Saudi DM Threatens to Occupy Kuwait

Saudi Defense Minister Mohammad bin Salman threatened to launch war on Kuwait after differences between the two Persian Gulf Arab states escalated over Khafji oilfield.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This puts the US Government in a bit of a pickle! The First invasion of Iraq began when Saddam Hussein, encouraged by April Glaspie, invaded Kuwait over allegations that Kuwait was slant-drilling under the border into Iraqi oil fields. The resulting war was sold to the American people with the hoax about stolen incubators.

So, will the US simply abandon Kuwait now, admitting that Kuwait was just an excuse for Desert Storm, or will there be another hoax to sell an invasion of Saudi Arabia?

Erdogan and Netanyahu Declare War

The rulers of the two most powerful authoritarian regimes in the Middle East are launching major wars to reconfigure the Middle East. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has declared war by proxy on Iran, announcing full-scale military mobilization within Israel (July 27 -29) and organizing the biggest political campaign of ultra Zionist Jews in Washington. The purpose of this two-pronged propaganda blitz is to defeat the recently signed US-Iranian agreement and start another major Middle East war. Ultimately, Netanyahu intends to take care of his ‘Palestinian Problem’ for good: complete the conquest and occupation of Palestine and expelling the Palestinian people from their homeland – the single most important foreign policy and domestic goal of the Jewish state. In order to do this, Israeli leaders have had to systematically campaign for the destruction of the Palestinians regional supporters and sympathizers – Iraq, Libya, Syria, Lebanon and Iran.

CALLS FOR BOYCOTT OVER G4S PROFITEERING FROM ISRAELI APARTHEID

G4S, the controversial British-Danish private security firm, has come under fire for its long-term contracts with the Israeli government, which allows the company to profiteer from the Israeli apartheid, occupation and imprisonment of Palestinian political prisoners. Many of these prisoners are held without trial and subjected to torture at interrogation centres. G4S also provides equipment and services for illegal Israeli settlements, including screening equipment at military checkpoints.

HOW US ALLIES AID AL QAEDA IN SYRIA

ARMY HAS PLANS FOR REAL, LIVE KILLER ROBOT SWARMS

Leading scientists including Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk, and Steve Wozniak penned an open letter last week demanding a ban on autonomous weapons (i.e. killer robots). If the smartest minds of our time are demanding this, shouldn’t we think about it? On top of that, new information has come forward that the military is planning to have killer robots that act in swarms by 2050. They would be devoid of human oversight and act as judge, jury, and execution. This video by RedactedTonight puts a little comedy into the subject – but that doesn’t mean this is a joke!

In Washington, War Is Peace

The “US Institute of Peace” is a coven of warmongers.
The Intercept has an article on the “U.S. Institute of Peace,” a government agency founded in 1984 supposedly dedicated to promoting “nonviolent resolution of conflicts”: author Lee Fang is shocked – shocked! – that USIP chairman Stephen J. Hadley, a former national security advisor to George W. Bush, wants to arm Ukraine so as to impress Putin with the sight of “body bags of Russian soldiers who have been killed.” Yet the USIP has long been a site of neoconservative infection inside the national security bureaucracy.

"It May Come To A Military Coup": Ukraine's "Nazis" Threaten To Overthrow Government

Like Saint Mary (the militia which recently pledged to create a "Christian Taliban" and insists that "Moscow must burn"), The Right Sector is one of the many volunteer battalions fighting to rout the Russian-backed separatists operating in eastern Ukraine. As discussed here on Sunday by Justin Raimondo, "the Right Sector and allied far-rightist militias are the core of [Kiev’s] military operation against the east. Right Sector provided the muscle of the Maidan revolution, standing in the front lines against the widely feared Berkut special forces loyal to Yanukovych. If these thugs must be reined in, then the success of the 'anti-terrorist' campaign is doubtful: yet Kiev is increasingly unwilling to pay the high price of appeasing their increasingly troublesome Praetorians." To let FT tell it, these "troublesome Praetorians" may be set to overthrow the government in what Right Sector leader Dmytro Yarosh calls a "new phase of the Ukrainian revolution."

US-NATO War Games on Russia’s Doorstep, Russia’s Military Drills and Deployments

This year NATO has increased the number of military exercises near Russian borders from 90-95 to 150 and the number of reconnaissance aviation flights has increased by 9 times since last year. Iran’s “nuclear problem” has been settled, but the United States is continuing the development of a missile defense system in Europe aimed almost exclusively at Russia. The Russian Federation must take military and technical measures in response to the U.S. missile “defense” system in Europe, NATO military activity and other security threats in Russia’s backyard.

Anti-torture reforms opposed within psychology group after damning report

Opposition is building to intended anti-torture reforms within the largest professional organization of psychologists in the US, which faces a crossroads over what a recent report described as its past support for brutal military and CIA interrogations.

Before the American Psychological Association (APA) meets in Toronto next Thursday for what all expect will be a fraught convention that reckons with an independent review that last month found the APA complicit in torture, former military voices within the profession are urging the organization not to participate in what they describe as a witch hunt.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF members of this association are brought up on charges of collusion with the intent to torture, so be it.

The APA should renounce torture, and refuse to engage in it for the military, period, end of discussion.

TORTURE RARELY, IF EVER, RESULTS IN ACTIONABLE INTELLIGENCE.

But I will tell you what happens when this country tortures, or outsources torture: the world realizes that the alleged US values of humanity, decency, and democracy, are only truly practiced in the breach, and US torture gives any other country's leadership carte blanche to do the same to American civilians and service personnel also.

Obama’s “Safe Zone” in Syria will Inflame the War Zone

The road to war is paved with a thousand lies. A fresh fib was tossed on the lie-cluttered warpath to Syria, when it was announced that the U.S. and Turkey would create a “safe zone” inside of Syria — supposedly to be aimed against ISIS.

This “safe zone” is a major escalation of war, but it was described in soft tones by the media, sounding almost cuddly. In reality, however, a “safe zone” is a “no-fly zone,” meaning that a nation is planning to implement military air superiority inside the boundaries of another nation. It’s long recognized by the international community and U.S. military personnel as a major act of war. In a war zone an area is made “safe” by destroying anything in it or around that appears threatening.

Turkey has been demanding this no-fly zone from Obama since the Syrian war started. It’s been discussed throughout the conflict and even in recent months, though the intended goal was always the Syrian government.

In 2012, the Evansville Police Department conducted a SWAT raid on an elderly woman and her two daughters who had committed no crime. After years of attempting to escape liability and hide the body cam footage, on Friday, a federal appeals court ruled that the EPD “committed too many mistakes” to be shielded from liability in the homeowner’s lawsuit. The negligence of the department in the wrongful raid of Louise Milan’s home was so atrocious that the official ruling compared them to the fictional Keystone Kops of the early 20th century silent film.

Migrant flow to Europe is result of US, EU military ops in Middle East – Czech president

The flow of immigrants to Europe stems from the Western states’ military interventions in Iraq, Libya and Syria, which have contributed to the emergence of terrorist groups in the Middle East, Czech President Milosh Zeman told local media.

“The current wave of migration [to Europe] is rooted in the crazy [US] idea to launch an intervention in Iraq, which allegedly had weapons of mass destruction, but nothing was found,” Zeman said in a video interview with the Czech Repubic’s Blesk newspaper published on Sunday.

On top of this, the US’ desire to “restore order” in Libya and Syria only resulted in the escalation of conflicts in both countries and the emergence of terrorist organizations, prompting people to flee the area, Zeman said.

He added that not only the US was to blame for the migrant chaos, but its Western allies that helped to “coordinate operations in Libya” as well.

The Fake War on ISIS: US and Turkey Escalate in Syria

The western public is told that “This is a significant shift…It’s a big deal,” as a US military official told the Wall Street Journal. What the corporate media fail to mention, however, is the fact that Turkey has been, and continues to be, a central actor in the war in Syria and, consequently, in the development and maintenance of ISIS. So, while Washington waxes poetic about stepping up the fight against the terror group, and lauds the participation of its allies in Ankara, the barely concealed fact is that Turkey is merely further entrenching itself in a war that it has fomented.

Obama Orders Airstrikes to Defend ISIS in Syria

Previous articles explained what Western officials and media scoundrels suppress. ISIS or ISIL or IS are US recruited, trained, armed, funded and directed Pentagon proxy foot soldiers doing Obama’s dirty work - to destabilize and/or topple governments where they’re deployed.

Using them is part of Washington’s imperial strategy for unchallenged global dominance. They’re likely to show up almost anywhere. Mass slaughter, destruction, brutal atrocities and human misery follow - notably in Syria and Iraq.

On August 2, the Wall Street Journal headlined “US to Defend New Syria Force From Assad Regime.” The so-called “new” force is the old one. They’re not Syrian rebels or others supporting the rights of its people.

They’re US enlisted death squads - cutthroat killers, trained in the art of committing the most brutal acts of murder, torture and other atrocities, including use of chemical and other illegal weapons.

Power in the service of Power

Samantha Power has become something of an expert at Russia-bashing and using fiery rhetoric for her selective political aims at the UN Security Council.

The US, as with other NATO states, has set itself up as jury and judge on the MH17 tragedy, and has already decided on Russia’s guilt over the incident. From the outset, Western governments and media have insinuated that Russia or “Russian-backed rebels” in eastern Ukraine are the perpetrators. The case has already been poisoned with politicized prejudice, without any evidence. As Christopher Black, a respected international war crimes lawyer, has pointed out to this author, the tribunal proposed by the NATO countries would have been used as “a trap” to incriminate Russia and possibly even indict President Vladimir Putin for having ultimate responsibility.

The Imperial Designs on Iran

The Masters of the Universe seem to believe that the “pivot to Asia” won’t work if Iran is not part, as a vassal state, of the imperial design for Southwest Asia. Well, listen to Khamenei; that won’t happen.

So what is the Obama administration really up to in Iran? What sort of strategic calculations have led to what for the moment looks like a tactical geopolitical shift?

President Obama certainly concluded that the 36-year-long Wall of Mistrust against Iran was bound to fail. The real Masters of the Universe in Washington – those who control the deep state – always knew that the “nuclear weapons” hysteria was bogus. That was part of a strategic decision to keep the Islamic Republic isolated from the West as long as possible, and ultimately force regime change.

The Hunt for Red October

As a Social Democrat government came to power in September 2014, the Swedish Army, Navy and pro-NATO media plotted to prevent a possible rapprochement of Russia and Sweden.

Washington’s Fifth Columns Inside Russia and China

Russia and China finally caught on. It is amazing that the governments of the two countries that Washington regards as "threats" were so tolerant of foreign-financed NGOs for so long.

Americans need to understand that the biggest threat to them resides entirely in the crazed neoconservative ideology of Washington’s hegemony over the world and over the American people, Paul Craig Roberts believes.

It took two decades for Russia and China to understand that “pro-democracy” and “human rights” organizations operating within their countries were subversive organizations funded by the US Department of State and a collection of private American foundations organized by Washington. The real purpose of these non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is to advance Washington’s hegemony by destabilizing the two countries capable of resisting US hegemony.

The Fake War on ISIS: US and Turkey Escalate in Syria

It is late July 2015, and the media is abuzz with the news that Turkey will allow US jets to use its bases to bomb Islamic State (ISIS) targets in Syria. There is much talk about how this development is a “game-changer,” and how this is a clear escalation of the much ballyhooed, but more fictional than real, US war on ISIS: the terror organization that US intelligence welcomed as a positive development in 2012 in their continued attempts to instigate regime change against the Syrian government led by Bashar al-Assad.

The US-China Standoff in the Indo-Asia-Pacific Region

The US sea services have released a new maritime strategy, a plan that describes how the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard will design, organize, and employ naval forces in support its global dominance. The new strategy titled, “A Cooperative Strategy for 21st Century Seapower” highlighted “forward,” “engaged,” and “ready” as key words and kept the original theme of “ensuring our capability to intervene overseas.” It calls for increasing the Navy’s forward presence to 120 ships by 2020, up from about 97 ships today.

Webmaster's Commentary:

China and Russia are doing deals to achieve what they want geopolitically; the US government is either at war, or preparing for more war, to achieve their geopolitical ends.

What is wrong with this picture?!? Bloody everything!!

And with the US government and corporate elites, it is never their kids who wind up dying, or maimed for life in these wars; it's always other people's children.

Please remember; there is a bill, which has been sitting in Committee for two years now, to revive the draft in this country. And this time, the draft will not only be coming for our young men: it will be coming for our young women as well.

It would appear that Congress is waiting for the "right psychological/economic moment" to vote on it.

NAVAL OFFICER THAT STOPPED ACTIVE SHOOTER TO FACE CHARGES FOR DISCHARGING WEAPON

On the morning of July 16th, 2015, Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez, a 24-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen from Kuwait, went on a bloody shooting-spree at two federal offices. First, he shot up the military recruiting center on Old Lee Highway in Chattanooga, and then sped 7-miles away to perform a second attack on the U.S. Naval and Marine Reserve Center on Amnicola Highway.

At the second location, Abdulazeez crashed his rented Ford Mustang through a gate and began shooting outside the U.S. Naval and Marine Reserve Center, indiscriminately firing at any target he saw. Although the building contained dozens of trained U.S. servicemen, Department of Defense regulations require them to be disarmed on federal property. Abdulazeez held the upper hand and murdered several unarmed marines, and continued his attack for several minutes until a secretly-armed Naval officer engaged him in a firefight, along with responding Chattanooga police officers.

I would seriously suggest that this story be shared with ANYONE contemplating enlisting in the US's Armed Forces.

The fact that Benjamin's name is so relatively unknown is, ironically, testament to the awesome "behind-the-scenes" power that he wielded. Unfortunately for the South (and the North), Benjamin's influence served neither of the Americas. His loyalties lay elsewhere - in Rothschild's London!

The Look of Silence: Finding our Humanity in the Face of Genocide

Our challenge today is to harness the good in ourselves, to be more humane, more gentle, more caring, to treat each being in our world as someone of infinite worth. As technology gives us access to the far reaches of the globe, we must see that infinite worth in a man or woman in Sumatra who now has to live next to the man who tortured and killed their loved one, as we also strive to see it in our neighbor at home.

When we use atrocity to inspire us to act, to ask the right questions, to reach across the globe and try to stop someone from being killed or suffering, our world will become a more livable one. Only then will we be able to hope to turn back the tide on genocide.

Greece – And the Horror of Europe

Dear Reader, this is as far as we have fallen since the ascent of neoliberalism in the last twenty-some years. No ethics, no moral, no law, just coercion for greed and ultimate hegemony – enslavement of the people while and after they are lulled and dulled with lies 24/7.

According to UNHCR about 50 million refugees are on the move every day on our globe. This is most likely an understatement, as this figure doesn’t take into account what takes place in the almost hermetically closed-off Central Africa, Congo, Zaïre, where western corporations are exploiting for a pittance and with millions of slaves precious metals, uranium, hydrocarbons and rare earths – and where millions have died over the past ten years, by butcher regimes supported and armed by the west – and where millions are on the run.

The real figure of refugees on the run is easily 60 to 65 million;

Iran Political Fulmination Versus Diplomatic Deal

Viewers and readers should question polls, whether reported by CNN or Fox or MSNBC with the same vigor the old Chicago News Bureau once counseled, “If your mother says she loves you, check it out”.

Blessings upon New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof for pointing out that “fulmination” is the right word to describe opposition to the diplomatic deal President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry have just reached with Iran and the P5+1 major world powers.

The P5+1 offers a strong array of international powers. The term P5+1 refers to the UN Security Council’s five permanent members (the P5); namely China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States; plus Germany.

The PPP poll finds that “there’s strong support nationally for the Iran deal, that voters want their members of Congress to let it move forward, and that there’s no potential political backlash for members who do support the deal”.

What disturbs me about the case is that it is Pollard, who spied for a foreign country, who is released. In contrast, Manning and Snowden who spied for the American people are locked away, Manning in a federal prison and Snowden in his Russian exile. Julian Assange, who merely did his job as a journalist and made available to newspapers documents leaked to him, is confined to the Ecuadoran embassy in London.

FLASHBACK - MAJESTIC MEMORIES

The town I grew up in in New England farming country was even smaller than the film's fictional town of Lawson, California. Loudon, New Hampshire didn't have a movie theater open or closed, and still doesn't. However, like the fictional town of Lawson, the town I grew up in had lost many men in World War II. I was just a child in those post war years, one of the generation later called the baby boomers, but I recall the plaques, the flags, the ribbons, the special emphasis on memorial day, and the markers on the stones in the cemetery behind the church on the hill, identifying where the men had died, and where in some cases, their bodies were presumed to remain. Every family, including my own, had lost people. Parents grieved for lost sons, siblings for lost brothers, wives for lost husbands. Bedrooms were still kept pristine, filled with the artifacts of an innocent childhood, waiting for occupants who would never return.

10 top secret military bases that the government doesn’t want you to know about

Escondido, CA — It should come as no surprise that with an annual military budget of over $610 billion, the United States invests in some gargantuan black ops and top secret facilities. These include warfare testing, nuclear bunkers, chemical experimentation,Continuance of Government (COG) command centers, and a wide variety of both known and unknown contingency preparation.

Some of the facilities, like the infamous Area 51, are well-branded into

All wars paid for through deficit financing, debasing the currency – Ron Paul to RT

“Almost all wars, in a hundred years or so, have been paid for through inflation, that is debasing the currency,” he said, adding that this has been going on “for hundreds, if not thousands of years.”

According to Paul, the practice always ends badly because “the people realize that the money has been debased, and all that does is push up prices.”

The Bureau of Investigative Journalism (BIJ), a UK-based nonprofit, conducted a six-month probe into the US military’s contracting of drone data analysts, using specially designed software to sift through some 8 million transaction records published by the Pentagon between 2009 to 2014. Almost all wars have been paid for through inflation, three-time presidential candidate and former Congressman Ron Paul told RT, adding the practice always ends badly as currency becomes debased leading to upward pressure on prices.

Paul was talking to RT’s Watching the Hawks program about his new book ‘Swords into Plowshares,’ which gives insight into a 20th century full of war, killing, and corruption.

BILL ALLOWS GOVERNMENT TO REVOKE AMERICANS’ PASSPORTS WITHOUT CHARGES OR TRIAL

A bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives would allow the government to restrict Americans’ travel through the revocation of passports based upon mere suspicions of unscrupulous activity. This bill represents another dangerous step forward in the war on terror and the disintegration of American due process. H.R. 237, the “FTO (Foreign Terrorist Organization) Passport Revocation Act of 2015,” will allow the U.S. Secretary of State the unchecked authority to prohibit individuals from traveling internationally. According to the bill, the Secretary may unilaterally revoke (or refuse to issue) a passport from “any individual whom the Secretary has determined has aided, assisted, abetted, or otherwise helped an organization the Secretary has designated as a foreign terrorist organization pursuant to section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1189).”

FLASHBACK - THE LIE OF THE (LAST) CENTURY

It is inescapable historical reality that leaders of nations will lie to their people to trick them into wars they otherwise would have refused. It is not "conspiracy theory" to suggest that leaders of nations lie to trick their people into wars. It is undeniable fact.

This brings us to the present case.

Did the government of the United States lie to the American people, more to the point, did President Bush and his Neocon associates lie to Congress, to initiate a war of conquest in Iraq?

This question has been given currency by a memo leaked from inside the British Government which clearly indicates a decision to go to war followed by the "fixing" of information around that policy. This is, as they say, a smoking gun.

But the fact is that long before this memo surfaced, it had become obvious that the US Government, aided by that of Great Britain, was lying to create the public support for a war in Iraq.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Before we all start listening to Israel's whores scream about Iran's nuclear weapons, we should remember these same people told us Iraq had nuclear weapons, and even tortured innocent Iraqis to death to "find" them, even though it turned out they had never existed.

The Private Sector Is Cashing In On The Pentagon’s ‘Insatiable Demand’ For Drone War Intelligence

Some months ago, an imagery analyst was sitting in his curtained cubicle at Hurlburt Field airbase in Florida watching footage transmitted from a drone above one of the battlefields in the War on Terror. If he thought the images showed someone doing anything suspicious, or holding a weapon, he had to type it in to a chat channel seen by the pilots controlling the drone’s missiles.

Once an observation has been fed in to the chat, he later explained, it’s hard to revise it – it influences the whole mindset of the people with their hands on the triggers.

“As a screener anything you say is going to be interpreted in the most hostile way,” he said, speaking with the careful deliberation of someone used to their words carrying consequences.

Rand Paul: Fraud, Failure, Liar

by Justin Raimondo, July 29, 2015 As the smoke wafted up into the already smoggy Los Angeles air, a group of young libertarians watched as Jayel Aheram burned his “Stand With Rand” t-shirts. He had two of them, a token of his former esteem for the “libertarian-ish” presidential candidate and Senator from Kentucky, whose father had inspired young Jayel to identify as a libertarian and become active in the movement. A former Marine and Iraq war veteran, the now 31-year-old Aheram had phone-banked for Rand, and enthusiastically retweeted the Senator’s pronouncements on Twitter. He had even forked out $35 for those T-shirts – and now they were going up in flames as he and a group of young libertarians sat on the roof of Jayel’s Los Angeles apartment, drinking beer and glumly contemplating what had brought them – all former supporters of Rand Paul’s presidential campaign – to this point. As Charles Davis writes over at MondoWeiss:

HRW calls Saudi airstrike in Yemen’s Ta’izz prov. “apparent war crime”

Human Rights Watch says a recent Saudi airstrike on the Yemeni town of Mukha that left scores of civilians dead appears to be a war crime.

The rights organization said there was no evident military target at the site of the airstrike. The HRW said Riyadh has so far failed to look into alleged breaches of the rules of engagement. It said the failure of Saudi Arabia to investigate unlawful airstrikes in Yemen demonstrates the need for the United Nations Human Rights Council to create a commission of inquiry to investigate allegations of violations by Riyadh. The rights group said 65 civilians including 10 children were killed in the air raid on Ta’izz province on Friday. But some sources put the death toll at more than 140 civilians. Saudi Arabia has been pounding Yemen since March 26. The onslaught has claimed nearly 49-hundred Yemeni lives, mostly civilians.

Killer Robots Are Not the Problem. But Do You Know What Is?

Humanity is on the cusp of a new age of warfare. For several millennia our species was ruled by those with the most swords, spears, and arrows, and for centuries after that, we lived in the age of gunpowder. But now, we’re entering the age of drones and automated war machines. This may be an era unlike any other we’ve witnessed before. It’ll be a world where the nations with the most military might won’t be the ones with the most bombs, soldiers, and jets, but those with the most robots.

Unless of course, the most influential people of our time can stop this new arms race before it begins.

The Military Will Test a New Terrifyingly Loud Noise Directed Energy Gun

LIPE’s lasers fire extremely short bursts (around a nanosecond, or a billionth of a second) of directed high energy at a target. That target could be on a person, a windshield, or merely a single point in space. The energy, relatively harmless at the LIPE levels, separates electrons and nuclei at the target area to create a blue ball of plasma. Additional pulses of directed laser energy manipulate the ball to make a noise that seems to come from nowhere.

Lockheed F-35’s Reliability Found Wanting in Shipboard Testing

The Marine Corps’ version of Lockheed Martin Corp.’s F-35 fighter demonstrated poor reliability in a 12-day exercise at sea, according to the U.S. military’s top testing officer.

Six F-35Bs, the most complex version of the Pentagon’s costliest weapons system, were available for flights only half of the time needed, Michael Gilmore, the Defense Department’s director of operational testing, said in a memo obtained by Bloomberg News. A Marine Corps spokesman said the readiness rate was more than 65 percent.

While the exercise on the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp resulted in useful training for Marines and Navy personnel, Gilmore wrote in the assessment dated July 22, it also documented that “shipboard reliability” and maintenance “were likely to present significant near-term challenges.”

Which is sadly, true. You might think the next thing to be discussed on that topic would be – why? Why are we now living in an era of endless war? What forces are behind this development? Who, if anyone, is profiting from the same? But, no, David doesn’t think any of this is worthy of our attention. He simply wants us to understand that “perpetual conflict” is absolutely and inescapably the new reality.

In a War With Russia NATO Doesn't Stand a Chance

The typical reply to this kind of question resorts to what US force planners call “bean counting”. Typically, journalists use the yearly IISS Military Balance or a source like Global Firepower and tallies of the number of men, main battle tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry combat vehicles, combat aircraft, artillery pieces, bombers, missiles, surface ships, submarines, etc. presented by each side in a chart.

The reality is that such bean counting means absolutely and strictly nothing. Let’s take a simple example: if a war happens between, say, China and Russia then the fact that China has, say, 1000 tanks in its Yunnan province, will make no difference to the war at all, simply because they are too distant. When we apply this caveat to the Russian-US conventional military balance we immediately ought to ask ourselves the following two basic questions:

Peter Beinart’s Fantasy – Raimondo

Does Beinart really believe the media complex that gives the War Party a guaranteed platform suffers from amnesia? I hardly think so.

Peter Beinart asks some pretty good questions: he wants to know why the same crowd that lied us into war in Iraq isn’t completely discredited when it comes to their opposition to the recently concluded deal with Iran. No, he doesn’t put it quite that way, in part because, by his own admission, he was one of the most enthusiastic cheerleaders for what he now describes as “one of the most important, and damaging, episodes in the history of U.S. foreign policy.” He frames his question this way:

“I have a fantasy. It’s that every politician and pundit who goes on TV to discuss the Iran deal is asked this question first: ‘Did you support the Iraq War, and how has that experience informed your position?’”

Beinart is right to regard this as a fantasy, because it will never happen. Yet he fails to ask why that is.

The War on Conspiracy Realists Continues

British government under Cameron's watch has been an active and willing partner in the Machiavellian strategy of divide and rule in the Middle East spearheaded by the US and Israel.

Obama picked up where Bush left off, flooding Syrian and Libyan insurgent groups with untold largesse and arms, using the corrupted Arab Gulf kingdoms as conduits for weapons transfers for the sake of plausible deniability.

ISIS themselves have mostly eschewed hostility towards Israel, posting an official statement on social media in July 2014 saying that they’re more interested in fighting “Muslim infidels” than the Zionist state.[6]

Israeli officials have expressed similar sentiments, with Israel’s former envoy to the US,Michael Oren, stating in a September 2013 interview that Tel Aviv “prefers” ISIS and al-Qaeda over the “bad guys backed by Iran,” namely Syria’s Assad and Hezbollah.

Israel could use dirty nuke in false flag attack in US: Ex-CIA contractor

Israel is testing dirty nuclear bombs in its deserts which could be used in a "false flag" attack in the United States to implicate Iran, a former CIA and NSA contractor says.

“One has to wonder if they [Israelis] feel that the momentum for realizing ‘greater Israel’ is going away, and if the world opinion is shifting, which clearly it seems to be… [then] we have to be concerned with a false flag attack on the United States in order to justify a retaliatory strike against Iran,” said Steven D Kelley.

“We know that this Israel is actually testing dirty nuclear devices in their desert right now, and we know this has no strategic value other than to be used as a terrorist device in a false flag attack,” he added. “So this is a very dangerous time.”

MYTH - The War of 1861 - 1865 was fought over slavery.

FACT - Terribly untrue. The North fought the war over money. Plain and simple. When the South started Secession, Lincoln was asked, "Why not let the South go in peace?" To which he replied, "I can't let them go. Who would pay for the government?" Sensing total financial ruin for the North, Lincoln waged war on the South. Forrestal he managed to screw up procedures (officially denied and covered up by him and the Navy and also even promoted on Wikipedia if you care to look–reason to follow). He did a smart ass punk attention getting trick by doing a “wet start” up of his jet.

Kremlin to Seize Foreign Assets in Response to Frozen Russian Capital

The Russian government’s Commission on Legislative Affairs approved a bill that would allow Russia to seize foreign state assets without consulting them.

According to the new bill, Russia will be able to seize foreign state assets from countries that would infringe Russia's jurisdictional immunity.

The Ministry of Justice said the new law is to bring parity on the existing "jurisdictional imbalance" between Russia and other countries. In other words, Russia will now seize the state assets of other countries in proportion to the amount of Russian assets frozen in those countries.

US-loaned RAF personnel may be illegally striking Pakistan & Yemen, not just Syria

Fresh controversy has emerged about RAF airmen embedded in an American drone unit, which is known to be carrying out airstrikes in Syria after the charity Reprieve gained access to a joint US-UK memo.

Responding to Reprieve’s request in November, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said there were “currently” no RAF personnel embedded with the United States Air Force’s (USAF) 432nd unit based at Creech airbase in Nevada.

It now appears that the response was not given in good faith – while there may have been no personnel at Creech in November, RAF airmen have been embedded there since 2008 and are there presently.

The MoD confirmed on Wednesday there were indeed UK armed forces personnel currently at the base.

Iran nuclear-free, but U.S. sends A-bombs to Italy

“Today is a historic day and it is a great honor for us to announce that we have reached an accord on the Iranian nuclear solution, to make our world safer.” Federica Mogherini, European Union high representative for foreign and security policy, said this in Vienna on July 14.

Almost simultaneously, another announcement arrived from the United States: “The U.S. Air Force and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) have conducted the first flight test of the jointly developed B61-12 guided nuclear bomb from a Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle at the Tonopah Test Range in Nevada.” (flightglobal.com, July 10) This weapon will soon replace the U.S. nuclear bomb called B61, with between 70 and 90 of them stored in Aviano and Ghedi Torre, part of an arsenal of at least 200 nuclear weapons stored in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Turkey.

Japanese Government Ramps Up Tensions with China

The Japanese government of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has deliberately heightened tensions with Beijing by insisting that the Defence Ministry’s annual white paper, released on Tuesday, include more strident criticisms of China, particularly its activities in the South China and East China Seas. The paper was delayed for more than a week after government parliamentarians branded it as too soft on China and demanded its revision.

The release of the modified defence report came just days after the government rammed contentious new security legislation through the lower house of the Japanese Diet. By raising fears over the supposed Chinese threat, Abe is clearly aimed at trying to blunt widespread opposition to the laws.

The 429-page white paper devoted a third of its chapter on global security trends to China, declaring that Japan was “strongly concerned” about Beijing’s actions.

Pentagon Admits It May Have Lost (SOLD) $500 Million in Weapons To Al-Qaeda

The tragicomedy of the apparent loss of these weapons has shined a light on our counterterrorism policy in now-collapsing Yemen, a subject few in our media care about, judging from the lack of coverage compared to, for example, burning questions about Hillary Clinton’s email server. Our supposedly representative Congress held “closed-door” meetings with DOD officials last week, asking the Pentagon to account for all of this hardware. The Pentagon brass essentially shrugged its shoulders:

Trump is Correct, John McCain is NOT A Hero

First a bit of an introduction on the meaning of HERO…

The word hero in today’s world is far overused. “Hero” is so much overused it has diluted the value and real meaning and has cheapened the word for those who actually deserve the term.

McCain all by himself nearly sank a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier…

The Fine or the Crude Art of Window Dressing – Hypocrisy at its Best

It is simply tit for tat and it is part of the window dressing routine that both sides have to engage in for a long while.

In the meantime, again we are being told by the Administration officials and the mass media that Iran continues to be the world’s biggest supporter of terrorism and is busy destabilizing the region by backing the Assad regime in Syria, the Shi’a militia in Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen.

An exchange between US Ambassador to the UN and her Iranian counterpart is another example of the post-nuclear-agreement Cold War between the United States and the Islamic Republic:

The Iranian administration, reading and hearing the foregoing rhetoric on a daily basis, is certainly not going to take all the allegations and insults without reacting in kind. Both sides must remain actively engaged in window dressing and face saving charade for some time.

One Way to Handle the Crisis in US-Russia Relations

What we are witnessing is the rise of a new wave of the most dangerous arms race with totally unpredictable consequences.

At the moment it is unrealistic to expect a speedy improvement in US – Russia relations. This is to be regretted, but it is a fact: these relations have reached perhaps the lowest point and are even worse than during Soviet times – a really disturbing development.

The general public is aware that both nations are facing off on the political, economic, and informational fronts. However, they also confront each other in yet another area which is only followed by a narrow circle of experts, though it bears directly on the most important security issues facing the whole planet.

The reference is, of course, to major arms control treaties. These took many years and tremendous efforts to negotiate, and yet they now dissolve one after another.

War Profiteers: Victoria Nuland and Co. Making Money on Endless Wars

American neocons have turned wars into a profitable business, a US investigative journalist exposes, nailing Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and her husband, arch-neocon Robert Kagan, for their dubious foreign strategy.

Despite the unsuccessful and disastrous Iraqi war launched under the George W. Bush administration, neocons still play the first fiddle in Washington, American investigative journalist Robert Parry emphasizes.

With his very own disloyal-self perfectly exemplifying the word ‘hypocrite’, retired US Army General Wesley Clark has confirmed the existence of FEMA-style concentration camps to hold Americans for life sentences without a trial via the new tweet seen below in which he purposely says: “Never said ‘muslim’, ‘internment’ or called for NEW camps”.
