US Dollar’s Days Are Numbered as BRICS Meet

A summit of major emerging “BRICS” economies in Brazil is the latest sign of the decline of the US dollar as the standard global currency for reserves and trading, James Rickards, author of Currency Wars told RIA Novosti.

“We see the BRICS’ desire to shift away from the dollar, a unified Eurozone with a sovereign bond market waiting in the wings and a requirement on the International Monetary Fund to re-liquefy the world when the next financial crisis hits,” Rickards said.

“Put all that together and you see that the dollar’s days are numbered,” he added.

Obama Administration Defends 'Almost-Orwellian' NSA in Federal Court

In his December 2013 opinion in Klayman v. Obama, Judge Richard Leon of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that the "almost-Orwellian technology that enables the government to store and analyze the phone metadata of every telephone user in the United States" not only sounds like the stuff of dystopian science fiction, it "almost certainly does violate a reasonable expectation of privacy" under the Fourth Amendment. It was the first major legal defeat for the NSA.

NSA may be putting Israeli security interests above U.S., new document reveals

Greenwald, who published many of Snowden's revelations over the last year, released his book "No Place to Hide"on Wednesday. Concurrently with the release of the book, Greenwald made public slides that Snowden obtained from the NSA. One of them deals with intelligence relations with Israel.

"Balancing the SIGINT exchange equally between U.S. and Israeli needs has been a constant challenge in the last decade; it arguably tilted heavily in favor of Israeli security concerns. 9/11 came, and went, with NSA's only true Third Party CT relationship being driven almost totally by the needs of the partner," one slide reads.

Another slide states, "The Israelis are extraordinarily good SIGINT partners for us, but … they target us to learn our positions on Middle East problems. A NIE [National Intelligence Estimate] ranked them as the third most aggressive intelligence service against the U.S."

Police open fire on Palestine solidarity activists at Los Angeles rally for Israel

An officer with the Department of Homeland Security opened fire on Palestine solidarity activists as they drove away from a pro-Israel rally in front of the Federal Building in Westwood in Los Angeles on Sunday. The activists have also complained that they were attacked by Israel supporters.

The Electronic Intifada’s Ali Abunimah was attacked by Los Angeles police in the same area while filming a pro-Israel rally last week.

After being shot at, the men were detained by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and then smeared by various media outlets as violent members of Hamas.

Surprise! FEC employee who admitted violating the Hatch Act suffers mysterious hard drive crash

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) on Monday made yet another request to the federal government for details about a crashed hard drive that may have contained information allowing criminal charges to be brought against a federal official.

Issa’s newest letter concerns the hard drive of April Sands, a former employee at the Federal Election Commission who resigned in the spring after admitting to violations of the Hatch Act. That law puts restrictions on the ability of government officials to conduct political activities while on the job, or from government offices.

Issa noted that while Sands admitted to violating the law, the FEC just recently told Congress that it could not recover her hard drive, which made it impossible to seek criminal charges against her.

The International Monetary Fund was set up in 1945, describing itself as an “organization of 188 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world.”

This all sounds very laudable, but in reality the IMF has a very different purpose from that which is stated. If you look at the history of the IMF’s intervention in countries around the world you will see a trail of disaster and looting that repeats time and time again wherever they go.

Check out this blog post with reddit statistics. Notice Eglin Air Force Base as the “most addicted” city. This is about a year ago, so reddit has been getting heavily sh!tp0sted by government employees for at least this long.

Here is a paper funded by Eglin AFB studying how to establish majority views, social control, influence conversations, contain unwanted information. Eglin AFB is a major hub for Pentagon domestic manipulation programs online.

Deputy Tries To Shoot Dog, Misses And Hits 10-Year-Old

A ten-year-old boy was shot by a Coffee County deputy last Thursday after the deputy had aimed to shoot a dog during a manhunt.

Police were searching for 19-year-old Christopher Barnett, who had allegedly shot a police officer following a robbery at a gas station earlier in the day. Barnett had made his way to a trailer park in Douglas and was followed by police. Dakota Corbitt was in the front yard of his home in the trailer park during the police search for Barnett.

According to Coffee County Sheriff Doyle Wooten, a deputy went onto the property where Corbitt lives and claimed that a dog ran up to him. The deputy fired on the dog, but somehow missed and shot Corbitt in the back of the leg.

RESULTS OF ISRAELI TRAINED HOMELAND SECURITY OFFICERS

During the rally, at least three men waving Palestinian flags and carrying wooden sticks arrived at the rally and allegedly hit some of the protesters, according to the Jewish Journal.

The men, who told the newspaper that they were Palestinians living in Anaheim, returned to their truck and drove off after the melee was broken up.

As they left, a Department of Homeland Security officer fired his gun in the direction of the truck, Brian Thomas of the LAPD West Los Angeles Patrol Division, told the Jewish Journal.

TSA Lets Illegals Fly Without ID, Harasses Mom Over Breast Milk

While the TSA is perfectly content to let illegal aliens (and by extension potential terrorists) fly without any proper form of ID, American moms like Nicole Moberg are being harassed over their breast milk.

On Friday it emerged that the TSA was allowing illegal aliens to fly on commercial airliners inside the U.S. without verifiable identification. As long as the individual was able to produce a Notice to Appear form, they were allowed to board the plane.

A TSA spokesperson immediately took to social media to deny the report, claiming media outlet Breitbart had lied about the story. However, the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) obtained a statement from the Border Patrol union which revealed that the TSA had reversed the policy in the aftermath of the Breitbart story.

Beware the Dangers of Congress’ Latest Cybersecurity Bill

A new cybersecurity bill poses serious threats to our privacy, gives the government extraordinary powers to silence potential whistleblowers, and exempts these dangerous new powers from transparency laws.

The Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2014 ("CISA") was scheduled to be marked up by the Senate Intelligence Committee yesterday but has been delayed until after next week's congressional recess. The response to the proposed legislation from the privacy, civil liberties, tech, and open government communities was quick and unequivocal – this bill must not go through.

The bill would create a massive loophole in our existing privacy laws by allowing the government to ask companies for "voluntary" cooperation in sharing information, including the content of our communications, for cybersecurity purposes. But the definition they are using for the so-called "cybersecurity information" is so broad it could sweep up huge amounts of innocent Americans' personal data.

What we absolutely do NOT have in this country is "cybersecurity"; what we do have is industrial-strength cyberinsecurity. This means nothng gets typed into your computer that you do not want the entire world, or universe, to read, and you do not say anythng on your phone that you do now want broadcast for the world to hear.

Of course, the really bad guys are already encrypted against this; it is just normal, innocent, ordinary working Americans who have to be concerned about this pernicious breach of privacy, should this bill get passed.

Man Sues Feds After They Target Him for Photographing Rainbow Art

When 86-year-old photographer James Prigoff paused to photograph a natural gas storage tank in Boston 10 years ago, he was simply doing what countless of tourists have done before. The colorful tank, painted with a rainbow-like design, is a popular photo op. He had no reason to suspect his snapshot would prompt an ominous visit by a federal agent months later and the addition of his name to a government database of suspicious activity.

But his case is hardly unique. Similar circumstances have befallen four other people, who are suing the government over so-called suspicious activity reports, or SARs, filed against them.

Justice declines to pursue allegations that CIA monitored Senate Intel staff

The Justice Department has decided not to pursue accusations that the CIA spied on the Senate Intelligence Committee and allegations that committee staff slipped classified documents from a secure agency facility, McClatchy has confirmed.

"The department carefully reviewed the matters referred to us and did not find sufficient evidence to warrant a criminal investigation," said Justice Department spokesman Peter Carr.

The news marks an apparent end to an extraordinary feud that spilled into the public forum in early March over the committee’s report on the agency’s post-9/11 enhanced interrogation program. The dispute included competing Justice Department referrals, with both the CIA and the Senate Intelligence Committee accusing the other side of criminal conduct throughout the course of the interrogation study.

EPA claims it has the power to garnish wages without court approval

The Environmental Protection Agency has quietly claimed that it has the authority to unilaterally garnish the wages of individuals who have been accused of violating its rules.

According to The Washington Times, the agency announced the plan to enhance its purview last week in a notice in the Federal Register. The notice claimed that federal law allows the EPA to "garnish non-Federal wages to collect delinquent non-tax debts owed the United States without first obtaining a court order."

We are working behind the scenes to relaunch the company, perhaps with the help of other great local food innovators in our state. It might take months, it might take many years - we just can't tell at this point.

Even though it's the end for Bolzano Artisan Meats production at our little plant, our love of great heirloom pork, sustainable farming, and the history and science of dry curing will continue in some form or another. Exclusive: More Military Bases Asked to Provide Facilities for Illegal Aliens

As the border crisis continues, the Department of Defense is requesting that additional military bases make housing facilities and land available to accommodate a continued influx of illegal alien children.

According to information provided exclusively to Breitbart through a source requesting anonymity, Major General John T. Winters has specifically requested installation support for the Department of Homeland Security to provide temporary housing to unaccompanied alien children. The request requires bases to report any facilities across the U.S. that meet the following minimum specifications: a 24,000 square foot building, 15 acres of land "level and clear," and access to utilities. The information is due to be reported by Wednesday afternoon, July 9. As the border crisis continues, the Department of Defense is requesting that additional military bases make housing facilities and land available to accommodate a continued influx of illegal alien children.

The reason for housing these illegal immigrants on military encampments is simple; should reporters, or, God forbid, members of congress actually want to inspect these facilities to find out what is really going on, they can be rebuffed in the name of "national security"

Unfortunately, however, the United States of American HAS no "national security", courtesy of a deliberate Obama administration decision to completely leave our Southern borders undefended.

They are now undefended against disease; against possible "terrorists" sneaking in; and this economy will crash, because the US government doesn't have the money to pay for all of the services these illegal aliens will require.

But perhaps a "controlled economic crash" is precisely what the White House wants to have happen. As reported in zerohedge.com two days ago:

Germany Blesses “Bail-In” Deposit Confiscation Plan For Failing EU Banks

One year earlier than required, the German government approved plans to force creditors into propping up struggling banks across Europe. As WSJ reports, Germany “leads the way” in Europe by implementing European rules quickly and “creates instruments that allow the winding-down of big systemically relevant institutions without putting the financial stability at risk.” What this means is that taxpayers (theoretically) will not be on the hook (though in reality we are sure the mutually assured destruction defense will be played – especially if Deutsche runs into problems) but as German authorities explain, “This ensures that in times of crisis mainly owners and creditors will contribute to solving the crisis, and not taxpayers.” As a gentle reminder – creditors includes depositors… remember Cyprus?

U.S. officials played a role in Chilean killings following 1973 coup, says Chilean judge

It happened 41 years ago, but the aftershocks of an event known in Chile as “el once” continue to reverberate still.

Pronounced “el own-say,” the phrase means “the eleventh,” and it refers to the military coup on September 11, 1973, that overthrew the democratically elected government of Marxist president Salvador Allende, replacing it with 17 years of harsh dictatorial rule under Gen. Augusto Pinochet.

You may have seen the 1982 movie about the coup and its aftermath, entitled Missing, directed by Constantin Costa-Gavras, and starring Jack Lemmon and Sissy Spacek.

The film depicts events surrounding the capture and execution of two Americans – Charles Horman, 31, and Frank Teruggi, 24 – a crime carried out by Chilean security forces in the wake of the U.S-backed coup.

Second US Spy Busted In Germany In One Week

A year after Edward Snowden revealed that the US was bugging Angela Merkel's cell phone, first one then, moments ago, Suddeutsche Zeitung revealed that a second "spy case" involving the US (read CIA) have been revealed. According to SZ, an unidentified man working in military-related area likely to be questioned today over suspicion of spying for a U.S. intelligence service in Germany. The home and office of the suspect were being searched in Berlin area. SZ adds that the case is more serious than unrelated allegations against double agent at BND Federal Intelligence Service that emerged last week.

Escalating Domestic Warfare

Last month, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) released a report titled “War Comes Home: The Excessive Militarization of American Policing,” shedding much needed light on the emergence of a militarist ethos in policing across the nation.

In a review of public records, such as incident reports, requested from more than 260 law enforcement agencies in 25 states and the District of Columbia, the ACLU found that, from the responses received, 818 SWAT operations from 20 local law enforcement agencies located in 11 states fully met their research criteria, which took geographic diversity into account, among other factors. The SWAT incidents that were analyzed fell in the time period between July 2010 and last October.

And a war against American citizens, courtesy of the Federal government, is precisely what we have going on right now. The ever-escalating police violence against Americans is only one symptom of the systemic problems with which we are dealing.

Good jobs continue to get offshored/outsourced with a vengeance; the US government is broke from these illegal and immoral wars; our education system is completely dysfunctional, save for a handful of private schools; between the Patriot Act, the Homeland Security Act, and the NDAA, the Constitution and Bill of Rights have been eviscerated; and homeless Veterans sleep in our streets, many times with zero ability to get the medical care they desperately need when they need it. Many of the people in Detroit have had their water turned off, but the US government has billions to fork out to Israel, even though this is illegal under the Symington amendment, because Israel is a nuclear armed nation which refuses to join the NNPT or have its nuclear sites inspected.

And Congress?!? Completely zero credibility these days, consisting mostly millionaires at this point, who don't give a damn about the citizens they allegedly represent, but spend all their time courting the large corporations which fund their election cycles.

This just...bites, and I frankly do not see any way out of it, short of either a complete economic collapse in the US, or a world war. Not a pleasant alternative either way.

Big Banks Want Power to Declare Cyber War

Wall Street’s biggest trade group has proposed a government-industry cyber war council to stave off terrorist attacks that could trigger financial panic by temporarily wiping out account balances, according to an internal document.

The proposal by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, known as Sifma, calls for a committee of executives and deputy-level representatives from at least eight U.S. agencies including the Treasury Department, the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security, all led by a senior White House official.

The trade association also reveals in the document that Sifma has retained former NSA director Keith Alexander to “facilitate” the joint effort with the government. Alexander, in turn, has brought in Michael Chertoff, the former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, and his firm, Chertoff Group.

Why Is Obama Encouraging Illegal Immigration When We Can’t Take Care Of Millions Of Our Own Citizens?

It isn't an accident that our southern border is literally being flooded with illegal immigrants right now. Newspapers in El Salvador and Honduras have been publicizing how easy illegal immigration has become, and even the President of Honduras has said that people are coming to the United States for "Obama's amnesty".

When they arrive, thousands upon thousands of these illegal immigrants are using rehearsed answers that border patrol agents are hearing over and over again. Word has spread that if illegal immigrants claim that they are "fleeing gang violence" that it is more likely that they will be allowed to stay.

What we are witnessing down on the southern border is really unprecedented. It has been estimated that twelve times as many kids are crossing our borders illegally now compared to just a few years ago.

And they just keep on coming.

This is utter madness.

And what is Obama's true "intention" here?

My cynical guess is that this policy has three purposes.

First, to flood the marketplace with ultra-cheap labor, which large corporations, to whom Obama is beholden, love.

Secondly, to create generations of Democratic voters (if elections last much longer in this country)to give a party which has completely deserted and abandoned its alleged core principals, the edge in national elections.

Thirdly, to create a wellspring of revolt among Americans who are legally here, and/or born here, and desperate for some job, any job at all.

Nation-wide riots against illegal immigration would give Obama the excuse for suspending the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and instituting martial law, an action which he would just love to do.

US News thinks that Hillary Clinton’s formidable fundraising ability is a giant advantage, and there is no doubt that it is. But it is also a liability. The Majority Leader lost even though he out raised his challenger in the primary 10 to 1. That’s not supposed to happen. The cronies count it not happening.

Trenton resident claims city cops used excessive force, sicked K-9 on him for videotaping another arrest

Queen says the incident occurred that holiday afternoon because he videotaped the same cops allegedly beating up a female outside of a laundromat on the 900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard where he was washing his clothes.

A case before the U.S. Court of Appeals in the District of Columbia may determine the Affordable Care Act was written in such a way that it prevents the federal government’s HealthCare.gov web site from offering subsidies.

Now such a ruling would have a long way to go before it actually would become enacted — and a lot of legal hoops would have to be jumped through — but such a finding could be a show-stopper for Obamacare. More than 5 million of the 8 million who signed up for Obamacare through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ web site would thus not be eligible for tax credits. Most, presumably, would fall off the rolls of the insured.

Germany Holds Spy Suspect as U.S. Espionage Reports Swirl

German authorities are pursuing an espionage probe against a man identified by media as a German intelligence officer who may have passed secrets to the U.S.

Federal prosecutors said yesterday that a 31-year-old German was arrested on July 2 on suspicion of spying for an unidentified foreign power. Chancellor Angela Merkel’s spokesman, Steffen Seibert, called the case “a serious matter,” declining to elaborate.

Feds Threaten Journalist With Prison Over Report On Illegal Immigration

The Department of Defense has threatened me with imprisonment in response to our report on the illegal alien shelter at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

In a certified letter sent to Infowars, the Defense Department claims that I engaged in “unauthorized photography and broadcast” which were somehow “detrimental” to the “safety and security of the installation” even though the photos of Lackland’s illegal alien shelter, which is housing nearly 2,000 illegals at a cost to taxpayers of around $250 per immigrant per day, were taken outside the shelter and are clearly in the public’s best interest.

“You are hereby put on notice that should you make unauthorized entry into any of the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) installations in the future, a debarment order will be issued,” stated the letter, which added that further action could lead to imprisonment.

NYPD brutally arrest man on subway 'for sleeping on way from work' (VIDEO)

A video has recorded a violent altercation erupting between a man on a New York City subway and police officers, who apparently arrested him for the crime of nodding off while commuting home for work.

The incident occurs at the 57th street station stop in Manhattan in a mostly-empty carriage.

The video posted to YouTube on Tuesday does not show what sparked the police confrontation, though from the man’s reaction and those who viewed and filmed the scene, he was confronted by police for sleeping on the train.

The NSA marks and considers potential "extremists" all users of the internet anonymizer service Tor, German media reports. Among those are hundreds of thousands of privacy concerned people like journalists, lawyers and rights activists.

Searching for encryption software like the Linux-based operating system Tails also places you on the NSA grid, says a report by German broadcasters NDR and WDR. The report is based on analysis of the source code of the software used by NSA’s electronic surveillance program XKeyscore.

Tor is a system of servers, which routes user requests through a layer of secured connections to make it impossible to identify a user’s IP from the addresses of the websites he/she visits. The network of some 5,000 is operated by enthusiasts and used by hundreds of thousands of privacy-concerned people worldwide. Some of them live in countries with oppressive regimes, which punish citizens for visiting websites they deem inappropriate.

This is reason enough to consider holding at least a portion of your physical assets abroad.

When the police caught up with Smith's attacker a couple weeks later, they discovered he was already standing trial for the rape and sexual assault of another woman. Free speech banned: Student group sues 4 US universities that ‘stifle dissent’

Arguing that free speech is suffering at colleges across the US, an advocacy group filed lawsuits against four universities, seeking to strengthen the rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) has filed lawsuits against four schools – Iowa State University, Ohio University, Chicago University and Citrus College in Glendora, California – that it says disrupt the flow of free speech in a number of ways, including the banning of particular T-shirts, for example, or by refusing to permit certain speakers address the student body on controversial issues.

According to the group’s estimate, about 60 percent of public universities and colleges have restrictions on rights guaranteed by the First Amendment.

Obese South Carolina Storm Trooper on Power Trip is Suspended

A suspended South Carolina state trooper threatened to use a Taser on Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Sam Montgomery during a traffic stop last week for speeding. South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. R.S. Salter shouted directions at Montgomery during the stop early Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3, 262-pound lineman attempts to comply when Salter tells him if he can't follow the commands 'the next thing you're going to get is the Taser.'

'Whoa,' Montgomery responds, 'I'm not trying to cause problems.'

Patent office didn’t receive a single public complaint before stripping Redskins trademark

The recent decision by an obscure administrative law board to cancel the Washington Redskins‘ trademark registrations came despite the fact the agency hadn’t received a single letter from a member of the public complaining about the team’s name, records show.

The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, which is part of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, ruled last month that the name was disparaging to American Indians. The team is appealing that decision.

All but four nations are subject to NSA surveillance – new Snowden leak

Previously undisclosed files leaked to the media by former intelligence contractor Edward Snowden now show that the United States National Security Agency has been authorized to spy on persons in all but four countries.

One former senior defense official who spoke to the journalists on condition of anonymity said that the broad authority is allowed so that the US government is able to assess any developing situations around the world at the drop of a hat.

Huge demand for NSA-proof email: ProtonMail uses a month's server capacity in 3 days

ProtonMail promised to ignore law enforcement requests, according to FreedomHacker, "unless they are accompanied by an enforceable Swiss court order. These court orders are extremely difficult to obtain as the case must first work its way through the Swiss legal system which has strong privacy protections. And even then, we do not have access to user encryption keys so any data we do turn over would be encrypted."

Conviction in "Cannibal Cop" Case Overturned

A federal judge overturned the 2013 conviction of a former NYPD police officer who was accused in a gruesome plot to kidnap women, cook them and dine on their “girl meat,” and he was set to be released Tuesday.

The kidnapping conspiracy conviction against Gilberto Valle was rejected by Manhattan Federal District Court judge Paul G. Gardephe, who said there was not enough evidence to support it, according to the New York Times. Valle faced a sentence of up to life in prison for that conviction.

PayPal freezes out NSA-proof, encrypted ProtonMail

PayPal has restricted payments to and from ProtonMail, a Swiss-based email service offering full end-to-end encryption, “pending further review.” When pressed, PayPal questioned the legality of the anti-snooping service.

ProtonMail announced the payment freeze in a statement Tuesday, saying PayPal had made no attempt to contact them before shutting them out.

“When we pressed the PayPal representative on the phone for further details, he questioned whether ProtonMail is legal and if we have government approval to encrypt emails, the statement read.

U.S. Relies On Law from Governments Which Don’t Even HAVE a Constitution to Justify Assassination of U.S. Citizens By Drone

The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution says:

No person shall … be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law ….

So how did the legal memorandum “justifying” assassination of U.S. citizens by drone try to sidestep the Fifth Amendment?

It relied on reasoning from two countries that don’t have any constitution.

The New York Times reports:

One might have expected a thoughtful memo that carefully weighed the pros and cons and discussed how such a strike accords with international and Constitutional law.

Instead, the memo turns out to be a slapdash pastiche of legal theories — some based on obscure interpretations of British and Israeli law — that was clearly tailored to the desired result. Perhaps the administration held out so long to avoid exposing the thin foundation on which it based such a momentous decision.

Neither England nor Israel have a constitution.

In June, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) brought more attention to police militarization when it issued a comprehensive, nearly 100-page (appendix and endnotes included) report titled, “War Comes Home: The Excessive Militarization of American Policing.” Based on public records requests to more than 260 law enforcement agencies in 26 states, the ACLU concluded that “American policing has become excessively militarized through the use of weapons and tactics designed for the battlefield” and that this militarization “unfairly impacts people of color and undermines individual liberties, and it has been allowed to happen in the absence of any meaningful public discussion.”

We are very lucky here in Hawaii that we do not have a lot of this kind of behaviour on the part of the police; not that it absolutely doesn't happen, but it is far rarer than for people on the mainland.

But the other aspect of the militarization of the police this article doesn't address is the training of the US police by Israel's IDF, which makes US police view American citizens very much the way the IDF views - and treats - Palestinians.

Watch Out for that Banana Peel

Recently, the EU announced that it is looking into legislation to allow the savings of EU citizens to "be used to fund long-term investments to boost the economy and help plug the gap left by banks since the financial crisis."

Sounds reasonable enough. But why would legislation be needed? It's perfectly legal for people to invest their savings in such ventures now, should they choose to do so.

Let's see what else the EU have to say: They are considering a law "to mobilize more personal pension savings for long-term financing." Mobilise? An odd term to use when discussing privately held savings. It could mean "encourage investment," or it could just as easily mean "confiscate." The former might be okay, but the latter would clearly not.

All America is now aware that the IRS is acting illegally. After all, such political targeting was an article of impeachment against Richard Nixon. So the time has come to take the discussion to the next level. Is the IRS, clearly acting illegally, itself legal? and the answer is "no", it is not. The Constitution forbids direct non-apportioned taxation of the people. An earlier version of the Income Tax was struck down by the United States Supreme Court on those grounds.

The Federal Reserve (itself a clearly unconstitutional usurpation of the money-creation authority vested in Congress by the Constitution) and the IRS claim that the passage of the 16th Amendment allows an income tax, but there are several problems with that claim. First and foremost, the 16th Amendment failed ratification! The necessary 3/4 of the states did not ratify the Amendment. Requests for proof that this Amendment was actually ratified are ignored. The IRS considers their enforcement actions the only legal reply they are required to make. And judges in tax courts (who are funded from tax revenues) inevitably refuse to examine the issue and simply declare from the bench that the Amendment was ratified, a power and authority not granted to judges under the Constitution.

There is one notable exception to this judicial legerdemain, and that is judge James C. Fox, who stated quite clearly in the court record for Sullivan Vs United States that the 16th Amendment, on examination, failed ratification. Sadly, however, that was not a tax case, and the judge mentioned the non-ratification of the 16th Amendment as justification for the enforcement of laws that may not have legally been passed, but were presumed valid through long use (i.e. we got away with it this long, so why should we change it now).

Yet another problem with the 16th Amendment is the United States Supreme Court, which ruled in Stanton vs Baltic Mining that the 16th Amendment, even if ratified, did not actually grant any new tax authority to the US Government. For one thing the original Constitutional prohibition against a direct non-apportioned tax is still in effect because it was not explicitly repealed by the hastily-contrived 16th Amendment.

So here we are, with the IRS clearly breaking the law, acting illegally, for all America to see, which is why this is a great time for activists to take the public discussion to the next level and ask if the IRS itself, and its master, the Federal Reserve, are actually legal under the Constitution.

BATF abuses in history - Ruby Ridge

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms first became aware of Weaver in July 1986 when he was introduced to an ATF informant at a meeting of the Aryan Nations. Weaver had been invited by Frank Kumnick, who was the original target of the ATF investigation. Over the next three years, Weaver and the informant met several times.[4] In October 1989, the ATF claims that Weaver sold the informant two sawed-off shotguns, with the barrels shortened beyond the legal limit set by federal law. Weaver denied this, claiming agents purchased legal shotguns from Weaver and later shortened the barrels themselves. In November 1989 Weaver accused the informant of being police; the informant's ATF handler ordered him to have no further contact with Weaver. In June 1990, ATF agents attempted to have Weaver act as an informant for their investigation into the Aryan Nations organization.

Georgia : GYLA Says Decision on Ivanishvili Citizenship 'Illegal'

Tbilisi-based legal advocacy group, Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) said in a statement on April 5, that the Civil Registry Agency’s decision to refuse Bidzina Ivanishvili in citizenship through naturalization “is not in line with provisions of the Georgian legislation.”

Saakashvili still has until the end of today to overturn the Civil Registry's recommendation that Ivanishvili's application be refused. If he doesn't then he is guilty of making the law up as he goes along...

“If at the time of undergoing naturalization process, an applicant has a foreign citizenship, there should be this applicant’s declared will that in case of entering into the Georgian citizenship, he/she will renounce citizenship of any other country,” GYLA said.

Before applying for citizenship through naturalization, Ivanishvili on December 29, 2011 submitted to the French embassy in Tbilisi a request for launching procedures for his withdrawal from the French citizenship. One of his lawyers, Shalva Tadumadze, said at the time that the move did not mean that Ivanishvili would now become a stateless person; Ivanishvili’s French citizenship would only be revoked in case of gaining the Georgian citizenship, the lawyer said.

“The Civil Registry Agency was aware about [Ivanishvili’s] will that he would have renounced his French citizenship in case of gaining Georgian citizenship. Accordingly, in this particular case, the goal of the law that a person should be only a Georgian citizen after receiving Georgian citizenship through naturalization would have been achieved,” GYLA said.

GYLA also cited the January 30, 2009 presidential order number 39 and a citizenship application form to back its claim that the Civil Registry Agency’s decision was not in accordance to the law. The group said that a citizenship application form contains one line in which an applicant is required to state that in case of granting Georgian citizenship he/she agrees to renounce citizenship of a foreign country and has to indicate that country.

GYLA says this formulation in the application form “unambiguously” shows that an applicant has the right to renounce foreign citizenship only after entering into the Georgian citizenship.

“The goal of the Georgian legislation is that after gaining Georgian citizenship through naturalization, a person should not remain a citizen of any other country. In this particular case, this goal was easily achievable – the Georgian President could have issued a decree on granting Georgian citizenship to a person, which would have been enforced not immediately (to avoid that a person would become a citizen of two countries simultaneously), but only after receiving an official document from the relevant French authorities on satisfying [Ivanishvili’s] application on renouncing French citizenship,” GYLA said.

Georgia : Ivanishvili Still Confident in Regaining Citizenship

A day after being refused in citizenship through naturalization by the Civil Registry Agency, Bidzina Ivanishvili, leader of an opposition Georgian Dream coalition, said he was still confident that he would regain his Georgian passport.

He said the Civil Registry Agency’s decision was so “feeble” and “senseless” that it was not even worth of commenting.

“We will boost the Georgian people’s spirit; I have a concrete plan,” he said. “We will gradually force the authorities to back-off from violence… I promise that we will bring on a situation by this fall wherein the Georgians won’t have any fear and they will freely turn out [at polling stations] and make right choice and we will say no to oppressor Saakashvili,” Ivanishvili said.

Ivanishvili also said on April 5, that decision of the Civil Registry Agency showed President Saakashvili’s “fear” towards a strong political opponent.

“Saakashvili is so afraid, he is in such agony, that he is not even capable to look several days ahead, otherwise he could have seen very well an outrage of the Georgian and international community towards his illegal actions,” Ivanishvili said.

In his comments Ivanishvili hinted that after coming into politics he was trying to provoke President Saakashvili on such actions that would have demonstrated, as Ivanishvili put it, “his real face.”

“I’ve been trying in recent six months to act in a way, to address him in a way that would have maximally promptly and well demonstrated his real face… I think we have managed it very well and I think no one in Georgia has an illusion about who this man [Saakashvili] is and about the fact that the country is ruled by a single man and everything depends on his mood,” Ivanishvili said.

It was reported on BBC News tonight that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four others will be charged with orchestrating the September 11 attacks.

What the report omitted to say was that many sources, including the New York Times (could any institution be less anti-establishment?), reported in April 2009 that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed had been waterboarded 183 times in Guantanano Bay.

Free, Fair and Competitive Elections in the Republic of Georgia?

What does the Georgian government think it can get away with, and what is it willing to risk? Too many people in Misha's circle have blood on their hands and will not give up the power which is their main or only source of livelihood; even it is the family business with some, without more blood being spilt. Many of them have demonstrated their willingness to kill before (for example, Culture Minister Nika Rurua was once exiled from the country for his long involvement with murderous gangsters only to be rehabilitated by Saakashvili without any renunciation of his crimes), and "Bacho" Akhalaia, the current Minister of Defense that once worked in the prison system and tortured prisoners for the fun of it, causing riots which resulted in prisoners being gunned down.

Such people have no place a democratic society, as confirmed by reports from the US Embassy and Human Rights organizations; they, including closely knit clans will likely not hesitate to kill and torture again. Bidzina Ivanishvili will have to maneuver carefully to prevent his supporters and the masses he seeks to win over from being threatened or killed, while also looking out for his own life (example of the late Badri Patarkatsishvili, another man branded as “oligarch” in the same way, can be recalled here).

Some may consider that Georgia is in a pretty sorry state when its people have to resort to placing their hopes in the hands of a person [Ivanishvili] worth 6.4 billion USD, but with no experience of elective office or any discernible program. This just goes to show the extent to which real democracy and rule of law is absent in Georgia. On the other hand, if someone with so much money can’t change the situation, who on Earth possibly could?

Ivanishvili’s wealth, and the fact that he is not Saakashvili, is his so-called competitive advantage, and among the cards that he can really play. However, Georgians do have the democratic right to elect someone for these reasons alone, if they so choose, but if the international community had accepted the democratic will of the Georgian people during the days of President Zviad Gamsakhurdia, the first democratically elected president, who alienated everyone except the voters by doing what he told the voters he would do, we would not be facing the present problem.

Georgian Dream Slams Decision on Ivanishvili’s Citizenship

The authorities’ “illegal” and “politically-motivated” decision not to grant Bidzina Ivanishvili Georgian citizenship through naturalization will not derail his opposition coalition Georgian Dream’s electoral plans, Maia Panjikidze, a spokesperson for the Ivanishvili-led coalition said on April 4.

MP Giorgi Targamadze, leader of Christian-Democratic Movement and of a small parliamentary minority group, said “no one will believe” the ruling party lawmakers’ statements that the Civil Registry Agency’s decision was only about legal matters.

It seems that the Saakashvili gang, unable to find a reason to refuse Ivanishvili the restoration of his citizenship which was withdrawn, apparently in an attempt to prevent him from running in the forthcoming elections, has resorted to stonewalling tactics by saying, after waiting the full 3 months in which they must legally respond to his application to become a naturalized Georgian citizen, that he must now apply for dual-citizenship (as he currently holds a French passport) and wait a further 3 months for a decision on his new application, rather than grant him citizenship now, under the naturalization process.

Even worse than SOPA: New CISPA cybersecurity bill will censor the Web

H.R. 3523, a piece of legislation dubbed the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (or CISPA for short), has been created under the guise of being a necessary implement in America’s war against cyberattacks. OK for Government Witnesses to Lie to Grand Jury: Supreme Court

In addition to ruling 5-4 this week to allow prison strip searches for minor offenses, they now have ruled that government witnesses -- informants -- can lie to Grand Juries and, in so doing, will be immune from civil lawsuits by the wrongfully accused.

Justice Alito concurred with the strip search opinion above, and he is at the forefront of this current ruling, which I believe sets a horrible precedent that lying even to a Grand Jury carries no penalty whatsoever.

UK Teenager arrested for comments made on Facebook page

A teenager has been arrested for allegedly making comments on Facebook about the deaths of six British soldiers in Afghanistan last week.
According to Sky News, Azhar Ahmed of Ravensthorpe (19) posted comments on his profile page, criticizing the level of attention British soldiers who died in a bomb blast received, compared to that received by Afghan civilians killed in the war.
He was arrested on Friday and charged over the weekend.

As I type these words, the question on everyone's mind is whether this international revolution that started in Iceland and has already spread to Egypt and the Middle East will continue to spread across America. At the gas pumps and the supermarket checkout lines, the people speak of rebellion openly, if less furtively with each passing day.

There really is no way to avoid it. The money-addicts have created a world where firing the government is not only the best option; for most of us it is the only option. To not revolt is to condemn our children to lives of starvation and hopeless debt slavery to the Private Central Bankers, Goldman-Sachs, Morgan Stanley, etc. et. al. under a government with a demonstrated history of looting the people to feed the bankers, a government that views our lives as cheap and easily sacrificed for wars of conquest, or to be discarded without complaint to keep Israel happy when it attacks Americans in international waters.

Even now, the US Government prepares to solve its present debt crisis by embezzling the American taxpayer of their retirements by defaulting on the loans made to the US Government by Social Security. They will praise your silent consent as 'patriotism, but is such silence really patriotic? The men who created this nation did not think so!

The tragic reality is that the US Government has already declared war on the people of the United States. Bit by bit our rights are trampled on. Our wealth is confiscated for the benefit of a foreign power. Our homes are confiscated to pay the gambling debts of the bankers. Our emails are read, our phone calls listened to, our computers ransacked, all without warrant or due process. Torture and extrajudicial executions are the new reality of life under this tyranny. Our freedoms are confiscated to so that the government does not have to look with fear upon the people.

Even as our taxes increase, the maintenance of the nation is abandoned by a government intent on enriching a foreign power and fighting that foreign power's wars, along with saving the Wall Street money-junkies from the consequences of their swindles. Worse, to serve their foreign masters, the present government seeks to reduce the people of the united states to mere chattel from whom wealth may be extracted at leisure. Look around at our deteriorated condition and you see the growing effects of a war of conquest against the American people by the present government and financial institutions. The starvation and privations of the American people not only equals that of the nations in revolt; they are in actuality far worse! Americans have far greater reason to fire their government than the Icelanders, Tunisians, or Egyptians!

What Patrick Henry really meant in those final words went beyond mere drama. Patrick Henry declared that he would no longer be a slave, either to King George or to the Bank of England. He would be free, or he would be dead, but either way King George III would no longer own him as a slave, nor the Bank of England enjoy automatic title to the proceeds of his labor, so better for England to quit and save the lives of their soldiers then to waste lives seeking a slave who refused to be a slave.

Tragically, money-addicts never care about the lives of their own soldiers.

So, King George III, in the throes of his money-addiction, and as owned by the Bank of England as the present government is by the Federal Reserve, tried to prove Patrick Henry wrong, which led to the humiliation at Yorktown.

Addicts to other peoples' money know no limits, no morality, no sense of fair play. They are hopelessly trapped by the allure of glittering gold. Like a Magpie, they simply must possess all that sparkles!

Bernie Madoff is the classic example. Co-founder of NASDAQ, with more money than any one man could spend in a lifetime, and he still felt compelled compelled to defraud his investors for another $65 billion. This is mental illness; the money-addiction that grips Wall Street and Washington DC, which symptoms manifest as (in one example) a psychotic compulsion to wear the entire productivity of a worker's life as a decoration on one's wrist. Not content with that, next year it will be the need to wear the the entire productivity of 100 workers' lives as a decoration on one's wrist that will drive the money addicts to greater crimes against the people.

Money addicts do not see their behavior as wrong or evil. Secure in their religious delusions that wealth is the sign of God's favor, they see themselves as heroes and heroines. Lloyd Blankfein, the head of Goldman Sachs, declared he was doing "God's work" at the time we now know Goldman Sachs was looting taxpayer money directly from the US Treasury to their own pockets. In their own minds the money addicts are the good guys; the stars of the world, the rightful inheritors of all of life's blessings. Sadly, history has shown that it is often easier to kill money-junkies than to cure their addiction, let alone get them to change their minds about themselves and to acknowledge their problem and its high social costs.

So, yes, a revolution in the streets of America is now an inevitability, albeit a revolution to be fought not with guns and bombs, but with keyboards and the truth. The money-addicts in Wall Street and DC have created a situation in which revolution is unavoidable, and already we see the hired things of the bankers cracking the heads of those people who dare to proclaim their refusal to pay debts not of their own making.

And as has been the case in Egypt, the US military, openly abused on their mortgages by J. P. Morgan, stand with the people. So do many police officers whose pension funds were destroyed by the mortgage-backed securities fraud.

The message to those who would rebuild their failed financial palaces on the backs of the people is thus a simple one. We shall not bail you out ever again. Yes, you may murder those who refuse to live on less so that you may have more, but it shall not change the final outcome. Living or dead, we are your slaves no longer.

That was Patrick Henry's message all those years ago, and it is still true today.
