Attorney General Michael Mukasey intends to let Congress have its say before signing controversial new guidelines that reportedly broaden the FBI's authority to conduct investigations. But he will not delay their implementation.
But the letter says Mukasey is committed to rolling out the guidelines in October.
Under Mukasey's watch, this country is reverting back to what can only be described as "Code Napoleon Law".
This was a legal system under which people were presumed guilty until proven innocent.
This is the absolute antithesis of the supposed bedrock foundation of US law, which is the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
