Gallup: Americans say personal freedom ebbing, government corruption on the rise

A massive new Gallup poll released Tuesday has confirmed what tea partyers and other grass-roots folk have warned about in recent years. The sense of freedom appears to be diminished in America, and the nation ranks well down on a list of countries based on how residents report how “satisfied” they are with the amount of freedom they enjoy.

The U.S. ranks 36th on the roster — behind such countries as Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates and Canada.

Dick Cheney Has His First Good Idea

You might know Dick Cheney as the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks and the disinformation about Weapons of Mass Destruction in the lead up to the Iraq War. But those weren't his only ideas... Other ideas include shooting that guy while duck hunting and Haliburton's selling nuclear technology to Iran. In fact Haliburton does not care whatsoever about which countries the US bans trades with. They'll trade anyway with them. But Dick Cheney has only just recently had his best idea yet..and he's only on his second heart:

Lincoln- Worship Overlays The Corporatist Agenda

As with other authoritarian high modernizers, Lincoln’s vision of the society he wanted to build implied an aversion to the society it would replace. In many ways his father, Thomas Lincoln, symbolized everything he wanted to eradicate from American society. William Herndon’s book Herndon’s Lincoln includes descriptions of Thomas such as the following:

[Thomas] was happy — lived Easy — & contented. Had but few wants and Supplied these.

He was a man who took the world Easy — did not possess much Envy. He never thought that gold was God.

Hillary Clinton is a Terrorist

During a CNN town hall on June 17, Hillary Clinton made some controversial remarks about opponents of gun control. “We cannot let a minority of people, and that’s what it is, it is a minority of people,” she said, “hold a viewpoint that terrorizes the majority of people.”

The fact is that Hillary Clinton is not for gun control. She is for gun centralization. She wants to limit possession of guns to the government and people the government approves of. To enforce this policy of gun centralization, she is perfectly willing to resort to violence of her own.

After all, how do gun “control” supporters plan to prevent certain people from getting guns? Those laws will be enforced by police with their own guns.

The only minority terrorizing the majority is the government.

The Jeffersonian Secessionist Tradition..Or Thomas Jefferson Was Right!

By Thomas DiLorenzo
July 5, 2014

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”

–Letter from Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith, Nov 13, 1787

Thomas Jefferson, the author of America’s July 4, 1776 Declaration of Secession from the British empire, was a lifelong advocate of both the voluntary union of the free, independent, and sovereign states, and of the right of secession. “If there be any among us who would wish to dissolve this Union or to change its republican form,” he said in his first inaugural address in 1801, “let them stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left to combat it.”

Taliban torch hundreds of 'NATO-supplying' fuel trucks near Kabul

So the Russians have blocked the northern route now. If we loose thousands of troops in Afghanistan like the Brits did years ago it will be all over for Obama and his generals as the American people will go NUTZS!

An assault by militants at a large parking lot on the outskirts of Afghan capital, Kabul, Friday night left at least 200 fuel tankers incinerated. The Taliban said the privately-owned tankers were targeted because they supply foreign troops.

Now that the tensions between Moscow and Washington over the unfolding civil war in Ukraine are higher than ever, the US military has to consider the challenge of transporting millions of pieces of military assets out of Afghanistan when all possible exit routes – including through Russia – are blocked.

FLASHBACK - Sequester Doomsday Predictions: Much Ado about Nothing

Despite endless hand-wringing and apocryphal forecasts of massive federal job losses as a result of the 2013 sequestration, it turns out that — drum roll, please — only one job was eliminated.

The White House and the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) predicted that thousands of jobs would disappear if Congress couldn’t avoid sequester, those automatic budget cuts implemented across all federal agencies when Democrats and Republicans failed to agree on a budget deal.

So much for all that talk, as only the Department of Justice reported the reduction of its workforce, and that by a single employee in fiscal year 2013, according to a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report.

Intelligence expert Schmidt-Eenboom: 'It's a huge scandal'

DW: A 31-year-old employee of Germany's foreign intelligence agency is accused of having spied on behalf of the United States. Is that everyday business for secret services, or is it a huge scandal?

Erich Schmidt-Eenboom: It's a huge scandal. We're already in the situation that Germany's foreign intelligence agency (BND) doesn't regard American agents in Germany as hostile forces - they are allowed a lot in terms of espionage in Germany - but that a BND employee would be sent to spy on a constitutional body is an outrageous transgression of intelligence cooperation and its boundaries.

Israeli warplanes struck the Gaza Strip again on Thursday, hitting at least 15 targets in the blockaded Palestinian territory, causing extensive damage and wounding at least 10 people, including a pregnant woman and a 65-year-old man.

The Israel Defense Forces moved tanks and artillery units towards Gaza, positioning them in advance of any order from the cabinet to invade the densely populated enclave, with nearly two million people crammed into an area of less than 200 square miles. The IDF also called up an undisclosed number of reservists for duty.

The Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, citing government officials it didn’t identify, reported today that the man in custody is suspected of informing U.S. agents about an inquiry by German lawmakers into the National Security Agency.

Feds Threaten Journalist With Prison Over Report On Illegal Immigration

The Department of Defense has threatened me with imprisonment in response to our report on the illegal alien shelter at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

In a certified letter sent to Infowars, the Defense Department claims that I engaged in “unauthorized photography and broadcast” which were somehow “detrimental” to the “safety and security of the installation” even though the photos of Lackland’s illegal alien shelter, which is housing nearly 2,000 illegals at a cost to taxpayers of around $250 per immigrant per day, were taken outside the shelter and are clearly in the public’s best interest.

“You are hereby put on notice that should you make unauthorized entry into any of the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) installations in the future, a debarment order will be issued,” stated the letter, which added that further action could lead to imprisonment.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What the hell are they trying to hide form us? That there is a flood of illegals entering the country? We already know that. That many of these illegals are carrying highly contagious diseases? We know that too. That the US Government is spending more tax money to make sure these illegals have food and water while the legal citizens of Detroit are going without? We know that too?

So what else are they hiding to the point of threatening reporters with arrest for photos taken outside the facility?

XKeyscore exposed: How NSA tracks all German Tor users as 'extremists'

The NSA marks and considers potential "extremists" all users of the internet anonymizer service Tor, German media reports. Among those are hundreds of thousands of privacy concerned people like journalists, lawyers and rights activists.

Searching for encryption software like the Linux-based operating system Tails also places you on the NSA grid, says a report by German broadcasters NDR and WDR. The report is based on analysis of the source code of the software used by NSA’s electronic surveillance program XKeyscore.

Tor is a system of servers, which routes user requests through a layer of secured connections to make it impossible to identify a user’s IP from the addresses of the websites he/she visits. The network of some 5,000 is operated by enthusiasts and used by hundreds of thousands of privacy-concerned people worldwide. Some of them live in countries with oppressive regimes, which punish citizens for visiting websites they deem inappropriate.

The absurd reason why the government stole my parents’ savings…

In the Land of the Free alone, there are hundreds of federal, state, and local agencies that have all the firearms and legal authority they need to kick in doors, freeze accounts, and seize assets.

You don’t even have to be doing anything wrong. Hell you don’t even need to be anywhere in the vicinity. If your ‘stuff’ just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, it can be confiscated.

Almost every week, some government agency is holding an auction of other people’s confiscated property.

And at nearly every one of them is some poor guy’s collection of gold eagles and Canadian Maple Leaf coins.

This is reason enough to consider holding at least a portion of your physical assets abroad.

Police Departments Ignore Rampant Sexual Assault by Officers

When the police caught up with Smith's attacker a couple weeks later, they discovered he was already standing trial for the rape and sexual assault of another woman. That case was dropped, and Smith's case was picked up soon after, resulting in a plea bargain of life sentence, with Smith's attacker eligible for parole after an initial five years and then again every three years. Smith said she has been writing letters to a prison psychosocial review board to revoke his parole eligibility every three years and has always been successful. Now, she said, he has more of a chance of getting out than ever because of recent rule changes to how the state's parole board operates.

Free speech banned: Student group sues 4 US universities that ‘stifle dissent’

Arguing that free speech is suffering at colleges across the US, an advocacy group filed lawsuits against four universities, seeking to strengthen the rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) has filed lawsuits against four schools – Iowa State University, Ohio University, Chicago University and Citrus College in Glendora, California – that it says disrupt the flow of free speech in a number of ways, including the banning of particular T-shirts, for example, or by refusing to permit certain speakers address the student body on controversial issues.

According to the group’s estimate, about 60 percent of public universities and colleges have restrictions on rights guaranteed by the First Amendment.

Obese South Carolina Storm Trooper on Power Trip is Suspended

A suspended South Carolina state trooper threatened to use a Taser on Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Sam Montgomery during a traffic stop last week for speeding. South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. R.S. Salter shouted directions at Montgomery during the stop early Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3, 262-pound lineman attempts to comply when Salter tells him if he can't follow the commands 'the next thing you're going to get is the Taser.'

Webmaster's Commentary:

Patent office didn’t receive a single public complaint before stripping Redskins trademark

The recent decision by an obscure administrative law board to cancel the Washington Redskins‘ trademark registrations came despite the fact the agency hadn’t received a single letter from a member of the public complaining about the team’s name, records show.

The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, which is part of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, ruled last month that the name was disparaging to American Indians. The team is appealing that decision.

All but four nations are subject to NSA surveillance – new Snowden leak

Previously undisclosed files leaked to the media by former intelligence contractor Edward Snowden now show that the United States National Security Agency has been authorized to spy on persons in all but four countries.

Government Stops Glenn Greenwald from Publishing His Big Snowden Revelation … But Others Will Release ALL of the Snowden Documents to Prevent a War

A month ago, Glenn Greenwald announced that he was going to publish his biggest story yet: the names of those the NSA has been spying on.

Earlier today, Greenwald tweeted that he would finally publish the story tonight at midnight.

8 hours later, he tweeted:

After 3 months working on our story, USG [the United States government] today suddenly began making new last-minute claims which we intend to investigate before publishing

Many responded that it’s a trap, and that the government is dishonestly and illegally censoring Greewald.

At the same time, Cryptome announced that all of the Snowden documents will be released in July … supposedly in order to avert a war.

“July is when war begins unless headed off by Snowden full release of crippling intel. After war begins not a chance of release,” Cryptome tweeted on its official feed. “Warmongerers are on a rampage. So, yes, citizens holding Snowden docs will do the right thing,” it said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

SEABROOK, N.H. -- Five months after one of the Boston Marathon bombers bought two gun powder-laden mortar kits from the state's leading fireworks retailer in Seabrook, consumer fireworks sales in New Hampshire are booming as strongly as ever this July 4 holiday season, retailers reported.

However, those being hurt most in the long run by New Hampshire's fireworks sales continue to be taxpayers of Massachusetts, said April Walton, store manager of Phantom Fireworks in Seabrook.

The European Union prepares the ‘solidarity clause’ framework for military use against citizens

The use of the “European Gendarmerie Force” (EUROGENDFOR) is made ??possible by the “solidarity clause” as Heise reported. At the unit, headquartered in Vicenza, Italy, all EU Member States are involved, the Gendarmerien, so police forces with military status are used. One of the founding countries of the EUROGENDFOR include Portugal, Spain, Italy, France and the Netherlands. We provide our services to the police unit of the EU, NATO or the UN.

“The ‘solidarity clause’ is redundant, since the EU already has mechanisms for mutual assistance in case of disasters. Secondly, the clause amplifies the course to a militarization of domestic politics, since upon request military can be used in another Member State.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If I were a citizen of any EU country where these laws apply, I would be contemplating a very quick migration elsewhere, particularly if I had children and skills.

U.S. Relies On Law from Governments Which Don’t Even HAVE a Constitution to Justify Assassination of U.S. Citizens By Drone

The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution says:

No person shall … be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law ….

So how did the legal memorandum “justifying” assassination of U.S. citizens by drone try to sidestep the Fifth Amendment?

It relied on reasoning from two countries that don’t have any constitution.

The New York Times reports:

One might have expected a thoughtful memo that carefully weighed the pros and cons and discussed how such a strike accords with international and Constitutional law.

Instead, the memo turns out to be a slapdash pastiche of legal theories — some based on obscure interpretations of British and Israeli law — that was clearly tailored to the desired result. Perhaps the administration held out so long to avoid exposing the thin foundation on which it based such a momentous decision.

Neither England nor Israel have a constitution.

11 Shocking Facts About America's Militarized Police Forces

In June, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) brought more attention to police militarization when it issued a comprehensive, nearly 100-page (appendix and endnotes included) report titled, “War Comes Home: The Excessive Militarization of American Policing.” Based on public records requests to more than 260 law enforcement agencies in 26 states, the ACLU concluded that “American policing has become excessively militarized through the use of weapons and tactics designed for the battlefield” and that this militarization “unfairly impacts people of color and undermines individual liberties, and it has been allowed to happen in the absence of any meaningful public discussion.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

We are very lucky here in Hawaii that we do not have a lot of this kind of behaviour on the part of the police; not that it absolutely doesn't happen, but it is far rarer than for people on the mainland.

But the other aspect of the militarization of the police this article doesn't address is the training of the US police by Israel's IDF, which makes US police view American citizens very much the way the IDF views - and treats - Palestinians.

Watch Out for that Banana Peel

Recently, the EU announced that it is looking into legislation to allow the savings of EU citizens to "be used to fund long-term investments to boost the economy and help plug the gap left by banks since the financial crisis."

Sounds reasonable enough. But why would legislation be needed? It's perfectly legal for people to invest their savings in such ventures now, should they choose to do so.

Let's see what else the EU have to say: They are considering a law "to mobilize more personal pension savings for long-term financing." Mobilise? An odd term to use when discussing privately held savings. It could mean "encourage investment," or it could just as easily mean "confiscate." The former might be okay, but the latter would clearly not.
