Systematic bribery at GlaxoSmithKline China 'credible' - investigator

Allegations that pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) systematically bribed doctors in China are credible, says an investigator hired by the firm.

Peter Humphrey was hired only to investigate who was behind a suspected smear campaign against GSK.

But after he finished his report, he learned the details of further allegations against the firm and told colleagues he believed they were true.

GSK told the BBC it did not tolerate corruption in its business.

Declaration of Independence - Happy 4th of July. Remember what we're celebrating today.

The Declaration of Independence was a statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, which announced that the thirteen American colonies, then at war with Great Britain, regarded themselves as independent states, and no longer a part of the British Empire. John Adams put forth a resolution earlier in the year which made a formal declaration inevitable. A committee was assembled to draft the formal declaration, to be ready when congress voted on independence. Adams persuaded the committee to select Thomas Jefferson to compose the original draft of the document, which congress would edit to produce the final version. The Declaration was ultimately a formal explanation of why Congress had voted on July 2 to declare independence from Great Britain, more than a year after the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War. The Independence Day of the United States of America is celebrated on July 4, the day Congress approved the wording of the Declaration.

No Help from Washington. Americans Must Enforce the Immigration Laws Starting This Independence Day.

Declaring our independence today means. We will no longer live at the mercy of a corrupt oligarchy that no longer listens to the people. On this July 4, 2014. We will regain our dignity and self respect as Americans not rolling over to a dictatorship so our lives can be destroyed by his decrees.

If we want to live in a land being free and prosperous. We have no choice to sit idly by and allow these corrupt politicians sell us out one more day. At the end of the day. We can only blame ourselves for allowing this lawlessness to happen or take drastic action to make sure our nation shall never perish, but prevail.

HARDtalk — An Intellectual Ambush Masquerading as Truth

Dr. Pappe fortunately is diplomatic, forthright, and capable of avoiding Sackur’s strategy to condemn his work as non-academic and biased toward the Palestinians.

Sakur’s questioning continues to interrogate Pappe as one sided pointing out that after all “stuff happens” in wartime, borrowing a phrase from our own intellectual wizard, Donald Rumsfeld. Pappe’s response is both truthful and honest and it that fractures Sakur’s deflection of the real history Pappe records in his work.

HARDtalk Speaks to Israeli historian, Ilan Pappe

This is a very interesting discussion, which takes the form of an adversarial debate.

Two topics were addressed:

1) “was there premeditated ethnic cleansing in 1948 as opposed to a wartime situation in which the expulsion of the Palestinian population was incidental”, as Benny Morris claims, and

2) “was the evacuation of the Palestinians justified or moral”, as Benny Morris again claims. The adversarial nature of the discussion was essentially a debate between Pappe and Morris, with Mr Sackur playing the role of Benny Morris.

The Democrats Are Finally Turning Away from Israel And it’s high time they did

Personality explains a lot about how we’ve reached this point. While publicly the two countries have played nice, there is clearly no love lost in Barack Obama’s administration for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Things got off to a rocky start in early 2009 when Netanyahu initially refused the United States’ request for a settlement freeze. They got worse when Netanyahu sought to give Obama a “history lesson” in the Oval Office on the security challenges facing Israel; they plummeted further during the 2012 election when Bibi all but endorsed the president’s Republican rival, Mitt Romney; and they took a major hit when Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon publicly disparaged Kerry.

Why Celebrating Independence From The New World Order Is Even More Important

Bernie Suarez
Activist Post

It's another July 4th in America. Why do we celebrate this day? I'd say because without this day America would be just another country. But what do others think about Independence day? More than ever, the meaning of July 4, 1776 is being deeply appreciated and cherished by those who understand the predicament that America is in right now due to loss of liberty and destruction of the Constitution.

At the highest level of federal government power and at the globalist level, however, I'm imagining there is a quiet dislike for the celebration of Independence Day and what it stands for. Sure we'll see celebrations across the country ... but take a closer look...

This is disturbing in a number of ways, but the bottom line is this: the procedures outlined in the articles show the NSA is adding "fingerprints"—like a scarlet letter for the information age—to activities that go hand in hand with First Amendment protected activities and freedom of expression across the globe...

Syngenta Stalks Scientist who Proves their Herbicide Toxic

Three years earlier, Syngenta, one of the largest agribusinesses in the world, had asked Hayes to conduct experiments on the herbicide atrazine, which is applied to more than half the corn in the United States. Hayes was thirty-one, and he had already published twenty papers on the endocrinology of amphibians. David Wake, a professor in Hayes’s department, said that Hayes “may have had the greatest potential of anyone in the field.” But, when Hayes discovered that atrazine might impede the sexual development of frogs, his dealings with Syngenta became strained, and, in November, 2000, he ended his relationship with the company.

Hayes continued studying atrazine on his own, and soon he became convinced that Syngenta representatives were following him to conferences around the world. He worried that the company was orchestrating a campaign to destroy his reputation. He complained that whenever he gave public talks there was a stranger in the back of the room, taking notes.
