Third US Navy ship heads for Georgia

A third U.S. Navy ship carrying humanitarian aid is crossing the Turkish Straits on its way to Georgia.

The USS Mount Whitney steamed through the Dardanelles early Wednesday and was expected to pass through the Bosporus later in the day. The two Turkish-controlled straits link the Mediterranean to the Black Sea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What will the consequences be if Russia demands to inspect this ship, or any of the others, and wants to pull a manifest?

If the cargo is other than humanitarian supplies, this could be a very serious embarrassment for the US, if not worse.
