RANT: ‘Benefit Cheats’ RAIDED While HSBC Assists Terrorists?!

Yesterday, I covered a story that exposed HSBC as working with terrorists, royals, drug barons and celebrities to help them avoid paying taxes. Today, I was trying to enjoy lunch when I came across a news story so outrageous that I was almost forced to seek medical assistance for shock. British Police launched a dawn raid, not on HSBC, but families accused of benefit fraud. Benefit fraud isn’t a great thing obviously, but let’s put it into perspective.

Don’t forget this is the same country that is currently hunting people down for attempting to buy copies of Charlie Hebdo and letting people die by cutting spending on healthcare to balance a budget.

Indian Citizen Walking in Alabama Left Paralyzed After Police Encounter

A visiting man from India who just arrived at his family’s home in Alabama has been partially paralyzed after an encounter with police while out for a walk.

Sureshbhai Patel, 57, was stopped by two Madison police officers along a neighborhood sidewalk, who later said they were responding to a suspicious person call.

"He was just walking on the sidewalk as he does all the time," said his son, Chirag Patel. "They put him to the ground."

Canadians Sued The Bank Of Canada & Won. Mainstream Media & Government Blacks Out Story

Recently, constitutional lawyer Rocco Galati won yet another round of appeals set forth by the Bank of Canada in a case involving two Canadians who filed an action in federal court to restore The Bank of Canada to its original purpose and operations. This is a very significant story but you probably haven’t heard of it. Why? The mainstream media and government have blacked out the story for reasons that appear to stem from fear of how the public will react to realizing they’ve been systematically enslaved for decades.

Obama slams Staples, corporations for Obamacare-tied cuts: ‘Shame on them’

President Obama didn’t take kindly to Staples executives who slashed worker hours due to what they said was the need to curtail expense related to Obamacare, saying such corporations can “well afford” to pay.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No, we CAN'T! American businesses were already hovering at the edge of collapse before ACA and the higher costs will and are driving many of them over that edge into bankruptcy and closure. Add the the fact that the Obamacare-compliant health insurance isn't worth the paper it is on which means Americans who have been forced to buy those policies are being driven into bankruptcy by the unpaid portions of their medical bills!

Washington DC and Wall Street are still laboring under the delusion that there is still vast amounts of wealth out here in the heartland and all they have to do is figure out how to scam it out of us all. But the well is dry, the barn is empty, the cookie jar has no more to give.

Fire as U.S. Policy

When news broke of an ISIS video that appeared to show a Jordanian prisoner being burnt alive, the Pope of Hope™ took the opportunity to hypocritically condemn its “viciousness” and “barbarity” while pundits labeled ISIS’s reprehensible act “medieval” and compared it to what was once done in the Middle Ages.

This statement is accurate, of course, if you define “Middle Ages” as 70 years ago in Dresden…

Stripping a Professor of Tenure Over a Blog Post

Professor John McAdams is being stripped of tenure by Marquette University for writing a blog post that administrators characterize as inaccurate and irresponsible.

Academics all over the United States ought to denounce the firing of the 69-year-old, a Harvard Ph.D. who taught courses on American politics and public policy. If tenure can be taken away based upon one controversial blog post, what protection does it offer? How many tenured professors will censor themselves from participating in public conversation to avoid a similar fate? Marquette has violated core academic values, regardless of what one thinks of McAdams' commentary or the shabby treatment of the graduate instructor he was criticizing (who deserves sympathy for the horrifying torrent of misogyny others directed at her).

Fed mobilizes against Rand Paul's audit legislation

The Federal Reserve is mobilizing against Sen. Rand Paul's increasingly popular effort to audit the central bank.

“This is about interfering with the making of monetary policy. I respect the gentleman from Kentucky, but he’s wrong,” said Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas President Richard Fisher on Fox Business Monday evening.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Under the Constitution, only the government has the authority to make monetary policy, not a privately-owned central bank. And because the Constitution does not authorize the delegation of transfer of such authority, it would require a Constitutional amendment to do so. The federal Reserve is hence unconstitutional and the deb owed by the American people to the private central bankers is null and void.

Obama still argues that we can't have transparency or the terrorists will win

The Obama administration, self-described Most Transparent Administration in History™, is currently engaged in a multi-pronged legal battle to prevent an iota more transparency related to illegal torture. If there was any lingering hopes that the President might use the last two years of his final term in office to bring some accountability to the despicable actions of the CIA or the US military, it appears that he will instead continue to use the power of the office to fight to keep them hidden.

Later today, the government will showcase its latest suppression effort, as the Justice Department will urge a federal judge in New York to keep secret hundreds of photos of torture from Abu Ghraib prison from almost a decade ago. President Obama once promised to release the photos, only to reverse himself months after coming into office – and he’s since been fighting for years to keep them secret.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Imagine my (absence of) surprise here.

History will ultimately judge President Obama as one of the most profound disappointments of American leadership in the 21st century.

And despite his faux populist persona, he is no less a slave to the global corporate and banking institutions than are his Republican counterparts.

It doesn't matter any more which of the two parties gets elected nationally; what wins is more corporate wealth; more personal wealth inequality; and more wars.

TSA Demands Internal Passport for Domestic Travel

Precedents exist for requiring citizens to produce special ID for domestic travel; they include Nazi Germany, apartheid South Africa and Russia (both Imperial and Soviet).

Over the Christmas season, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) quietly announced that America was walking down that path. By 2016, all domestic air travel will require either a traditional passport or a federally-compliant ID card called "Real ID." State driver's licenses will no longer allow Americans access to domestic flights, as they do now. Real ID will constitute an internal passport.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The courts have repeatedly ruled that travel is a Constitutional right that may not be infringed on. U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens in Saenz v. Roe, 526 U.S. 489 (1999) held that the United States Constitution protected three separate aspects of the right to travel among the states: the right to enter one state and leave another, the right to be treated as a welcome visitor rather than a hostile stranger (protected by the "privileges and immunities" clause in Article IV, § 2). Having to have an internal passport is being treated as a hostile stranger!

Silver and Gold Truth Versus Fiat Lies

What do loss of confidence, loss of faith in financial systems, and pervasive lies have to do with gold and silver? The answer begins with: Gold is far more truthful money – central banks can’t print it or create it from “thin air.” Dollars, euros, yen and others are fiat currency units based on confidence and debt (not assets) and are supported by government mandates that these pieces of colored paper and computerized digits shall be accepted as money.

NY Times Changes Tune on Oil Price Drop Motive – NOW: Saudis (& USA) vs Russia

Those relying on the notoriously servile NY Times are now learning, several weeks late, that the recent drop in oil prices is likely politically motivated.

Mike Whitney reports (“The Fallujah Option for East Ukraine”):

Until this week, the mainstream media dismissed the idea that the Saudis were deliberately pushing down oil prices to hurt Russia. They said the Saudis were merely trying to retain “market share” by maintaining current production levels and letting prices fall naturally. But it was all bunkum as the New York Times finally admitted on Tuesday in an article titled: “Saudi Oil Is Seen as Lever to Pry Russian Support From Syria’s Assad”. Here’s a clip from the article:

Webmaster's Commentary:

And like so much of US foreign policy, this one was not thought all the way through as to the harm it would cause the rest of the world.

Whistleblower: AG nominee in $1 billion Obama cover-up

New revelations are emerging that could implicate Loretta Lynch, President Obama’s attorney general nominee, in the world’s largest banking scandal.

As WND reported, Lynch, as the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, oversaw the investigation in 2012 of drug-related international money laundering allegations against London-based HSBC Holdings LLC.

As a result of HSBC agreeing to a settlement requiring the international bank holding company to pay the U.S. government more than $1.2 billion in fines for money laundering, Lynch’s office agreed in return not to press criminal charges against any bank employee of the U.S.-based HSBC subsidiary.

Parents branded child abusers by NHS 'bullies'... simply for refusing a heel prick test on their newborn baby

It should have been the most joyous moment of their lives, one they would look back on fondly for years to come.

The couple could never have imagined that their refusal to have a simple heel prick test for their son would escalate into a full-blown investigation by midwives, social workers and even the police; or that before their son Charlie was even three weeks old, he would have to endure two intimate internal examinations.

How Obama Is Making the World More Dangerous

Whether it be the Middle East, Asia, Russia’s border, or the world economy, the actions of the Obama administration have leaned towards various forms of provocation and aggression – economic sanctions, threats, funneling arms, etc. This dynamic makes an eventual regional conflict inevitable, beyond the one already occurring in Syria/Iraq, where a U.S.-led proxy war against Syria and Iran is dangerously close to a full-out regional war.

The US public is dangerously ignorant about the significance of these various regional conflicts. To the extent that they’re even reported, the “news” has excelled at blaming others and sharpening conflict, rather than shedding light or presenting peaceful alternatives.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because a geopolitical military strategy is the most hamfistedly, pigheadedly stupid thing the US government could do is, unfortunately, absolutely no guarantee that the US government will not do it.

A proxy war with Russia, which could well devolve into an actual, hot, shooting war, is just such a concept.

And the cold, hard, truth of the business is that at this point, the US military does not have the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia; and that is what makes the military scenario so scarily dangerous.

IF the Obama administration decides to give legal aid to Ukraine, this will be tantamount to having declared war on Russia.

This war will involve both NATO and Europe, which has seen two disastrous wars on its own territory, and it appears that Hollande and Merkel are doing their level best to stop World War 3.

But please, God, SOMEONE in Obama's inner circle has to have the courage to tell him the truth; that if he cannot manage Poroshenko, the absolute wild card here, he had better back away from this upcoming debacle, and at warp speed.

France's Hollande is already calling for more autonomy for the breakaway Eastern Ukrainian republics; if that does not happen, the bloodshed will continue, and the US will again be mired in an horrific war, propping up a tinpot dictator to absolutely no avail, and with no tangible good coming to the people of the United States because of it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have sounded like a chipped CD on this issue, but please, people with skills and kids, get the hell out of this country, and right now.

As for the claim that keeping physical gold is now considered money-laundering. This is something that is being lobbied for by the commodity brokers who trade in paper gold and silver, and sell 100 Oz of paper for every 1 Oz they actually have. Aware that the public is learning of this fraud and preferring physical over paper, the commodity brokers are trying to create a financial system where people can buy gold and silver, but ONLY in paper form, so they can go on playing their little scam. But the paper gold and silver has no more real value than a Federal Reserve Note; the cost of paper and ink. This is the beginning of the outlawing of real gold and silver to the people, leaving them with a paper illusion in its place.

How Vaccine Hysteria Could Spark A Totalitarian Nightmare

So, I’ve been asked, “Why not vaccinate your children? Why not take the influenza vaccine?” Well, I believe the choice is up to you. I’ve covered my thinking about the influenza vaccine in an article in the Journal of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, available online, but here are some facts about childhood vaccines that make me think twice about their use. I traced these points back to the source, so these are not blindly reprinted from hearsay Internet articles. In some cases I found public references to be wrong but the data to be correct when I got to the source. Much of this comes from government reporting. Anyone can research disease incidence by reading MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) from the CDC and accessing the search engine for VAERS (Vaccine complication reporting site) at http://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/index.php.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF you have a very young child, and your state still gives you the option of opting out of vaccinations (a window which I think may be closing, nationally, soon) please do the due diligence on the shot the pediatrician wants to give your child.

Please also research a mercury preservative, thimerosal, which is included in that shot, and what the true safety record is.

And if all vaccines are "perfectly safe", why was a rider attached to the Patriot Act, indemnifying vaccine manufacturers from any harm or liability if the vaccine injured, or caused death, to the person vaccinated?!?

As reported at ronpaulforums.com:

In 2002, Eli Lilly flexed its muscles at the highest level of the U.S. government in an audacious Lillygate. The event was the signing of the Homeland Security Act, praised by President George W. Bush as a “heroic action” that demonstrated “the resolve of this great nation to defend our freedom, our security and our way of life.” Soon after the Act was signed, New York Times columnist Bob Herbert discovered what had been slipped into the Act at the last minute and on November 25, 2002, he wrote, “Buried in this massive bill, snuck into it in the dark of night by persons unknown…was a provision that—incredibly—will protect Eli Lilly and a few other big pharmaceutical outfits from lawsuits by parents who believe their children were harmed by thimerosal.” Thimerosal is a preservative that contains mercury and is used by Eli Lilly and others in vaccines. A sample of those who have been on the Eli Lilly payroll includes: Former President George Herbert Walker Bush (one-time member of the Eli Lilly board of directors) Former CEO of Enron, Ken Lay (one-time member of the Eli Lilly board of directors) George W. Bush’s former director of Management and Budget, Mitch Daniels (a former Eli Lilly vice president) George W. Bush’s Homeland Security Advisory Council member, Sidney Taurel (current CEO of Eli Lilly) The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (a recipient of Eli Lilly funding)

Folks, please think: the introduction of this rider was no accident.

The Cowardly and Despicable American Presstitutes

So the question is: Why are the presstitutes all over some hapless journalist rather than holding accountable the Great Liars, John Kerry and Barak Obama?

The answer is: It is costless to the presstitutes to try to destroy, for totally insignificant reasons–perhaps just for the pleasure of it, like “American Sniper” killing people for fun–one of their own, but they would be fired if they hold Kerry and Obama accountable, and they know it. But they have to get someone, so they eat their own.

A democracy without an honest media cannot exist. In America democracy is a facade behind which operates every evil inclination of mankind. During the past 14 years the American people have supported governments that have invaded, bombed, or droned seven countries, killing, maiming, and displacing millions of people for no reason other than profit and hegemonic power. There is scant sign that this has caused very many Americans sleepless nights or a bad conscience.

Economist: New Bill Turns TSA Into Tax Police

Economist Martin Armstrong warns that a new bill which directs the TSA to apprehend and investigate anyone “suspected of committing a crime” would turn the federal agency into a new branch of the IRS.

The TSA Office of Inspection Accountability Act (H.R. 719), introduced on Wednesday by U.S. Rep. John Katko, would require TSA Criminal Investigators to spend a minimum of 50% of their time “investigating, apprehending, or detaining individuals suspected of committing a crime.”

According to Armstrong, the legislation would create a new kind of “Berlin Wall around all American citizens” because it would provide the federal agency with a huge remit to prevent people from traveling.

Obama readies war powers pitch

The White House is poised to send a formal request to Congress asking for a new authorization to use military force against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

The request, expected within the next week, would come days after ISIS released a video showing a caged Jordanian pilot being burned alive — a further display of the group’s brutality that one Republican lawmaker described Wednesday as a “game-changer.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

So here is what I think is going on. The people of the conquered US provinces are taking their nations back (or keeping them from being conquered). But the US cannot sell the American people on wars of conquest for the profits of the money-junkies, and none of these nations would do anything the US could use as a provocation.

therefore, I think that ISIS is a manufactured enemy, basically 100 people and some special effects to commit terror attacks on video to create the new monster "brand." Then the US Government simply accuses every intended invasion target of being that monster, to justify more wars of conquest. It's actually moderately clever.

But not clever enough.

Mainstream media wages vile campaign of hate speech against unvaccinated children

Should parents who choose not to vaccinate their children be jailed and have their children taken away? Yes, according to a surprising number of vaccine activists who believe that the state's power supersedes that of parents on this and other public health issues.

Writing in USA Today recently, Alex Berezow, a member of the paper's Board of Contributors, couched his statements in the context of the current measles outbreak in California, which he says was "entirely preventable" and which continues to spread:

As the disease spreads, experts will debate how we respond and what to do about the anti-vaccine movement that's partly to blame for this mess. Likely, all we'll agree on is better outreach to parents.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We would not have a measles outbreak if that southern border had been kept closed!

16-Year-Old Launches Organization to Battle Warrantless Surveillance

Brandon Keibler is just your ordinary 16-year-old from Southern Indiana. At least that's what some people might think. However, having become an activist at fourteen and helping to establish the Restore the Fourth organization, this young man has just launched an organization to encourage grassroots efforts aimed at a tyrannical government that wishes to disregard the fact that they are bound by law to gain a warrant before they search or seize anything of any American citizen. This also includes warrantless surveillance of individuals.

After Massive Backlash, NYPD Scraps Plan to Use Machine Guns at Protests

Alice Walker said that “the most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.”

With this concept at work (in reverse), citizens of New York and the United States successfully intimidated the NYPD from implementing a terrifying policy. Last Friday, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton announced that a new unit, the “Strategic Response Group,” would be permanently policing protests and dealing with terrorist threats.

Facebook Shut Me Down

The important thing is that Israel is on the defensive. Israel is trying to change the subject and is failing miserably. The Israeli military is weak. It is no more than a brutal, over-armed, over-financed and overly confident terror organization. The legitimacy of the IDF is being put to question by everyone except for the greedy dealers who provide it with weapons. Israeli politicians and army commanders, when from time to time they lift their heads out of the sand, see a grim sight and they are worried.

US Measles Hoax: CDC, WHO, Merck Documents Prove VACCINATED Are Spreading Virus

In early 2015, Big Pharma has declared war on vaccine dissent. In case you haven’t noticed over the last two weeks, US media outlets are running a highly coordinated and sensationalized propaganda campaign to hype-up a “national measles outbreak”, while demonizing any American parents that dare to question the efficacy and safety of any mass-produced vaccine products.

The US media’s ‘mandatory vaccination’ promotional campaign was successfully launched nationwide following an “outbreak” incident at Walt Disneyland theme park brand on January 7th. See Disney’s timeline of events here.

Disneyland is a popular and recognizable children’s brand, and this was crucial in propelling successful headlines that boldly declared, “Disneyland Measles Outbreak”. Event the President endorsed the campaign stating, “There is every reason to get vaccinated — there aren’t reasons to not,” Barack Obama told Today on Monday.

World Heading For Financial Crisis Worse Than In 2008

I have been suggesting for quite some time that what we saw in 2008 was just the appetizer ahead of the main course. Globally, including and especially in the U.S., the level of debt and derivatives stashed way on big bank, hedge fund and financial firm (insurance companies, mutual funds, public pension funds) balance sheets is staggering. Multiples of what it was in 2008.

Fuses have been lit all over the globe, including crashing currencies, collapsing industries (think: oil shale/fracking) and de facto defaulting sovereign debt. Even the U.S. Government has de facto defaulted on its debt because the only way it makes payments are via money printing and forced rollover by existing holders.

CIA Mission: Destroy the Whistleblower and Perfume the Stench of ‘Operation Merlin’

In the courtroom, where journalist Risen was beyond the reach of the law, the CIA’s long-smoldering rage vented at the defendant. Sterling had gone through channels in 2003 to warn Senate Intelligence Committee staffers about Operation Merlin, and he was later indicted for allegedly giving Risen classified information about it. For CIA officials, the prosecution wasn’t only to punish Sterling and frighten potential whistleblowers; it was also about payback, rewriting history and assisting with a PR comeback for the operation as well as the agency.

The Parasite Economy

Politicians and lawyers pretend that they are important people doing important work. But often they're important because they are parasites. They feed off others, while creating no wealth of their own.

We all complain about businesses we don't like, but because business is voluntary, every merchant must offer us something we want in order to get our money. But that's not true for politicians and their businessman cronies. They get to use government force to grab our money.

How Uncle Sam Became a Bank Robber

During her confirmation hearings last week, Loretta Lynch, President Obama's choice to succeed Eric Holder as attorney general, called civil forfeiture, a form of legalized theft in which the government takes people's property without accusing them of a crime, "a wonderful tool." Lynch, currently the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, suggested that innocent owners need not worry about getting hammered by this tool, because forfeiture "is done pursuant to supervision by a court," and "the protections are there."

In light of a forfeiture case that Lynch's office had abruptly dropped the previous week, her assurances rang hollow. The case, involving $447,000 that the government stole from a Long Island business and sat on for nearly three years, illustrates the injustice inflicted by seizures in which a "crime" that harms no one becomes an excuse for bank heists that enrich the agencies perpetrating them.

EFF's "Yellow Dots of Mystery" on Instructables

Printer dot surveillance is a disturbing end run around individuals' right to anonymous speech. Anonymity is a vital freedom -- it can help political or religious speakers, labor organizers, or whistleblowers avoid retribution for their beliefs and opinions. Around the world, anonymity is an important practical protection for dissidents and religious groups against persecution by repressive governments.

Furthermore, it's deeply troubling that printer manufacturers implemented this surveillance mechanism under the table after secret meetings between government representatives and technology manufacturers. Printer companies don't disclose the tracking to their customers and so the existence of these yellow tracking dots remains secret.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just use this image of randomly placed yellow dots as the background for any messages you make on your computer that need to be anonymous.

This Man Faces Life in Prison for ... Rapping

I've heard free speech isn't free, and Brandon Duncan, who raps as Tiny Doo, has learned that the hard way.

Until recently, Mr. Duncan spent eight months in jail on "gang conspiracy" charges arising from several shootings in San Diego from May 2013 to February 2014. Prosecutors admit he wasn't at the scene of the crimes, and they have no evidence linking him to the shootings. Mr. Duncan, who has no criminal record, also says he had no knowledge of the crimes. But the district attorney charged him all the same because he raps about shootings.

That's not only absurd; it's a blatant violation of the First Amendment.

Mr. Duncan, after all, is an artist, whose music reflects what he's seen. "I'm just painting a picture of urban street life," he recently told CNN's Don Lemon. "The studio's my canvas .... I'm not telling anyone to go out and kill somebody or go do something. I'm not doing anything differently than [Grammy-winning rapper] The Game."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, the San Diego District Attorney, eager for another "scalp" of conviction on his belt, has decided that he is going to convict this man through what appears to be "Code Napoleon" law, where the accused is considered guilty until proven innocent.

I would like to politely suggest to this guy that this is America, in the 21st century, and that the concept here, just in case he did not get the memo in law school (perhaps he should his alma mater over this) is that in this country, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty.

I sincerely doubt that rational people would convict a person about singing about what he knows, and for this gentleman, that is death, no real protection from police abuse, and that power comes from physical, brutal control of one's turf.

Unfortunately, this is not only Mr. Duncan's reality: it is also the reality for far too many minority kids in this country.

But the answer is not convicting people for writing about what they know, but changing that reality. That is going to take a lot of hard work, but will ultimately be worth it to American society as a whole.

Please remember: the US has the highest incarceration rate in the world.

Kieser then became confrontational. Vanderklok says he calmly asked to file a complaint. He then waited while someone was supposedly retrieving the proper form.

Instead, Kieser summoned the Philadelphia Police. Vanderklok was taken to an airport holding cell, and his personal belongings - including his phone - were confiscated while police "investigated" him.

Vanderklok was detained for three hours in the holding cell, missing his plane. Then he was handcuffed, taken to the 18th District at 55th and Pine and placed in another cell.

FBI's 'We're From The Cable Company' Ruse Not Convincing To Magistrate Judge

The FBI's decision to impersonate repair technicians in order to perform a warrantless search is backfiring. Last July, FBI agents investigating an illegal gambling operation worked with Caesars Palace Casino to cut the internet connection to three villas it believed were the operation's ad hoc headquarters. It then sent agents disguised as repairmen to "fix" the problem. Once inside, these agents took photos, recorded video and otherwise observed what they believed to be an illegal bookmaking operation.

Shortly after this warrantless search, the FBI decided it was time to get a search warrant. In its warrant request, it conveniently left out the part where it cut the DSL connection and sent in agents dressed as repairmen. Because of this "fatally flawed" application, a Nevada magistrate judge is recommending the federal district court toss the warrant and suppress the evidence.

Why the FDA Should be Charged with Murder

If you worked for a federal agency that was killing people at the rate of 100,000 a year, every year, like clockwork, and if you knew it, wouldn’t you feel compelled to say or do something about it?

At the FDA, which is, in fact, killing Americans at that rate, no one has ever felt the need to step forward and speak up.

Let’s shift the venue and ask the same question. If you were a medical reporter for a major media outlet in the US, and you knew the above fact, wouldn’t you make it a priority to say something, write something, do something?

South Korea’s Police State Wages War on Proponents of Democracy

The South Korean police state has cracked down, with varying degrees of intensity over the years, on virtually any public expression of leftism, including anti-capitalism, anti-colonialism, and anti-imperialism. Some degree of intolerance of leftist dissent is emblematic of all states in capitalist societies. Even in liberal democratic societies, which are believed to tolerate dissent to a higher degree than other societies, the security services have had a long history of surveillance “on the side of the political/economic status quo” and against those “who challenge the powerful and the wealthy.” The history of the political police in such societies is one of “conservatism” where “the targets of state surveillance form a kind of roster of (working class) radicalism” and where those who pursue the class war from the bottom up have been seen as subverting “the proper political and economic order” and therefore are deemed legitimate subjects for surveillance and disruption.

NYPD Commissioner: Because Terrorism And Protests Are Roughly The Same Thing, A New Special Unit Will Handle Both

The NYPD has created yet another special unit to handle the myriad problems that arise from being terrorists' occasional target. The SRG (Strategic Response Group) will be tasked with handling certain situations, most of which did not occur in New York City.

So… it's designed for dealing with protests -- the most recent of which were kicked off by the clearing of a cop who choked an unarmed man to death. The other two incidents have nothing to do with New York other than the fact that the NYPD sent its own officers overseas at the request of nobody.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Commissioner Bratton: how DARE you possibly conflate peaceful protest with terrorism?!?

It is quite obvious to me that it has been a very, very, long time since you read the Constitution and Bill of Rights, this government's original Contract with America. It is very possibly high time you reviewed at these documents.

To all who plan professional symposiums and conferences, please eschew New York as though it were kryptonite. And to all thinking travel brokers, please do the same.

Two Leaks Reveal How TAFTA/TTIP's Regulatory Co-operation Body Will Undermine Sovereignty And Democracy

But it's hard to see how those non-tariff barriers can be harmonized without a race to the bottom in terms of regulations, since no one is calling for a race to the top. Even "mutual recognition," which would allow both standards to be used, would inevitably see the lower standard becoming the norm because it would be cheaper to implement, and thus offer competitive advantages.

The 6 Grand Illusions That Keep Us Enslaved to the Matrix

We live in a world of illusion. So many of the concerns that occupy the mind and the tasks that fill the calendar arise from planted impulses to become someone or something that we are not. This is no accident. As we are indoctrinated into this authoritarian-corporate-consumer culture that now dominates the human race, we are trained that certain aspects of our society are untouchable truths, and that particular ways of being and behaving are preferred.

Psychopaths disempower people in this way. They blind us with never ceasing barrages of suggestions and absolutes that are aimed at shattering self-confidence and confidence in the future.

Obama Tax Plan: President Goes All In on Confiscation

His tenure has already witnessed a greater accumulation of federal debt than any other time in US history. It is unsustainable based on the nation’s taxing traditions. In recent days, however, Obama has hinted at a new paradigm in federal revenue collection: confiscation.

Last week, the White House floated a proposal to levy a one-time tax on the $2 trillion in foreign earnings American corporations have overseas. The United States imposes the highest corporate income tax rate in the world. It also, unlike every major nation, taxes profits on business activities conducted completely outside the US. In essence, the US tax code follows American citizens and corporations anywhere they travel around the world.

In the following analysis from the always informative and entertaining James Quinn of The Burning Platform you’ll get an understanding of what’s really going on under the hood. What you’ll notice is that, while the media has picked and chosen specific talking points to create a perception of economic health, they have purposefully failed to provide a complete picture to the American people. Frankly, the information being spewed by official sources simply doesn’t mesh with the actual data.

Beyond Snowden: US General Cartwright has been indicted for espionage

US General James Cartwright was regarded by Washington insiders as ‘Obama’s General’, and now he’s facing prosecution for blowing the whistle on ‘Operation Olympic Games’ which planted the Stuxnet and Flame viruses in Iranian nuclear facilities in order derail Iran’s civilian nuclear program. At closer examination, it appears that Cartwright’s revelations didn’t so much harm US interests per say, but they hindered Israeli ambitions towards a war with Iran.

But why espionage? What is the line between “whistleblowing” and “espionage” in America today?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Can you imagine the fear?

Maybe you don't have to. Maybe you are old enough to remember Three Mile Island, or Chernobyl. Maybe you're one of the people living around the Pacific where the radiation meters have been singing their songs of death since Fukushima.

Can you feel the horror? There is an invisible killer dancing in the air. Maybe hiding in that rain drop. You cannot know for sure.

That metallic taste in your mouth; is it being that scared? Or is it something ... worse?

You cannot know for sure. There is an invisible killer dancing in the air.

You wish you could stop breathing, but of course you can't. And with each breath comes an unspoken question; Is this the breath during which I inhale my own end? Is there an irrevocable link between this breath and my final breath to come? Is this the breath that deforms my unborn child? Is this the breath that transforms my future from an old age filled with family and friends, to loneliness, lingering pain, and a horrible death?

You cannot know for sure. There is an invisible killer dancing in the air.

Or maybe it was on that stamp you licked, or in the wine you drank, or the cookie you ate.

Maybe you showered with the killer, slept with the killer, shared your clothes with the killer.

You cannot know for sure. There is an invisible killer dancing in the air.

Now imagine living with that fear, day after day after day; fear for yourself, fear for the lives and health of your loved ones. Imagine the long sleepless nights wondering if the next day will invite the killer into your home; if the rain will wash the killer onto the food you will eat.

Imagine.

Then imagine a monster so evil they would inflict that endless fear onto innocent and unoffending people.

Then stop imagining, because it really happened, but just once but twice.

What happened by accident at Three-Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima was done intentionally by Israel to the people of Iraq, when Israel bombed the nuclear power plant at Osirik in the erroneous assumption that Iraq was building nuclear weapons. Then Israel did it again in Syria. Thankfully, there were no nuclear weapons at the Iraq or Syrian targets, or the people of Iraq and Syria would have suffered what those people living downwind from Three-Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima (and indeed the whole northern hemisphere) all suffered.

But no doubt, those innocent and unoffending Iraqi and Syrian people knew the fear of wondering whether the silent killer was there in their homes moment to moment, just as you are wondering whether the silent killer is in your home this very moment, even as you read these words.

Israel did that to those people; cursed them with that endless dread that lingered for months on end.

And now Israel wants to bomb more nuclear facilities in Iran or infect it with a computer virus to cause a melt-down, so that what happened by accident at Three-Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima, will be done deliberately to the people of Iran, who have not invaded or threatened anyone.

There are indeed monsters living among us.

And we know them by their deeds.

Just think about that when you are lying in the dark, afraid to breathe.

Here's Some Frightening Honesty (Courtesy Of The US Congress)

A member of my staff caught an obscure resolution that was introduced in the US House of Representatives last week—Resolution no. 41.

The fact that there was essentially no coverage of this Resolution really shows how the mainstream media is completely turning a blind eye to the true fiscal situation of the United States of America.

The entire point of the resolution is to say that the federal government is broke.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Resolution 41 admits the federal Government is basically broke, and recommends that the federal Government which allowed (even encouraged) the 2008 mortgage-backed securities fraud that emptied state and privater pension funds not be responsible for bailing them out, and that these defunded pension funds "restructure" to reduce costs (meaning cheat the people dependent on those pensions).

Blowback: Charlie Hebdo and the Contradictions of Western Policy

The Western defense of freedom of expression in the face of attacks by Islamic fundamentalists has not always been so unequivocal, however. Indeed, from the start of the Mohammed cartoon controversy, the support of some Western governments – including the French – for Jyllands Posten, Charlie Hebdo and other “offenders” has been tepid at best. For instance, far from defending the rights of Charlie Hebdo upon the paper’s publication of the cartoons in 2006, then French President Jacques Chirac promptly denounced what he termed as “obvious provocations” and warned that “anything that could offend other people’s convictions, in particular religious convictions, should be avoided.”

In this debate between classical Western freedoms and notions of Islamic piety, one of the few French leaders to clearly come down on the side of the former was then Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy. “All told, I prefer too much caricature to too much censorship,” Sarkozy dryly remarked.

Professor Sues University of Illinois Over Firing for “Uncivil” Gaza Tweets

A professor who was fired from a tenured position at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign because of his tweets criticizing the Israeli government’s bombing of Gaza last year has filed a civil rights suit against the University and its top officials, saying that his firing violated his First Amendment right to free speech and other constitutional rights, and basic principles of academic freedom.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In an honest court system this guy would win, because the tweets in question were part of his private life, not his conduct while on campus. Israel's supporters pressured the university into firing him to try to scare other academics into obedient silence regarding Israel in their own private lives. If Steven Salaita wins his case and there is a huge settlement, the floodgates will open and Israel will find itself facing the reality of a nation where freedom of speech is reaffirmed.

Mum-of-six with learning disabilities faces being restrained and 'forcibly sterilised'

A mum-of-six could be sterilised after social services and medics have forced their way into her home and restrained her.

The mum, who is in her 30s, has had her six children taken into care and the authorities want to prevent her from getting pregnant again with her partner, as they say it could put her life at risk.

Health authority and social services bosses have asked a judge to authorise forced entry into her home, "necessary restraint" and sterilisation, because she lacks the mental capacity to make decisions about treatment.

White House Seeks to Limit Health Law’s Tax Troubles

Obama administration officials and other supporters of the Affordable Care Act say they worry that the tax-filing season will generate new anger as uninsured consumers learn that they must pay tax penalties and as many people struggle with complex forms needed to justify tax credits they received in 2014 to pay for health insurance.

The White House has already granted some exemptions and is considering more to avoid a political firestorm.

The 21 curious questions we're never allowed to ask about vaccines

The surest sign of a medical dictatorship is an aggressively enforced blockade against intelligent questions. Intelligent questions, after all, can destroy a medical police state because they expose the fraud of it.

Intelligent questions -- which the vaccine industry characterizes as "dangerous" -- are the greatest threat to the vaccine delusions still being played out across the world today, which is precisely why such questions are not allowed to be asked. Those daring to ask such questions are now being threatened with mass arrest and imprisonment -- that's how vulnerable the fraudulent vaccine industry has now become. It can be brought down by mere words if only those words are allowed to be circulated.

Four Corners of Fascism

In one corner we have the criminal banksters who, in concert with the criminal ruling class, have created policies that allow them to steal as much of our wealth as can be done until enough people cry foul. In another corner we have the criminal, treasonous NSA, once again working in concert with the criminal ruling class to steal all of our personal information and create a profile of our lives to determine if we are guilty of some crime that has not yet been committed. In still another corner we have the local police, working in concert, not only with the ruling class but with the military industrial complex in order to ensure we tow the line and don’t fight back once enough of us have determined that we have had our fill. In the last corner are the doctors and insurance companies who, work in concert with the ruling class to keep us hooked on their drugs or sedated so that we are unable to rally against these other three.

Seems like a pattern going on there, or is it just me?

They went largely unnoticed, four words President Obama ad-libbed during the State of the Union address last month as he asked lawmakers to provide legal cover for America’s military intervention in Iraq and Syria.

Russian aggression and the BBC’s drums of nuclear war

The drums of war are beating on the BBC and other mass media, writes Oliver Tickell – naked propaganda about fictitious ‘Russian aggression’ intended to soften us up for a war that could wipe out life on Earth.
We must refuse to fall for the endlessly repeated lies, and tell our politicians that our highest priority of all is peace.

Webmaster's Commentary:

My reply to BBC and indeed all corporate media. Feel free to use as a template for your own emails.

Corporate media assured us that the USS Main was sunk by a Spanish mine in Havana Harbor, even though Captain Sigsbee reported the cause as an on-board fire. This story of a Spanish mine by the corporate media allowed President McKinley to trick the American people into the Spanish American war. An investigation carried out by Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, the father of America's Nuclear Navy, confirmed Sigbee's report. There had been no Spanish mine.

Corporate media assured us that the Lusitania was not carrying weapons when it was sunk by a German U-Boat, even though the German government had taken out ads in the New York papers warning passengers not to sail on that ship. This story of the sinking of an innocent passenger ship allowed President Woodrow Wilson to trick the American people into World War 1 and divert the war from the original belligerents, Austria-Hungary and Serbia, into a war against Germany. In the 1980s, divers entered the hold of the Lusitania and confirmed it had been smuggling weapons of war to Britain.

Corporate media assured us that North Vietnam launched a torpedo attack against the USS Maddox in the Gulf of Tonkin in August 4th, 1964. Even though Captain Herrick reported that the sonar detection of torpedoes by the Maddox had been an error by an inexperienced sonar operator, the claim of a torpedo attack allowed President Johnson to trick Congress into escalating the Vietnam war.

Corporate media assured is Saddam Hussein had nuclear weapons. Need I say more?

So why would anyone believe the corporate media today when they assure us Russia has invaded Ukraine?

Expect a full airing of the truth, said TRC Chair

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission is promising a scathing – and sweeping - report on the federal government and Canadian society.

“Our work of truth telling and truth collecting was not easy. We had challenges throughout,” said TRC Chair Justice Murray Sinclair, at the Special Chiefs Assembly in December in Winnipeg. He said he expected this to be the last time he addressed the Assembly of First Nations since the TRC’s mandate ends July 1, 2015.

Sinclair singled out the federal government’s reticence in handing over documents that dealt with Indian residential schools as one of the TRC’s “significant challenges.” The result was three separate occasions in court, all of which ended with the TRC winning. Sinclair said four million documents, from a variety of sources, have been collected to date, and he expected that number to double.

When Cops Break Bad: Inside a Police Force Gone Wild

Finally, after three hours, Boyd prepared to come down from the hills. "Don't worry about safety," he told the police. "I'm not a fucking murderer." But as Boyd packed his stuff, both hands full of possessions, Detective Keith Sandy — who hours before, on arriving at the scene, boasted on tape that he was going to shoot "this fucking lunatic" with a Taser shotgun — tossed a flash-bang grenade, a nonlethal weapon designed to disorient and distract. Another officer fired a Taser at Boyd, and a third released a police dog on him. Boyd drew his knives again. Advancing on him, officers ordered Boyd to get down on the ground. Boyd began to turn away, and Detective Sandy of the ROP squad and Officer Dominique Perez of the SWAT team each fired three live rounds at him, hitting him once in the back and twice in his arms. Boyd collapsed, face down, crying out that he was unable to move. "Please don't hurt me," he said.

Hillary Clinton’s ‘WMD’ moment: U.S. intelligence saw false narrative in Libya

The intelligence community gathered no specific evidence of an impending genocide in Libya in spring 2011, undercutting Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s primary argument for using the U.S. military to remove Col. Moammar Gadhafi from power, an event that has left his country in chaos, according to officials with direct knowledge of the dispute.

Police Push For Anti-Cop Comments To Be Legally Considered ‘Hate Speech’

The National Fraternal Order of Police is pushing for legislation to classify anti-police comments as “hate speech.” The 300,000 strong FOP says that police officers should fall under the Congressional hate crimes statute, and should thus be regarded as a protected minority.

This bold move comes on the heels of two New York City police officers, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, who were killed in the line of duty.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a very slippery slope, folks.

And please remember: the Constitution and Bill of Rights is the government's "Contract With America".

What happens to a society when the expression of truth and logic becomes criminalized?!?

What happens to a society when allegations of police brutality are not allowed to be proven true because the truth on that brutality, logically documented, has become "hate speech" or "hate information"?!?

I never would want to see a good police officer hurt in any way; and a good police officer is someone who understands, and really gets, what the phrase "to protect and serve" really means.

But having said that, I would strongly suggest that Mr. Canterbury, the head of the police union, think very seriously about how police are being trained to use excessive force in 21st century America.

There is the continuing nightmare for the people of Albuquerque , New Mexico, concerning the impunity with which their police officers kill and maim, particularly the homeless and mentally ill. This very much has to do with their training, and leadership. As reported in Alternet.org in December of last year:

From across town, an off-duty cop named Sean Wallace heard the alert blare through his scanner, then barreled over to the scene before a crisis intervention officer could arrive. Without provocation, Wallace opened fire, killing Alan Gomez with a high-powered rifle as he entered the house through a screen door. The troubled young man was holding nothing in his hand but a plastic spoon. With his death, Alan Gomez joined the list of at least 27 people killed by Albuquerque police officers since 2010, and the more than 40 wounded by gunfire. In a city of just over 540,000, the body count is staggering. Indeed, the rate of officer-involved shootings by Albuquerque police is eight times that of the NYPD and two times higher than in Chicago, a megalopolis with one of the steepest levels of violent crime in the country. A damning report released this April by the Department of Justice concluded that the “Albuquerque police department engages in a pattern or practice of unconstitutional use of deadly force.” It went on to accuse members of the department of having “shot and killed civilians who did not pose an imminent threat of serious bodily harm or death to the officers or others.” The report singled out Wallace for killing Gomez when "no one's life was in danger and an APD negotiator was on his way to the scene.''

I would suggest, very soberly, to Mr. Canterbury, that these incidents, and incidents like them around the country are no accident; they are a deliberate result of the training these officers have received.

Couple this with the reality that many American peace officers have been, and are being trained my members, or former members, of the IDF, and you have a recipe for multiple human rights and civil rights disasters.

VIDEO: Birds of a Feather: John McCain Defends Henry Kissinger

Yet, while McCain’s support of the Vietnam war, Iraq War, Syrian War, Libyan war, and virtually every war that was ever waged and those that ever will be waged upon the face of the earth, has resulted in the death of millions of people, McCain found himself in the presence of one of the true kings of killing in Henry Kissinger.

Police Union: You Can Have Safe Neighborhoods Or Be Free Of Flashbang-Burned Toddlers, But Not Both

A Georgia state senator has announced a bill to limit the use of no-knock warrants. These warrants have gone from the exception to the rule over the past several years, as our nation's drug warriors apparently labor under the assumption that drug dealers keep banker's hours.

Of course, no-knock raids have resulted in plenty of collateral damage -- both to cops and civilians -- as the element of surprise tends to be bullet-and-flashbang heavy. It's the use of flashbang grenades that has prompted this new legislation, which unfortunately puts it into the category of "Laws Named After Victims," most of which are written badly and hastily.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The "war on drugs" is turning out no differently than have any other "war on....fill in the blank" which are supposed to make things better in this country, and absolutely do not.

The alleged "war on drugs" is an absolute, sick joke, engineered to fill jails with prison slave labor and make bankers more filthy rich by laundering the drug money, period, end of discussion.

IF the Federal and state agencies wanted to really get rid of drugs, they would have the "male attributes" to decriminalize all drugs, to take the profit motive out of the drug trade, and cause it to collapse of its own weight. These Federal and State agencies would then encourage people on drugs to get counseling.

OF course, all this... would be logical; and logic is no longer an attribute any sane American can expect from any governmental entity, Federal or state.

New NYPD Anti-Terror Unit Will Get Machine Guns To Police Protesters

Murders reached a historic low in NYC for 2014; overall crime was down across the board by nearly 5%; hell, even the holiday slowdown didn't really lead to any additional crime. So clearly, now is the time when NYC really needs to implement a new anti-terrorism program which would empower a team of NYPD officers to roam around the city carrying machine guns. What could go wrong?

Police Commissioner Bratton made the announcement earlier today at an event hosted by the Police Foundation at the Mandarin Oriental. He said that the new 350 cop unit, called The Strategic Response Group, will be dedicated to "disorder control and counterterrorism protection capabilities" against attacks like the hostage situation in Sydney, which the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence John Miller said was an inevitability in NYC.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A more militarized police, armed with machine guns, means more abuses, and more maiming and killing of innocent people.

And what if the protests are completely peaceful; will police open fire, just to prove they can, when people try to express their first amendment rights, with utterly no violence whatsoever?!?

IS this what other big city police commissioners are going to allow to happen in their cities, with impunity?!?

People with skills and kids, please get the hell out of this country while you still can; staying here may well be hazardous to the health of your entire family.

FLASHBACK - NSA’s ANT Division Catalog of Exploits for Nearly Every Major Software/Hardware/Firmware

After years of speculation that electronics can be accessed by intelligence agencies through a back door, an internal NSA catalog reveals that such methods already exist for numerous end-user devices.

When it comes to modern firewalls for corporate computer networks, the world’s second largest network equipment manufacturer doesn’t skimp on praising its own work. According to Juniper Networks’ online PR copy, the company’s products are “ideal” for protecting large companies and computing centers from unwanted access from outside. They claim the performance of the company’s special computers is “unmatched” and their firewalls are the “best-in-class.” Despite these assurances, though, there is one attacker none of these products can fend off — the United States’ National Security Agency.

The FDA Is Pissing Off Native American Farmers

The United States of America is home to 566 federally recognized Native American tribes. And with its new, hugely impactful set of agricultural rules, the FDA is ignoring each and every one of them.

That’s the sentiment, at least, put forward by a variety of tribal leaders, including Shannon McDaniel, the Choctaw nation’s executive director for tribal operations. Last week, McDaniel addressed a letter to FDA officials in which he accused the agency of failing to consult with tribal leaders—a legal requirement—before issuing an updated draft of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). The multifaceted group of laws aims to increase the traceability of food-borne illnesses by regulating how all domestic meat and produce are raised, harvested, and processed. But enforcement of these laws will be costly, and with many Native Americans employed by the agriculture industry, tribal populations might suffer from them disproportionately.

Detroit cop filmed on reality show moments before he shot dead a 7-year-old girl in her sleep has all charges dropped after two trials without convictions

Authorities said they will drop the last remaining charge against a Detroit police officer who shot and killed a 7-year-old girl during a during a nighttime raid after two trials ended without convictions.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy will move Friday to dismiss the misdemeanor charge against Joseph Weekley, who shot and killed Aiyana Stanley-Jones while she slept in 2010.

Police were accompanied by a camera crew for the show 'The First 48' on A&E when Weekley burst into the home and fired one shot from his submachine gun that struck Aiyana in the head.

Joseph Weekley, Cop Who Fatally Shot Sleeping 7-Year-Old, Will No Longer Face Charges

The Detroit police officer who fatally shot a sleeping 7-year-old girl will not be retried, officials said Wednesday.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a statement that her office was moving to dismiss the case against Officer Joseph Weekley. He was originally charged with involuntary manslaughter and careless discharge of a firearm causing death, a misdemeanor, after Aiyana Stanley-Jones was killed in 2010 during a botched police raid at her home.

Weekley's first trial in 2013 ended in a mistrial. In a second trial last year, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Cynthia Gray Hathaway dismissed the manslaughter charge after a motion by the defense. The jury again deadlocked while deliberating whether to convict Weekley of the lesser charge, causing a second mistrial.

WATCH: Seattle cop pepper-sprays teacher directly in face for walking too close

Jesse Hagopian, who spoke at the event about how black lives matter, was making arrangements by cell phone with his mother to attend his son’s second birthday party when he passed a Seattle police officer screaming at passersby.

Video of the Jan. 19 incident shows the officer and some others standing at a police barricade as she orders a small, peaceful crowd – most of whom were walking past the police – to disperse.

Hagopian said officers set up a barricade with their bicycles to prevent protesters from marching, and he said some participants walked through the line – but he did not.

“Stand back, stand back,” the officer screams as she holds a canister of pepper spray.

Suddenly, as Hagopian walks past talking on his cell phone, the officer blasts pepper spray – which the video shows hits him and an unidentified woman directly in the face.

Big Business “Regulators” and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP): Opening the Floodgates to Corporate Plunder

A new leak concerning the talks around the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) indicates that the floodgates could be opened even further for corporate influence. The leak has been analysed by the corporate watchdogs CEO and LobbyControl and shows that corporate influence on EU and US policies might dramatically increase via the chapter on so-called ‘regulatory cooperation’.

The leak of the EU draft negotiating proposal dated January 23rd makes unmistakably clear that the EU is seeking a very ambitious chapter that strengthens the role of business in future regulatory legislation possibly via a new institution, the Regulatory Cooperation Body (RCB). Its role would be to coordinate the process of regulatory coherence between the US and the EU and would effectively limit policy space and sideline the public and civil organisations.

Hollywood uses ‘American Sniper’ to destroy history & create myth

The moral depravity into which the US is sinking is shown by American Sniper glorifying the exploits of a racist killer receiving six Oscar nominations, whereas ‘Selma’ depicting Martin Luther King’s struggle against racism has been largely ignored.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We saw the same thing back in 2010 when the pro-war movie "Hurt Locker" won six Oscars while the anti-corporate-war "Avatar" was ignored.

Of course, being in the industry, I learned that the Oscars are driven by politics and money when Stargate was removed from the nominations by the Academy's "Blue Ribbon Committee" to clear the way for "Speed" to win the Oscar for visual effects.

Torture If You Must, But Do Not Under Any Circumstances Call the New York Times

The Sterling case – especially in light of Obama’s complicity in the cover-up of torture during the Bush administration – sends a clear message to people in government service: You won’t get in trouble as long as you do what you’re told (even torture people). But if you talk to a reporter and tell him something we want kept secret, we will spare no effort to destroy you.

President of Soros Founded Economic Institute Says Global Elite In Panic Mode

It wasn't that long ago that Wall Street legend Barton Briggs told super rich to buy farms away from megacities and stock up on food and guns. Many plans have been put forward such as floating cities and armed luxury vessels that will be deployed international waters to keep the 'brigands at bay'. The average working family have surely noticed the price of food and other goods rising but the neo-aristocracy have technocrats and economic forecasters at their disposal and they know the ledge. I wonder how many degenerate French nobility escaped the guillotine? Destabilizing paranoia is rife among the rich but the Soros-backed INET must have some interesting revelations that they won't share with the rest of us.

USA Today columnist calls for arrest and imprisonment of vaccine skeptics

Now we finally come to the real agenda of the vaccine industry. After vaccines have been repeatedly documented by the Natural News Lab to contain neurotoxic chemicals such as mercury, formaldehyde and MSG; after vaccine shots have been repeatedly shown to kill people who take them; and after flu shots have been exhaustively shown to be based on no science whatsoever -- with vaccine manufacturers openly admitting there are no clinical trials to show they even work -- the rabid vaccine pushers are unveiling their end game: throw vaccine resistors in prison.

The saddest thing in the world is not poverty; it's loss of dignity

In a much-awaited report released at the end of last year, UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon set out his vision for after the millennium development goals expire this year. At its heart, and in its title, is the word “dignity”.

It is not uncommon for “dignity” to be rolled out in the opening salvo of UN documents, but it is a concept seldom contemplated in depth. In this report, it is used as a title to gather the goals aimed at tackling poverty and inequality under one more manageable theme – those at the bottom of the economic ladder lack dignity, and it is the job of the rest of the world to help give it to them.

But that is actually a very limited interpretation of a word that, if understood properly, could mean fundamental changes to our ways of working, and the overall story we are trying to tell. The thing about dignity, and the reason it is a transformational concept, is that it knows no social, economic, gender or ethnic barriers.

New bill proposes a ban on body armor

A new bill has been introduced to the House which could make civilian ownership of body armor illegal.

The bill, called the Responsible Body Armor Possession Act, would strip the right of civilians to purchase or own body armor. The bill reads, “It shall be unlawful for a person to purchase, own or possess enhanced body armor.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The United States Supreme Court ruled in United States vs Miller that the Second Amendment reserves to the American people the same arms as used by the military. That has to include defensive arms, i.e. body armor.

This law supposedly targets Type III body armor, but there is no clear definition of what that really means, and most body armor is not labeled as to type. Enforcement of the law becomes dependent on the mood of the arresting officer. Also, for those who already own body armor (I have some with "PRESS" on it) there should be a grandfather clause, but this bill does not include that, making such a ban an ex post facto law, which is prohibited by the Constitution.

FLASHBACK 2008 - Bush Signs Bill To Take All Newborns' DNA

President Bush last week signed into law a bill which will see the federal government begin to screen the DNA of all newborn babies in the U.S. within six months, a move critics have described as the first step towards the establishment of a national DNA database.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Even with all the computers the government can buy with your money, the reality is that they do not save all three billion pieces of your DNA. DNA taken from a person is distilled down to a much simpler form, using 13 "standard" STR loci selected by the FBI for CODIS, which is the National DNA database. This severe reduction leads to individuals having matching DNA profiles in the database! For a full and complete profile, each American is estimated to match 20 other Americans. For partial, or incomplete profiles, which are the norm for degraded DNA collected at a crime scene, the number of innocent matches jumps into the 100s! And if the crime scene DNA is actually a mixture of multiple individuals, the probability of a false conviction becomes large enough to be of concern.

But the propaganda is that DNA is infallible, and while that may be true for proving that a suspect was not at the scene of a crime, it is far from true for DNA results indicating guilt. This is over and above the well-documented history of the FBI crime lab falsifying their lab results.

Democrats who wrote Obamacare tell Supreme Court to reject lawsuit

The congressional Democrats involved in writing the Affordable Care Act told the Supreme Court on Wednesday that they intended for consumers in all states to be eligible for subsidies, and they argue that the law they drafted reflects that intention.

Opponents have challenged the Obama administration’s enforcement of the law, arguing that it only allows subsidies to be paid in states that set up their own exchanges, but not to customers in most of the country who use the federal exchange.

TSA Plans to Remove Social Media Screening From Airport Security Proposal

The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced that it was going to remove social media and purchase history screening from an updated amendment to the proposal concerning the security control at airports.

MOSCOW, January 27 (Sputnik), Anastasia Levchenko — The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) told Sputnik on Tuesday that it plans to remove social media and purchase history screening from its proposal concerning the security control at airports.

"The line on social media and purchase history was inadvertently included in this request for proposal (RFP), and will be removed in an updated amendment to the solicitation. All proposals will be evaluated for privacy and civil liberties risks," a TSA press officer said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It will be interesting to see if the final wording includes - or does not include - this language about social media posts, and purchasing activity.

I have made no bones about what I think of the TSA (tourist suppression agency) here on this blog.

And for all the crotch groping and downright thievery from passengers, to date, this group of individuals has not caught one single baddie, determined to do us harm.

The agency exists NOT to protect Americans, but to badger the American people into unthinking acceptance of governmental authority.

And note just how quickly the American character has morphed from "the land of the free...and the home of the brave" to "the land of the cowed...and the home of the surveilled."

The spreading alchemy of central bank money-printing

Two years ago, I sat in the hushed fortress of the Bank of England, listening to one of its secretive boffins, a languid fellow named Paul Fisher, explain the creation and meaning of money.

He reached into his wallet and fished out a 10-pound note.

This note is worth 10 pounds, he said, because you and I and all the people walking around on the streets out there believe it's worth 10 pounds.

That's it. That's the only reason it has any value beyond the intrinsic value of the paper and ink itself. It's all about trust and belief.

BEX ALERT - Russian spy cell in New York 'plotted Wall Street meltdown': Men tried to crash high-frequency radio messages used for trading

Russian spies operating a cell in New York were trying to find ways to cause an economic meltdown, according to court documents.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, if I understand this right, when the US economy collapses, which now seems inevitable, it won't be because of decades of Wall Street fraud and Washington DC corruption, it won't be the trillions in unregulated derivatives hanging over the top banks, it won't be the debt created by a ponzi-scheme private central bank issuing all of the public currency as a loan at interest; oh no, no, no, no, no, NO, it will be an eeeeeeevil plot by the Russians!

And if you believe THAT one, I have some of Saddam's nuclear weapons to sell you!

The FBI’s plan to collect everyone’s DNA just got a huge boost from Congress

In 2011, 1 in 25 Americans was arrested. In a few years, if the FBI has its way, the federal government will possess the DNA of all of those people and more. Under the radar of most lawmakers and journalists, the Bureau—with private industry and congress’ help—is pushing the most massive expansion of biometric state surveillance since the invention of the fingerprint.

Late last year, the FBI cut the ribbon on its one billion dollar biometrics database, called Next Generation Identification. Since NGI’s official launch, state and local law enforcement officials have been encouraged to submit face prints, fingerprints, retina scans, photos of tattoos and scars, and DNA collected from people nationwide to the FBI’s central database. Those state and local officials can also search against the FBI’s biometrics store, if they want to identify someone. With NGI in full operation, the scary future of Minority Report infamy takes a giant leap forward into the world of non-fiction.

Americans' satisfaction with the federal government is at an all-time low

If you have to deal with the federal government - be it the seemingly innocuous Social Security Administration or the eternally-despised Treasury Department, home to the IRS - prepare to be even more annoyed than in the past.

According to a report released Tuesday by the American Customer Satisfaction Index, our satisfaction with the federal government has hit an all-time low (at least since the company began collecting data for this index in 2007). The federal government now scores a 64.4 out of 100 in terms of satisfaction.

Is The US Preparing To Blame The Next Market Crash On "Russian Spies" And HFT?

On the surface this sounds like your plain vanilla diplomatic escalation, in which a lowly spy, or rather alleged spy, is exposed to show the displeasure of the host regime toward the opposing country, an action which will surely result, within 24-48 hours, in a comparable arrest of a US spy in Russia.

FBI Creating New Extremists Instead of Dismantling Existing Terror Cells

Instead of countering homegrown terrorism threats, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is cultivating new ones, reveals a documentary entitled (T)ERROR.
