One last appeal before a Bedouin village in the Negev is demolished and a Jewish town is built in its place

The Bedouin village of Umm el-Hieran in Israel’s southern Negev desert is running out of time and appeals before it will be razed to the ground and an exclusively Jewish town will be built in its place.

The Hunger Games: New CBS reality show exploits poor families by making them grovel for $101,000

As if to prove there are new depths to be plumbed in the world of reality television (because who knew?), CBS just debuted The Briefcase, a show which takes poverty porn, class anxiety, emotional manipulation and exploitation and packages them all neatly into a pretty despicable hour of primetime television. Kicking off each episode with the question, “What would you do with $101,000?” the show then deep-dives into a competition that asks two unwitting, financially strapped families to choose between two no-win options: being financially solvent yet appearing heartless and greedy, or drowning in debt yet having audiences recognize them as selfless and giving.

NOT SO FAST: Lawyer Wants 'Missing' Clinton Emails Subpoenaed – FROM THE NSA.

Original post.

Vast quantities of our electronic papers and effects are indexed and archived under each of our names (but of course they are not "collected," since collected, it seems, means looked at, not intercepted, diverted, or recorded). This is common knowledge, no matter how many times Mitch "the-content-of-calls-are-not-captured" McConnell Jr. says otherwise.

How many of us, as we daily are forced to witness our government merge with the good old dystopian fiction we were supposed to have read in school, as we realized the chilling literal reality of the surveillance state erected around us, have nervously joked about putting all that data to good use for a change?

Huge Explosion In Latakia Reveals US HRW Hypocrisy

By Brandon Turbeville

On May 25, when a large explosion took place in Latakia, Syria, a few mainstream media outlets covered the incident from the angle of it being yet one more sign that the Syrian regime was losing its grip on power. This explosion was followed by a huge yellow plume of smoke that caused many informed observers to wonder whether or not the explosion was that of a chemical weapon.

On the chemical weapons question, however, the mainstream Western press was silent...

UK’s Independent Newspaper Blows Lid Off Vaccine Damages

By Catherine J. Frompovich

Finally it’s happened! A member of the mainstream press has the intestinal fortitude to publish the carefully ‘kept secret’, secret about vaccines and vaccinations: They cause dramatic life-altering damage and more frequently than “evidence-based medicine” or “consensus science” owns up to or MDs, the medical profession, public health agencies and pro-vaccine acolytes acknowledge.

The UK’s Independent Newspaper published some extremely damning vaccine adverse drug reaction (ADR) information on May 31, 2015...

Israel Is A Discredit To America — Paul Craig Roberts

Jeffrey St. Clair, one of the few remaining Western journalists with a moral conscience, describes the latest Israeli horror to which we are all accomplices.

The Israel Lobby tries to prevent reports and criticism of Israel’s crimes against the Palestinians by branding every critic of every policy of the extreme right-wing Israeli government an “anti-semite.” In other words, if you object to Israeli armed forces shooting down Palestinian children in the streets and then bombing the funerals of the kids the Israelis have already murdered, you hate Jews and are an anti-Semite.

The success that the Israel Lobby has enjoyed in imposing this twisted logic on Congress, the White House, the media, the universities and the insouciant American public is astonishing. As a consequence, Americans are no longer answerable to Christian morality but to the evil that the Israel Lobby represents.

Russia and China mock divide and rule

Divide et impera? It’s not working. And it’s bound to fail miserably.

As it stands, what we do know is that 2015 will be a hair-raising year in myriad aspects... we all still remain under the sign of a fearful, dangerous, rampantly irrational Empire of Chaos.

Russia could outmaneuver Western financial markets by cutting them off from its wealth of oil and natural gas. The markets would inevitably collapse – uncontrolled chaos for the Empire of Chaos (or “controlled chaos”, in Putin’s own words).

In a different vein of the “soft beds of the East” seducing Marcus Aurelius, the silky splendors of chic Beijing offer a glimpse of an extremely self-assured emerging power. After all, Europe is nothing but a catalogue of multiple sclerosis and Japan is under its sixth recession in 20 years.

Decrepit US Resorts to the Viagra of Militarism

The increasing deployment of American navy, warplanes and missile systems – under the guise of «protecting its partners» – is fuelling militarization of the territorial disputes.

US deteriorating relations with China are the latest manifestation of America’s self-declared «manifest destiny» to behave like a global hegemon.

The increasing deployment of American navy, warplanes and missile systems – under the guise of «protecting its partners» – is fuelling militarization of the territorial disputes.

China, for its part, says that its own military presence in the region is to protect its voluminous trade routes. Beijing has pointedly refused to cease its maritime development projects, mainly land reclamation in shoals and reefs that it says are strictly within its territorial limits.

POETS’ TALK — Where do we fit in in ‘the march of Time’?

The gatekeepers have, I believe, crucified American poetry upon a cross erected by “language poets,” “identity poets,” “politically correct poets,” “apolitical poets” and general nincompoops -- Gary Corseri

The Arts have fallen into an era of petite academicism, crass commercialism and manipulated populism. So, our challenges are many; they are harsh; let us hope they will be invigorating!

Poets who do not see, who do not confront what is out there and around them-- are cowards! Which needn’t mean that that is ALL we must do! But… we must see and confront what surrounds us at some point! Not always…, but when it’s right to do so. To advocate that we always do it is asking us to be propagandists.José M. Tirado

Future Imperfect: Tomorrowland (Review)

It might be a little unfair to criticize Tomorrowland for sticking to themes that, admittedly, are fine and comforting presences in a childrens’ movie. However, Bird’s commitment to abstract banalities and spineless pep talks accomplish neither. Kids should be encouraged to hope and dream and invent fun things. Hell, everybody should. That’s still no excuse for a mess of a story that contradicts itself tonally, politically, and philosophically. Tomorrowland isn’t going to inspire the world’s next generation of scientists. It takes a lot more than a movie to do that.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am not in the regular habit of posting reviews about movies. I generally prefer to write my own when needed.

But since I discussed this latest Disney film, "Tomorrowland" in the context of its pandering to the global warming agenda, I figured it is relevant to mention in follow-up that Disney has a $190 million flop on its hands!

Some other reviews...

Disney’s ‘Tomorrowland’ movie fails to meet high expectations

'Tomorrowland' Dreams Big, But Fails To Rake In Big Bucks At The Box Office

'Tomorrowland' sermonizes, fails to inspire

And finally ‘Tomorrowland’ Exposes Hollywood’s Originality Problem

The last one is right on the button. Ever since Eisner, Disney projects have been planned by marketing people who treat a movie like a salad; add a few more nuts and flakes and people will want to eat it. That may make sense designing a menu but is a recipe for losing the narrative in a film, and along with it your audience!

Moving beyond Disney, the political correctness movement which infected Hollywood in the 1990s repeated the mistake made during the McCarthy years of driving the most creative and original people out of the industry for the crime of ... being creative and thinking truly original thoughts, meaning thoughts the government doesn't like. Been there, done that, didn't buy the T-shirt!

The best minds in Hollywood have been kicked out of Hollywood, because obedient dummies are what is wanted!

Disney may have felt they could return to the formula of "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" which ran from 1954 through 1993. Originally run on NBC to fill out their transition to the full-color network, NBC thought they were getting the catalog of Disney movies and cartoons, only to learn to their dismay that every 3rd program was basically an infomercial for the Anaheim park. Back then it worked, as with a medium with only 3 channels, anything on TV was seen as special and exalted. In today's media-saturated world with a thousand channels (and endless re-runs) being seen on TV does not have the social status it once did. Social media, which makes everyone their own production company, has ended the mystique of being special just because you are seen on an appliance! Basing a movie on a section of the theme park (even if just the title) backfired.

Hollywood today does lack creativity because the truly original thinkers are banned, as they were back in McCarthy's time, and like McCarthy's time Hollywood is trying to survive by resorting to endless remakes of what-worked-before-only-better. That too, is also a thing of the past as everyone has seen the earlier versions on their thousand channel cable more times than they wanted to!

There are, of course, original stories out there; stories people would really like to see, like how Vince Foster really died, or how the US Navy shot down TWA 800, or how the Lusitania really was carrying weapons of war, and so forth. But Hollywood, ever the propaganda servant of the US Government will not dare touch those, nor anyone who even talks about them. And so it is back to endless remakes of what-worked-before-only-slightly-different, with the inevitable politically-correct twists.

Disney just learned a hard lesson that people no longer buy a ticket to see every movie, and the Disney name is not a box-office guarantee any longer; not since the Disney family got the heave-ho.

Disney put $190 million into this film. The Hollywood rule of thumb is that after advertising and distribution costs plus the theaters' percentages, a film has to take in 2.5 times that original budget at the ticket windows (DVD and cable sales) just to break even. That means in the case of "Tomorrowland", $475 million, almost half a billion at the box office just to break even. Despite today's high theater ticket prices, I doubt Disney will see that much cash from this disaster, and frankly never intended to see it myself, given its overt pandering to the global warming hoax.

And that last part might also explain the lukewarm sales for the film. More and more people know the global warming claims are a hoax, which make it hard to take seriously a film that treats it as real. For people my age, who listened to promises of the glorious future world we would all grow up to see, only to wind up living in ... Detroit, the optimism of "Tomorrowland" rings very hollow, almost like the Busby Berkeley films of the 1930s depression, but without the leggy dancing girls in skimpy costumes!

That is not enough to hold our attention, no matter how great the visual effects are!

Greville Janner - How "People in High Places" Covered Up for a Parliamentary Pedophile

The Lord Greville Janner affair shows no signs of winding down despite the best efforts by the authorities to kick it into the long grass. Each week brings new revelations about the former President of the British Board of Jewish Deputies, who is suspected of at least 22 cases of child sexual abuse.

Up until now the scrutiny has mainly focused on how, although said to be too ill with dementia to be tried, the 86-year-old founder of the Holocaust Education Trust was able to take part in parliamentary debates, collect a hundred thousand pounds in expenses, and was compus mentus enough to sign over his property deeds to his children thereby putting them out of range of any damages litigation.

Al-Nusra Front has taken to the airwaves with a message for all Westerners and Americans in particular – they really aren’t that bad. And there are no plans to attack Americans. They are just your friendly neighborhood terrorist organization, funded handsomely by the West and the GCC, raping and beheading their way across the Middle East. There’s nothing to worry about so long as the US allows them to continue to rape little girls, cut off heads, impose savage Sharia law, and eat the hearts and livers of the occasional dissident.

This message was brought to you by the feudal monarchy of Qatar and its mouthpiece organization, Al-Jazeera and conducted with a journalist whose past is checkered with a conviction of supporting al-Qaeda...

US Cries FIFA Foul to Penalize Russia

The melodrama had the air of a politically driven media campaign for maximum publicity.

?But the real goal of the full-frontal assault on FIFA, which involved dawn raids at a five-star hotel in Swiss city Zurich, seems more to do with American political purpose to damage Russia’s World Cup plans. That objective has to be seen in the context of Washington’s aim to isolate and destabilize Moscow in an ongoing geopolitical battle that is currently centred on Ukraine.

Russia’s World Cup plans appear to be now similarly targeted for an ulterior political agenda. Within hours of the US-launched arrests of FIFA officials in Zurich, the football federation was obliged to state that the forthcoming World Cup in Russia was not in jeopardy of cancellation over related claims of wrongdoing in the selection of that venue.

A Critique of US “Grand Strategy toward China”

If one were to propose a realistic and reasonable ‘US Grand Strategy toward China’ one would have to start by shedding all the false assumptions and bellicose proposals that have been put forth by the CFR and the authors of the Report under review.

The US should not attempt to block China’s growth and expansion; it should assist and share in its ascendancy, especially in the face of great global climate and energy challenges. Washington is much more likely to strengthen its Asian – Pacific partnership and succeed in its diplomacy if it replaced its military posturing with robust economic growth.

Yemen Crisis a 'Humanitarian Catastrophe,' Experts Say

It’s been just more than two months since a Saudi Arabia-led coalition began its airstrike campaign against Houthi rebels in Yemen, and the country has since become a “humanitarian catastrophe,” experts said Thursday.

“I am shocked about what I have seen,” said Medecins Sans Frontieres’ Middle East Operations Manager Pablo Marco, who spent 50 days inside the country recently. “The biggest problem is the fact both parties in the conflict are not respecting the civilians and, specifically, they are not respecting medical facilities and medical staff.”

Marco was one in a panel of three experts in Washington who took a hard line against attacks by the Houthis as well as the 10-country coalition engaged in a bombing campaign against them for the past 10 weeks. The U.S. provides intelligence and material support to that Arab-led coalition.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Yemenite people deserve their own peaceful self determination.

The Saudi attacks have been engineered to destroy the people of the country, and the infrastructure, so that the Yemenite people will beg for their old dictator, al-Saleh, back.

DENNY HASTERT IS CONTEMPTIBLE, BUT HIS INDICTMENT EXEMPLIFIES AMERICA’S OVER-CRIMINALIZATION PATHOLOGY

That common arc is more of an indictment of U.S. political culture than Hastert himself, but he’s certainly been happily and hungrily feeding at the trough. A political system that essentially ensures that every powerful political official becomes extremely rich is one that is inherently corrupt – as we’ve been taught for decades about those Bad Other Countries – and that is the most interesting and most important part of this story.

But Hastert was not indicted for any of that. Nor was he indicted for the alleged, unspecified “past misconduct” against an unnamed person to whom he agreed to pay $3.5 million to keep concealed.

Instead, Hastert was indicted for two alleged felonies: 1) withdrawing cash from his bank accounts in amounts and patterns designed to hide the payments; and 2) lying to the FBI about the purpose of those withdraws once they detected them and then inquired with him. That’s it. For those venial acts, he faces five years in a federal prison on each count.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I seriously doubt that Hastert will actually do real time; if he does, he will get off with a slap on the wrist, and short sentence to a "Club Fed", which I am sure, his attorney is working on right now.

And yes, our alleged "justice system" is completely skewered in favor of the rich, privileged, and powerful.

It should not be this way at all.

And why our prisons bulge with prisoners, when Sweden is emptying its jails, (because the total approach there is rehabilitation, so that people do not re-offend) leaves much to ponder.

The U.S. House Of Representatives recently passed an act that would prohibit abortions from 20 weeks after fertilization, except in cases of rape, incest or when the life of a mother is endangered. A photograph in the womb at this stage of development is shown on the right.

The legislation states that its purpose is to protect “the lives of unborn children from the stage at which substantial medical evidence indicates that they are capable of feeling pain.” According to the bill’s authors, this occurs “by 20 weeks after fertilization, if not earlier.” Media outlets, however, are reporting otherwise.

The Clinton Foundation Paid Sidney Blumenthal $10K/Month As He Gave Horrible Libya Advice To State Dept

Mr. Gowdy’s chief interest, according to people briefed on the inquiry, is a series of memos that Mr. Blumenthal — who was not an employee of the State Department — wrote to Mrs. Clinton about events unfolding in Libya before and after the death of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi. According to emails obtained by The New York Times, Mrs. Clinton, who was secretary of state at the time, took Mr. Blumenthal’s advice seriously, forwarding his memos to senior diplomatic officials in Libya and Washington and at times asking them to respond. Mrs. Clinton continued to pass around his memos even after other senior diplomats concluded that Mr. Blumenthal’s assessments were often unreliable.

But an examination by The Times suggests that Mr. Blumenthal’s involvement was more wide-ranging and more complicated than previously known, embodying the blurry lines between business, politics and philanthropy that have enriched and vexed the Clintons and their inner circle for years.

Corporate Media Accused of Parroting Fear-Mongering over Patriot Act

But as other national security experts note, the Patriot Act is far from a safeguard against terrorism. In an op-ed published last Sunday, ACLU legal deputy director Jameel Jaffer criticized the media's choice of publishing such quotes wholesale without challenging their veracity. And I say: One big reason is the cocktail parties.

How to Become a 'Mouthpiece for a Mass Murderer'

So, in the event that you’d like to save yourself the bother of reading it in its entirety, I’ll summarize: Stephen Cohen, formerly respected Russia scholar, disagrees with the White House on Ukraine and is therefore a Putin stooge. That’s really the long and short of it.

RFERL laid into Cohen for “defending the Kremlin’s agenda” in the piece which presents an account of his recent debate with Washington Post columnist (and determined neo-con agenda pusher) Anne Applebaum and former world chess champion player Garry Kasparov.

The piece quotes Angela Stent, director of the Center for Russian Studies at Georgetown University, who explains why Cohen’s Kremlin defense crosses the line; because, she says, it’s not just that Cohen is saying he understands Putin’s motivations, which would be semi-okay (maybe, kind of, sort of), but it’s that he actually has taken the position that “Putin is right”.

Nazis on the Backlot

Memorial Day used to be a somber occasion, dedicated to reflection and remembrance of those killed in America’s wars. Today it is instead a celebration of ongoing wars, a long shopping weekend and the unofficial start of summer. Part of the problem with America’s shifting perception of the price to be paid when one goes to war is that it has been shaped by Hollywood and video games, so much so that it has become divorced from the horrible reality of what happens when countries and peoples do their best to kill each other. Protected by two oceans, the continental United States has been largely immune from being on the receiving end of war, not suffered any form of military attack since Pancho Villa rode against Blackjack Pershing in New Mexico in 1916. And apart from some experiments with weather balloons launched by the Japanese in 1942, the country has never been subjected to aerial bombardment.

US Shoots Itself in the Foot Escalating Tensions With Russia, China, Iran

The Obama administration has repeatedly sent wrong signals to Russia, China and Iran, slamming the countries for non-existent expansionism and so far showing the disheartening dysfunction in America’s foreign policy, former CIA Case Officer and Army Intelligence Officer Philip Giraldi underscored, according to Sputnik.

US President is shooting himself in the foot, but he should wake up and realize what is going on "before Hillary Clinton or Jeb Bush arrives on the scene to make everything worse"the former CIA officer Philip Giraldi concluded.

Washington Protects Its Lies With More Lies — Paul Craig Roberts

My distrust has deepened of Seymour Hersh’s retelling of the Obama regime’s extra-judicial murder of Osama bin Laden by operating illegally inside a sovereign country. http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2015/05/11/seymour-hersh-succumbs-disi... That Hersh’s story, which is of very little inherent interest, received such a large amount of attention, is almost proof of orchestration in order to substantiate the Obama regime’s claim to have killed a person who had been dead for a decade.

Banksters admit rigging markets since 2007, ‘fined’ 33% of 1 quarter’s income while looting tens of trillions tax-free

*hyperlinks/video live at source*

hat tips: here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tu32CCA_Ig

Asset-hole and so-called “too big to jail” banks admitted criminal looting through market manipulation and collusion last week, and will return a mere 33% of one quarter’s income without prison sentences (total “fine” of $5.7 billion from $15.5 billion 2015 1st-quarter combined incomes - see below).

Please note that the US Department of Justice (sic) fails to communicate the amount looted by the banksters, only the “fines” without context of:

this is a bankster operating expense for pretending to operate under law,
“regulators” serve in government “minor league” positions until “called up” to work for the banksters in the “big leagues,”
requiring the banks to “fire” eight responsible executives without prison sentences just allows them to be rehired by other banksters to resume “business” as usual.

Memorial Day: Praying for Peace While Waging Permanent War?

First, we must learn the facts and face the truth that the U.S. is the biggest war maker in the world.

Second, we must commit ourselves and organize others to a true revolution of values and confront the corporations and politicians who continue to push our nation into war and inflate the military budget with the hot air of permanent fear mongering.

Third, we must admit what our country has been doing wrong, and we must make amends for the violence that the U.S. has waged on countries all over our world.

Kennedy Drops Bombshell: 70% News Ad Revenue From Pharma

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is at it again. After speaking in Sacramento, California against SB-277, pummeling the Centers for Disease Control during public testimony in Vermontand appearing on Bill Maher’s HBO show to do the same, he has now broke major news during a recent interview. Speaking with former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura regarding the vaccine industry and big pharma, Kennedy confirmed what many have assumed by stating:

“I ate breakfast last week with the president of a network news division and he told me that during non-election years, 70% of the advertising revenues for his news division come from pharmaceutical ads. And if you go on TV any night and watch the network news, you’ll see they become just a vehicle for selling pharmaceuticals. He also told me that he would fire a host who brought onto his station a guest who lost him a pharmaceutical account.”

Why the politically connected media elite are immune from criminal prosecution in America

What about America's liberal media elite? Do they, too, have some sort of legal immunity? Not technically as there are no laws or constitutional provisions that specifically exempt progressive elitist members of the press from legal prosecution.

However, author Katie Pavlich, news editor of the conservative TownHall.com news and opinion web site, says they might as well have immunity because they get away with criminal behavior that would likely land ordinary citizens behind bars all too often.

Voters don't trust news media's coverage of Hillary Clinton: Poll

Rasmussen Reports released the results of a national survey on Thursday that revealed 61 percent of likely voters have no trust in the political news they are getting. That's a 16-point increase from the 45 percent who said they did not trust the political news in a poll conducted in October 2014. Only 21 percent of the respondents said they still have confidence in the political coverage they get, but that's a 12-point decrease from the 33 percent in the October 2014 survey. Seventeen percent (17%) are not sure.

Hope – versus Neoliberalism – an Ode to Solidarity

The new apparent Hope – is it what my friend Finian Cunningham says – the first ‘eye blinking’ by Washington facing Russia?

We are so thirsty for hope, hope for another, more just, more equitable world, we see hope in the first ‘blinking of an eye’. Hope is good. Hope is the basis for action. And action must be the consequence of hope – hope that not all is lost. Action to break that impasse of neoliberal all-engulfing greed must be simple. We have become strangers to ourselves. We must return to our roots, recognizing where and why we failed to diagnose the beast. Our awakened, re-kindled sense of consciousness may lead us to what we have lost – our inherent sense of solidarity.

Let’s hope together for that to happen – to happen soon, for the suffering is too great to endure much longer. We, the 99.99 % have it in our power to stop this misery and save our planet.

William Kristol: We were right to fight in Iraq

We were right to invade Iraq in 2003 to remove Saddam Hussein, and to complete the job we should have finished in 1991.

Even with the absence of caches of weapons of mass destruction, and the mistakes we made in failing to send enough troops at first and to provide security from the beginning for the Iraqi people, we were right to persevere through several difficult years. We were able to bring the war to a reasonably successful conclusion in 2008.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So according to Kristol, the US killed a lot of people, bombed Iraq into rubble, utterly failed to accomplish the stated goals for the war because the nuclear weapons did not actually exist, leaving Iraq in utter chaos, but it was still a success?

I wonder what Kristol thinks is a failure?

George Soros, NATO, US Color Revolution Machine Behind Unrest in Macedonia

By Brandon Turbeville

With tensions heating up between the United States and Russia over a number of issues - Ukraine, BRICS, sanctions, and NATO encirclement to name a few - the West continues its move in toward Russia's borders. The latest target in the Anglo-American destabilization campaign has now come forward - Macedonia.

In the attempt to destroy the elected government of Macedonia, George Soros, NATO, and the Western Color Revolution apparatus have all come together to ensure that the will of the Macedonian people is denied as is the will of populations in all Western-style democracies.

As informed observers might well suspect, any color revolution taking place in Eastern Europe will involve the heavy hand of George Soros...

ABOUT THOSE U.S. TROOPS WHO DIED IN RAMADI

I can’t help but wonder how the family of Michael A. Monsoor is reacting to ISIS’s recent conquest of Ramadi in Iraq. Monsoor was awarded the Medal of Honor for actions taken during the 2006 Battle of Ramadi, when U.S. forces fought insurgents for control of the city. The medal was awarded posthumously.

Monsoor wasn’t the only U.S. soldier who died in Ramadi. According to the Wikipedia page “Battle of Ramadi (2006),” more than 80 U.S. soldiers were killed and more than 200 were injured.

My hunch is that at least some of the family members of all those dead Americans are thinking to themselves, “Okay, ISIS now controls Ramadi. But at least my loved one died so that Americans can be free.”

Of course, that’s easier than thinking that they died for nothing. But the fact is that they did die for nothing. Just look at Ramadi today for proof. Indeed, just look at Iraq.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Wars fought overseas are NOT fought "to keep Americans free"; they are fought for control of resources major American corporations wish to claim, and to which they have no moral right whatsoever.
As the lyrics from a new song I have just shipped off to my soloist, state:

"War's never fought for the reasons you're given,
Those in power keep feeding you lies
And the reasons you're made to keep fighting and killing
should come as no big surprise
War's not about freedom, or courage or honor,
or preserving the American way;
It's all about money, control greed and power,
And making those who resist go away....
And making those who resist go away..."

The US government, with its preemptive war against Iraq, caused the situation which gave rise to Isis (IF, in fact, Isis is not a US tool, just as was Al Quaeda, to scare the stuffing out of Americans, and scare them out of thinking.) The corporate presstitutes are bemoaning Iraq's coming complete demise, if the US doesn't go in a 3rd time, militarily.

Folks, just say no, peacefully, to this government on a third invasion of Iraq; they cannot get anything straight, and will most likely botch things up more than they already are botched in this country. It is your children who will fight, get maimed for life, or die, in the name of corporate profits.

And no kid should get maimed or die for that; EVER!!

David Brooks’ sickening Iraq apologia: How the New York Times hack just rewrote history

New York Times columnist David Brooks was once an enthusiastic backer of George W. Bush’s disastrous invasion of Iraq. He’d write columns for the Weekly Standard – the official journal of bankrupt neoconservative thought – glorifying Bush for his steely-eyed determination and tartly mocking the pansy liberals and other anti-war types who opposed Bush’s righteous exercise in nation-building and freedom-spreading. “History will allow clear judgments about which leaders and which institutions were up to the challenge posed by Saddam,” Brooks prophesied in the March 2003 column, “and which were not.”

CANCER CHARITIES BILKED DONORS FOR $187 MIL, SPENT IT ON LUXURY FOR CHARITY OPERATORS, THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS

Government regulators have cracked down on four cancer charities, accusing the Cancer Fund of America, Cancer Support Services, the Children's Cancer Fund of America, and the Breast Cancer Society of cheating donors out of $187 million.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), all 50 states, and the District of Columbia claim that the four foundations fraudulently told donors their money would help cancer patients. Instead, money from the donations overwhelmingly went into the pockets of charity operators, their families and friends, and professional fundraisers.

According to the complaint filed by authorities, the charities “operated as personal fiefdoms characterized by rampant nepotism, flagrant conflicts of interest, and excessive insider compensation, with none of the financial and governance controls that any bona fide charity would have adopted.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

When you are going to contribute to any charity, please do the due diligence.

There are two feeding ministries, supported by my local Methodist church, and the local Catholic church, that Mike and I support, because we see precisely where the food and money goes. But these days, one cannot be too careful, when appearance and substance of where your charity money goes may well be two different things entirely.

EVEN MORE ADMITTED FALSE FLAG TERROR INCIDENTS COME TO LIGHT

Presidents, Prime Ministers, Congressmen, Generals, Spooks, Soldiers and Police ADMIT to False Flag Terror

Every time we look, we find new admissions of false flag terror attacks. In the following instances, officials in the government which carried out the attack (or seriously proposed an attack) admit to it, either orally, in writing, or through photographs or videos:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Governments consistently lie to their people about realities on the ground, in order to further their geopolitical agendas, no matter how much pain and suffering those agendas will create.

I therefore cannot believe ANYTHING the US government says, ever again; should President Obama knock on my door here in Hawaii, and tell me the sun was shining, I would be morally obligated to walk outside and see for myself.

I’VE READ OBAMA’S SECRET TRADE DEAL. ELIZABETH WARREN IS RIGHT TO BE CONCERNED

You need to tell me what’s wrong with this trade agreement, not one that was passed 25 years ago,” a frustrated President Barack Obama recently complained about criticisms of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). He’s right. The public criticisms of the TPP have been vague. That’s by design—anyone who has read the text of the agreement could be jailed for disclosing its contents. I’ve actually read the TPP text provided to the government’s own advisors, and I’ve given the president an earful about how this trade deal will damage this nation. But I can’t share my criticisms with you.

I can tell you that Elizabeth Warren is right about her criticism of the trade deal. We should be very concerned about what’s hidden in this trade deal—and particularly how the Obama administration is keeping information secret even from those of us who are supposed to provide advice.

Webmaster's Commentary:

From what I have been able to gather, should this be passed, corporations will have complete control over all aspects of American life, superseding American Law, the Constitution, and Bill of Rights, and We the People will be utterly helpless to change that.

At the point of this legislation's passage, corporations will officially own the government of the United States of America, which they already covertly do; but when this passes, it will be an in-your-face, "Shut up and don't try to change this" attitude which will bring this country into a period of absolute Medieval serfdom.

The Nation magazine’s shameful history of aiding ethnic cleansing in Palestine

In 2005, Palestinian civil society implored people of conscience around the world to stand up for justice by honoring its call for boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel. A decade later certain segments of the US left are still debating whether this Palestinian request for solidarity is a worthy enough cause.

The Nation magazine, a bastion of progressive journalism, has been at the forefront of indecision on this issue, regularly hosting debates on whether the indigenous non-Jewish inhabitants of historic Palestine merit equal rights in their native land.

New York Post Reports – ABC Signed a $105 Million Contract with George Stephanopoulos Last Year

If the New York Post report is true, ABC News made a monumental financial blunder last year when it signed a $105 million contract to keep George Stephanopoulos as the face of its “news” network.

As I outlined in last week’s post, First Brian Williams, Now George Stephanopoulos Has Lost All Credibility in Latest Mainstream Media Scandal, due to his undisclosed donations to the Clinton Foundation, Mr. Stephanopoulos is now unable to report with any credibility on Hillary Clinton. If he isn’t capable of reporting on Hillary, then he isn’t able of reporting on any aspect of the 2016 Presidential election. So why would he be worth five dollars, let alone $105 million?

Many of the NSA’s Loudest Defenders Have Financial Ties to NSA Contractors

As one example of the opaque link between NSA money and punditry, take the words of Stewart Baker, who was general counsel to the NSA from 1992 through 1994. During a Senate committee hearing last summer on one of the reform bills now before Congress, the USA FREEDOM Act, which would partially limit mass surveillance of telephone metadata, Baker essentially said the bill would aid terrorists.

“First, I do not believe we should end the bulk collection program,” he told the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. “It will put us at risk. It will, as Senator King strongly suggested, slow our responses to serious terrorist incidents. And it is a leap into the dark with respect to this data.”

Brian Anse Patrick - The Ten Commandments of Propaganda

Dr. Brian Anse Patrick is a professor of communication at the University of Toledo. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in research methods, group communication, propaganda and persuasion. He is also a nationally recognized expert on American gun culture as well as the author of many scholarly papers and five books, including The Ten Commandments of Propaganda. In this discussion, we start by looking at the definition of propaganda and where it all began. Brian explains the creation of the Committee on Public Information and its role in persuading American public opinion during World War I, an implementation that would shift other propaganda campaigns into full gear. We consider emotion as an element of propaganda, how human behavior is altered through group interaction, and the need for belonging and an explanation of a higher order that motivates people to buy into marketing schemes.

Losing the American Republic

Decades of letting neocons dictate a hawkish foreign policy have put the American Republic in profound danger, just as presidents from George Washington to Dwight Eisenhower predicted, warnings that Americans must finally take to heart...

We may lament our poverty of leadership, but there are ways to make it function. “Princes,” since long before Machiavelli have always used advisers; some even listened to them. Surely the capable people among us — like the “wise men” who whispered in the ears of those earlier leaders — can guide today’s leaders toward more viable policies and away from the chaos that engulfs us.

WATCH: How the CIA Helped Make “Zero Dark Thirty” Behind the scenes, the CIA secretly worked with the filmmakers, and the movie portrayed the agency’s controversial “enhanced interrogation techniques” — widely described as torture — as a key to uncovering information that led to the finding and killing of bin Laden.
Secrets, Politics and Torture airs Tuesday, May 19 at 10 p.m. EST on PBS (check local listings) and will stream in full, for free, online at pbs.org/frontline.

But in Secrets, Politics and Torture, premiering this Tuesday, May 19 on PBS, FRONTLINE reveals the many challenges to that narrative, and the inside story of how it came to be.

New documentaries probe elaborate cons behind the war on terror ‘mirage’

Before the screening of War of Lies, the film’s German director, Matthias Bittner, was called to the stage and introduced. He said very little, mainly cryptically that “in Germany this film will never be broadcast in a festival – even a student festival – or in a cinema.”

Someone in the audience asked: “Why?”

Bittner didn’t answer. Instead, he shrugged his shoulders and quickly left the stage, pointedly looking at the audience, as if to say: “You decide – after you see the film.”

What the audience saw is that War of Lies exposes, from the inside, that the war on Iraq was based on lies, and that the German security forces were instrumentally involved. From this the audience could infer that this politically embarrassing fact is the reason the German establishment will do all it can to squelch the film.

Obama Gave Up on Ukraine - Press Simply Ignored It

On Tuesday, May 12, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was asked at a press conference in Sochi Russia, to respond to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s recent statements promising renewed war against Donbass, which were made first on April 30, “The war will end when Ukraine regains Donbass and Crimea,” and which were repeated on May 11th, by his saying, “I have no doubt, we will free the [Donetsk] Airport, because it is our land.” In other words, Poroshenko had repeatedly made clear that he plans a third invasion of Donbass, and, ultimately, also to invade and retake Crimea. (The Western press, however, had not reported any of these threats that were being made by Poroshenko.)

Establishment Journalists Pride Themselves on Staying on the Official Rails

In his brilliant analysis in Columbia Journalism Review (3/15/15) of establishment media reaction to Seymour Hersh’s re-examination of the killing of Osama bin Laden (London Review of Books, 5/21/15), the Guardian‘s Trevor Timm notes that one of the put-downs hurled at Hersh to discredit his story is “off the rails”–as in, “In recent years, however, Hersh has appeared increasingly to have gone off the rails,” as Max Fisher put it in his Vox broadside (5/11/15).

US Blinks in Face-Off with Russia

After staring Russia in the face for the best part of a year, the poker-faced Americans finally realized they are holding a bunch of worthless cards. And the Americans blinked.

Last week started with US Secretary of State John Kerry coming to Russia to lay a wreath for the millions of Soviet soldiers who gave their lives in the historic defeat of Nazi Germany. Then the week ended with Kerry’s deputy at the State Department, Victoria Nuland, flying to Moscow to meet Russian officials to discuss implementation of the Minsk ceasefire in Ukraine.

That’s what you might call «America blinking first» in its high-stakes and reckless face-off with Russia over the Ukraine crisis.

We're ruled by a cosy elite who all go to the same dinner parties, says former No10 policy guru chief

David Cameron’s former chief strategist has launched a stinging attack on the ‘insular ruling class’ threatening Britain’s democracy.

Steve Hilton said too many of those at the heart of government go to the same dinner parties and send their children to the same schools.

He said the UK’s political system is now in ‘crisis’ because the same type of people stay in charge whatever the outcome of the elections.

In what will be seen as a criticism of the ‘chumocracy’ of his former boss, Mr Hilton warned: ‘Our democracies are increasingly captured by a ruling class that seeks to perpetuate its privileges.

TLC's Submissive Wives' Guide to Marriage will be the best show ever

"Enter the rarely explored world of submissive wives, where fulfilling one’s husband’s every need is a part of everyday life, with the belief that it only serves to strengthen the marriage. For these women, allowing their husbands to be leaders of the household proves their own trust in them and in God. The hour long special Submissive Wives’ Guide To Marriage chronicles the lives of three married couples, two living in a submissive marriage, and one looking to adapt to this lifestyle to save their marriage."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Claire saw this show and thought it was great. I missed it, and from the title was initially put off. While I have long ago severed any support for feminism following the constant male-bashing always-cry-rape, I see marriage as a partnership. However on reading the reviews of this show (and I will catch the repeat) I have come to understand that the show did not encourage all wives to be submissive, but showcased women who chose a 1950s style marital model and liked it.

I am okay with their making that choice if that is what works. One of my pet peeves with 90s feminism isn't that they wanted women to have a choice to have a career instead of being a house wife, but that all women should want a career, want to leave the house, (in extreme cases, want to be lesbians), and looked on women who wanted to stay home with their children as clearly inferior.

In hindsight, the hijacked latter day gender-feminism (as opposed to the earlier equity-feminism, which we could all agree with) took away one enforced role model for women only to replace it with another. In practical terms, gender-feminism doubled the work force, which doubled the government's taxing opportunities, and made men disposable to send off to wars. In hindsight, it was a repeat of the "Rosie the Riveter" propaganda of WW2.

In the end, it comes down to choice. For women who choose to have a career, go for it! But the same should apply to women who want to be stay-at-home mothers. And I note that the feminists have slammed this show, and are all over social media claiming that women who want to stay at home and raise their children are (direct quote) "worthless leaches."

No, they aren't. Such women contribute to the world in a way the feminists do not approve of, and that is what the feminists are upset about; losing control. No longer being seen as the trend setters.

From an economics point of view, a reversal of the feminist trend makes sense. With jobs in such short supply, a return to the single-job household makes a great deal of sense.

BEX Alert!!! - "Auschwitz 'hell on Earth': RT correspondent spends night at Nazi death camp"

Auschwitz is “hell on Earth,” said RT’s Paula Slier after spending a night at the former Nazi concentration camp where scores of Jews were killed during WWII. The trip was a part of Slier’s documentary, in which she traces her relatives' Holocaust horror.

“It was extremely evocative. Auschwitz [Nazi concentration camp built in occupied Poland] is hell on Earth. And when you go to hell at night and you have the watchtowers and the barbed wire casting their shadows, and almost following you around everywhere, it’s almost terrifying if you like,” Slier said in an interview to RT.

America’s war of words with Russia is no laughing matter

The positive message that the West once offered to Russia during the waning days of the Cold War - democracy, freedom, respect for human dignity - has been replaced by a starkly negative message that encourages confrontation rather than engagement. Instead of telling Russians how great things are in America, the new strategy seems to be telling Russians how terrible things are in their own country. In the lexicon of political campaigns, America is going negative.

The New York Times Endorses Israeli Mass Slaughtering Palestinians by Refusing to Condemn It

The Times supports Israel’s worst crimes – wrongfully blaming them on victims. It outrageously calls Hamas a terrorist organization.

It’s Palestine’s legitimate government – democratically elected in January 2006. Claiming it wants Israel destroyed is false.

It long ago expressed willingness to sacrifice 78% of historic Palestine in return for remaining land within June 1967 borders – with East Jerusalem its exclusive capital.

Is Washington Coming To Its Senses? — Paul Craig Roberts

There is much speculation about US Secretary of State John Kerry’s rush visit to Russia in the wake of Russia’s successful Victory Day celebration on May 9. On May 11, Kerry, who was snubbing Russia on the 9th, was on his way to Russia, and Putin consented to see him on May 12.

As time passes we will find out why Kerry was snubbing Putin on May 9 and 3 days later was criticizing Washington’s puppet regime in Ukraine. For what is known at this time, a possible explanation is that Washington is coming to its senses.

Pentagon Paid Sports Franchises to Salute Troops and “Conjure Up Feelings of Patriotism and Pride”

Stadium salutes to soldiers were paid promos for the military machine:

The Pentagon would have to justify the military necessity of spending millions on sports sponsorships under a measure approved Thursday by the Senate.

[…]

“giving taxpayer funds to professional sports teams for activities that are portrayed to the public as paying homage to U.S. military personnel would seem inappropriate.

“Such promotions conjure up feelings of patriotism and pride for most sports fans, and the revelation that these are in fact paid arrangements is disappointing.”

Aipac Wants Congress to Criminalize BDS

Of all the lame-brained, lumpen-brained, hare-brained schemes emanating from Aipac’s lobby shop, this is one of the truly lamest. As Israel forms the most dangerous, aggressive, racist government in its history, Aipac thought this was a good time to remind the American people of that by conniving to amend an already contentious fast-track trade bill with a new amendment that would criminalize BDS in the U.S.
