorado company took possession of the device in 2013, leaving open the possibility that copies of messages Clinton later chose to delete might still exist.

The FBI seized the server this week in a stunning move, signaling a new intensity in the investigation into whether Clinton knowingly send or received top-secret classified information through her private address while she was America's top diplomat.

Bloomberg reported Thursday night that Barbara Wells, an attorney for Platte River Networks, Inc., confirmed that while the server hardware now controlled by the FBI 'is blank and does not contain any useful data,' its contents could still be safe and sound elsewhere.

TOP EXECUTIVE AT HILLARY'S SERVER COMPANY WAS SUED FOR 'FRAUD' AFTER 'RECEIVING PROCEEDS' FROM $500M PONZI SCHEME RUN BY BACKSTREET BOYS IMPRESARIO

A top executive at the Internet company hired by Hillary Clinton to manage her private email server is an alleged fraudster who was an executive for one of the most notorious Ponzi fraudsters in recent history.

David DeCamillis is said to have been paid $1.5 million as a director of a company run by Lou Pearlman, the disgraced music impresario who discovered The Backstreet Boys and NSync.

DeCamillis was accused of 14 counts of fraud and one count of unjust enrichment when Pearlman’s business was exposed as a $500 million scam.

DeCamillis then got a job at Denver, Colorado, based Platte River Networks as their vice president of sales and marketing whilst Pearlman began serving a 25 year jail term.

And that brings to mind two questions; how could Hillary, or her staff, NOT have done the "due diligence" to recognise how crooked this guy was, or did they know, and feel he would be "perfect" as the manager for Hillary's email accounts?!?

Either way, having to ask these questions of a woman running for President is troubling, indeed.

‘Deal or war’: Is doomed dollar really behind Obama’s Iran warning?

This is not just about Iran. It is about other major world economies moving away from holding the US dollar as a means of doing business.

In his drastic prediction of war, one might assume that Obama is referring to Israel launching a preemptive military strike on Iran with the backing of US Republicans. Or that he is insinuating that Iran will walk from self-imposed restraints on its nuclear program to build a bomb, thus triggering a war.

But what could really be behind Obama’s dire warning of “deal or war” is another scenario – the collapse of the US dollar, and with that the implosion of the US economy.

That scenario was hinted at this week by US Secretary of State John Kerry. Speaking in New York on August 11, Kerry made the candid admission that failure to seal the nuclear deal could result in the US dollar losing its status as the top international reserve currency.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The story gets even better. Platte River Networks is in legal trouble for stealing US Government phone numbers and in some cases actually interfering with the phone lines themselves, suggesting an espionage operation! Possibly as a means to reduce their own legal difficulties, Platte River Networks has informed officials that the Clinton email server had a clone, to which the entire contents of the server in Clinton;s house were copied before the "sanitation" and deletions began.

Swallowed by the sea: How ten years after Katrina, Louisiana's fishing towns are disappearing into the Gulf of Mexico

Rocky Morales is watching his small Louisiana town of Delacroix slowly melt into the water. The woods where he played hide-and-seek as a boy are gone. It's all water and mud back there now. So, too, is the nearby marsh where townsfolk once trapped for muskrat, otter and mink.

Many of the fishermen who once lived here — his friends and relatives — have disappeared as well, fleeing behind the intricate levee system protecting New Orleans out of fear that one more hurricane will be all it takes to send the rest of Delacroix into the sea.

Ten years after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast - killing more than 1,830 people and causing more than $150billion in damage in the nation's costliest disaster - New Orleans has been fortified by a new $14.5-billion flood protection system.

REVEALED: The very cosy friendship between Iraq inquiry chief and Tony Blair - who knighted him after private meeting in London club

When Tony Blair first appeared before the Iraq inquiry five years ago, the chairman Sir John Chilcot treated him with almost painful deference.

Chilcot, a crumpled figure whose opening remarks lasted seven minutes, never laid a glove on Blair, even though the former prime minister gave evidence for more than six hours.

What few people know is that the bumbling Chilcot, a retired career civil servant, could, in fact, have greeted Blair as an old friend.
