So, here is how it goes. The company stock drops, and the stockholders kick the CEO. The CEO is afraid to kick the stockholders, so he turns around and kicks
the General Manager. The General Manager is afraid to kick the CEO so he turns around and kicks the Division Manager, who being afraid to kick the
Division Manager kicks the Foreman, who kicks the team leader, who kicks the worker. The worker in turn goes home, kicks his wife, who kicks the son, who kicks the dog.
Such is life in America.
This is going to be my last article about Dog, the Bounty Hunter. The last several days I have sorted through a flood of angry and oft times abusive
emails, denouncing me for failing to denounce Dog to the politically correct degree for a comment he made in private. And as I waded through this flood of
venom, the one question that kept coming to my mind was where was all this righteous anger when President Bush lied us all into wars of conquest?
Yes, Dog said something in private that blacks find offensive (and yes, I find it offensive as well). But the wars that President Bush publicly
lied us into are killing people, BLACKS INCLUDED! Where are the angry letters, the hateful speeches, the demands that Bush be removed from his job?
Why such a double standard of denouncing Dog, but staying silent on Bush?
And then it hit me. The people who are leading the charge to bash Dog are doing so because they are cowards! Bush has defecated on the people of this country,
the vast majority of whom are too afraid to fight back. They are too afraid to stand up to President Bush, so they are taking their anger out on
Chapman, kicking the dog, because they know that Dog can't kick back.
So, they are going to kick the Dog for what he SAID, while ignoring Bush for what he has DONE, because it is safe to do so. And after
they are done getting Dog kicked off TV, they will reassure themselves that they have done all they needed to do to make the world a better place,
even as Bush gets ready to start yet another war that will kill more people.
Such is life in America.
