Hidden wounds: Soldiers suffer from the trauma of war

A Rand Corp. study found that nearly one in five soldiers will suffer from mental health problems caused by the trauma of war and the stress of multiple deployments.
That's an alarming statistic for anywhere in America. But it could have far-reaching consequences in Cumberland County, where most of the 50,000 soldiers based at Fort Bragg live. This year, almost all of them are home at once for one of the few times since Sept. 11, 2001.
