'Monumentally Stupid' Anti-Gun PSA Urges Kids to Steal Parents’ Firearms

For once, gun control advocates and gun rights groups agree — they’re fired up about a new video that urges kids to steal their parents’ guns and hand them over to teachers at school.

The Nazis used to teach children to spy on their parents and report if they had something the Nazis preferred they not have, including guns.

Gallup: Public support for stricter gun laws drops 11 points in less than two years

Emblematic of Obama’s entire second term, really. After the Sandy Hook shootings in December 2012, he made gun control his top policy priority to start his second term. Public support for action spiked in the emotional aftermath of the murders; the White House, mindful of Rahm Emanuel’s advice to never let a crisis go to waste, demanded that Congress act quickly to address gun violence, knowing that public opinion would soon revert to the pre-Newtown status quo as that emotion faded.

How a Youtube Video Helped a NY Woman Learn To Properly Deal With Rogue Police and Win $1.12 Million

The 'right-wing' woman in New York who was awarded $1.12 million dollars by a jury in a federal civil rights lawsuit for false arrest, has an interesting history which in all probability, helped her lead to victory. I am so happy for Nancy Genovese, as I have had some e-mail exchanges with her over the years and know she is a good sincere person. I wrote a story about Nancy's case in 2009, which appeared on PrisonPlanet.com and I followed it up in 2010 with news of her suit. However, particularly revealing are some 2009 blog posts Nancy made about a contentious encounter she had with a rogue police officer two months prior to the incident outside the military base - and how one 45 minute Youtube video, according to Nancy herself, really taught her how to properly interact with police in these contentious situations- two months before her infamous arrest which made international news.

Americans Favor Protecting Gun Rights Over Stricter Government Gun Control Laws For The First Time In 20 + Years

On the second anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting, a poll run by the government-funded Public Broadcasting Service found efforts led by gun control groups have ultimately failed to convince the American public to surrender their Second Amendment rights.
After buttering up readers with statistics cited by Conn. Gov. Dan Malloy, which claim that “there were 32 percent fewer murders in 2013 than in 2011” in the state due to newly-imposed gun control laws, PBS gives a run down of several of the restrictions that went into effect almost immediately following the shooting, one of which is a blanket no-purchase regulation on people labeled “mentally ill” by health professionals.

Sandy Hook’s Case against Bushmaster, and Why the Gun Debate Is Already Over

Last Sunday, the families of several Sandy Hook victims came together to remember the tragic shooting that transpired 2 years ago. However, they didn’t gather to light candles and lay wreaths on the graves of their children. Instead, they’ve decided to file a lawsuit against Bushmaster for the “crime” of manufacturing the weapon used by Adam Lanza.

At least that’s how they seem to view it. The parents are arguing that since the rifle used by Lanza was originally designed for military purposes, they had no business selling it to civilians. Thus, the company that built the rifle and the dealer who sold it to the shooter’s mother are both liable for monetary and punitive damages.

Russians can now carry guns for ‘self-defense’

In an amendment to its tough gun control laws, the Russian government eases restrictions, allowing citizens to carry licensed weapons for the purposes of ‘self-defense.’

Until now Russian gun enthusiasts were only permitted to carry firearms for hunting or target shooting after obtaining a license through the Interior Ministry. Russian gun licenses are to be renewed every five years, and applicants face strict background checks and are required to take gun safety courses.

The addendum to the law now lists self-defense as a legally acceptable reason for carrying a weapon.

Government In Action: Guns Being Seized By Police From People On Secret List

British Police Call On Nation To ‘Save a Life, Surrender Your Knife’ As ‘Knife Violence’ Continues

The news out of the United Kingdom almost reads like a satire piece from The Onion. But as strange as it may sound to people around the world, and especially in the United States, the British police push to ban knives is no joke.

The new “Save a Life – Surrender Your Knife” program is in full swing and police are telling us that they have joined forces with an already growing trend in the United Kingdom to ban “pointy” knives.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One of the things that Captain Bly did to the crew of the Bounty was to break off the tips of their work knives. Together with other oppressions this led to the mutiny. The UK government must really be getting scared of their own people to go over the top like this. Will they demand all cooking knives and tableware be plastic only?

Keep in mind that the British government has already admitted that their ban on guns did not actually make the British subjects safer, but is maintained because the people "believe" they are safer. The same will be true of this knife ban. The law-abiding will be disarmed, knives (and guns) will be available to the criminals, and crime will increase. Whose side is the government on? From here it looks like they want to protect the criminals.

Look at all the pointy bits on THAT one! Better ban it!

Gun Control Fact-Sheet 2004 / From Gun Owners Foundation

Guns are used 2.5 million times a year in self-defense. Law-abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves against criminals as many as 2.5 million times every year—or about 6,850 times a day.(1) This means that each year, firearms are used more than 80 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives.(2)

Even anti-gun Clinton researchers concede that guns are used 1.5 million times annually for self-defense. According to the Clinton Justice Department, there are as many as 1.5 million cases of self-defense with a firearm every year. The National Institute of Justice published this figure in 1997 as part of "Guns in America"—a study which was authored by noted anti-gun criminologists Philip Cook and Jens Ludwig.(3)

1 dead after NC grandfather fires back at trio in attempted rape of teen granddaughter, sheriff says

A grandfather shot back and is believed to have killed a suspect in a home-invasion and attempted rape of his teen granddaughter on Monday night, Robeson County Sheriff's officials said.

The grandfather was also shot – but he also managed to shoot the 2 other suspects in the home-invasion and attempted rape, said Maj. Anthony Thompson with the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.

The incident started around 10 pm at a house on Yedda Road in Lumberton on Monday night when someone knocked on the home of the grandfather, his wife and their 19-year-old granddaughter, according to the sheriff's office.

U.N. Arms Treaty – An Attempt to Disarm America

Gun-control liberals have chosen an odd time to be foisting their misguided agenda on the American public. Consider the following facts about life in America. Felonious incidents such as assault and battery, car-napping, murder, abductions, robberies, school shootings, workplace violence, road rage, and home invasions are occurring at unprecedented levels. In fact, crime is up in most categories, except, that is, in communities where law-abiding citizens have legally armed themselves. In an Oklahoma company one employee was beheaded by a discontented Muslim extremist, but the lives of other employees were saved because a manager in the company was armed and took quick action. Although the mainstream media does much to cover up incidents in which lives are saved by armed Americans, this kind of thing happens all the time, and Americans know it. Consequently, citizens of all stripes—men and women, Democrats and Republicans—are arming themselves.

Honor student who brought pocketknife to school suspended for the year

The Dearborn Heights District 7 Board of Education chose a less severe punishment for the honor student who was initially expelled after a pocketknife was found in her purse at a football game.

On Monday, after two hours of deliberation, the board voted 6-0 to allow Atiya Haynes to take online classes. She then will be able to graduate with her class in 2015.

The decision still came as a blow to college-bound Haynes, who participated in numerous extracurricular activities including sports.

School officials discovered the knife as she was exiting a bathroom at the game when they searched her purse.

Haynes says the pocketknife was a gift from her grandfather who gave it to her for protection because her summer job required her to ride her bike from southwest Detroit to Dearborn.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So the "educators" are going to wreck this kid's life over a self-defense weapon? Was she a hardened criminal with a record of violent behavior? On what grounds did they presume to search her purse?

I would like to remind everyone that the Second Amendment reads "The right to keep and bear arms." It does NOT say "The right to keep and bear firearms." The Second Amendment reserves the right to the American people to keep and bear not only guns, but knives, swords, spears, or anything else. The United States Supreme Court ruled in United States versus Miller that the Second Amendment specifically refers to arms as carried by the uniformed military, and the uniformed military do carry knives!

3D printer for creating untraceable AR-15 rifles hits market

The US does allow for creating a firearm from parts or kits, according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), which states: “[An] unlicensed individual may make a 'firearm' as defined in the GCA for his own personal use, but not for sale or distribution.”

As a way to get around that law, manufacturers can make a semi-finished lower receiver that “isn’t technically a gun, but gets as close to the line as possible,” Ars Technica reported. The metal piece is usually 80 percent finished, and can be purchased from a variety of companies. The Ghost Gunner machine will finish the lower receiver, and then customers can purchase the rest of the AR-15 parts online, without being subjected to waiting periods or background checks.

South Australian Judge Wants Total Gun Ban

SOUTH Australia needs a blanket ban on gun ownership in metropolitan areas to save lives and improve public safety, a respected senior SA judge has declared.

In a move that will ignite debate on gun laws, Supreme Court Justice Michael David said the issue of “gun availability’’ had been a recurring theme in a significant number of cases he had presided over during his 18 years on the District and Supreme Court benches.

He believes removing them from the community would prevent a significant number of domestic shootings.

“My view is I think our guns laws are pretty tight, they are not too bad. But my view on guns is not confined to that,’’ he said.

“In my view, and it is a fairly utopian view, I can’t see why anyone in this city should own a gun. I think a gun with a licence is just as dangerous as a gun without a licence.

United Nations to Propose Global Lead Ammo Ban

A United Nations agency is proposing a ban on lead ammunition worldwide, which would serve as backdoor gun control by making ammo prohibitively expensive.

The United Nations Convention on Migratory Species, operating under the U.N. Environment Programme, is meeting in Quito, Ecuador on Nov. 4-9 to discuss and act on the lead ban recommended by a scientific council.

Reference material for the conference suggests that “voluntary approaches to restricting use of lead ammunition” do not work on a national level and for a proposed ban to work, a “range of societal issues” would need to be addressed, including “philosophical issues regarding gun rights and increased government oversight of shooting.”

BREAKING: Federal judge grants 90-day stay in D.C. gun case

A federal judge on Tuesday granted a 90-day stay in a ruling that upended the District’s ban on carrying handguns in public.

The order issued by U.S. District Court Judge Frederick Scullin brings a temporary reprieve to D.C. officials, who were sent scurrying over the weekend to interpret the effects of the ruling that gutted the city’s restrictive gun laws.

An order issued Saturday by the judge struck down the city’s ban on the carrying of guns in public as unconstitutional. While still struggling to comprehend the scope of the order, D.C. police ordered officers to stop arresting people for carrying legally registered guns on city streets.

D.C. seeks stay in order striking down ban on handguns in public

In light of Supreme Court decisions that struck down near total bans on handguns in the District and Chicago in recent years, “there is no longer any basis on which this Court can conclude that the District of Columbia’s total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny,” Judge Scullin wrote in the opinion dated Thursday.

The ruling, five years after the original case was filed, took city officials by surprise and sent police, politicians and attorneys scrambling for a response.

The District’s attorney general’s office was “studying the ruling and considering our options,” spokesman Ted Gest said. In the meantime, city attorneys will seek to block the ruling from taking immediate effect.

DC ban on carrying handguns is unconstitutional, federal judge says

In a landmark gun control case, a federal judge in Washington DC has overturned the city’s total ban on carrying handguns outside the home, saying it is unconstitutional.

"There is no longer any basis on which this Court can conclude that the District of Columbia's total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny," Judge Frederick Scullin said.

"Therefore, the Court finds that the District of Columbia's complete ban on the carrying of handguns in public is unconstitutional," Scullin added in his 19-page ruling.

The ruling was made in the PALMER et al v. DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA et al case.

The court order now allows both city residents and non-residents to carry handguns outside their homes.

Leaked Democrat Document Explains How to Use Tragedies to Push Gun Control

What is the best way to push gun control? According to a newly leaked document that gives Democrats advice on that very subject, national tragedies are the answer.

The document, “Preventing Gun Violence Through Effective Messaging,” is more than 70 pages long and was created by a group of Washington, D.C., consultants who did research for a Washington state gun-control advocates. It was written in 2012 before the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy.

The document states that "The most powerful time to communicate is when concern and emotions are running at their peak ... The debate over gun violence in America is periodically punctuated by high-profile gun violence incidents including Columbine, Virginia Tech, Tucson, the Trayvon Martin killing, Aurora and Oak Creek. When an incident such as these attracts sustained media attention, it creates a unique climate for our communications efforts.”

It looks like DHS isn’t the only ammunition hog in the United States

James Smith, Contributor
Activist Post

There are two stories that have come to light recently, the first is the awarding of a contract to a munitions manufacturer for 450,000,000 hollow point rounds for the .40 caliber.

The second story which I wrote is how the Department of Homeland Security had already ordered 200,000,000 rounds of .40 caliber, but also ordered 15,000 gun cleaning kits for the .40 caliber weapons, and has put a request out for a virtual shooting gallery for the .40 caliber handguns.

650,000,000 round of ammunition is quite a bit of lead and brass. It will sure to drive the price of copper and brass way up. But Homeland Security is not alone in their requests.
