The swans that say we're in for a freezing winter: Arrival of Russian Bewicks from Siberia is earliest for 50 years and could herald harsh weather

Swooping in with the brisk Arctic winds, the Bewick’s swan traditionally heralds the beginning of winter.

And now the Russian bird has made its earliest-ever arrival in Britain – bearing an icy omen for a long, cold winter ahead.

Migrating 2,500 miles from the depths of Siberia, the first swan touched down on Sunday at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust reserve at Slimbridge, Gloucestershire.

But while the magnificent bird was probably relieved to reach the warmer climes of the UK, its arrival – the earliest in 50 years – may well usher in a particularly harsh and unforgiving winter.

Britain faces longest winter in 50 years after earliest ever arrival of Siberian swan

Britain is facing its longest winter in 50 years after the earliest-ever arrival of a Siberian swan which traditionally heralds the start of the season.

Each year around 300 Bewick's swans migrate 2,500 miles from Arctic Russia to escape the approaching cold weather which follows closely behind them.

They flock to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust reserve at Slimbridge, Glos, where their arrival has been recorded since 1963.

Obama: My Idea Of World Leadership Is Fighting Climate Change

President Obama indicates that when it comes to world leadership, he has mostly disdain for people who compare him to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

When challenged by “60 Minutes” interviewer Steve Kroft about ceding leadership in the Middle East to Putin, Obama argued that leadership on climate change was more important than leadership to combat terrorism.

Get ready for a big temperature drop in Michigan this week

Don't get fooled by the warm temperatures this weekend and today. There is a big temperature drop coming in Michigan this week.

The graphics above show the high temperatures each day from Monday through Saturday.

The temperature drop will come in two phases. The first phase will be the biggest. Around a 20-degree temperature drop will be felt between today and tomorrow.

The second wave of colder temperatures will drift into Lower Michigan Friday into Saturday.

By Saturday, high temperatures will struggle to hit 50 degrees.

BEX ALERT - Could ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ happen?

Although the scientific credibility of the film drew criticism from climate scientists, the scenario of an abrupt collapse of the AMOC, as a consequence of anthropogenic greenhouse warming, was never assessed with a state-of-the-art climate model. Now scientists have found that, for a period of 20 years, the earth will cool instead of warm if global warming and a collapse of the AMOC occur simultaneously.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Another pathetic attempt to prop up global warming in the face of cold winters. Folks, I worked on that movie, and that is all it is, just a movie, and has no more connection with reality than these computer models.

Britain's commitment to climate aid is immoral

The decision by the Conservative government to spend 50% more on so-called "climate aid" is a feel-good policy that does little for the world’s poorest or the planet. It is part of an indefensible international movement towards ever greater chunk of aid going towards climate.

The money – £5.8 billion – is to be diverted from the United Kingdom’s overseas aid budget to its International Climate Fund over the next five years.

In a world where malnourishment continues to claim at least 1.4 million children’s lives, 1.2 billion people live in extreme poverty, and 2.6 billion lack clean drinking water and sanitation, diverting scarce resources from aid that address these obvious challenges to climate policies is not only wasteful; it is immoral.

Oops -- The Climate Scammers Lose

A MATHEMATICAL discovery by Perth-based electrical engineer Dr David Evans may change everything about the climate debate, on the eve of the UN climate change conference in Paris next month.
A former climate modeller for the Government’s Australian Greenhouse Office, with six degrees in applied mathematics, Dr Evans has unpacked the architecture of the basic climate model which underpins all climate science.

He has found that, while the underlying physics of the model is correct, it had been applied incorrectly.

He has fixed two errors and the new corrected model finds the climate’s sensitivity to carbon dioxide (CO2) is much lower than was thought.

It turns out the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has over-estimated future global warming by as much as 10 times, he says.

    The Thousand Year Rainfall Fallacy

Every time we get a big rain in the US, climate morons start claiming it was a 1,000 year event

So what are they doing wrong?

Your odds of winning the lottery are very small, but the odds of someone winning the lottery are quite high. What these geniuses are doing is conflating the odds of one individual station getting a 20 inch rain, with the odds of any station getting a 20 inch rain.

Big rains are not rare in the US. Alvin, Texas got 43 inches of rain in one day in 1979.

Lewis accused the American Physical Society of supporting “the global warming scam, with the trillions of dollars driving it that has corrupted so many scientists.” The physicist’s letter contained a number of complaints, including the APS’ lack of a response to his endeavours to gather a committee to evaluate evidence for a human link to climate change. Lewis revealed that global warming was “the greatest and most successful pseudoscientific fraud” he has even seen in his career.

MASSIVE GLOBAL COOLING process discovered as Paris climate deal looms

As world leaders get ready to head to Paris for the latest pact on cutting CO2 emissions, it has emerged that there isn't as much urgency about the matter as had been thought.

A team of top-level atmospheric chemistry boffins from France and Germany say they have identified a new process by which vast amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted into the atmosphere from the sea - a process which was unknown until now, meaning that existing climate models do not take account of it.

The effect of VOCs in the air is to cool the climate down, and thus climate models used today predict more warming than can actually be expected.

Rush Limbaugh: NASA Using Mars as Proof of Climate Change

Radio host Rush Limbaugh came down hard Monday on NASA's claim of finding water on Mars, stating that the dubious science would be used to promote the climate change agenda here on Earth.

Limbaugh read from a U.S. News & World Report article on the finding, saying, "quote, 'Eons ago, ancient Mars had "an extensive atmosphere," along with "an ocean two-thirds the size of the northern hemisphere and a mile deep," said Jim Green, director of planetary science at NASA said during a press conference on Monday.'

    Webmaster's Commentary:

The Carbonazis have tried to use Mars as a scarecrow, claiming that if we humans do not change our ways, Earth will lose most of its atmosphere and water the way Mars did.

But there is another factor they are ignoring.

If you look at a height map of Mars...

... you will notice a huge bulge in the planet underneath the Tharsis region, where the massive volcanoes are located. On almost the opposite side of Mars is a feature called Hellas, which is clearly the remains of a massive impact.

An impact sufficient to create such a vast crater and bulge out the opposite side of Mars, would "splash" the planet's atmosphere and water out into space, and I suggest that this event, rather than Martian Caused Barsoomic Warming, is why Mars has scant atmosphere and water today.

This year’s El Niño weather pattern could be strongest on record

Climate scientists are better prepared than ever with prediction models and data on El Niño patterns, but the impact of this El Niño in the Northern Hemisphere is hard to forecast because there is also an Arctic warming effect at work on the Atlantic jetstream current.

    Webmaster's Commentary:

The Carbonazis are pointing to El Nino as support for their various theories about human-caused global warming, and I love where they claim to have models that predict the El Nino patterns. I hate to rain on their parade .... no, wait, yes I do! But they are claiming to predict a phenomenon that is unpredictable. Take a look at the following map.

This is a thermal image of the El Nino current, appearing mid-Pacific and flowing with the current towards the western edge of the Americas.

    Now look at this.

This is a map of the known undersea volcanoes, and as you can see circled in red there are a large number of active volcanoes on the floor of the pacific in the same area that the El Nino current appears. I stress that these are only the known volcanoes. There are likely to be many more in what is clearly an unstable part of Earth's crust. As more of the volcanoes erupt, El Nino gets hotter. As the eruptions subside, El Nino gets cooler. But nobody can predict volcanic eruptions, even here on the surface, let alone in the abyssal plains of the deep oceans!

Powers agree on climate, not on human rights

US President Barack Obama and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping have vowed to fight global warming and halt commercial cyber theft, but exchanged sharp words on human rights and territorial disputes.

At an extraordinary joint news conference, Obama chided China on its treatment of dissidents and insisted hacking attacks on US firms must stop, even as he thanked Xi for his commitment on climate change.

The world's top two economic powers are also its biggest polluters, and campaigners hailed their commitment to reduce emissions as a key step toward a global climate pact before the end of the year.

This achievement was all the more remarkable given the tensions over industrial espionage and China's aggressive moves to seize disputed territory in the South China Sea.

The red carpet and full ceremonial honours that welcomed Xi to the White House underlined the importance of the great powers' relationship, but the leaders made no effort to conceal their differences.

Rise of sea levels is ‘the greatest lie ever told’

Although the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) only predicts a sea level rise of 59cm (17 inches) by 2100, Al Gore in his Oscar-winning film An Inconvenient Truth went much further, talking of 20 feet, and showing computer graphics of cities such as Shanghai and San Francisco half under water. We all know the graphic showing central London in similar plight. As for tiny island nations such as the Maldives and Tuvalu, as Prince Charles likes to tell us and the Archbishop of Canterbury was again parroting last week, they are due to vanish.

Volkswagen Scandal 2015: VW Not The First Automaker To Adopt 'Defeat Devices' And Override Emissions Controls

The scandal unfolding at Volkswagen Group around its pollution control systems may be the largest case of its kind in the U.S., but it’s far from the first. Environmental regulators in recent decades have launched more than a dozen cases against automakers, accusing them of tweaking or outfitting diesel engines to outsmart pollution tests meant to improve air quality. The result is thousands of recalled or upgraded vehicles -- and millions of tons of toxic air particles spewing into the air.

    Greenland Temperatures Plummeting

Barack Obama’s climate fraud depends on fear of Greenland melting and drowning Florida, so you won’t hear any government agencies discussing the fact that Greenland temperatures are plummeting and are the coldest since Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1992.

UN seeks carbon offset market boost with new "Climate Neutral Now" initiative

The UN is today calling on businesses and individuals to reduce and offset their carbon footprints through a new international initiative dubbed Climate Neutral Now.

The programme, which is being launched as part of New York Climate Week, calls on individuals, governments and businesses to measure their carbon emissions, reduce their carbon footprint, and then offset their outstanding emissions by purchasing UN-certified carbon credits.

Is NOAA Altering Weather Data Ahead of the Big UN Climate Change Meeting?

It has been suggested, with evidence, that NOAA has been a little less than forthcoming with temperature data this year ahead of all these big UN meetings addressing Agenda 21 and climate change. I'm sorry, did I say "a little less than forthcoming"? If this is true, I meant to say a bunch of big fat liars.

It has been announced that more than 190 countries are set to meet in Paris in December to see about a "new global agreement on climate change aimed at reducing global greenhouse gas emissions and thus avoiding the threat of dangerous climate change" since the current "commitments" on emissions run out in five years.

    Record Sea Ice Growth Continues

The Arctic is blowing away all records for sea ice growth this September, after a record short melt season. Over the past two weeks, half a million km² of new ice has formed, during a time when ice is normally being lost.

Rising CO2 levels are re-greening Africa's deserts, bringing abundance that lifts people out of poverty

Climate change, a phrase that typically instills fear in society, is being eyed by Arizona State University as something that could be beneficial. Contrary to those who view climate change as only having catastrophic consequences, experts from the university suggest that it is responsible for re-greening parts of the world and changing lives for the better.

Experts from the university engaged in a study that ultimately showed that the West African Sahel, the strip south of the Sahara desert, has been "regreening" ever since droughts in the 1970s and 80s killed more than 100,000 people. They maintain that increased rainfall caused by climate change has led to more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which has spurred more plant growth and community-led farming efforts.

The region is turning around and experiencing a vast change from the drought and deaths that once plagued it. The area is greening, plants are growing, and people are coming together.

"One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back." -- Carl Sagan

FLASHBACK - Red tape keeps some bad gov't workers from being fired

In the private sector, if you're caught viewing porn on company time or intimidating a co-worker, you'd probably be fired immediately; not so if you're a federal employee.

A CBS News investigation looks at how hard it is for the U.S. government to discipline or fire employees who behave badly. With examples ranging from extravagant to explicit, civil service rules meant to protect public workers from political pressure may be backfiring, and costing you big, reports CBS News correspondent Don Dahler.

At the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), red tape is preventing the removal of a top level employee accused of viewing porn two to six hours a day while at work, since 2010. Even though investigators found 7,000 pornographic files on his computer and even caught him watching porn, he remains on the payroll.

BEX ALERT - Global warming contributed to Syria's 2011 uprising, scientists claim

Brace yourself for a VERY cold winter: Forecasters warn recent bad weather could be start of most powerful El Nino phenomenon since 1950

Summer may barely be over, but you might want to start digging out your cosiest winter woollies.

Dramatic weather seen across the country yesterday could be just the start of a particularly harsh winter, warn forecasters.

Meteorologists say conditions this year could mirror those of 2009/2010 – which saw the coldest January in decades.

BEX ALERT - 9/11 and Global Warming: Are They Both False Conspiracy Theories?

In particular, if it is assumed that 9/11 was indeed an inside job, would this assumption provide a good basis for suspecting that the theory of global warming has resulted from a deceitful conspiracy?

    Webmaster's Commentary:

So, the gist of this article is that even though we all know the government lied about the torpedoes in the Gulf of Tonkin, Spanish mines in Havana Harbor, Lusitania not carrying weapons, Saddam's nuclear bombs, etc. etc. etc. we should trust that same government when it tells us human activity is warming the Earth and we should pay carbon taxes to atone, even though back in the 1990s they were saying human caused global warming meant snow was a thing of the past while today they claim human-caused global warming causes record-setting winters!

    Webmaster's Commentary:

This starts out with your usual wag the Holocaust imagery, then mutates to suggest that humanity faces a new holocaust unless we all agree to pay carbon taxes, buy and sell carbon credits, allow a global environmental authority to decide how we should all live, yadda yadda yadda yadda.

Axial Seamount eruption of April 2015 confirmed, US

The April 2015 eruption of the Axial Seamount underwater volcano has been confirmed by the latest research of the University of Washington (UW) OOI Cabled Array group. The eruption was predicted in 2014 and is currently the most accurate eruption forecast of this volcano made so far.

    Webmaster's Commentary:

Just a reminder that there are active volcanoes on the ocean floor, especially under where the El Nino current emerges. Nobody knows where all of them are and as this article shows, they are not always sure when they erupt. Autumn arrives Monday -- maybe record cold

Locate those glows, scarves and heavy coats! Autumn arrives Monday morning.

Okay, so that's a bit of a stretch and by stretch I support hose don't even give that much. However, there will be a noticeable change in the air as we kick off the new work week.

Indications over the past few days continue to indicate that the seasons first strong front will arrive Sunday afternoon bringing with it what could be a strong line of showers and thunderstorms.

Some areas along I-75 and inland Georgia may see the mercury drop to the mid to upper 50s while areas inside 295 will see the lower 60s, still plenty of reason to be excited.
