US Oil Celebrates Election of Former Nigerian Dictator

A massive series of NATO War Games simulations took place at the Operation Flintlock 2015 AFRICOM Conference, where thousands of US and African soldiers began intensive training programs. As the conference concluded, Boko Haram declared its allegiance with ISIS. Major media latched onto that story and ran with it like a constipated greyhound. A report published by one of the world’s largest audit, tax, and advisory firms, KPMG Africa, a subsidiary of KPMG International, outlined in explicit detail the plans and tax incentives of razing the impoverished and unstable region for oil and natural gas.

On Easter no less! He's back!

“A lot of people think of the Islamic State as a terrorist group, and it’s not useful,” Hassan said. “It is a terrorist group, but it is more than that. It is a homegrown Iraqi insurgency, and it is organic to Iraq.”

US Court of Appeals upholds discriminatory ruling against transit ads critical of Israel - See more at: http://mondoweiss.net/2015/03/discriminatory-transit-critical?utm_source=Mondoweiss+List&utm_campaign=be0967c863-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&ut

The ongoing saga began when King County Metro approved SeaMAC’s ads in 2010 and then abruptly canceled the contract before the ads were displayed. The Metro claimed that threats of vandalism, including the warning that “Jews would take physical action” against the ads, could disrupt transit service. Since then the county metro system has claimed to take a “viewpoint neutral” policy of rejecting all ads relating to Israel/Palestine as part of an effort to ban debate of public issues in bus ads, but it undertook a “quiet policy change” to accommodate ads by Islamophobe Pamela Geller. The court’s decision supports this double standard which has in practice endorsed Geller’s views while censoring SeaMAC’s.
Note: This is standard operating procedure to cancel ads or events because of threats that violence may erupt. Never have those who threaten informed that the law will be upheld and they will be jailed.

Yemen – the Big Picture

As usual, western media are deliberately confusing in communicating on the latest Mid-East conflict which eventually led to the recent atrocious bombing of Yemen by the US-directed Saudi alliance, including Qatar and other Gulf monarchies. They are proxies, to be sure, for their Washington masters. My heart is bleeding for Yemen, a country of warm and generous people I got to know well, working with them in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Yemen, like Ukraine, is just another square on the geopolitical chess board which the exceptional nation aims to dominate.

It is certainly true, where ever the US and its NATO cronies put their heavy boots, they create lasting misery and chaos

US-Israel Wage War on Iran in Syria

The ongoing conflict in Syria has always been a proxy conflict aimed at Iran, as well as nearby Russia, and more distant China. As far back as 2007, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh warned in his 9-page New Yorker report “The Redirection Is the Administration’s new policy benefitting our enemies in the war on terrorism?,” that a region-wide sectarian war was being engineered by the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel – all of whom were working in concert even in 2007, to build the foundation of a sectarian militant army.

Raimondo: The Iran Deal

It’s a good one – but can it survive the US Congress?

Israel has been threatening to attack Iran unilaterally for years, including during these negotiations, and they are not above launching a provocation – one that will ignite a conflict that would envelope the entire Middle East and much of the world.

As I said in my last column, the US Congress is the catch, the fly in the ointment that could nix this deal and lead us down the path to another war in the Middle East. Nothing has been signed. What we have is a framework, one that will lead to a fuller agreement in June – if Congress doesn’t step in and stop it.

As California’s record drought continues, Gov. One group not facing restrictions under the new rules is big agriculture, which uses about 80 percent of California’s water. The group Food & Water Watch California has criticized Brown for not capping water usage by oil extraction industries and corporate farms, which grow water-intensive crops such as almonds and pistachios, most of which are exported out of state and overseas.

The Political Revolution We Desperately Need

The good news is that the economy today is much better than it was six years ago when George W. Bush left office. The bad news is that, despite these improvements, the 40-year decline of the American middle class continues. Real unemployment is much too high, 35 million Americans continue to have no health insurance and more of our friends and neighbors are living in poverty than at almost any time in the modern history of our country.

Good News and Bad News

For Israel, there's good news and bad news after Iran deal

Although Iran's nuclear project will be monitored for at least a decade, the deal also grants it recognition as a power to be reckoned with.

HAARETZ: The framework agreement crafted Thursday in Lausanne between Iran and the world powers is a historic step. After nearly 13 years of on-and-off negotiations, a deal aims to stop the progress of Iran’s nuclear program for an extended period.
***
From an Israeli perspective, the relatively good news is that Iran’s nuclear project will be monitored for at least a decade. For now, it seems that during this time Iran’s chances of developing a nuclear weapon will decline significantly.
***
The bad news is not only that Iran’s economy, which has taken a double-barreled blow from both sanctions and declining oil prices, is expected to recover quickly, but that Iran has also achieved recognition from the world powers for two elements it greatly needs. The powers now acknowledge, indirectly, that Iran is a nuclear threshold state, and no less importantly, they accept Iran as a force to be reckoned with throughout the Middle East.

Palestinians clash with Daesh in Yarmouk Camp

Intense clashes continue between Palestinian armed factions and Daesh, who took over most of the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk near the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Daesh militants stormed the camp on April 1, apparently in tandem with rivals from the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front, even though the two groups have fought bloody battles against each other in other parts of Syria.

The terrorists attacked Yarmouk, home to Palestinian refugees since 1957 and located on the edge of the Syrian capital, in an attempt to kill a reconciliation deal between Palestinian armed factions inside the camp and more moderate groups seeking to keep the site away from the crisis in Syria.

Missouri Republicans are trying to ban food stamp recipients from buying steak and seafood

In 2013, Fox News proudly broadcast an interview with a young food stamp recipient who claimed to be using the government benefit to purchase lobster and sushi.
"This is the way I want to live and I don’t really see anything changing," Jason Greenslate explained to Fox. “It’s free food; it’s awesome."
That story fit a longtime conservative suspicion that poor people use food stamps to purchase luxury items. Now, a Republican state lawmaker in Missouri is pushing for legislation that would stop people like Greenslate and severely limit what food stamp recipients can buy. The bill being proposed would ban the purchase with food stamps of "cookies, chips, energy drinks, soft drinks, seafood or steak."

We Are NOT Charlie Hebdo: Free Thinkers Question the French 9/11 (new book)

Only one version of the Charlie Hebdo affair made the mainstream media: "Muslim extremists kill cartoonists and Jews." An officially-orchestrated response - "je suis Charlie" - followed.

But is there another side to the story?

Disturbing facts quickly emerged. Politicians, big media, the security industry, and arms manufacturers all rushed to cash in. And freedom of speech in France – the supposed target of the terrorists – was rolled back by the French government. Even as millions marched for Charlie, millions more sensed that something was very, very wrong.

In We Are Not Charlie Hebdo, twenty leading public intellectuals refuse the invitation to identify with "Je Suis Charlie." Jews, Muslims, Christians, Protestants, Catholics, atheists, people of the left and right, progressives and traditionalists, people from many different countries and ethnicities – all have united to say "we are NOT Charlie Hebdo." Most suspect the whole affair was a false flag operation or psy-op. (Evidence for that interpretation is presented in the book.) Others merely dissent from the official, mythic false consensus.

The Global siege on Israel: a report from the World Social Forum

The closing of this multi-billion-dollar company can be one of the greatest BDS victories yet.

In June, 2010, when Israeli forces attacked unarmed aid ships of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, killing ten passengers (including one who died this year from injuries), dockworkers around the world refused to unload or load Israeli ships or cargo.

Based on the results in the US, we believe that if ten ports worldwide are closed to Zim, the company’s losses may cause it to close its doors. If Zim and the state of Israel are worried that this movement may become infectious, we can all be proud to spread the virus.

Shattered — Nothing is Right in the Middle East

The West worked very hard to turn the Middle East into what it is now. It took centuries to transfigure this culturally deep and great part of the world into the horror show. But it is done!

There is nothing, absolutely nothing right in the Middle East these days. There seems to be no hope left, and no fervor. All that was pure was dragged through filth. All that was great here was stolen or smashed by the outsiders. Enthusiasm had been ridiculed, then drowned, or burned to ashes, or shattered by tanks and missiles.

The Wars of Iran

The modern nation of Iran is also known throughout much of history as the ancient nation of Persia. This is the same Persia which overran the Spartans at Thermopylae; the same Persia which fell to the conquering Macedonian, Alexander the Great; the same Persia which fought the Romans and their successors the Byzantines for centuries for dominance in the Near East. This is also the same Persia which fell rather easily to the expanding Arab Muslim Empire led by the successors to Islam's founder, the Prophet Muhammad.

Arab-Israeli Wars and Conflicts (1948-Present)

This page shows conflicts between the Arab nations (as a group), and Israel. As a rule, a legal state of war has existed between Israel and her Arab enemies since the beginning of the first war in 1948. Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1979, and Jordan made peace in 1994. The Palestine Authority, headed by Yassir Arafat and his Al-Fatah faction of the Palestine Liberation Organization negotiated a semi-peace, which, from mid-2000 on, has been destroyed through the “Al-Aqsa” Intifada violence. Other Palestinian groups, most notably Hamas, have been at war with Israel continuously. Although Israel and most Arab nations are technically in a continuous state of war, unless otherwise noted, specific outbreaks of fighting are considered to be separate wars.

FLASHBACK:A Brief History of U.S. Interventions: 1945 to the Present

The engine of American foreign policy has been fueled not by a devotion to any kind of morality, but rather by the necessity to serve other imperatives, which can be summarized as follows:
* making the world safe for American corporations;
* enhancing the financial statements of defense contractors at home who have contributed generously to members of congress;
* preventing the rise of any society that might serve as a successful example of an alternative to the capitalist model;
* extending political and economic hegemony over as wide an area as possible, as befits a "great power."

$1 Billion Lawsuit: Government Funded Studies Intentionally Infected People with STDs

This is why people cannot deny that there is likely unethical government experimentation going on against at least segments of the population as we speak. This is the kind of stuff our government has historically done quite often. Uncle Sam has a long, documented history of playing science God on the public without their consent or knowledge that stretches back to at least the 1930s on record. The saddest part isn’t even that this monstrosity took place anymore, it is how the government itself, its various agencies and the private entities involved, are kicking the can back and forth down the road on guilt, while they were all clearly involved in some of the most unethical and disgusting crimes against humanity that there are.

ARMING FOR RIOTS ACROSS AMERICA? HOMELAND STOCKPILING “LESS LETHAL SPECIALTY MUNITIONS”

Riot police of the Western world have recently come up against a succession of formidable threats. In Frankfurt for instance, German authorities were forced to square off against a legion of angry clowns who, in an effort to express their displeasure at austerity measures advocated by the ECB (which was at the time celebrating the completion of their new Frankfurt headquarters), set quite a few things on fire. Meanwhile, in the mean streets of Montreal, an “association of young communists” forgot to provide authorities with a protest itinerary, which led police to settle the matter with rubber bullets and sound bombs. Finally, in Quebec City, riot police were accosted by dozens of students who wanted, among other things, for the library to stay open longer, leaving authorities with no choice but to show protesters the meaning of “crowd control” via point-blank tear gas gun assaults.

Webmaster's Commentary:

First thing that you need to know is that the U.S. Constitution would be “suspended”.

In other words, you would suddenly have no rights at all.

There would be no freedom of speech, no freedom of the press, no freedom of assembly and you could be arrested at any time for any reason whatsoever.

For the duration of the “emergency”, the military would be in control. There would be troops in the streets, a curfew would almost certainly be imposed, and armed checkpoints would be set up.

If the “emergency” lasted long enough, we would probably see authorities go house to house confiscating firearms, ammunition and food supplies.

A Bad Case of Cliff Notes Influenza.

The greater wars abroad, pale by comparison with the less obvious wars for human attention and programmed information. It doesn't get much worse than Political Correctness. Political Correctness is a creation out of the Communist matrix. Who was and is behind Communism? They are also behind Political Correctness. Political Correctness is the psychological enforcement arm of operative Communism, as it is funneled into social venues, into the education system, camouflaged in music and movies which are as not politically correct as it can get. Why would popular culture, generated out of the cesspool of poisoned minds, manifest in visible violation of all their other efforts to the contrary? It is applied schizophrenia as a business model for social and political control.

Roosevelt's 1937 Warning Ignored: “The nation that destroys its soil destroys itself.”

The soils are poisoned with chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and allowed to wash away from overfarming, overgrazing, and erosion. Once teeming with life, our prairies and grasslands are being turned into lifeless dust fields.

The PBS documentary “SOS: Save our Soil,” part of its Food Forward series,1 highlights a few “food rebels” who are finding innovative ways to create a more sustainable food system, including making humus compost out of grass stubble and turning chicken litter into biochar.

The top six inches of soil are the most precious yet least understood ecosystem on Earth. In order to appreciate its importance to our very survival, you first must understand the role carbon plays in maintaining the ecological balance of our entire planet.

Conventional agriculture that relies on tilling and monocrops decimates the top soil and is responsible for massive losses every year. So much so that some predict that most of the topsoil in the US will be lost in the next two generations.

The Lonely Clinton Campaign

The candidacy of Ted Cruz, possible encores by Rick Perry, Mike Huckabee, and Rick Santorum, the emergence of Rand Paul, and a “center” represented by Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, and even Lindsey Graham may induce Romney nostalgia for horror-struck Democrats. But it’s a race that’s bound to become ever more compelling, possibly with more candidates (Ben Carson? Carly Fiorina?), and the contenders will be sharpened in the process. They’re looking for a contender, just as the Democrats were eight years ago, when debates and primaries altered early perceptions that Clinton, or possibly Edwards, was bound to win.

Democrats, meanwhile, seem ready to cede the whole thing to Clinton

West's ties with Russia frozen after year of Ukraine conflict

Relations between the West and Russia remain at their lowest since the Cold War, on the first anniversary of the start of the Ukraine conflict. But all bridges have not yet been burned, analysts say.

Washington and Brussels have imposed sanctions as part of a sea change in ties with Moscow, while a defiant Vladimir Putin has rejected accusations of Russian involvement in the fighting.

A fragile ceasefire has now held in Ukraine since February, but Europe's relationship with Russia is stuck in the deep freeze.

Argentina threatens legal action against Britain over drilling for oil on coast of Falkland Islands

"We want the owners of the companies to be tried according to Argentine laws and international statutes.”
***
Argentina is seeking to renew a 2013 reform of a hydrocarbons law that states penalty fines and lengthy prison sentences can be levied on company executives who orchestrate the search and harvest of natural resources without permission from the government.

It was announced last month that Britain will spend £280m over the next 10 years on renewing and strengthening Falkland forces, by the Secretary of State for Defence Michael Fallon.

This declaration was fiercely slapped down by Argentine President Cristina Fernandez, who said on Thursday that Britain should focus on fighting poverty instead of increasing the amount spent on defence.

(*especially when it appears that the defense of the oil drilling operation is where Britain is going with this .)

8 Things Vietnam War Movies Leave Out (By an Enemy Soldier)

Even if your knowledge of the Vietnam War comes exclusively from Hollywood films and Texan textbooks that only refer to it as "that one the good guys lost," you've probably heard about the Viet Cong. Here's another: #8. We Weren't All Communists; We Just Wanted Independence, or Revenge......

Teacher To Children: Your Parent ‘Is Not A Christian’ If They Support Obama

There are a few things, which any logical person should know, that are not appropriate for teachers to mention to their middle school students. Sharing their partisan political beliefs is one of them. Speaking as if their own religion is superior is another. Informing the kids that their parents aren’t Christian if they support President Obama is a third. Sadly, a Georgia teacher hit the trifecta, but the insanity of this story didn’t stop there.

India Becomes First Country to Approve Weaponized Drones For Crowd Control

Nicholas West

The evolution of "non-lethal" weapons has been disturbing enough (and actually lethal in many cases), but speculation that this developing arsenal would be attached to drones has generally been met with accusations of fear-mongering.

However, the recent announcement that India (a constitutional republic) has now green-lighted drones for controlling "unruly crowds" in its northern capital Lucknow should get any skeptic's attention...

U.S. Bank et al. got smacked in the Bankruptcy Court and now appeals. Plaintiff/Appellee Attorney Richard Jones asks "If I provide documents to this Court which contained material misrepresentations, would this Court let me off the hook?"

Judge Martinez:
"At what point does the Magistrate have an affirmative duty to investigate the veracity of these documents that are put before it?"

Richard Jones, Esq.:"Under the Deed of Trust Act strict compliance is required. Substantial compliance is insufficient. The problem Judge Overstreet was facing is NWTS did not even have procedure to investigate. That is material and goes to the Public Impact -- they were flying blind" (as admitted by Jeff Stenman -- see Ha Dao Jeff Stenman videos at Affordable Video Depo).

Earth receiving mysterious radio signals from outer space; alien life source a possibility, believe astronomers

Is it possible that Earth is receiving signals from outer space which could be that of some extra terrestrial life source? A new research paper has not ruled out this possibility.

The paper dated 30 March 2015 is titled Discrete Steps in Dispersion Measures Of Fast Radio Bursts. It explores the origin behind recent radio signals from space and considers "an artificial source (human or non-human)," as a possible source.
