EGYPT OFFICIAL BLAMES ‘TOM AND JERRY’ CARTOONS FOR VIOLENCE IN THE MIDDLE EAST

That’s what the head of Egypt’s State Information Service declared in a speech this week at Cairo University. And, oh yes, in case the audience didn’t take him seriously about his theories on the dim-witted cat and the pesky mouse, he offered two more reasons: video games and violent movies. Another masterpiece. Head of egypt's state information service says tom and Jerry one of the causes of widespread violence in the Arab world

ISRAEL CAUGHT IN SAUDI ARABIA'S TRAP

During Saudi King Salman’s first visit to Egypt in the beginning of April, Cairo announced that it had agreed to demarcate its maritime borders with Saudi Arabia and transfer control of the two islands at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba, Tiran and Sanafir, to the Saudis. Saudi Arabia is now tasked with practically upholding the obligations assumed by Egypt for these islands under its peace treaty with Israel.

Indeed, the Straits were the casus belli back in 1967, when Gamal Abd al-Nasser cast all caution (and international norms) to the wind and closed them to Israeli shipping. Eilat is a strategic asset and the terminus of Israel's trade with much of Asia and Africa. Even the secretive Protocol of Sèvres signed by Britain, France and Israel in October 1956 had included an explicit reference to Israel's need for the two islands.

ISRAEL, EGYPT, JORDAN, ENTER ‘UNPRECEDENTED’ INTELLIGENCE-SHARING AGREEMENT

The governments of Israel, Egypt and Jordan have entered an intelligence-sharing agreement aimed at joining forces against the Islamic State, which a senior Israeli military commander has described as “unprecedented”. The comment was made on Wednesday by Major General Yair Golan at a press conference hosted by Israel’s Foreign Press Association. General Golan has been serving as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces since late 2014.

EgyptAir hijacker arrested by Cypriot authorities, all hostages safe

A "psychologically unstable" Egyptian man hijacked an EgyptAir passender jet on Tuesday, forcing its diversion to Cyprus and demanding to see his Cypriot ex-wife before he gave himself up after an six hour stand-off.

The situation at Larnaca airport came to a peaceful end at about 11.45am GMT Cyprus' Ministry of Foreign Affairs tweeted that the hijacker had been arrested.

The man, identified as Seif Eldin Mustafa, took control of Airbus A-320 shortly after it left Egypt's Alexandria. He claimed to have an explosive vest.

On landing in Cyprus, Mustafa let most of the passengers and crew leave, before reportedly calling on authorities to let him deliver a message to his Cypriot ex-wife.

After his arrest, the permanent secretary of Cyprus foreign ministry, Alexandros Zenon, said the hijack was "not about terrorism. This is about the individual action of a person who is psychologically unstable".

Israel Admits Role in Overthrow of Mohamed Morsi and Installation of President Al-Sisi, Planned in Cooperation with Egypt’s Military

‘Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Ya’alon admitted in his speech at the annual AIPAC conference, the largest Zionist lobby supporting Israel in the US, that the overthrow of Mohamed Morsi and the installation of Egyptian President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi was planned, in cooperation with generals in the Egyptian and Gulf armies and intelligence agencies. He also said that Israel’s interests will always be served by having military regimes in the Arab world, especially in Egypt.

Two Egyptian officers killed by roadside bomb in the Sinai Peninsula

A roadside bombing in Egypt’s restive Sinai Peninsula killed two policemen on Monday, the interior ministry announced, in the latest in a string of attacks on security forces. The bomb exploded close to an armored vehicle on a highway near El-Arish, the provincial capital of North Sinai, it said in a statement. Islamist militants have killed hundreds of soldiers and policemen in attacks in the peninsula. On Sunday, gunmen killed two members of the security forces in an ambulance as they were being taken to hospital with injuries from a bombing. A medic was also shot dead. Most of the Sinai attacks are claimed by the Islamic State jihadist group’s Egyptian branch, “Sinai Province”. IS also said it carried out the bombing in October of a Russian airliner over Sinai, killing all 224 people on board. Sinai jihadists pledged allegiance in November 2014 to IS, which controls parts of Iraq and Syria and also has a presence in conflict-ridden Libya.

A weakened Turkey seeks Israel's help to break growing isolation

Turkey finds itself in conflict with Russia and Iran, at odds with Egypt's Sisi and has lost its standing with NATO and the US.

Turkey finds itself in a conflict with Russia and Iran over Syria, where Erdogan hoped to see President Bashar Assad ousted. Erdogan supported the Muslim Brothers in Egypt and now he finds himself at odds with Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi. Because of Turkey's uncompromising fight against its Kurdish population, as well as in Syria and Iraq, Ankara is also losing its influence with NATO and with the US. Turkey is now more isolated than ever and is therefore interested in renewing ties with Israel, in the hope that the Jewish state can help Ankara improve its standing in Washington. Turkey also needs natural gas from Israel in order to diversify its sources of energy and to reduce its dependency on Russian gas.

Most of the disagreements between Israel and Turkey stemming from the Marmara incident have already been rectified. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu apologized for the incident>>>

Presidential Elections 2016: The Revolt of the Masses

Commentators grossly oversimplify when they reduce the revolt to incoherent expressions of ‘anger’.

The presidential elections of 2016 have several unique characteristics that defy common wisdom about political practices in 21st century America.

Clearly the established political machinery – party elites and their corporate backers -have (in part) lost control of the nomination process and confront ‘unwanted’ candidates who are campaigning with programs and pronouncements that polarize the electorate.

But there are other more specific factors, which have energized the electorate and speak to recent US history. These portend and reflect a realignment of US politics.

In this essay, we will outline these changes and their larger consequences for the future of American politics.

We will examine how these factors affect each of the two major parties.

Russians Ride Fast – Israel Shamir

If the rebels grasp the chance and enter serious negotiations for a coalition government, peace is possible.

The Russians accepted the US proposal to cease fire in Syria (or rather to end hostilities). They had made a similar proposal a few weeks ago, so this is in line with their thinking. Russians have made huge successes in Syria; they achieved an astonishing and unexpected victory with very few losses.

It was a reputational victory it was as well as a military one. Russia entered the Syrian war at a low point internationally.

The Empire Doesn’t Retreat or Compromise

Reading mainstream media news, analyses, and opinion pieces about this war is completely useless, as everything is either uninformed and clueless gibberish or propaganda and deception.

I wrote this text over several days and every time I sat down again to continue there came another headline to my mind. The first headline was “Nobody said, that it will be easy,” the second “Waiting for the Turkey-Russia showdown,” the third “Playing the terrorism game,” the fourth “Everything is better than war.”

In the end I settled for the header “The empire doesn’t retreat or compromise.”

This statement stands the test of time, it has been proven throughout human history, and there is only one single exemption, only one short period where retreat and compromise are a possibility. This short period is the time when the empire is in terminal decline and in the process of collapsing.

Why the Syria ceasefire is a long shot

Washington and its allies are not interested in peace. They want regime change – by hook or by crook.

An end to the Syrian conflict is desperately needed. But the latest plan for a cessation of violence is unlikely to take hold, as the deal struck by international powers is based on fundamentally opposing premises.

In short, Washington and its allies want regime change, while Russia and Iran insist that President Bashar Al-Assad and his government are the legitimate ruling authorities in Syria. All sides are mandated by UN resolutions to respect the sovereign will of the Syrian people – to determine the political future of their country.

Now the deed is done, the corridor is blocked.

If and when Aleppo and the whole Aleppo district will be taken by the Syrian army, we would be able to congratulate Putin and Assad – and Syrian people – with a great victory.

The Russians raise alarms that a Turkish invasion into Syria is imminent. Russian media is foaming at the mouth about the perfidious Turks; a veritable Two Minutes Hate ritual (vide Orwell) on the state-managed TV channels being repeated a few times a day. The idea is to scare Turks stiff so they will not move while the operation in the North lasts. On the other side, the Russian opposition draws frightful scenarios of Janissaries slaughtering the Russian boys on the Syrian terrain. The Turkish media also tries to instil fear in the Russkies by saying what they can do.

Presidential Debates and Iran

The presidential candidates’ irresponsible remarks about Iran - as though it is a politically convenient football to be kicked around...

After watching both the Republican and Democratic debates on TV, I intend to exclude two main categories from my principle concerns in the upcoming presidential elections that will determine who will replace President Obama next year: one is the entire roster of the Republican Party, and the other, anything other than the foreign policy issues; the main area of my personal interest.

I am disregarding the entire Republican roster because I don’t think any Republican has a chance to beat Ms. Clinton in the general elections, at least this time around.

How the U.S. Undermines Its Ability to Promote Human Rights in Egypt

Under Secretary of State Sarah Sewall deserves praise for her speech in Cairo on February 10, where she simply told the truth about the disturbing situation in President Sisi's Egypt.

Instead of the wishful thinking of Secretary Kerry, who seems unable to talk about Egypt without referring to an illusory "transition to democracy," Sewall noted the economic, security, and political challenges facing Egypt. She had the courage to make the case to her hosts that the way to meet the challenges facing Egyptian society is through tolerance, inclusiveness, and respect for universal human rights.

She said frankly, "we are deeply concerned about the suppression of civil liberties, including societal and government restrictions on freedoms of expression and the press and the freedom of assembly and association... and academic freedom."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, the problem is just not Egypt; the US government routinely props up tinpot dictators around the world, then wonders what the heck went wrong when those governments go under, sometimes through violent revolution, and the replacement governments are hugely anti-American.

The late President Kennedy said it best: "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

And yet, let's look at all the dictators the US government is now supporting; from Ukraine to Bahrain, to Israel, to Turkey; just take a look at what these people are doing to their own people, who simply wish to demonstrate for peaceful change.

Then, let's take a look in the mirror, shall we?!? It is a profoundly disturbing image we see, when unarmed Americans are assassinated, and wounded by police; when peaceful demonstrators are hit with teargas and rubber bullets; when torture is being utilized against prisoners of war at Gitmo (and you cannot call the NG feeding they are doing to hunger strikers anything but.)

Unfortunately, this country has morphed into a creature I barely recognise, at this point in time.

Rooted deeply in a war culture, where hard-won, good-faith negotiations are shunned and avoided like the plague. Haunted by deep-state surveillance, and the suppression of the most fundamental liberties, America is no longer "the land of the free, and the home of the brave", with precious few exceptions; it has become "the land of the surveilled, and the home of the cowed."

Every false flag in the making is detected ahead of time by somebody’s intelligence services

Every false flag in the making is detected ahead of time by somebody’s intelligence services—usually more than one country—because spying today is so effective and so universal. Officials in possession of this secret information often pass it on to the country that’s targeted, in the sincere belief that a heads-up will be appreciated.

But often the information isn’t welcomed—-because the fix is already in. Treasonous assets within the targeted country’s chain of command, who are prepared for the possibility of a leak, take measures to block the information from reaching those who might act on it in a meaningful way.

Russian Red Scare No Longer Works

The EU has no-one else to blame for its present stresses and strains but itself, owing to its craven subservience to Washington's reckless policies.

The American and British governments are launching yet another media campaign to demonize Russia, with tall claims that the Kremlin is infiltrating European political parties and news media. The dastardly Russian aim, we are told, is to destroy the European Union.

Twenty-five years after the end of the Cold War and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Washington and its trusty sidekick in London are desperately seeking to turn back the clock to the “good old days” when they could control their public through scare stories.

Military Escalation: Egyptian Soldiers Arrive in Yemen to Join Saudi-led Coalition

About 800 Egyptian soldiers reportedly arrived Yemen to help the Saudi-led coalition’s forces on Jan.12. According to reports, 4 Egyptian units of 150-200 troops with tanks and transport vehicles will likely participate in military operations in the areas of Marib and Taiz.

In Aden, local security forces raided an unused warehouse near the port and found tons of weapons and ammunition apparently smuggled in by AQAP. The Hadi government calls civilians to report the suspected presence of AQAP men in the city.

Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen killed two traffic security officers in the city. The militants, riding motorbikes, shot and killed the two officers and their driver. The recent attacks show that the government security forces and the Saudi-led coalition can’t secure the city successfully.

The calling in of Egyptian troops is, perhaps, a sign that the Saudis are not doing all that well, militarily.

Hillary Clinton Touts Overthrow of Gadhafi, but Doesn’t Mention That Clinton Foundation Donors Did Big Business in Tyrant’s Libya

On Saturday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton again justified the 2011 U.S. policy of regime change in Libya, citing, at least in part, the fact that dictator Moammar Gadhafi had killed Americans.

“We have to continue to do what is necessary when someone like Gadhafi, a despot with American blood on his hands, is overturned,” Clinton said during the weekend’s Democratic presidential debate in Manchester, New Hampshire. “But I’ll tell you what would have happened if we had not joined with our European partners and our Arab partners to assist the people in Libya, you would be looking at Syria.”

But early in the administration, Clinton had championed an allegiance with the Libyan regime under Gadhafi, during a time when some of the major U.S. corporations doing business in Libya were also donating heavy sums to the Clinton Foundation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Do not for a moment imagine that this "pay to play" mentality will suddenly leave her consciousness, if she is able to win (or steal) the election; it will simply continue, unabated. For her and Bill Clinton, inhabiting the White House is simply another way to make millions of dollars through her foundation, and the public be damned.

And this is why we have to bring her past behaviour to the unblinking gaze of documented fact, because, if in fact, past is prologue to the future, we can expect massive international interventionism from a second Clinton presidency.

And has anyone out there had the "male attributes" to ask her if the current post-Ghadaffi situation in Libya, which has been rife with civil war since 2011; whose leadership has been badly factionalised and has just this month created a basis for a national unity government, was the outcome she desired when she green-lit Ghadaffi's assassination?!?

And what about the reality that Libya has become a
second home to ISIS?!?

Because if all I have stated here were not the outcomes Clinton desired as Secretary of State, and were simply "unintended consequences" of her policies here, please consider Libya a thoroughly terrifying, but very real, "prequel" to what a Clinton presidency will look like.

Will Russia Buy 'Used' Mistrals From Egypt?

New cars are often offered at high fixed list prices set by the manufacturer. A trick car dealers use to circumvent such fixed list prices and to sell more cars is to "sell" the new car for a day or two to some strawmen. These cars are marketed as "demonstrator" or per-registrated cars. The "used car" is handed back to the dealer who sells it to the originally intended buyer for a price lower than the manufacturer's list price.

A somewhat similar trick, though not involving pricing, seems to be in the making for a set of interesting war ships:

Egyptian authorities ban publications on Egypt’s first NPPs

The Egyptian authorities on Monday banned publication of any articles on construction of Egypt’s first nuclear power plant in El Dabaa in which the Russian State Corporation for Atomic Energy (Rosatom) will take part. According to the MENA news agency, the distribution of this information is possible only with approval from Egypt’s security bodies and the office of the minister of electricity and renewable energy sources... According to the Egyptian media’s previous reports, the agreement is worth 25 billion U.S. dollars. The credit to be issued in 2016-2018 will make it possible to finance 85% of the total cost of works to erect the nuclear power plant. The Egyptian side is supposed to provide the remaining 15% out of its own sources. As it was originally announced, the payments will not be made from the state budget. All the expenses will be recovered through real production of electric energy to be generated by the station.

Hassanein Heikal: Saudi-Led Coalition Supporting ISIL

Egypt's veteran journalist and politician Muhammad Hassanein Heikal underlined that the so-called Saudi-led coalition against terrorism is comprised of countries that supply the ISIL with financial, arms and logistic support. "Some of the countries of this coalition are the most important supporters of the ISIL terrorist group," Heikal wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday. Heikal believes that the Saudi-led coalition has been formed without coordination (with the Arab states), in the absence of an ideology and without a specific mechanism; "it does not follow up an integrated and specific goal". "In fact, setting up the coalition is the only way to exit the bottleneck caused by the defeat of Saudi Arabia's 'Decisive Storm' operation against the Yemeni nation," the veteran journalist and politician added.

Would you be willing to defend your country against a foreign invasion?

That’s all Putin is doing in Syria. He’s just preempting the tidal wave of jihadis that’ll be coming his way once the current fracas is over. He figures it’s better to exterminate these US-backed maniacs in Syria now than face them in Chechnya, St Petersburg and Moscow sometime in the future. Can you blame him? After all, if Washington’s strategy works in Syria, then you can bet they’ll try the same thing in Beirut, Tehran and Moscow.

So what choice does Putin have?

Cheap oil puts the House of Saud at risk: Spengler

Saudi Arabia spends money like there’s no tomorrow. A new report from the International Monetary Fund suggests that there might not be a tomorrow for the House of Saud. Without massive spending cuts, the Kingdom will exhaust its monetary reserves in five years at current oil prices, the IMF reckons. Saudi Arabia is a rich country full of poor people, and the House of Saud has bought a lot of legitimacy by subsidizing its subjects. The dynasty might not survive the sort of austerity measures that the IMF insists are necessary to keep the Kingdom from running out of reserves by 2020. Egypt, now dependent on Saudi subsidies, also is at risk.

Open Rafah Now: Siege on Gaza Is a Cruel Failure

When Egypt decided to open the Rafah border crossing which separates it from Gaza for two days, December 3 and 4, a sense of guarded relief was felt in the impoverished Strip. True, 48 hours were hardly enough for the tens of thousands of patients, students and other travelers to leave or return to Gaza, but the idea that a respite was on its way helped to break, albeit slightly, the sense of collective captivity felt by entrapped Palestinians.

Of course, the Rafah border crisis will hardly be resolved by a single transitory decision, mainly because Gaza is blockaded for political reasons, and only a sensible political strategy can end the suffering there or, at least, lessen its horrendous impact.

The more repulsive, as in beheadings, the more salutary from the standpoint of massive surveillance at home, the engineering of a crisis atmosphere (to the sacrifice of civil liberties), the internalization of fear, which shifts the political spectrum still further rightward, as in heightened patriotism, anti-immigrant feelings, a trivialization of politics because so much of public policy is placed off limits.

Iranian Supreme Leader Sends Crucial Message to World Audience on Terrorism

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei released an important message to the world youth on global terrorism, including the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.
Here is the full text of the letter:
In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

To the Youth in Western Countries,
Today, there are very few people who are uninformed about the role of the United States of America in creating, nurturing and arming al-Qaeda, the Taliban and their inauspicious successors. Besides this direct support, the overt and well-known supporters of takfiri terrorism- despite having the most backward political systems- are standing arrayed as allies of the west while the most pioneering, brightest and most dynamic democrats in the region are suppressed mercilessly.
The other side of these contradictory policies is seen in supporting the state terrorism of Israel.

Meet the man who funds ISIS: the son of Turkey’s President, Bilal Erdogan

The son of Turkey’s president (and thus, the father) is the silent mastermind who has been responsible for converting millions of barrels of Syrian Oil into hundreds of millions of dollars of Islamic State revenue.

Russia’s Sergey Lavrov is not one foreign minister known to mince his words.

Just earlier today, 24 hours after a Russian plane was brought down by the country whose president three years ago said “a short-term border violation can never be a pretext for an attack”, had this to say:

“We have serious doubts this was an unintended incident and believe this is a planned provocation” by Turkey.

But even that was tame compared to what Lavrov said to his Turkish counterparty Mevlut Cavusoglu earlier today during a phone call between the two (Lavrov who was supposed to travel to Turkey has since canceled such plans).

We’re grateful for and to Patrick J. Fitzgerald, whose existence proves that the old America yet lives.

We have a lot to be grateful for this Thanksgiving

I’m thankful for so many things this Thanksgiving that it’s going to take me an entire column just to adequately describe them. Indeed, I’m already so loaded down with gifts that I don’t need Christmas. My cup runneth over! For an old libertarian “isolationist” like me this holiday season is a bountiful time, one that yields so much that it seems like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and my birthday all rolled into one. Take a gander at this wonderful cornucopia of plenty:

An Invisible US Hand Leading to War? Turkey’s Downing of a Russian Jet was an Act of Madness

It is all terribly dangerous and it is hard to predict where things will lead.

This outrageous shootdown of a Russian plane that was in no way posing a threat to Turkey or Turkish forces, will not end here, because Russia and President Putin cannot allow Turkey and NATO to so blatantly act against Russia and its pilots and go unpunished, particularly as it is Russia that is acting legally in Syria, while the US, Turkey and other nations backing rebel forces there are in all acting blatant violation of international law.

Unless saner heads start prevailing in Washington, this could all quickly spiral into the kind of situation in 1914, where a lot of ill-conceived treaties led to a minor incident in the Balkans turning inexorably into World War I.

Is Turkey Starting a Proxi-War for NATO?

It is clear, Turkey hosting the recent G20 meeting and subscribing to the east-west ‘coalition’ of fighting the ISIS / DAESH / Al Qaeda terror, was a loosely disguised farce.

Did Turkey just provoke a proxi-war on behalf of NATO against Russia? – Turkey knew very well that the Russian SU-24 fighter jet was inside Syria’s borders and that even as it may have been close to Turkey it was no threat for Turkey. Russia’s mission was clear to all the 19 nations which attended the G20 meeting some 10 days ago in Antalya, Turkey, when the entire group unanimously decided to cooperate in fighting the Islamic State (IS – or Daesh, according to its Arabic acronym).

Turkey Shoots Down More Than Just a Russian Jet

It is only a matter of time before the rhetorical shell game conducted by the terrorist sponsors comes unstuck.

Turkey’s shooting down of a Russian fighter jet this week was likely aimed at a bigger political target – to deal a blow to the proposal of a grand anti-terror coalition between the West and Russia for fighting the Islamic State extremist network in Syria.

Such a coalition might seem reasonable, even desirable, to most people. But it is profoundly unacceptable, tacitly, to Washington because it would further expose the criminal nature of the Western-sponsored regime-change operation in Syria.

Washington and its allies do not want Russia to participate in an effective military coalition that would accelerate the destruction of the mercenary terror army that the Western powers have covertly invested in. In that regard, French President Francois Hollande seems to have momentarily lost the devious plot by proposing such an alliance with Russia.

The double-edged sword of cyber warfare

Kind of in your face aren't they!

One week after the Israeli army formally recognized cyber weapons as a fourth dimension of warfare, alongside land, air and sea, the defense minister on Wednesday sang the praises of digital weapons, saying that they can attack and conquer enemy assets without leaving a trace.

“Cyberspace enables the attack of another nation state in offensive action, even reaching victory without leaving any fingerprints, even if it is suspected,” Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said Wednesday at the fifth annual Cyber Security Conference at Tel Aviv University, according to a conference statement. “We are already there; we are not talking about some distant future. We have experienced this in Israel’s day-to-day actions against its enemies.”

The reference to offensive action was somewhat rare and it came just two weeks after Israel was fingered as a suspect in a cyberattack against participants in the nuclear negotiations with Iran.

Suspicions about the Russian Plane Crash

[Carmi] Gillon suggested that today a terror organization could take over a jet plane and “achieve something like 9-11” without fielding any flesh and blood attackers.

Flashback: Did Money Seal Israeli-Saudi Alliance?

According to a source briefed by U.S. intelligence analysts, the Saudis have given Israel at least $16 billion over the past 2 ½ years, funneling the money through a third-country Arab state and into an Israeli “development” account in Europe to help finance infrastructure inside Israel. The source first called the account “a Netanyahu slush fund,” but later refined that characterization, saying the money was used for public projects such as building settlements in the West Bank.

In other words, according to this information, the Saudis concluded that if you can’t beat the Israel Lobby, try buying it. And, if that is the case, the Saudis have found their behind-the-scenes collaboration with Israel extremely valuable. Netanyahu has played a key role in lining up the U.S. Congress to fight an international agreement to resolve a long-running dispute over Iran’s nuclear program.

Russia Says Bomb Downed Plane in Egypt and Intensifies Attacks on ISIS

Russia said for the first time on Tuesday that a bomb aboard a Russian charter jet full of vacationers caused the aircraft’s destruction more than two weeks ago over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, and the Kremlin responded immediately by escalating airstrikes across Syria.

The Russians said they were coordinating their military campaign with France in sharply ratcheting up attacks on Syrian territory, especially areas held by the Islamic State, the militant group that has asserted responsibility for destroying the Russian jetliner and for the spree of deadly attacks across Paris on Friday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Okay, now that the actual investigators have concluded there was a bomb, that is fine. I think that Putin held off announcing the plane was bombed as he knew the US was pushing to have a justification to get back into Syria. When that didn't work, Paris happened, and now that Paris has happened, Putin is announcing the plane was bombed to send a signal to the world that Russia has an equal and prior claim to escalate the situation on Syria.

Airbus 321 in the Sinaï - only one hypothesis remains

Russian investigators brought with them to Egypt a complex apparatus designed to test the débris both inside and outside the plane. This equipment enables the detection of aerosol-based explosives to a level of sensitivity of 20 nanogrammes. If, in the test solutions, there appear traces of a brown-violet colour, the agent is revealed as TNT. If an orange precipitate appears, the explosive is Tetryl, or another explosive from group A (TNB, DNT, picric acid, etc.). The Russian device possesses a range of separate tests for explosives from group B. With this system, the appearance in test solutions of a rosy colour would indicate the use of dynamite, nitroglycerine, RDX, PETN, SEMTEX or nitrocellulose. If the chemical reactions do not identify explosives from groups A and B, the test equipment automatically checks for the presence of components containing inorganic nitrates, such as chlorine, bromine or peroxyde, used in the preparation of improvised explosive devices (ANFO).

Intel on 'two-hour timer' uncovered in Russian jet crash investigation

Investigators analyzing the deadly crash of a Russian jet in Egypt uncovered intelligence about a “a two-hour timer,” though it is not clear whether the reference came from intercepted communications between known terrorist operatives, or physical evidence, a source familiar with the investigation told Fox News.

More of the usual "intercepted (by Rita Katz probably) chatter" and "source familiar with the investigation." US: Sinai Plane Bomb Likely Used Military-Grade Explosives

US officials, carrying out their own investigation into the bombing of a Russian Metrojet in the Sinai Peninsula despite not having access to the crash site or any of the direct evidence, say that they BELIEVE bringing down the plane would’ve required a “military-grade” explosive, likely something along the lines of C4.

US and British officials are expressing annoyance at not having been invited to directly participate in the investigation with Russia and Egypt, and warn that they may never be given enough access to independently determine exactly what happened.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to the US and UK governments; belief is neither evidence nor proof; and if the Egyptian and Russian governments are uncomfortable giving you access to the actual forensics work going on, you have earned their distrust by consistently wanting the alleged "results" to conform to your geopolitical narrative, whether it is actually true...or not.

U.S. AND BRITISH OFFICIALS are now saying, at least tentatively, that an explosive device likely downed the Kogalymavia Airbus over the Sinai peninsula last weekend. Why British Haste on Plane Bomb Theory?

Cameron and Obama are evidently being fed intelligence assessments of a bomb being stowed in the airplane's hold by terrorists.

British officials have made an unseemly leap to speculate on a terrorist plot in the Russian airliner crash over Sinai last weekend.

And Russia has understandably reacted furiously to the speculation, saying that it is too early to make such an assessment when crash investigators have not even compiled, let alone evaluated, evidence.

American officials, including President Barack Obama, are also now echoing the British claims of a bomb on the plane. The question is: why the haste?

Air crash investigators studying the black box have now determined the jet was brought down by an explosion, according to French media

The source is always an anonymous "person with access", or "knowledgeable person." But we are not seeing direct quotes from the official investigation itself. BEX ALERT - British Starburst missle took down Russian plane - no bomb

Someone within US intelligence called the Michael Savage radio show Wednesday, November 4 and said the bomb story is false. Obama & Putin know it was a British Starburst missile traveling at mach 4 fired by either Saudi or ISIS fighters using a hand held launcher.

The Starburst uses a laser guided system in which the operator has to keep a laser on the target for the missile to follow. The laser bean diverges into a cone to make that easier, but because of this, the laser power weakens considerably at distance and the reflected laser cannot be detected by the missile seeker.

Cairo understands Moscow’s decision to suspend air service — Egyptian minister

Cairo accepts understandingly Russia’s decision to suspend air service with Egypt, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism Hisham Zazou told TASS on Friday. "Russia’s position is clear. Moscow has solid grounds to act this way," he said. "We understand that, as we understand the circumstances this decision has been taken in. We hope the situation will mend in the near future, which is in the interests of both countries." He said Cairo was not yet ready to comment on the situation. "The cabinet, the ministers and our ambassador to Russia are assessing the situation," he noted. He said he hoped this decision would be revised. "In any case, we, on our part, are ready to offer any possible help and support any initiatives and ideas on that subject that would be advanced by our Russian friends so that we could live through this difficult period," he said.

Russia hits out at Charlie Hebdo over crash cartoon

Russia has heavily criticised French magazine Charlie Hebdo for two cartoons depicting the Sinai air crash in which 224 people, mostly Russians, died.

One cartoon shows debris falling on a member of Islamic State (IS) with a caption reading: "Russia's air force intensifies its bombing."

In the other, a skull and body parts of victims are depicted.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for Vladimir Putin, called the cartoons published by the satirical magazine "sacrilege".

"This has nothing to do with democracy or self-expression," he said.

RAW: Footage ISIS Claims Moment Shoot Down Russian Plane Flight 9268 in Egypt

Webmaster's Commentary:

If at first you don't succeed, lie, lie again. Flight 9268 was reported by radar to be traveling at 400 knots when the incident occurred. From the smoke plume in this video, it is obvious the plane in this video is flying much slower than that. and in this age of digital cameras and cell phones with automatic focus, the fact that this video is so blurry tells you someone blurred it intentionally to hide something, such as this not actually being a passenger jet at all.

'Powerful explosion' brought down Metrojet, probe finds

A source close to the Egyptian investigation of the black boxes has said that the cause of the plane crash that killed 224 people is looking more like an explosion - but it is unclear if it was caused by fuel or a bomb.

They also said that investigators are studying sand from the plane crash site for signs of a bomb attack.

Additionally, a judiciary source in the investigation team said "the cause of the crash is an explosion at the engine. The reason of the explosion will be determined on the examination of the crash site and the test of the bodies".

ISIS Forgot How They Brought Down the Russian Jet

This entire story is so obviously made up.

When I say "made up," please don't get me wrong here. I know we live in a world where the lunatics running the asylum would blow up 224 innocent civilians without a second thought to continue their agenda (which in this case appears to be a completely orchestrated proxy war with Russia they want to ramp up into a completely orchestrated World War III).

It's just that what they are trying to make us believe happened in the case of this Russian plane crash is such complete and utter bull.

On top of that, since our intelligence chief was just saying IS didn't do it, only to have some of our government sources come out today and say no wait they did, just proves that the entire post-9/11 security apparatus they've built up around everyone is completely worthless by their own (totally unbelievable) version of the story!

Stoking Fear of Flying to Russia

Comments now making headlines are pure speculation - irresponsible until at least early investigative results are known. Russia’s assessment will be definitive.

Yet major media reports now circulating say US and UK sources claim information they have suggests a bomb planted aboard the aircraft downed it.

AP: “Bomb May Have Downed Russian Jet, US, UK Officials Say.”

The New York Times published the AP report.

Reuters: “Bomb by Islamic State likely caused Russian plane crash: security sources”

Washington Post: “Britain suspends flights from Sinai, citing bomb fears”

It’s a short leap to suspending flights to Russia or discouraging travelers from going there. Would fear-mongering follow a US airliner crash, whatever the possible cause? Normal activities always resume.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is hard to see the Metrojet crash as justification not to fly to Russia as in the case of a bomb, it is the departure airport in Egypt that would be seen as the scene of the crime, not the destination in Russia which was never reached.

BEX ALERT - US intelligence: A bomb planted by ISIS most likely brought down the crashed Russian plane

The intelligence is reportedly based partly on monitoring of internal ISIS messages.

Islamic State, which controls swathes of Iraq and Syria and is battling the Egyptian army in the Sinai Peninsula, said again on Wednesday it brought down the airplane, adding it would eventually tell the world how it carried out the attack.

Investigations are ongoing, however, and US and European officials haven't made any formal conclusions yet.

"There is a definite feeling it was an explosive device planted in luggage or somewhere on the plane," an unnamed official told CNN.

Webmaster's Commentary:

At this point it is very obvious that "terror" is being pushed very hard even though the "evidence" presented by the west (who are not actually involved in the investigation of the crash) is flimsy. This isn't reporting; this is a sales pitch! This feels like a propaganda campaign. Leading to what? The new 9-11 Lindsey Graham was talking about in Congress while pushing for more wars?

Russia complains about lack of Egypt crash information from Britain

The Russian foreign ministry complained about Britain's failure to hand over information about Saturday's deadly plane crash in Egypt, after London said there was a significant possibility that Islamists had planted a bomb onboard.

"The British government has not given us any information about the plane crash," Maria Zakharova, a foreign ministry spokeswoman, told reporters, according to the TASS news agency.

"If they have information and they are not presenting it that is shocking," she added, saying it was surprising that the representative of a foreign government rather than experts were putting forward theories about the plane's fate.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So far, the claims that there was a bomb on board are admitted to be based on "timing", supposedly intercepted chatter, and the videos (some of which are obviously fake) claiming ISIS shot down the plane. Russia asks for Britain's proof there was a bomb and is refused! Both Egypt and Russia are saying the plane suffered a mechanical failure, yet the west is pushing this terror theme as hard as they can. One is left wondering if some false-flag attacks on airplanes are being planned and someone decided to seize in a genuine accident to "pre-sell" that false-flag.

Revelations Over Cause of Russian Plane Crash Deal Humiliating Blow to Egypt

Britain announced it is halting Sinai flights as Egyptian President Sissi arrived in London; inauspicious timing suggests that there is solid evidence that bomb brought down Russian passenger jet.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Note the comment that the "suspicious" timing is the basis for "suggesting" there was a bomb. This is pure spin, and the terrorist angle is being pushed very hard right when Wikileaks Ukraine is saying there are plans for a false-flag and Lindsey Graham is claiming to know that the next 9-11 is coming From Syria.

If I were the suspicious type I would be thinking there is a new false-flag terror hoax in the works to try and re-ignite war fever in the American people!

Did a U.S. Sentinel Drone Hit Doomed Russian Metrojet?

Look, the U.S. has been saying for years now that drones are presenting a threat to air traffic. And that’s the smaller ones, the size of pigeons and hawks that they’re talking about. In fact, at a recent Southern California wildfire, firefighters couldn’t bring in air tankers due to private drone traffic around the scene. The drones that the U.S. military uses are substantially larger. Therefore, if an airliner struck a drone the size of the ones the U.S. military uses, it would certainly be capable of fatally disabling the aircraft.

Egypt is Flooding Gaza Border Tunnels With Seawater, Poisoning Water Supply

Egypt has been pumping salt water from the Mediterranean into Gaza's underground tunnels, which Cairo says have been used to smuggle weapons to Islamist insurgents in the Sinai desert.

But more than destroying the tunnels, the flooding is contaminating water supplies and threatening to wreck farmland and spread disease, Palestinian officials say.

"One cubic meter of seawater pollutes 40 cubic meters of underground water," said Tamer al-Sleibi, a water department director in Gaza.

He worries that the water could weaken the foundations of homes and spoil the land for agriculture. Additionally, as the water turns stagnant, mosquitoes and other disease carriers will breed.

The days of the « Arab Spring » are almost over. As of now, the White House and the Kremlin are redesigning the contours of the « Greater Middle East ». Russian plane crash in Sinai: Flight recorders reveal ‘unusual sounds’ moment before jet disappeared

The disappearance of the Russian airliner which crashed in Sinai on Saturday was preceded by sounds in the cockpit “uncharacteristic of a standard flight”, according to Russian media.

The Interfax news agency quoted officials in Cairo as providing a first insight into audio recordings from the Airbus 321’s “black box” recorders.

They reported that after a period of routine discussions between crew members, “the recordings show sounds uncharacteristic of a standard flight precede the moment of the airliner’s disappearance”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, something altered the plane's flight characteristics, but did not produce an explosive sound which would have been captured on the recorder before the sounds "uncharacteristic of a standard flight."

Recall that the altitude data provided by flightradar24.com showed a sudden climb preceding the dive. This and the recorded sounds would suggest that the tail of the aircraft started to separate, starting at the bottom of the fuselage. This would lower the angle of attack of the horizontal stabilizers, which in turn would cause the aircraft to climb. The added turbulence from the out-of-alignment empennage would account for the sound.

Fatigue Crack Might Be Cause of Deadly A321 Crash in Egypt

"I saw the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) is somewhere in the desert, separated from the main wreckage, and you can see a clear cut, as if this part was separated from the aircraft like by a saw.. It could be a fatigue crack," Karel Mundel, a Czech pilot employed by the Airbus Company, stated after watching a video of an aerial view of the wreckage of the plane.

Russian plane 'broke up in air' before Sinai crash

Russian aviation official says inspection of wreckage in Egypt shows plane broke apart but this does not necessarily indicate bomb.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Russians get the benefit of the doubt here, because from Russia's point of view, the plane being brought down by ISIS justifies escalation of Russia's activities in Iraq and Syria.

Satellite Shows Heat Flash When Russian Metrojet Plane Crashed, But No Missile: U.S. Officials

A senior defense official told NBC News late Monday that an American infrared satellite detected a heat flash at the same time and in the same vicinity over the Sinai where the Russian passenger plane crashed.

According to the official, U.S. intelligence analysts believe it could have been some kind of explosion on the aircraft itself, either a fuel tank or a bomb, but that there's no indication that a surface-to-air missile brought the plane down.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As this article points out, the exploding aircraft itself would produce a heat flash, but the propaganda push is still towards act of terror, both to bolster the war fever and (from Metrojet's point of view) block potential liability and negligence lawsuits. At that point in its flight, the aircraft would have still had half of its fuel load still in the tanks.

Heat flash over Sinai prior to Russian plane crash reportedly detected by US satellite

Just before a Russian passenger airliner crashed in Egypt’s Sinai on Saturday, a US infrared satellite reportedly detected a heat flash in the same vicinity, indicating that an explosion may have happened on board.

The US intelligence community believes that a fuel tank or bomb may have been the source of the heat signature, NBC News reported. The same satellite ruled out a missile attack, as it didn’t detect a heat trail that a rocket engine would have produced, the channel’s source said.

The heat flash may not be related to the crash since the Sinai Peninsula is a volatile place with regular military activity, a Pentagon official told ABC News.

There is growing speculation and versions about the cause of the crash over Sinai

Crashed in Egypt Airbus hit the runway tail when landing in Cairo in 2001. Information was confirmed in "Kogalymavia". Such contact is considered an incident. But after years later the depressurization could occur. Similar case the in 1985 with the aircraft of Japanese airlines and in 2002 with "Boeing 747" of Chinese airlines. In both cases, the planes broke up in the air. The reason - the poor maintenance after the tail touch the runway for a few years before.

"Some, perhaps, elements of a received residual deformation, which was undetected during inspection and repair. It is quite possible, therefore, for these years that have passed, 14 years after the incident, has accumulated some fatigue permanent deformation, and it could happen," says the honored pilot of the Russian Federation Sergey Kruglik.

With regard to the Halloween crash over Egypt of Russian Airbus A321, operated by Metrojet, we hereby present some pieces of the puzzle that appear, at this point - to lead to a 'conspiracy theory' involving 'the usual suspects' (cough-cough).

Webmaster addition: I reject the obvious propaganda that ISIS shot down the Russian aircraft, and am still leaning towards failure of the rear pressure bulkhead as the cause of the accident. But this article makes a suggestion that should not be dismissed out of hand which is that the plane was bombed by CIA/Mossad as "punishment" for Russia's success in Syria.

Did Accident From 14 Years Ago Doom Russian Plane Over Egypt?

What does, however, jump out from this particular airplane’s record is an accident that it suffered on November 16, 2001 while landing at Cairo (while owned and operated by Middle East Airlines). As it touched down the nose was pointing at too high an angle and the tail hit the tarmac – heavily enough to cause substantial damage.

Tail strikes like this are not uncommon. The airplane was repaired and would have been rigorously inspected then and during subsequent maintenance checks. Nonetheless investigators who will soon have access to the Airbus’s flight data recorder will take a hard look at what is called the rear pressure bulkhead, a critical seal in the cabin’s pressurization system. Images from the wreckage in the Sinai show parts of the tail and rear fuselage near the site of this bulkhead lying clear of the rest of the debris, suggesting a possible break-up in flight.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There was an air crash in Japan some years ago which was caused by a faulty repair to the rear pressure bulkhead letting go at altitude.
