Israeli General: No Civilians in Gaza

Retired Israeli Major General Giora Eiland wrote in an op-ed that there is no such thing as an innocent civilian in Gaza. Late Monday, the former head of the National Security Council published an article on Ynet News arguing that the citizens of Gaza were as responsible for the recent violence as Hamas. He even made a comparison between the Gaza under Hamas and Nazi Germany.

Iron Dome blocked just 8 out of 120 rockets: Israeli military

The Israeli army has admitted that Israel’s Iron Dome missile system intercepted only eight out of nearly 120 rockets that were fired from the Gaza Strip into the occupied Palestinian territories on Sunday.

The military confirmed that around 110 rockets struck the occupied territories.

The development comes as the US Senate on Friday approved an additional USD 225 million in funding for the missile system despite Israel’s deadly war on the Gaza Strip.

Boycott of Israel Spreads in European Civil Society Over Gaza War, Could Cost $5 Billion a Year

The ill-considered and remarkably brutal Gaza war likely will give further impetus to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement by Western civil society to pressure Israel on its illegal actions toward the Palestinians. A thoroughgoing such European set of sanctions could cost Israel as much as $5 bn a year and more. Roughly a third of Israeli trade is with Europe, and the EU is Israel’s largest single trading partner.

Israel/Gaza: U.S. shipment of fuel to Israel's armed forces must be stopped as evidence of Gaza war crimes mounts

Amnesty International is appealing to the US government to immediately halt the transfer of a US fuel shipment currently on its way to Israel for use by the Israeli military. Amnesty has repeatedly called for a comprehensive arms embargo on all parties to the conflict, amid mounting evidence that war crimes have been committed by both sides in the past four weeks in Gaza.

The US government has continued to supply hundreds of thousands of tons of fuel - including fuel for fighter jets and military vehicles - to Israel’s armed forces despite a soaring civilian death toll from aerial and other military attacks. The last US jet fuel delivery arrived in Israel on 14 July, a week after the conflict began. Nine previous shipments were made from the US to Israel during 2013 and 2014. A fuel tanker with the latest US fuel shipment is now sailing past the Azores and is due to arrive in Israel on 12 August.

Webmaster's Commentary:

For years the US Government gun-grabbers have been trying to say that those who provide the guns bear the responsibility for the crimes committed with them. Fine. Let us hold them to that. Palestine is attempting to take Israel to the ICC for war crimes trials. The US Government, as provider of the weapons with which the crimes were committed, should be arrested and sent to the Hague as well.

Israeli Strikes Hit US-Built Schools in Gaza

Three schools in Gaza that were severely damaged by Israeli attacks in recent days were funded by US taxpayers. The Deir El Balah Preparatory Girls School A & B, Beit Hanoun Elementary Co-ed School A & D, and Zaitoun Preparatory Girls School B in Gaza were all funded by the United States through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, according to the UNRWA.

Palestinian FM seeks ICC war crimes case against Israel

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad al-Malki said there was "clear evidence" of war crimes by Israel during its offensive in Gaza as he met International Criminal Court prosecutors on Tuesday to push for an investigation.

Malki visited The Hague shortly after Israel and the Palestinian Islamist Hamas movement that rules Gaza entered a 72-hour truce mediated by Egypt in an effort to pave the way for an extended ceasefire.

Malki said the Palestinian Authority wanted to give the ICC jurisdiction to investigate alleged crimes by all sides and had discussed a timeline with prosecutors to join the court. He did not provide details.

Israel says ground troops out of Gaza as cease-fire takes effect

The Israeli military has said that all of its ground forces have been removed from Gaza as a 72-hour cease-fire went into effect Tuesday.

The truce, agreed upon Monday by Israel and Hamas, took effect at 8 a.m. local time Tuesday (1 a.m. ET). The Times of Israel reported that a barrage of rockets were fired from Gaza minutes before the cease-fire was due to take effect. The paper also reported that Israeli's Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted two rockets over central Israel, while two other rockets fell into open areas in southern Israel near the Gaza border, causing no damage or injuries.

In Gaza City, where streets had been deserted during the war, traffic picked up and shops started opening doors.

Israeli military spokesman Lt. Col. Peter said Israel withdrew all its remaining forces from Gaza on Tuesday after troops neutralized cross-border tunnels that were built for Islamic militant attacks inside Israel.

Israel violated the last two cease fires with missile and F-16 strikes within minutes of the start, so I am not hopeful here.

Prominent Israelis: Israel’s Treatment of Palestinians Is Apartheid

One of the intellectual giants of Israel’s founding generation – Yeshayahu Leibowitz – prophesied:

A state ruling a hostile population of 1.5 million to 2 million foreigners would necessarily become a secret-police state, with all that implies for education, free speech and democratic institutions. The corruption characteristic of every colonial regime would also prevail in the State of Israel. The administration would have to suppress the Arab insurgency on the one hand and acquire Arab quislings on the other. There is also good reason to fear that the Israel Defense Force, which has been until now a people’s army, would, as a result of being transformed into an army of occupation, degenerate, and its commanders, who will have become military governors, resemble their colleagues in other nations.

International community loses patience with Israel actions in Gaza

Israel faced growing international condemnation of its actions in Gaza on Monday after a strike near a UN school sheltering civilians left 10 people dead and sparked widespread outrage.

As Israel's operation in the besieged territory entered its 28th day, the international community appeared to be losing patience with a confrontation the Palestinians say has left more than 1,800 dead in Gaza.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius led the charge, issuing one of the most strongly worded condemnations yet from a Western official.

"How many more deaths will it take to stop... the carnage in Gaza?" Fabius said in a statement.

"Israel's right to security is total, but this right does not justify the killing of children and the slaughter of civilians," Fabius said.

"A political solution is essential... and should in my opinion be imposed by the international community," he said.

Zarif: 40,000 Houses Targeted, 23,000 Destroyed in Gaza in 1 Month

"A sum of 40,000 houses have been targeted in Gaza in the Israeli attacks in the last month, out of which over 23,000 have been nearly destroyed and 17,000 have been completely annihilated," Zarif said, addressing the closing ceremony of the ministerial emergency meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Palestine Committee here in Tehran on Monday evening.

The Iranian foreign minister pointed to his phone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry on the dispatch of medicine and foodstuff to the people of Gaza, and said, "Other contacts at other levels have also been made and today Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian had some detailed talks with his Egyptian counterpart in the same regard."

He pointed to the significant role of the world public opinion in changing decisions of their governments and policy-makers, and said, "A majority of the world people are now supporting Palestinians and are willing to make an effective and practical move to end Israel's aggressions."

He reiterated that NAM members should fight the Zionist regime in the same way they had fought the Apartheid regime in South Africa.

MEGA PUKE FACTOR 9 BEX ALERT - Gaza: Spare Me Your Sick, Manipulative, Dead Baby Propaganda Photos

The boy - no older than five - was on a hospital bed. It must have happened very recently because there was still colour in his face. His eyes were closed and his expression - he can't have seen it coming, thank God - was serene. You might almost have imagined him asleep, if it weren't for the fact that his body was in bits: head and severed torso; an arm; legs and lower body; entrails.

Whoever did this, I thought, is really, really sick.

But I didn't mean the Israelis - who, I imagine, were the people I was expected to blame. Rather, I meant the sicko who scooped up the boy's remains while they were still fresh and insisted on laying them out, like some grotesque jigsaw, in order to snap them artfully for a propaganda shot. And also, all the sickos out there who have been reposting photos like these all over the internet in order to make what they seem to imagine is an unarguable point about Israel's war on Hamas.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Texas Stands with Gaza" -- it's a declaration that was also the name of Saturday's rally at the State Capitol attended by thousands who later marched down Congress to City Hall.

Aya Ayaquvi and her husband Monther Abusultan moved from Gaza a couple of years ago.

"It was really hard. We expected anytime to be killed there," she said.

Just weeks ago, Aya learned her pregnant sister Sumar was killed in an air strike along with her children and other family members in the center of the Gaza Strip.

"It's supposed to be the safest place but they were killed in an air strike. They didn't do anything, they were innocent. They didn't receive any warning before they were killed. I don't know what's happening there. They just want to kill people," Ayaquvi said.

Gaza's morgues are overflowing to such an extent that medics are being forced to pack babies' bodies into ice cream freezers, shocking pictures have revealed.

The United Nations has warned that Gaza's medical facilities are 'on the verge of collapse' with buildings left in ruins and half of medics unable to get to work.

Cash, Weapons and Surveillance: the U.S. is a Key Party to Every Israeli Attack

The U.S. government has long lavished overwhelming aid on Israel, providing cash, weapons and surveillance technology that play a crucial role in Israel’s attacks on its neighbors. But top secret documents provided by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden shed substantial new light on how the U.S. and its partners directly enable Israel’s military assaults – such as the one on Gaza.

Over the last decade, the NSA has significantly increased the surveillance assistance it provides to its Israeli counterpart, the Israeli SIGINT National Unit (ISNU; also known as Unit 8200), including data used to monitor and target Palestinians. In many cases, the NSA and ISNU work cooperatively with the British and Canadian spy agencies, the GCHQ and CSEC.

ISRAELI HARD RIGHT EXPOSE ZIONISMS TRUE AIMS FOR GAZA

I have for these last ten years on this blog been writing that the ultimate goal of right-wing Zionism has always been the creation of a Greater Israel that would ultimately incorporate the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, the Golan Heights and even south Lebanon up to the Litani River if they thought they could get away with it. I have written over the years that it has never been the intention of Israel to allow any form of Palestinian state to exist. Talks about a ‘two state solution’ and ‘Palestinian sovereignty’ have only ever been conducted by Israel in order to appease the West, particularly the US, in order to ensure the continuing flow of aid and support to Israel. There has been an endless parade of ‘talks’ about ‘peace’ over the years.

Brian Eno on the Israel-Gaza crisis: How can you justify images such as this?

Today I saw a picture of a weeping Palestinian man holding a plastic carrier bag of meat. It was his son. He’d been shredded (the hospital’s word) by an Israeli missile attack – apparently using their fab new weapon, fléchette bombs. You probably know what those are – hundreds of small steel darts packed around explosive which tear the flesh off humans. The boy was Mohammed Khalaf al-Nawasra. He was four years old.

I suddenly found myself thinking that it could have been one of my kids in that bag, and that thought upset me more than anything has for a long time.

Then I read that the UN had said that Israel might be guilty of war crimes in Gaza, and they wanted to launch a commission into that. America won’t sign up to it.

Israeli blogger laments that the Gaza war is making her fat.

The blog by Rachel Weinstein, an American who moved to Israel some years ago to make her home, opens thus:

“Try as may, I cannot stop rockets with M&M’s. Hershey’s syrup doesn’t stop the sound of booms, Cocoa Pebbles don’t stop sirens, and chocolate, glory be thy name, doesn’t stop war. I have tried in earnest to employ all of these methods and alas, Operation Tzuk Eitan is still in full swing. My name is Rachel and I am a chocoholic.”

“The longer I sit, the less energy I have. The less energy I have, the less desire to cut open a bag of lettuce instead of plowing through a box of cereal. War really is bad for the waistline but it also wreaks havoc on the mind and soul. And that coupled with a case of ‘I am now one with my chair,’ makes for yet more stress, more anxiety, more poundage, and no clearer end to what’s going on …”

Obama’s ‘helplessness’ an act: Snowden reveals scale of US aid to Israel

The turmoil gripping the Middle East is a direct result of the provision of cash, weapons and surveillance to Israel by the US, the latest Snowden leak illustrates. Obama’s “helpless detachment” is just for show, the Intercept’s Glenn Greenwald writes.

In a bold examination, the former Guardian journalist reveals the amazing contrast between what the United States says publicly, and what it does behind the curtain. This involves President Barack Obama’s apparent heartbreak over the Middle Eastern region, as well as the American love for publicly listing Israel as a threat to regional peace at a time when billions of dollars’ worth of its weaponry and intelligence were being supplied to the Jewish state since the 1960s.

Greenwald has published his analysis of the latest leaked Edward Snowden document of April 12, 2013, wherein it’s explained just how false the notion that the US is a bystander to the Middle Eastern crisis really is.

HOW THE ISRAELI (AND WESTERN) PRESS ARE LYING ABOUT THE SITUATION IN GAZA

“During the night someone launched a rocket somewhere behind the hospital. Now this sentence from my article is spreading in the pro-Israeli medias. Thousands of people have taken to the streets around the world over the weekend to protest Israel’s military operation in the Gaza Strip. The largest demonstrations were held in Australia, France and Chile.

New Israeli airstrike hits Gaza UN school, kills at least 10

Thousands of people gathered for a pro-Palestinian rally in Sydney, Australia on Sunday, calling for an immediate end to the Israeli military operation, which has so far cost the lives of over 1,700 Palestinians and 60 Israelis. They were chanting “Free, free Palestine.”

Many Jewish people around the world don’t support the Israeli crackdown on Gaza, Peter Slezak from Independent Australian Jewish Voices told the Sydney Morning Herald.

"The state of Israel does not represent all Jews,” Slezak said. “I am one of very many Jews who is horrified and deeply ashamed by what the Jewish state is doing in my name. I stand with the people of Gaza and with Palestine as a whole."

In photos: Israeli bombs destroy historic al-Omari mosque in Jabaliya

Israeli forces bombed the historic al-Omari Mosque in the northern Gaza City of Jabaliya on Saturday morning.

The mosque, which is believed to have stood on the same site since 647 AD, was almost completely destroyed in the bombing.

The portico and minaret dated back to the medieval Mamluk period, or at least 500 years.

The mosque stood at the center of Jabaliya and was known as the “Great Mosque” by local residents.

Israel said that their forces had bombed five mosques over night, claiming that “weapons caches and Hamas command and training facilities” were concealed within them.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Okay, then why do we not see these rockets and launchers in the photographs of the wreckage? We spotted the remains of demolition charges in photos of the wreckage of the World Trade Towers (and those were NOT supposed to be there), so where is the evidence that these bombed schools, hospitals, and mosques were being used this way?

IN PHOTOS ~~ 10,000 STRONG MARCH IN NEW YORK MARCH FOR GAZA’S CHILDREN

The continuing slaughter of innocents in Gaza brought a crowd of what one police officer estimated to be 10,000 people into the streets of New York on Friday. They met at the headquarters of CNN and then marched through the crowded theater district to the Fox News Building. At both places they accused the corporate news entities of lying to the public and shouted “Shame!” repeatedly. The crowd was mostly young, multi ethnic, sad, and very angry. The tourists on the streets along Broadway looked astonished and fascinated. They read the signs and explained what was happening to their children. Some gave a thumbs-up and said they were glad to see people out protesting what was happening. It seemed that very many of the demonstrators were young Palestinian Americans who felt a strong tie to the Palestinian people struggling in Palestine and Israel and wanted to express strong feelings of solidarity with them as well as protest the torment that Israel was inflicting.

New Israeli airstrike hits Gaza UN school, kills at least 10 - medics

An Israeli air strike has hit another UN-operated school in Gaza Strip, killing at least 10 people and injuring 35 others, Palestinian health authorities reported.

The missile fired by an Israeli aircraft hit the entrance to the school in the town of Rafah in southern Gaza Strip.

The school served as a shelter for some 3,000 Palestinians amid the ongoing violence in the region, as Israel continues its operation against Hamas.

The Israeli military declined immediate comment on the attack.

Foreign Affairs Minister Baird under fire for Hamas comments

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird has come under fire from Human Rights Watch over comments that “Hamas will be solely to blame for any further loss of life” after a Gaza ceasefire quickly unravelled Friday. In a statement , Mr. Baird said Hamas had violated the ceasefire and that Israel was forced to defend itself. “Hamas has lost all credibility, and we must continue to work to isolate this terrorist organization that values death over peace,” Mr. Baird said.

Human Rights Watch issued its own statement, saying Mr. Baird’s comments amounted to a “green light for more unlawful Israeli attacks that kill civilians.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel broke the cease fire 9 minutes after it started with a missile attack into Gaza. The soldiers "decommissioning" a tunnel inside Gaza were another violation. That Baird is unaware of this only proves his incompetence at his job.

Time to take all these politicians who love Israel so much and ship them over there so our nations can have leaders who serve their own nations first!

Israel is acting as if it is free of moral responsibilities.

I support Israel. I abhor Hamas. But unleashing such devastating firepower on a tiny, densely crowded enclave in which civilians are trapped — and thus destined to become casualties — is wrong by any reasonable moral standard.

The Israeli government’s motivations in Gaza deserve to be taken seriously. But they do not justify the onslaught that is now in its third week. For Israeli military action to be justifiable, it must be proportionate. What we’re witnessing is not.

NYT on why it hasn’t shown photos of Hamas fighters: We don’t have any

Of the 37 images that make up the Times’ most recent three slide shows of photos from the conflict, there’s not a single shot of a Hamas rocket launch (though more than 2,800 rockets have been fired at Israel) or of Hamas fighters using mosques, schools or hospitals as bases of operation.

Why not? After all, Hamas attacks against Israel are crucial to understanding what’s underpinning this conflict.

Here’s what Eileen Murphy, the Times’ vice president for corporate communications, says:

Our photo editor went through all of our pictures recently and out of many hundreds, she found 2 very distant poor quality images that were captioned Hamas fighters by our photographer on the ground. It is very difficult to identify Hamas because they don’t have uniforms or any visible insignia; our photographer hasn’t even seen anyone carrying a gun.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The inescapable conclusion is that Israel is lying about the HAMAS rockets being there in the first place. That is, after all, Israel's official reason for the starvation blockade on Gaza ever since HAMAS won the elections. One may assume that the New York Times, which remains a loyal servant of Israel, would publish every photo they could find of HAMAS fighters in Gaza, their rockets, or the remains of rockets and rocket launchers in the debris of the bombed hospitals and UN schools. The New York Times admits its photographers are looking for such damning images, but simply cannot find them. Daily we are told that the "poor suffering" people of Israel live in fear of HAMAS' rockets, yet the hills above Gaza are filled with Israelis and their picnic baskets, enjoying the slaughter much as the Romans cheered as the Emperor threw the Christians to the lions, apparently unconcerned about the rockets the media claims terrify them.

Likewise, were their actual attacks in Israel creating equivalent damage to what is seen in Gaza the obedient and pro-Israel corporate media would splash it across the papers and TV screens of the world, to offset the political damage arising from the images and videos coming out of Gaza. again, there just isn't any. The claim that tiny Gaza is a threat to the world's sixth largest nuclear power is as phony as the claim that HAMAS kidnapped and killed those three teenagers in the West Bank that Netanyahu used to justify this latest aggression against Gaza, the third in the last six years.

Fool me once...

Reprint of Yochanan Gordon’s “When Genocide is Permissible” (Updated)

I will conclude with a question for all the humanitarians out there. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clearly stated at the outset of this incursion that his objective is to restore a sustainable quiet for the citizens of Israel. We have already established that it is the responsibility of every government to ensure the safety and security of its people. If political leaders and military experts determine that the only way to achieve its goal of sustaining quiet is through genocide is it then permissible to achieve those responsible goals?

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is such a completely, thoroughly abhorrent concept that I almost do not know where to begin; because to embrace genocide as the right and justified answer in the situation between the Israelis against the Palestinians, it becomes a justified solution toward the elimination to minority populations everywhere.

Hitler (so we are told) thoroughly believed that genocide of Jews, Gypsies, and homosexuals was absolutely the right and moral thing to do.

Moral and spiritual people around the world condemned these practices as thoroughly horrific and inhuman, as well they should, and as we in the 21st century should be roundly condemning the genocide which has been visited upon the Palestinian people by the Israeli government.

Advocating genocide against ANYONE is like putting lipstick on a pig; no matter how fancy the ideological clothing or makeup you put on an abhorrent concept like this, at the end of the day, it is still a pig of an idea, and should be treated as such by thinking people.

Some Israeli Ground Forces 'Withdraw From Gaza'

The Israeli military appears to be winding down its ground operations in Gaza, amid reports that some troops and tanks have begun to withdraw.

Two Israeli television stations reported that some ground forces began pulling back from the Gaza Strip on Saturday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So now the people of Gaza will start to rebuild their lives again and two or three years from now Israel will gin up some other excuse to come back in and smash it all.

Israel's morality is that of a small child who likes to knock over ant hills just to see the ants scramble.

There is no question that Israel's military might, paid for by the US taxpayers despite overwhelming taxpayer opposition to their money being spent this way, prevailed against Gaza. How could it not? Israel has F-16s, tanks, drones, guided missiles and bombs; the very latest high-tech weaponry to fling mass death onto a people trapped inside an open-air gulag without an army, navy, or air force, trying to fight back with unguided rockets cobbled together from plumbing supplies. Victory is always assured against an unarmed, trapped and helpless people.

There is also no question that Israel lost this war in terms of world public opinion. While Israel's bought-and-paid for governments and bought-and-paid for media have tried to sell Israel's moral rightness to the world, they have utterly failed. Israeli General Moshe Dyan once stated that "Israel must be like a mad dog", and today the entire world sees Israel as a mad dog for its repeated aggressions against its neighbors.

As for the corporate media, this was supposed to be their finest moment of propaganda; their shining victory in proving that they are still in control of what the general population is thinking. That too went down to defeat. The media and the politicians are realizing that the days when they would tell us what to think and what to believe are really and truly over. Hopefully they will adapt and adjust to than new reality. To fail to do so leads to their extinction.

For all of its suffering. the people of Gaza have won a huge victory for all of the people of planet Earth against those who would presume to enslave our minds with lies, deceptions, and frauds.

Obama Calls on Hamas to Release Kidnapped Soldier

U.S. President Barack Obama on Friday called on Hamas to unconditionally release Second Lieutenant (Platoon Leader) Hadar Goldin, who is feared kidnapped in Gaza.

Releasing Goldin, Obama said in a statement, would show that Hamas is serious about a ceasefire.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Every time I think the President has hit the bottom in terms of bald-faced lying, he sets a new low for pure USDA choice bovine excrement.

1. There is no evidence that Goldin was captured by HAMAS. If they had him, they would use him as a bargaining chip. Given Israel's long history of deceptions, I suspect that Goldin is actually relaxing in a four-star resort somewhere on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean, courtesy of the Israeli government (and paid for by the US taxpayers).

2. The word "kidnapped" is dishonest in the extreme. Goldin was a combatant inside Gaza destroying a tunnel in violation of the supposed cease fire (which Israel had already violated by sending missile into Southern Gaza 9 minutes after the cease fire started. Goldin is a prisoner of war, not a kidnap victim.

3. This is the same deception Israel pulled back in 2006 when they sent two uniformed IDF soldiers across the border into Lebanon into the village of Aitaa al-Chaab, where they were promptly captured. Israel, aided by the corporate media, declared Lebanon to be at fault for the "kidnapping", and launched their attack for the Litani River.

4. If you, Barry, are serious about prisoners being released, then it is time for you to release those prisoners in Guantanamo and elsewhere who you just ADMITTED have been tortured by the US to find Saddam's non-existent nuclear weapons or provide politically useful confessions. The military tribunal has already admitted that at least 1/3 of those prisoners are innocent of any wrongdoing against the United States are were sent to be tortured for the bounty money being offered by the US. Should not these people be released before we talk about an Israeli POW captured during an act of war?

How do you justify such hypocrisy, Barry?

How?

Netanyahu Tells U.S. 'Not To Ever Second Guess Me Again' On Hamas

Following the quick collapse of the cease-fire in Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the White House not to force a truce with Palestinian militants on Israel.

Sources familiar with conversations between Netanyahu and senior U.S. officials, including Secretary of State John Kerry, say the Israeli leader advised the Obama administration "not to ever second guess me again" on the matter. The officials also said Netanyahu said he should be "trusted" on the issue and about the unwillingness of Hamas to enter into and follow through on cease-fire talks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation of Netanyahuspeak:

1. Keep sending us the money and weapons, even though according to US law, such acts are illegal, under the Symington Amendment.

2. Let me slaughter and maim as many Palestinians as I think are necessary to slaughter, particularly the women and children, because that causes the demographic advantage Palestinians have over Israelis to be ratcheted down, at least a little.

3. Don't ever try to pressure us to do what we don't want to do, or otherwise, we will tell the world who the real perpetrators of 9/11 actually were.

IF President Obama had ANY "male attributes" whatsoever, he would, right now, stop ALL funding of all weapons and economic programs to Israel, until Netanyahu's government went back to the bargaining table with Hamas.

But unfortunately, he doesn't, so this genocide will continue just as long as Israel wants it to go on, which will down to the last Palestinian standing.

And for the Israeli government, Palestinian genocide is infinitely preferable that actually negotiating a just and lasting peace.

How the Kidnapping of an Israeli Soldier Could Change the Course of the Conflict

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Kidnapping?" Are you guys on DRUGS?!?

This is the same bovine excrement Israel pulled back in 2006 when they sent two uniformed IDF soldiers across the border into Lebanon into the village of Aitaa al-Chaab, where they were promptly captured. Israel, aided by the corporate media, declared Lebanon to be at fault for the "kidnapping", and launched their attack for the Litani River.

There is no evidence that HAMAS captured this soldier. One may assume that had they done so, they would announce the fact to demonstrate their prowess against the Israelis, but HAMAS has reported they have no idea where this man is. Personally, I think he is relaxing in a four-star hotel on the coast of the Mediterranean, courtesy of the Israeli government (and paid for by the US taxpayer).

Congress approves $225 million in funding for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system

The US Congress approved $225 million for Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile defense system, credited with destroying missiles fired by Hamas before they could reach their targets.

House of Representatives approved the funding by 395-8 in a late Friday vote. The Senate earlier approved the measure unanimously before the start of its five week summer recess.

The measure now awaits President Barack Obama’s signature.

The emergency spending funds, which adds to the US deficit, will restock Israel’s Iron Dome system with interceptor missiles.

The funding is part of the administration’s request of $3.1 billion for military assistance to Israel, the world’s largest beneficiary of US foreign aid.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Enablers of genocide is what the US Congress has become, through its generous financial aid to Israel, while homeless Vets sleep in our streets; our infrastructure crumbles, and homeless encampments spread, courtesy of outsourcing/offshoring.

The country of Israel is pathologically incapable of reaching a negotiated settlement with the Palestinians, and look for every opportunity to slaughter them with impunity, because they want all the land, from the Nile to the Euphrates.

If the Palestinians can be obliterated completely, which is the government of Israel's goal, then the land upon which the Palestinians have been living for centuries will no longer be contested.

It is just that simple. This is Israel's "Final Solution" to their "Palestinian Problem."

Israel: A cornered rat

Israel is strong, mighty, invincible. Israel has truckloads of nuclear weapons. Israel has cluster bombs, DIME munitions, white phosphorous, and other illegal or experimental weapons with which it can kill and maim as many Palestinian civilians as it likes.

Israel is especially proficient at mass-murdering children. Israel constantly reminds us that it can exercise the "Samson option" and drop nuclear weapons on the capitals of Europe and the Middle East. Israel has even colonized America, the world's most powerful nation, exacting billions of dollars a year in tribute. What a stunningly prepotent entity! The world stands in awe of the great and terrible Israel.

That, at least, is what the Israelis would have us believe.

But it is just an illusion. Israel is not behaving like a confidently powerful nation. Instead, it is desperately lashing out like a cornered rat in the final throes of rabies.

FLSHBACK - IF I WERE THE GOVERNMENT....

Sun Tzu, in "The Art Of War", comments that all war is based on deception. he people of an invading nation have to be deceived into thinking that they act in their own self defense; that they are the ones to have been attacked. The United States government has a long history of using such deceptions to start wars, from claiming that the USS Maine, sunk by a coal bin fire, was sunk by a Spanish mine, to the Gulf Of Tonkin and the torpedoes which never were, to Operation NORTHWOODS, in which the Joint Chiefs planned to stage fake terror attacks to manufacture American support for a war against Cuba.

The present government of the United States NEEDS the American people to be afraid, to be blindly afraid, to react and respond, and not to reason. There is only one way for the government to achieve this, through a phony terror attack such as those planned by Operation NORTHWOODS, and I greatly fear that we will see one in the very near future.

FLASHBACK - Israeli Spying: The Mother of all Scandals

At the heart of the investigation are two people who work at The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a powerful pro-Israel lobby in Washington. The FBI investigation, headed up by Dave Szady, has involved wiretaps, undercover surveillance and photography that CBS News was told document the passing of classified information from the mole, to the men at AIPAC, and on to the Israelis.

CBS sources say that last year the suspected spy, described as a trusted analyst at the Pentagon, turned over a presidential directive on U.S. policy toward Iran while it was, "in the draft phase when U.S. policy-makers were still debating the policy." Britain's mad-house foreign policy

Stuart Littlewood highlights Britain's double standards and contradictory policies in the Middle East: on the one hand irrational belligerence and warmongering towards Iran even though this is contrary to British national interests, and on the other cosying up to and taking its cue from Israel, a criminal, aggressive state whose behaviour contradicts British values and interests.

Israel set to uproot 30,000 of its own Bedouin citizens

Neve Gordon explains why Israel's plans to move entire communities of its own Bedouin citizens from their ancestral lands in the Negev and put them in townships will deprive them of their livelihood and land rights.

”I asked Abu Afash what he thinks will happen if they do not reach an agreement with the government. He paused for a moment and then replied that … ‘they will not put us on buses and move us, they will simply shut down the schools and wait. When we see we cannot send our children to school we will “willingly" move’.

“This is how forced relocation becomes voluntary and how Israel will likely represent it to the world.” (Neve Gordon)

US aid to Israel: 115 billion dollars

New data shows Washington has given more than 115 billion dollars in financial aid to Israel over the years, indicating Tel Aviv’s great dependence on the US.

According to the report published by the Congressional Research Service Israel has received more assistance from the US than 15 European countries did to recover from the devastation caused during World War II...

Israel asks US for $700 million in military aid

The Iron Dome is designed to intercept rockets fired from a relatively short range, while the Magic Wand intercepts missiles fired from a range of at least 70km, including cruise missiles and missiles with ballistic warheads such as the Squd, Shihab and Sejil.

According to sources privy to the deal, Jerusalem and Washington are currently discussing the aid package, which if approved will allow Israel to equip its defense apparatus with four additional Iron Dome batteries and accelerate the completion of the Magic Wand system, which is still under development.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have an issue which is puzzling me, and something perhaps someone in the White House, State Department, or Pentagon could possibly address for me, and for the American people.

According to the Symington Amendment, it is illegal for the US government to give any financial or military aid to any country which has nuclear weapons, and refuses to be a signatory to the NNPT.

Israel refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, and has a well-documented nuclear arsenal. So why is the US government continuing to fund Israel, both militarily and financially, when such aid is illegal, under US law?!?

Israeli troops destroy four Palestinian homes and 52 electricity pylons

It is just now breaking that Israeli forces have razed four homes of Palestinians along with 52 electricity pylons near the town of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian witnesses and a correspondent for AFP.

The AFP correspondent reported that this demolition left the residents in the area without any electricity, which could have many negative impacts on the quality of life of these besieged peoples.

These activities are hardly surprising given that the state of Israel recently spat in the face of the international community by refusing to cooperate with a probe conducted by the United Nations Human Rights Council and banning them from entering to investigate illegal settlements.

Spying on the Spies

If the Israelis have access to this comprehensive monitoring system, via an electronic “back door,” this means personal information could be readily passed around and used to discredit Israel’s perceived enemies in the US. Can fear be a big part of the explanation for the free pass given to Israel’s covert activities – fear of blackmail?

Oh, so you’re a vocal opponent of Israel’s policies in Palestine? Listen buddy, do we have a thick dossier on you! You’d better shut up – or else. What will your wife say when she sees that email – complete with lurid attachment – you sent the other night?

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF you had been reading this blog, you would have been aware of the depths of Israeli spying in the US for quite some time, and of Israel's efforts to utterly destroy the credibility of anyone critical of their policies toward the Palestinians.

INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT DENIES JUSTICE TO PALESTINE

The International Criminal Court will not investigate Israel’s conduct during its December 2008 offensive on Gaza because Palestine is not a state, the world prosecutor said Tuesday.

In a statement, the ICC prosecutor acknowledged that over 130 countries and some UN bodies recognize Palestine as a state.

But, Palestine still holds observer status in the UN, and so the ICC cannot at this time investigate allegations of war crimes committed on Palestinian territory, the prosecutor said.

Freedom of Speech Except When It Comes to Israel

It would be funny if it wasn't so creepy. An author or journalist can write anything he wants about the United States -- or, in fact, about any foreign country -- without causing legions of critics to question the propriety of his doing so. That is, unless the subject of the author's work is Israel.

Think about it. Books have accused FDR of having advance knowledge of Pearl Harbor while others argue that the U.S. government -- in the form of the FBI, CIA or even Vice President Lyndon Johnson -- had President Kennedy killed. In other words, books that accuse U.S. presidents and U.S. government agencies of high treason are okay. This is America, and authors, journalists and bloggers can write what they like. (So long as it isn't libelous.)

Bail for couple charged in Hutt art scam

Alessandra Frigero-Briones, 33, of Chile, and Eliyahu Daniel Shafir, 23, of Israel, appeared at Upper Hutt District Court this afternoon charged with two counts each of obtaining by deception on April 2. The amount totalled $750.

Both were to surrender their passports to the court and cannot apply for any new passports or travel documents. Frigero-Briones and Shafir both entered no plea and will appear again on April 18.

Police said earlier that three alleged scammers in the Silverstream area were attempting to sell artwork door-to-door and were leading buyers to believe the works were worth much more than they were.

Spying on the Spies

Israeli spying in the US is a topic the government, and the news media, don’t like to talk about, and yet the GAO has stated [.pdf] the Israelis run the “most aggressive espionage operation against the United States of any US ally” and that “classified military information and sensitive military technologies are high-priority targets for the intelligence agencies of this country.”

In view of this, a new Wired report that Israeli companies are a key link in the government’s top secret high-tech spying operation, code-named “Stellar Wind,” is sure to raise eyebrows.

REWRITING THE BIBLE IN ISRAEL

When you shall besiege a city a long time, and wage war to capture it, you shall not destroy its trees by wielding an ax against fruit trees… Only the trees which you know are not trees for food, you may destroy and cut them down to build siege machinery against the city waging war with you. FLASHBACK - Most Members of Congress Remain Committed to Israel’s Blockade of Gaza

Administration officials and Washington lawmakers indicated the United States is not willing to urge Israel to lift its blockade of Gaza, even as activists seek to highlight the issue after civilian deaths during Israel’s interception of a Gaza-bound flotilla.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With the recent release of the United Nations Human Rights Council report condemning the brutal Israeli attack on the flotilla and declaring the blockade of Gaza a violation of international law, every single member of the United States Government who supports that blockade is an accessory after-the-fact in a violation of international law. How much longer will we live in a nation run by criminals willing to subvert the laws for Israel's gains?

Back in 1948 and 1949, the USSR imposed a blockade on West Berlin to starve that nation into abandoning their elected leaders and accepting Soviet rule. This is identical to the situation in Gaza where Israel is trying to starve the Palestinians into abandoning their elected leaders and accepting Israeli rule.

But back in 19648, we had a far more moral and principled government that had the spine to stand up for what is right, and the US and its allies launched the Berlin Airlift, flying 200,000 flights into Berlin, delivering 13,000 tons of goods per day for a year until the blockade collapsed.

Oh to have real leaders like that again!

"On the radio talk shows and T.V.
You hear one thing again and again
How the U.S.A. stands for freedom
And we come to the aid of a friend

But who are the ones that we call our friends
These governments killing their own?
Or the people who finally can't take anymore
So they pick up a gun, or a brick, or a stone

And there are lives in the balance
There are people under fire
There are children at the cannons

And there is blood on the wire..."

ISRAEL: THE MAPS TELL THE TRUE STORY

The truth is that far from being the poor victim it likes to portray itself as, Israel is in fact the most aggressive and belligerent nation in the region, having invaded pretty much everyone it shares a border with.

The following maps show what Israel has actually done.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Re-posted in light of Israel's latest bombing of Gaza, preceded by the traditional Israeli false-flag to justify it.
