When I first visited Occupied Palestine, in 2011, there was something about the experience that seemed very familiar. It was not only the sense of the racist oppression the Palestinians were experiencing; it was something else. When I returned home I realized what it was.

Al-Aqsa vs. Israel

Something sinister is brewing around and below al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem, and it has the hallmark of a familiar Israeli campaign to strip the Mosque of its Muslim Arab identity. This time around, however, the stakes are much higher.

Lieberman Conquers Gaza

In the latest round, Israel launched an airstrike against Gaza a couple of days ago. Gaza retaliated by shooting several dozens of mortars while announcing a new technology developed by them. Today, March 13, 2014, the IDF air force launched another air strike.

The current round is the largest confrontation since Operation Pillar of Cloud in November 2012.

Barrage of at least 40 rockets fired from Gaza into southern Israel

Israeli media reported that up to 55 rockets had been fired into Israel in the deluge of projectiles.

The Iron Dome rocket defense system shot down three of the rockets, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Office.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And JUST when Netanyahu needed political cover for the murder of six Palestinians (and the Jordanian judge), the attempt to wreck the peasce talks with Palestine, the ongoing effort to ignite war in Iran, and the seizure of another aid ship in international waters!

Iron Dome got 3 of the 55 incoming rockets? That does not sound like a success, but Congress just sent Israel another $400 million of your tax dollars to buy more of the same.

As rockets rain down, Liberman calls for IDF to recapture Gaza

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman on Wednesday evening said the IDF should reoccupy the Gaza Strip in response to an ongoing, massive rocket bombardment of southern Israel, and said that the Israeli government must defend its citizens even if it jeopardized peace talks with the Palestinians.

Webmaster's Commentary:

... which was the whole point of this false-flag operation to begin with!

IDF Tanks in Gaza After 60 Rockets Hit Israel

The IDF has sent tanks into Gaza over the past several minutes, and have already eliminated two terror targets, in response to the barrage of rocket fire on Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Yep, those rockets were a false-flag to justify another Israeli aggression against the Palestinians (and derail the peace talks)!

Mar 12 09:24

POSSIBLE FALSE FLAG - Gaza militants fire barrage of rockets into southern Israel

A barrage of at least 25 rockets was fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel on Wednesday evening. There were no casualties.

The IDF's Iron Dome system successfully intercepted three rockets.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's see, 3 out of 25 interceptions is a 12% hit rate; not exactly a successful system, yet the US Government just sent Israel another $400 million to pay for more of the same.

Cost per Iron dome missile, is $35,000 to $50,000 each (not including amortized cost of the launching systems).

Cost of the home-made rockets used by Gaza (or Israelis playing at being Gazans), roughly $800, launched from a wood ramp.

From a purely economic point of view, Israel is losing this battle, although Israel doesn't care because the American taxpayer picks up the tab.

Six Palestinians killed in 24 hours by Israeli forces

Tuesday marked a day of funerals as Palestinians across the West Bank and Gaza mourned six killed by Israeli forces within twenty-four hours. Three were killed in the West Bank in separate instances and three were killed in the Gaza Strip from an air strike. Four others were killed Tuesday afternoon in Gaza during a “work accident” while constructing an explosive according to a statement by Hamas, bringing the total casualty count to ten.

In the West Bank on Monday Israeli border police at the Allenby crossing shot a Jordanian judge during an altercation on a bus. Raed Zeitar, 38, originally from Nablus had been living in Jordan since 2011 and was en route to the West Bank to visit his six-year old daughter who is hospitalized in a coma. In a statement the Israeli army said Zeitar was fired at after he attempted to seize an officer’s weapon

Breaking - Freedom Waves to Gaza ship boarded by Israeli Military

Canadian and Irish ships sailing with Freedom Waves to Gaza have been illegally boarded by the Israeli military in international waters a short while ago.

The Israeli military stated that “Upon arrival of the vessels at the Ashdod port, the activists will be transferred to the custody of the Israel Police and immigration authorities in the Ministry of Interior”.

Freedom Waves to Gaza organizers have been unable to communicate with the ships since soon after the vessels were approached by Israeli warships earlier this afternoon.

The use of name-calling like “anti-Semites” and “delegtimizers” is problematic for a number of reasons, not only because its claims are untrue, but also because it takes the focus off the real issue at hand – whether and how Israel is, in fact, violating international law and basic human rights principles – and, instead, recklessly impugns the characters of those advocating for Israel to be held accountable.

The brief video below from Amnesty International highlights the killing of Samir as one of several where Israeli occupation forces have “carried out willful killings which could amount to war crimes.”

Check The Label – Boycott Israeli Produce

The call for boycotting Israel has grown significantly in recent years. The main purpose of this global campaign is to bring Israel to account for its human rights violations against Palestinians. The reason such civil action is necessary is because governments around the world with the power to intervene have repeatedly failed to utilise international legal apparatus in to hold Israel to account for its crimes.

Arab League won’t recognize Israel as ‘Jewish state’

The Arab League (AL) has dropped its support behind acting Palestinian Authority Chief Mahmoud Abbas in rejection of Israel’s demand for being recognized as a "Jewish state."

Israel to build 1,400 new homes in territory claimed by Palestinian

Israel on Friday announced plans to build 1,400 new homes in Jewish settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, territory the Palestinians claim for their future state.

Even though it was no surprise, the announcement is likely to anger the Palestinians and could cast a shadow on the U.S.-led peace efforts.

Netanyahu: I did not commit to freeze settlement construction

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he did not commit to freezing settlement construction during his meeting with US President Barack Obama and that he will reject any agreement with the Palestinians that does not meet Israel’s security needs.

Israel Radio quoted Netanyahu on Friday, on his way back to Israel, telling Israeli journalists that he considered extending the negotiating period between the Israelis and Palestinians in US Secretary of State John Kerry’s framework agreement unlikely to make a difference for the Israeli coalition government, as most of its members reject the idea of establishing a Palestinian state.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And there is the reason there will never be peace. Israel demands recognition of their right to exist and have a state, while denying those exact same thing to everyone else.

US Foreign Policy, Israel and collective responsibility

Are the citizens of the United States of America aware of their country's external policymaking? Not the lies and tales peddled as the truth in their biased media but the truth, the whole truth and nothing but? Does the average American agree with a policy of bulldozing homes or with vetoing a Resolution which condemns it?

The list of US vetoes of UN Security Council Resolutions condemning Israel for excesses is long and on the list are vetoes of Resolutions which guaranteed human rights, which condemned Israel for abuses, for aggression, for wanton destruction of property. The United States of America has also vetoed condemnation of policy which included seizing land and building settlements on it, displacing the residents, desecrating their farms and cemeteries.

State Dept to ‘check out’ vicious attack on Palestinian athletes

On Jan 31st, without warning, Israeli forces attacked two young Palestinian athletes on their return home from football training in al-Ram in the central West Bank. They shot them repeatedly in the feet, unleashed attack dogs that mauled their arms and legs and dragged them hundreds of feet on the ground, beat them and broke their knees (video). The youths, cousins Jawhar Nasser Jawhar, 19, and Adam Abd al-Raouf Halabiya, 17, will never play competitive sports again.

Dave Zirin, Sports Editor for The Nation, writes a damning article After Latest Incident, Israel’s Future in FIFA Is Uncertain, detailing the event and calling attention to the ongoing atrocities perpetrated against Palestinian athletes that have thus far escaped the attention they deserve.

BEX ALERT - Israel says naval raid seizes Iranian shipment of advanced rockets bound for Gaza militants

Israeli naval forces raided a ship in the Red Sea early Wednesday and seized dozens of advanced rockets from Iran destined for Palestinian militants in Gaza that would have significantly boosted their ability to strike Israeli citizens, the military said.

The ship, the KLOS C, was carrying Syrian-made M-302 rockets and was intercepted more than 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometres) south of Israel off the coasts of Sudan and Eritrea, military spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner told reporters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Note that the rockets are admitted to be made in Syria, but Israel wants to put the blame on Iran.

And note that one of the photos Israel released to prove the missiles came from Iran shows a printed paper WRITTEN IN ENGLISH! And, as an alert reader pointed out, this is actually a label from a bag of cement, not a weapon!

John McCain explains everything wrong with U.S. foreign policy

"So, with you my friends, I see Americans who want our country to be engaged in events beyond our borders, I see Americans who want an internationalist foreign policy, I see Americans who want our country to stand with Israel and our other partners, I see Americans who are willing to spend their hard earned tax dollars on effective foreign assistance and to strengthen the greatest military the world has ever known..."
(begins at 13:20 mark)

Everything he said regarding American foreign policy is the exact opposite of what the great men who founded this nation advocated.

America does not need to be engaged in events beyond our borders. America needs to worry about America and Americans.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's check out McCain's claim that Americans WANT their tax dollars spent on foreign wars and a strong military instead of being spent to take care of America and Americans.

In Birzeit, ‘Trigger Happy’ Israel Vindicates Amnesty’s Report

In the Palestinian West Bank town of Birzeit early last February 27, the Israeli (IDF) Occupation Forces (IOF) acted determinedly, under the media spotlights, to feed Amnesty International with a show case study to vindicate the report it released only hours earlier, entitled “Trigger-happy: Israel’s use of excessive force in the West Bank,” and to refute the Israeli official diplomatic denial of the contents thereof.

In an address at the 2012 Launch startup conference in San Francisco, Shimon Peres, the president of Israel, told his audience that social media is crucial for the attainment of peace between Israel and Palestine. “The idea behind it is governments until now negotiated peace,” he said. “I think the best way to achieve peace is when the people negotiate peace directly by talking to each other.” Many of his constituents seem to agree, and the web-based community in that country has recently taken a collective stand for peaceful relations between the two long-time enemies.

Britain’s Mad-House Foreign Policy

The best and cheapest way of protecting our national security is simply to eject the madmen from the Foreign Office and stop pimping for the US and its mad-dog protegé.

Let’s see how quickly the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), with Mr Bellingham’s help, can get their skates on and straighten out the simple matter of Palestine’s status so that Israel’s strutting psychopaths can finally be brought to book.

In Defense of Helen Thomas: What’s Wrong With History?

Helen Thomas’s recent request to purchase a table at the upcoming White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) annual dinner has been rejected.

In a comment on that story I said, “It’s hard to imagine anything more wrong than this.”

I base my opinion on the fact that the 91-year-old Thomas, a former WHCA president, is unique among American journalists, having covered 10 different presidential administrations in a career stretching back to Dwight Eisenhower.

It is because of Thomas as much as anyone else that women were first included at the WHCA dinner since, as the WHCA’s website mentions:

Britain's mad-house foreign policy

Stuart Littlewood highlights Britain's double standards and contradictory policies in the Middle East: on the one hand irrational belligerence and warmongering towards Iran even though this is contrary to British national interests, and on the other cosying up to and taking its cue from Israel, a criminal, aggressive state whose behaviour contradicts British values and interests.

Israel set to uproot 30,000 of its own Bedouin citizens

Neve Gordon explains why Israel's plans to move entire communities of its own Bedouin citizens from their ancestral lands in the Negev and put them in townships will deprive them of their livelihood and land rights.

”I asked Abu Afash what he thinks will happen if they do not reach an agreement with the government. He paused for a moment and then replied that … ‘they will not put us on buses and move us, they will simply shut down the schools and wait. When we see we cannot send our children to school we will “willingly" move’.

“This is how forced relocation becomes voluntary and how Israel will likely represent it to the world.” (Neve Gordon)

The International Criminal Court will not investigate Israel’s conduct during its December 2008 offensive on Gaza because Palestine is not a state, the world prosecutor said Tuesday.

In a statement, the ICC prosecutor acknowledged that over 130 countries and some UN bodies recognize Palestine as a state.

But, Palestine still holds observer status in the UN, and so the ICC cannot at this time investigate allegations of war crimes committed on Palestinian territory, the prosecutor said.

FLASHBACK - Most Members of Congress Remain Committed to Israel’s Blockade of Gaza

Administration officials and Washington lawmakers indicated the United States is not willing to urge Israel to lift its blockade of Gaza, even as activists seek to highlight the issue after civilian deaths during Israel’s interception of a Gaza-bound flotilla.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With the recent release of the United Nations Human Rights Council report condemning the brutal Israeli attack on the flotilla and declaring the blockade of Gaza a violation of international law, every single member of the United States Government who supports that blockade is an accessory after-the-fact in a violation of international law. How much longer will we live in a nation run by criminals willing to subvert the laws for Israel's gains?

Back in 1948 and 1949, the USSR imposed a blockade on West Berlin to starve that nation into abandoning their elected leaders and accepting Soviet rule. This is identical to the situation in Gaza where Israel is trying to starve the Palestinians into abandoning their elected leaders and accepting Israeli rule.

But back in 19648, we had a far more moral and principled government that had the spine to stand up for what is right, and the US and its allies launched the Berlin Airlift, flying 200,000 flights into Berlin, delivering 13,000 tons of goods per day for a year until the blockade collapsed.

Oh to have real leaders like that again!

"On the radio talk shows and T.V.
You hear one thing again and again
How the U.S.A. stands for freedom
And we come to the aid of a friend

But who are the ones that we call our friends
These governments killing their own?
Or the people who finally can't take anymore
So they pick up a gun, or a brick, or a stone

And there are lives in the balance
There are people under fire
There are children at the cannons

And there is blood on the wire..."

The truth is that far from being the poor victim it likes to portray itself as, Israel is in fact the most aggressive and belligerent nation in the region, having invaded pretty much everyone it shares a border with.
