France bans the sale of glyphosate

France is the latest country to ban the private sale of Monsanto’s favorite carcinogen – glyphosate. France has been in the alternative news quite a bit lately, asking the makers of Nutella to stop using palm oil, insisting all new rooftops be covered in solar panels or plants, and mandating the donation of all supermarket food waste. This new move by their Ecology Minister is the latest result of their forward thinking.

Google's Self-Driving Cars Will Have the Added Bonus of Targeting You with Ads Based on Your Location

It's already being claimed that in just 25 years, almost no one will even own their own car. As more and more people are pushed into large urban centers, it is theorized that most will use public transportation services, such as the driverless car.

Question: just how private do you think your ride in a driverless car will really be?

Audi boss Chief Executive Rupert Stadler, as reported by Daily Mail, recently warned that software-driven, self-driving cars will have the capability to monitor and target people with advertisements based on their location while traveling in them down the street.

All sort of things in these negotiations are going on behind the scenes, not only between the P5+1 and Iran but between the Western allies as well.

IMF and USA set to ruin Ghana

Just ten years ago, Ghana had the most reliable electricity supply in all of Africa and the highest percentage of households connected to the grid in all of Africa – including South Africa. The Volta River Authority, the power producer and distributor was, in my very considerable experience, the best run and most efficient public utility in all of Africa. Indeed it was truly world class, and Ghana was proud of it.

Obviously the sight of truly successful public owned and run enterprise was too much of a threat to the neo-liberal ideologues of the IMF and World Bank. When Ghana needed some temporary financial assistance (against a generally healthy background) the IMF insisted that VRA be broken up. Right wing neoliberal dogma was applied to the Ghanaian electricity market. Electricity was separated between production and distribution, and private sector Independent Power Producers introduced.

The result is disaster.

Craig Murray: official line of a lone gunman in Tunisian attack is a lie.

I knew with certainty that the BBC and official line of a lone gunman being responsible for the Tunisian attacks was a lie, because one of the victims of one of the “other” gunmen was my dear niece Kirsty.

We had a terrible day of the attack, because for hours Kirsty was simply missing. I was the whole day on the phone to the FCO and Tunisian authorities, and we feared the worst. My brothers Neil (Kirsty’s dad) and Stuart managed to get out to Tunisia that very day. The only thought that we had was Kirsty’s safety. Thankfully she has been (strange to say in the circumstances) miraculously lucky in the path of the bullets. Many others were less fortunate. Radley also was less fortunate. I know how the families must feel of others, and there are some who even now are suffering the agony of no confirmation of disappeared relatives. 12 hours of that were bad enough.

Activists Plan to Burn American Flags in New York City Ahead of Fourth of July

A group calling for the immediate disarmament of the New York Police Department plans to burn American flags in a Brooklyn park on Wednesday, just days before the Fourth of July holiday.

“Disarm NYPD” announced the “Burn the American Flags” event on Facebook, inviting individuals to join the organization at Fort Greene Park to “set fire to this symbol of oppression.”

Organizers said accused Charleston shooter Dylann Roof wasn’t an “isolated actor,” but a “product of a consistent pattern of state-sponsored terrorism and radicalized dehumanization in America.” The event originally was aimed at burning the Confederate flag, but later changed to focus on the stars and stripes.

“There will be no peace until we tear down this system of oppression,” the group wrote on Facebook. “It isn’t enough to take the flag down; we must put an end to white supremacy once and for all.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are several questions which come to mind on this, and the first is: who is paying for these flags to be burned?!?

And the second question is, should these protests go national, and get horrifically violent, who benefits?!?

I really have to very soberly think that the greatest benefactor for such actions would be the Federal Government itself, because a national curfew could be imposed, followed by the suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, coupled with the invocation of martial law.

And this administration would dearly love to be in a position to do this.

Why?!? Because world financial conditions will impact the American economy horrifically, with it looking like Greece, Puerto Rico, and Ukraine defaulting, all at approximately the same time.

What we saw yesterday on the stock markets may well be a harbinger of things to come.

The US government is very keen to start wars with Russia and China, to prevent the upswing of the ruble and yuan against the dollar.

With no First Amendment protection available, we cannot protest against either these wars, nor the reintroduction of the draft (and legislation for that, which will draft both our young men and women, has been sitting in the House Armed Services Committee for at least the last two years, until the "Right emotional moment" comes, where the House and senate believe that the American people will sign off on it)

Please be smart about how you protest, and do not give this Administration the reasons it wants to invoke martial law.

Yes, I know that the Supreme Court made flag burning protected free speech; but you can still be charged with a misdemeanor.

Anyone who wants to protest this weekend, please do it peacefully.

And remember; the stinky kid advocating property destruction, or the hurting of anyone of your brothers and sisters who are also protesting with you, is most likely a government operative, hoping to inflame the angers which exist into becoming full on riot conditions.

The next Greece may be in the U.S

When Chicago Public Schools announced on June 24 that it would borrow $1 billion to make a $600 million-plus pension payment due June 30 an eerie feeling spread across bond investors and taxpayers alike.

It was the same feeling that gripped investors when Moody’s Investors Service downgraded Chicago’s credit rating to junk based almost entirely on the city’s pension problems.

The fear was that elevated pension costs, in cities like Chicago, might push these public entities into insolvency, wiping out much of the holdings of municipal-bond investors.

Once a sleepy corner of the municipal bond market — often not even properly reflected on cities’ balance sheets — public pensions have recently turned into the biggest headache for taxpayers and municipal-bond investors, threatening to bring down the finances of U.S. cities and states.

In some places, like Puerto Rico, Illinois, New Jersey and Chicago, entire balance sheets of cities or states hang in the balance.

16 Facts About The Tremendous Financial Devastation That We Are Seeing All Over The World

As we enter the second half of 2015, financial panic has gripped most of the globe. Stock prices are crashing in China, in Europe and in the United States. Greece is on the verge of a historic default, and now Puerto Rico and Ukraine are both threatening to default on their debts if they do not receive concessions from their creditors. Not since the financial crisis of 2008 has so much financial chaos been unleashed all at once. Could it be possible that the great financial crisis of 2015 has begun?

Things have been relatively quiet in the financial world for so long that many have been sucked into a false sense of security.

But the underlying imbalances were always there, and they have been getting worse over time.

I believe that we are heading into a global financial collapse that will make what happened in 2008 look like a Sunday picnic by the time it is all said and done.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To all our readers/listeners; I would never want to be characterized as "Mrs. Chicken Little of Oahu, 2015, but I can tell you this: something wicked this way comes.

Whether it is a major collapse of the US economy, or a world war, began by a US government, which will be engineered as a distraction from a collapse of the US economy, I do not know.

But as always, we advise prudence in favor of freaking out.

Make sure that you have no more funds in the bank than are absolutely needed to pay your bills.

Make sure to have extra storable food, potable water, and medications for your family, and your pets.

Create a bug-out plan, and figure out how much flexibility your children's schools have, if you are seeing a state of emergency coming, and feel you need to get your kids out of school quickly.

Have some amounts of silver in your possession; if the dollar craters completely, that will most likely become a medium of exchange, because it is solid.

Find people with whom you can barter skills and services, and develop a community of like-minded people with whom you would feel comfortable.

Washington man given less than 2 gallons of water while jailed 13 days over bad check — and now he’s dead

ashington man starved to death while jailed 13 days over a bad check.

An autopsy showed that Keaton Farris died April 7 of dehydration and malnutrition after nearly two weeks in the Island County Jail, reported Natives in America.

Relatives hired a detective to investigate his death, and they learned two months later that jail employees refused to offer medical treatment to Farris or provide medication for his bipolar disorder.

They also found the 25-year-old Farris was denied even the minimum amount of water needed for human survival after guards shut it off to prevent him from flooding his cell.

The investigation revealed Farris had been given just 185 ounces of water, or about a gallon and a half, while incarcerated – far below the 1,563 ounces recommended under National Institute of Health guidelines.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is what happens to mentally ill people in the US; rather than being places in a psychiatric hospital where he really belonged, he was thrown in jail, and died there.

Had he received proper treatment, he might have survived. But of course, public funds for psychiatric hospitals are nearly non-existent in this country; so people who desperately need psychiatric services are considered completely expendable by the local and federal authorities.

Mr. Farris was, obviously, one of those people.

There Is One 'Small' Problem With The Crowdfunded Greek Bailout Campaign

Noble, generous... and quite idiotic, for one simple reason - the math is horribly wrong.

Here is what the campaign says is its target: "€1.6bn is what the Greeks need."

Actually, no.

€1.6 billion is what Greece needs to repay obligations that are already due to the IMF as of June 30 or else Greece will be kicked out of its current bailout program.

Here is the real list of what the Greeks "need" in order to get a full bailout: a complete repayment of their total outstanding debt to the Troika as well as to remaining private holdout creditors:

The total: €275 billion.

And what is even worse: not one cent of the €1.6 billion already due, nor one cent of the €275 billion in debt due until 2057 will make its way to the Greek people.

ICELAND HANDS CORRUPT BANKERS PRISON SENTENCES OF UP TO FOUR YEARS AND SIX MONTHS

Six defendants in the Kaupþing market manipulation case, the biggest case of this type in Iceland’s history, have been handed prison sentences ranging from one year to four years and six months.

By fully financing share purchases with no other surety than the shares themselves, the bank was accused of giving a false and misleading impression of demand for Kaupþingi shares by means of deception and pretence.

Former Director of Kaupþing, Ingólfur Helgason, is to be jailed for four years and six months.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the Greek leadership: may I suggest to you the "Icelandic Option" as a way out of the current economic crisis.

1. Repudiate the odious debt, which was never approved by the Greek people.
2. Charge the crooked bankers and politicians who put Greece into this mess with their crimes, have them tried and convicted by a jury of their peers, and jailed for an appropriate length of time.

You way also want to examine, very seriously, just how well the Icelandic did after making those choices.

France says the name 'ISIS' is offensive, will call it 'Daesh' instead

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is a bit of a misnomer, says France, as it lends the imprimatur of Islam to a group that the vast majority of Muslims finds despicable. "This is a terrorist group and not a state. I do not recommend using the term Islamic State because it blurs the lines between Islam, Muslims, and Islamists," France's Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said in a statement. "The Arabs call it 'Daesh' and I will be calling them the 'Daesh cutthroats.'"

The name Daesh, according to France24, is a "loose acronym" for "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (al-Dawla al-Islamiya al-Iraq al-Sham).

Sham would be a far better term.

GOV. BROWN HAS 12 DAYS TO SIGN CALIF. SCHOOL VACCINE BILL

California's contentious school vaccine bill is now on Governor Jerry Brown's desk. On Monday, the state senate passed the bill that would require vaccinations for every student.

At the heart of the debate is a personal belief exemption that, until now, allowed parents to not have their kids immunized.

Such was the decision by Mill Valley residents Alex Gatsis and Tim Lundeen, who worry that their son Jace might suffer a bad reaction based on an auto-immune condition.

"Do we move? Do we leave California, maybe?" Gatsis asked.

"I think the whole purpose of the bill is to increase the number of vaccines that are on the mandatory schedule, which is going to generate hundreds of millions of dollars. There is no public benefit to this bill but there is a benefit to Merck, and there is a benefit to the politicians who are getting campaign contributions from the pharmaceutical business," Lundee said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This bill, if signed, will witness the ushering in of an entire generation of young moms and dads who will either home school their children, rather than vaccinate, or leave the state.

If you are a California resident who has to make the tough decisions about vaccinating your kids, please do your due diligence.

But the worst offenders, in terms of vaccines leaving kids permanently damaged, seem to be the combination shots. Please do your research wisely, and remember; home schooled kids tend to do extraordinarily well on college entrance exams.

Woman loses checks in the mail, calls 12 for help

Nearly two weeks ago, Temika Brown handed off letters to her mail carrier. Those letters included two checks and a money order, all for bills that needed to be paid. None of those letters arrived at their intended destinations.

"I had to call cancel and do new checks and everything," Brown said.

This cost her $80. With her bill money missing, Brown went to her area post office on Hopkins Road in South Richmond to get answers.

"I was told they were having problems at the Richmond processing. But I couldn't get a number to the processing, and that was basically it," Brown said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

KKK Leaflets Show up on LA Lawns; Another Part of the Race War Psyop?

Apparently the distribution of white supremacist propaganda also occurred in Orange County last week as well, so they’re really hitting this one up hard post-Charleston. A similar incident also took place earlier this year in Santa Ana on, of all days, Martin Luther King Jr. day.

Again, this sounds like something straight out of a COINTELPRO course on provocateuring, especially in the fact that it was splashed all over the news to add a little something to the race baiting in a post-Ferguson, post-Baltimore, post-Charleston America.

Speaking of COINTELPRO, considering there have been recent claims the FBI covered up their KKK informant’s role in Martin Luther King’s assassination, and that the agency destroyed crucial documents on purpose to stop the exposure of a high-ranking Klansman who also happened to be a Fed agent, the government might know a little thing or two about the KKK…

Baltimore City Council Calls Out Police For Fake Gang Threat

I’m sure many of you remember what happened after the death of Freddie Gray, and the riots and protests that followed. However, one of the details surrounding those events stands out for being particularly outrageous. Two days after the protests had turned violent, the police issued a statement warning that gangs like the Crips and Bloods were now working together to kill cops.

If that sounds weird or unlikely to you, you’re not alone. Shortly after the incident, Crip gang members were seen standing with the City Council, and calling for the end to the violence. They denounced the claims as “false.”

However, if you’re uncomfortable with believing the claims of a confessed gang member, you would be forgiven. But don’t take their word for it. The Baltimore City Council is also calling out the police for their false accusations, and they want answers.

Hillary Lucks Out; News on Emails She Failed to Turn over Got ‘Lost’ on Biggest News Day of the Year

Yes, Hillary sure did luck out didn’t she?

News hit that, despite her promises that she turned over each and every email during her tenure as Secretary of State, the State Department found at least 15 emails Hillary Clinton did not turn over (via The New York Times):

The State Department said on Thursday that 15 emails sent or received by Hillary Rodham Clinton were missing from records that she has turned over, raising new questions about whether she deleted work-related emails from the private account she used exclusively while in office.

But, considering the news didn’t fully break until the same day that the Supreme Court upheld gay marriage and that’s all anyone was talking about that day in the mainstream press, no one likely even saw buried headlines about Hillary’s “lost” emails.

Oh, and the emails just so happened to be about Libya, too.

7 photos that sum up what it looks like in Greece today

Here’s what it looks like in Greece today, after a weekend in which the government walked away from negotiations with creditors and declared a referendum on debt-holder demands for this Sunday: Banks are closed, and there are lines outside ATMs, where withdrawals from a Greek account are limited to just 60 euros.

That’s if there is still money in the ATM.

Greece About to Default: Banks, Stock Exchange Down for Next Six Days

Analysts are estimating the country will likely default by Tuesday.

Some Greeks have already begun hoarding groceries and gasoline, The New York Times reports.

They clearly have no reason to trust their government, just as The Daily Sheeple reported two days ago when said government told its citizens not to worry and was promising there would be no capital controls put in place this week…

Should Tunisia be Thanking Washington for the Recent Terrorist Attacks?

After a terrorist attack carried out by “Islamic State” (ISIL) militants on a hotel resort in Tunisia on June 26, that resulted in 39 people being killed, the situation in the country has begun to reach boiling point. This attack claimed more lives than any other massacre in the history of Tunisia. Tunisian authorities announced the closure of over 80 mosques, which, according to Prime Minister Habib Essid, have become the place where violence breeds. The public has not fully recovered from shock when on the following day a police car was blown up in the Kef governorate.

Russia: Tit for Tat

Hail, fire and brimstone, new sanctions or the US tanks on its borders, Russia takes things in stride. President Putin could adopt the motto of William of Orange: saevis tranquillus in undis, calm amidst the tempest. The tempest is all around. American tanks moved into the Baltic states. American warships sail up the Black sea. The EU sanctions against Russia were extended for another six months. Russian assets were seized in France and Belgium.

Supreme Court upholds lethal injections

The Supreme Court upheld by 5-4 the usage of a sedative called midazolam in drug cocktails used for death penalties in several states. Death row inmates argued the drug failed to block pain and suffering, leading to 'cruel and unusual' executions.

Justice Alito delivered the court’s opinion, joined by judges Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas and Chief Justice Roberts. According to the majority, it is “settled that capital punishment is constitutional,” and therefore there has to be a constitutional method of carrying it out.

In her dissent, Justice Sotomayor criticized the majority for accepting the District Court’s decision to “credit the scientifically unsupported and implausible testimony of a single expert witness,” and “faulting petitioners for failing to satisfy the wholly novel requirement of proving the availability of an alternative means for their own executions.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wish that states, and the Federal Government, were completely out of the business of chemical assassinations of condemned prisoners.

I am NOT soft on crime, but in the 21st century in this country, the fact that it is by far the poorer individuals accused of crimes, and saddled with overworked public defenders, rather than those who have the luxury of a "dream team" of defenders, who get sentenced to death, bothers me greatly.

Additionally, the way DNA is treated after an accused person is jailed, pending trial, is not consistent, and because of this, I would advocate for life with no parole, at hard labor for the worst of the worst. There needs to be a national standard for DNA testing and storing, to give those truly innocent a chance for acquittal.

Now’s the Time To End Tax Exemptions for Religious Institutions

The Supreme Court's ruling on gay marriage makes it clearer than ever that the government shouldn't be subsidizing religion and non-profits

Two weeks ago, with a decision inObergefell v. Hodges on the way, Sen. Mike Lee of Utah introduced the First Amendment Defense Act, which ensures that religious institutions won’t lose their tax exemptions if they don’t support same-sex marriage. Liberals tend to think Sen. Lee’s fears are unwarranted, and they can even point to Justice Anthony Kennedy’s opinion in Friday’s case, which promises “that religious organizations and persons [will be] given proper protection.”

How States Are Fighting to Keep Towns From Offering Their Own Broadband

Earlier this year, the Federal Communications Commission voted to ease the way for cities to become Internet service providers. So-called municipal broadband is already a reality in a few towns, often providing Internet access and faster service to rural communities that cable companies don’t serve.

We Are All Greeks! Europe Only Has a Future With the New Silk Road

It's not Greece which has failed, but rather Chancellor Merkel, Finance Minister Schäuble, the EU Commission, the European Central Bank, and the IMF. Why should the Greek government stick with the austerity measures demanded by the EU, which have already reduced the Greek economy by a third, lowered the birth rate, raised the death rate, and increased youth unemployment to 65%? A policy that even the IMF had to admit was completely incompetent, and that the UN expert on debt and human rights condemned as a clear violation of human rights? Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras's decision not to capitulate to the "shock and awe" method of the Eurogroup's Shylocks is not only correct, but offers the chance for all of Europe to break with the insanity of the casino economy, which only serves the interests of the banks and speculators—provided however, that Germany and other countries find the courage to mobilize Europe's moral and intellectual strengths.

'Cash Strapped' VA Forgot It Had $43.1 Million Stashed Away

When not pleading poverty, the Department of Veterans Affairs can be awfully careless with its money. The latest example: In 2011, the VA set $43.1 million aside to produce brochures informing veterans about their benefits, then forgot about it. The money went unspent for three years and now might be lost for good.
An internal audit released earlier this month said, "A breakdown of VA fiscal controls and a lack of oversight led to the parking of funds . .. and the failure to detect and properly use and manage these funds."
That breakdown in fiscal controls seems to be endemic at the VA.
This week, in fact, the VA is telling Congress that it needs $2.6 billion in funds to cover its "unexpectedly" high health costs, and if it doesn't get the money, it might have to start furloughing medical personnel.

Absoflippinglutely UNBELIEVABLE!!

The people who did this should be found out, charged, convicted by a jury of their peers, and spend a LOT OF TIME in prison, and not at a Club Fed.

No matter how much I may hate these pre-emptive wars in which the US government seems to be so directly complicit, our Vets should get the best quality of care possible, period, end of discussion.

Texas attorney general says religious state workers can deny licenses to same-sex couples if they object to gay marriage

Texas's conservative Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton is calling the Supreme Court decision giving same-sex couples the right to marry a 'lawless ruling' and says state workers can cite their religious objections in denying marriage licenses.

He warned in a statement Sunday that any clerk, justice of the peace or other administrator who declines to issue a license to a same-sex couple could face litigation or a fine.

But in the nonbinding legal opinion, Paxton says 'numerous lawyers' stand ready to defend, free of charge, any public official refusing to grant one.

Truth is a Crime Against The State

The Western presstitutes have succeeded in creating a false reality for insouciant Americans and also for much of the European Union population.

A sizable percentage of these insouciant peoples believe that Russia invaded Ukraine and that Russia is threatening to invade the Baltic States and Poland. This belief exists despite all intelligence of all Western governments reporting that there is no sign of any Russian forces that would be required for invasion.

The “Russian invasion,” like “Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction and al Qaeda connections,” like “Assad of Syria’s use of chemical weapons against his own people,” like “Iranian nukes,” never existed but nevertheless became the reality in the Western media. The insouciant Western peoples believe in non-existent occurrences.

In other words, just to state the obvious noncontroversial fact, the Western “news” media is a propaganda ministry from which no truth emerges.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The "Whoreporate news networks", in print, or electronically, only give you the narrative the US government wants you to hear or see, which is why you are many times shielded so carefully from the stark realities creating public policy about which you need to know, and understand.

Unfortunately, at this point in my life, the country of which I am most deeply frightened, in terms of making some sort of ham-fistedly, pig-headedly wrong policies which will impact Americans badly (either by declaring a new war, against a truly non-belligerent country which is no threat to us), or embracing fiscal policies which will lead to a smash and burn of the US economy's small businesses, is my own government.

Man Wins Lawsuit After Neighbor Shotgunned His Drone

Comments section tough guys and fictional sitcom characters like Ron Swanson have popularized the idea that it's completely acceptable to shoot a drone out of the sky.
