Afghan civilian war injuries double in Kandahar conflict

Wounded patients flooding into hospitals, says Red Cross, while fighting is stopping the sick getting basic medical care

The number of Afghan civilians hospitalised for serious war wounds has doubled in 12 months in Kandahar, the focus of an ongoing US-led campaign against Taliban strongholds.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We are fighting a war herewhich cannot be won militarily.

Every time an innocent civilian is killed or maimed, courtesy of US and NATO firepower, it is simply pushing those left standing into the waiting embrace of the insurgency.

The Afghan people do not "hate us because we are free": they hate us because we're killing and maiming their moms, grandfathers, sisters, cousins, and aunts.

They see the US and NATO as occupying forces, and they want their country back.
